Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Very Unprofessional and Bad Service.

There were several things with the service that made me very disappointed.   1) The moving company's men severely damaged the lift to the building that my flat was in while moving and took no responsibility for it.  Despite my complaints and proof that the damages were their fault, they still would not reimburse the expenses to fix the damages which has costed me GBP1,800 2) When transporting the boxes the moving company's men decided to stop over for a meal.  That would have been fine if they told us in advance that they were going to do (we thought they had driven off with our belongings it was so long) that but they did not tell us that was what they were going to do.  We only found out after waiting 45mins and having to call the head office to track them down I would have expected a much better level of professionalism especially given that the Moving Home Company are not the cheapest movers in the market.   Given my experience I would advise for others to use much more professional moving companies than the Moving Home Company.  .

Excellent customer service.

Having just used the Moving Home Company to upsize from Wimbledon to Hampstead I feel compelled to write a positive review on here.

I was quite reluctant to use the company as I saw quite a few bad reviews but, due to time constraints, I was left with few other options. However, I can definitely say the level of service received was not in keeping with the reviews I had read! I had a gentleman called Don come out to my property and do my survey, everything was explained very clearly to me and Don was very upfront and honest about the level of charges I would incur for wrapping and removal of larger items (I went for the full packing and move option). But I must put a special mention down to the lovely lady who dealt with all the admin and organising from the point of initial survey, think her name was Nazia or Naz Hemmuth (She used both). She was extremely pleasant and courteous from the off and was quick to resolve a minor mix up with a particular item that needed packing. She called me back before she said she would and was very professional from start to finish. I move home frequently due to work and I can definitely say having somebody like Nazia to take the burden off me relieved the inevitable stress of moving..would definitely be using this company again and highly recommend others give them a go..And ask for Nazia every time!!
Thank you Naz and the team :).

Furniture moved by hoist to the First Floor.

I contracted services of the Moving Home Company to move furniture from the ground floor of my house to the first floor via a bedroom window using a hoist.

I was completely satisfied by the removal crew that moved my furniture. The crew were punctual, friendly, professional and very quick. In fact, even the Double Glazier man who removed the window pane on the first floor to enable the furniture to enter the house noted their professionalism.

It was a pity I did not know of this firm prior to my original move to my new property in South Norwood. For your information, the removal company I contracted for my original move was Harradiines and I was dissatisfied with their services.

Moving Home Company.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Moving Home Company for helping us move on Saturday. Don gave a very honest and unpushy consultation and clearly knew his stuff. Nazia was so helpfu and her level of customer service was second to none. The guys on the day were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.  Things couldn't have gone more smoothly. I was initially concerned as they were so competitively priced that I (wrongly) assumed that surely corners must be being cut. I therefore asked for contacts for testimonials which they promptly provided, and who in turn confirmed their positive experience of the company, which  was a great reassurance.  They delivered all aspects as other, much more expensive companies quoted, even making an extra courier delivery for the packaging materials to wrap the fragile items.  They exceeded every expectation and helped make the move effortless. I would definitely recommend using.

Will Highly Recommend.

A big thank you to the all team at Moving Home, we had a perfect move from A to Z, if perfection exists.

Full move to Los Angeles, Manuela during the sales and Assia during the transit and delivery have been very proactive and kept us always updated - this helped to take away lots of stress.

Nothing broke but a silly wine glass out of a full container. Great company, should be better rated.

Great crew.

MHC moved me from East London to North Lincolnshire in May.
Very satisfied with the actual move. I'm afraid I've forgotten all their names (terrible memory) but 4 helped to pack the truck and 3 came up to Lincolnshire. Helpful placing things wherever I wanted them; assembling and dismantling - a really nice group of lads; really polite and sociable.
Admin also satisfactory - bit over enthusiastic with chase up emails after initial contact which can put me off a service, and slight panic when accounts hadn't caught up with my cashed cheque, but otherwise ok.

Moving Home Company.

We are extremely satisfied with the service we have received. They were 30mins early but we were ready anyway. They offered free boxes specific to carry clothes on wardrobes and also cotton blanket for TVs and TV stands (ie fragile items).Personnel was friendly. We would definitely recommend it to my friends and of course will use it again in the future should we need the service.

Excellent!

I cannot recommend this removal company more highly! From the initial site visit where they itemised what needed to be packed and moved, to the ever attentive Nazia in the office, on the end of every email - nothing was too much for them. The day before the move a packer came and could not have been more efficient. On the day of the move the removal men did a sterling job with their time management and removal needs. Again, the move into my new place was a stress free affair. This is what was so brilliant about their service: What can be an extremely stressful experience turned into the exact opposite! I would most definitely use this company again. .

Really bad experinence.

I don't normally write reviewing but the service we recieved from moving home company has been so bad I had to share with people. We booked a move from London to Sheffield giving a particular date which was then confirmed by email. Their quote was higher than others but they seemed very professional so we went with them. The first problem was that they phoned two days before the move and suddenly told me that in fact because of the distance the drivers had to travel they needed to collect all of the stuff the day before the move drive up that day, do the delivery on the following day (the original requested day) and drive home. I was quite shocked by this but they persuaded me there was no other option due to driver safety. The delivery men then turned up in an enormous lorry which couldn't fit down our road which delayed things that day quite considerably. They then delivered things without us being present as was the plan but I can given detailed instructions of where things had to go and a written plan. Unfortunately they completely disregarded this and most of our clothes and all of our books were just dumped in the most easily accessible room. Of the four beds they had to rebuild only two were built and only one was in the correct room. My mum was there for the delivery and said that they were very rushed and stressed and that the removal men apparently had to deliver to three other homes all in other cities in the North. This was clearly why they insisted on collecting a day early and came with such a stupidly big lorry. This was not what I had asked for and while I accept that this may be how they do their moves and keep their prices competitive I am shocked by how much it impacted on the quality of service they offered to us. I found it completely unacceptable. I contacted Moving Home Company to discuss these concerns and ask them to take account of it in their invoice. I was very rudely informed by Lisa Arnold that I must pay in full immediately and that she would ask customer services to look into it for us afterwards. Unsurprisingly I have never heard anything from them. Very disappointing considering the cost. Please bear this all in mind if considering whether to use this company.

Cowboy outfits with breakages and theft!

A two day leisurely move turned into a one day majorly stressful fiasco with items broken and items also stolen! They were supposed to send two/three guys first thing in the morning of day one of the move and only one guy arrived gone midday. At 19:00 the one guy had already gone home an hour earlier and only the kitchen had been 80% packed leaving two bedrooms, bathroom, under stairs cupboard, loft, living room the rest of the kitchen and a garden sheds. There was no communication with the boss despite numerous calls and emails and my other half was forced to put a £300 deposit on another moving firm because she thought we'd been scammed on account of the boss turning his phone off and because you have to pay in full up front when booking with the Moving Home Company. The boss finally contacted my wife and assured us that they would continue with The move and that they would send The lorry over that night to move all The boxes that had been filled with The kitchen stuff and it eventually arrived that night. The next day some of the guys seemed helpful but not very professional and quite slap dash and some made numerous trips to their car during the day which was a little strange at the time. It took all day and we had to put off the new owners on account of us being 4-5 hours over the estimated moving out time. After all that we have found stuff broken ie sofas torn, ornaments smashed, pictures trashed and to add insult to injury an expensive watch and some jewellery has been stolen. OH and we lost an additional £300 When we felt we had no choice to go with another removal firm after not being able to contact the boss. So all in over £2000 for the move not including damages and theft.
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT BOOK A REMOVAL WITH TJIS FIRM!

Highly highly recommend!

Absolutely excellent and brilliant value. Lovely people. Our completion was delayed by two days, they dealt with it and didn't even charge us extra. The packing was perfect, nothing missing or broken and everything put in the right place with minimal direction as both of us were working and hardly around. I can't recommend them highly enough. Everyone said the price they quoted was too low to be true so I expected extra costs but not so. The total price included insurance. Outstanding- they massively reduced the stress of a house move!

International move from London, Greater London to Bergamo, Lombardy

Move to Italy.

Yesterday was the end of my awful experience with Moving Home Company. On top of £3400 for a removal from London to North Italy I had paid £240 extra to get the furniture delivered between 15 and 17 March. On the 18 I had to fly to London for work, I am a Mountain Leader and I was meant to take a group of 17 school kids for a two-day expedition to Wales.

The arrangement for the delivery was for the 17 noon. At 11 (one hour before I was expecting the truck) I called and I was stunned to learn that the truck was 600 km away. The reason? A delay with the ferry crossing on the morning of the 16. In the 30 intervening hours nobody had the decency to notify me. The person I was dealing with, a certain Mr. Choudry, was terrible. Obviously there were some heated discussions during this time, but in the end he completely lost it and yelled at me that since "I was paying peanuts for the job I could I not expect a better service". I don't think £3,700 is peanuts but you draw your own conclusions.

The truck never arrived on the 17 but on the 18, so I missed the plane, the kids never made it to Wales and I lost quite a lot of money for that. But only the driver arrived, helpers were supposed to be there at 11 (!!) but only materialed at 1pm. I offloaded the truck myself together with the driver, apart from 6 items that were too heavy for two people to handle.

Obviously at this point you would think my request of a refund for the extra £240 would have been met straight away with a profusion of apologies. Well, think again. It took them two weeks to even reply to my innumerable calls and e-mails and only on the 31 March they said they could only offer me £100 because in the end they "did try" to deliver on time" The only reason I accepted was because by then I had got so sick of them that I wanted to forget all about it. Instead there would be another chapter.

After a week of waiting still no money was paid into my account as agreed. Again I started calling and e-mailing but every time I would receive vague and elusive replies. Then on the 19 (over a month after the delayed delivery) I received en-email saying that I would receive the money "maybe at the end of the week or beginning of the next". That really brought it home for me. What they do is try
and take you by exhaustion and frustration until I'm sure most people give up and they get their way and money. That was when I angrily replied that I would be contacting the Ombudsman and threatning to go legal. Guess what? The money was in my account in two hours.

So if you still decide to go with them:
- if there is any dispute don't try like me to be civil thinking that you are dealing with professional people, go legal straight away.
- do not by any means expect to get things done on time or to be notified when they are not. Do not make important arrangements for the days around the delivery date.
-Never believe when they tell you "tomorrow, soon, ASAP, etc". They are playing with you.
-Do not buy their overpriced insurance, take it somewhere else. I was quoted around £350 but I paid only 140 with Letton Percival and Co. Besides I dread to think what I would have had to deal with had they damaged the load and I was owned money from them through their insurance.

I understand things can go not according to plan sometimes. I would have been satisfied if they had returned the £240 extra I paid for the guaranteed delivery straight away. But their treatment was infuriating, I felt ridiculed and their unprofessional service cost me a lot of money from lost revenue at work and rearranging planes.

I could have recommended them to some friends, especially now that Brexit is sending a lot of foreigners back home. In this view their behaviur amounts to pure professional miscalculation. They think they have saved a few hundred quid but have in reality missed out on thousands.

Perfect.

I recently moved from London to Ottawa, Canada. I can only thank MHC for the excellent relocation service provided. All went smootly from A to Z. We had an all inclusive price, goods were handled with care at loading point without any damages on arrival!
The staff in the office were proactive and dealt with all my concerns professionally.
All my emails were answered in timely manner, in Canada the agent's service was as good as MHC! I had an excellent experience and highly recommend MHC!

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Local move that was logistically poor.

Booked two weeks in advance for local move within London. Two men and a 3.5 tonne lorry. Booking confirmed via email for an 1100hrs meet. 1140hrs still no sign of anyone and the call centre could not raise an answer. Call comes in that apparently they only do morning or afternoon bookings and we would have to wait a further two hours before anyone would meet us.

Finally they arrive at 1340hrs after numerous 'we'll be with you shortly' calls.

You get what you pay for and this was the cheapest option available to us. They successfully got everything from A to B but not without a few bumps and scuffs, no lasting damage but I was wincing on a few occasions as items were man handled and manipulated around.

If I could, I would recommend paying a higher price for a better quality service.

Moving from London to Whitby.

Excellent service provided by 2 men driving a Luton van. They were most helpful, respectful, polite and professional. They were quick and shifted a lot of gear - within a short space of time they'd loaded the van. They worked well together and they took good care when moving my things.
The journey to my destination was delayed due to an accident on the M11 and lane closure on the M1 so they were stuck in traffic. However, they did not complain and were cheerful as they unloaded the van at the other end.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to any of my friends / family in the future.

Not reliable.

We used Moving Home Company for our recent move and it has been a bad experience.
Not only they didn't estimate properly the surface to move and came with a smaller van resulting in us having to move stuff ourselves in a cab when we paid for a full service, but also they refused to come and collect the boxes after the move (this was part of their contractual agreement). They gave us 3 appointments and never came to collect them, we had to pay someone else to get rid of them.

Dont Use this company!!

Do not use this company!! I would not even give them a 1 star.

Being a single girl tackling a move on your own can be quite daunting, I did not want to rely on my friends so I decided to hire a company to take on my small move. After looking around and getting quotes the Moving Home Company came back with a very reasonable quote, and had been very helpful over the phone in answering all my questions. Once however, I had filled in all the paper work and paid the removal fee, all communication from them stopped, so much so that I had to contact them the day before my move to find out details for the move the next day.
My move was scheduled on a Saturday and they gave me a time frame of between 8- 10 am. By 4:30pm I still had heard nothing from the company. They had not given me any contact details and when I rang the office number I just got the automated voice message. At this point I began to get very upset due the stress of the move and the fact that I started thinking that I had just been had by a fraudulent company. After waiting around in a packed up flat all day I decided to leave. A little while later I had a phone call from the removal men to say that they were at my flat.
We rescheduled my move for the following weekend. This time they arrived 2 and half hours late. When they arrive the driver of the van was not wearing any form of uniform and had no shoes on! The team arrived with no tools for disassembling the furniture that needed to … that was in the quote. So the driver went off with the van to go and purchase the tools that they required for the job. In the meantime the other two men who did not speak English, started to take my furniture out the flat and stored it on the pavement outside the block of flats in wait of the van. I was on my own for the move so I went to go and still with all my furniture to make sure that nothing got stolen. I asked the removal men not to try and move the sleeper couch until they had the tools to take the sleeper section out. They did not listen to me and whilst I was downstairs, they attempted to move the couch and in doing so caused damaged to the walls as they tried to bash and squeeze the couch through the doorways. When the driver got back I took him up to the flat to see the damaged that the men had caused and he turned around and blamed it on me and the fact that I did not get the furniture wrapped! They started to get very defensive and aggressive and as a single women on my own, I started to feel very uncomfortable and scared of being in the presence of these three strange men.
The damaged that this company caused to my flat cost me £291 to get fixed! I have been waiting for 7 weeks now to hear back from the company to see if they would reimburse me for the incompetency of the men in their company. Today I heard back from them and they are only willing to give me £40 back as a “token of good will”.
I have had nothing but a stressful and bad experience dealing with this company, it has been me who has had to chase the company up for any form of information regarding my claim, in order for me to get the compensation that I think is just, for the incompetency and unprofessionalism of their company.
I still cannot get over that a company can treat a customer in the way that they have treated me and I urge you to avoid them at all cost, unless you want to have a terrible moving experience like that one I had with The Moving Home Company.

DO NOT USE THEM!

Excellent removal guys, poor quote and estimation.

We paid for a full packing and removal service. 2 guys came to do the packing Sunday amd left without doing some clothe and kitchen items.
The next day Mo & Ilyas came to move our stuff and kindly finished our packing and loaded their van..sadly the guy who did our quote underestimated our stuff and we had to wait an extra 60mins for a 2nd van to be sent so all our stuff could be moved out of London.
Basically, be sure they are sure on what service you expect. The staff that they send are very friendly and helpful though (Mo n Ilyas especially)..

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to London, Greater London

Moving within Central London 4 bedroom house incl. Packaging.

We contacted Moving Home Company through the internet and received an email back pretty much straight away to ask about further details to firm up a quote. A surveyor was send around within days of the first contact. Arrived on time and checked all necessary rooms - very professional. We received an updated quote as a fixed price quote following the survey which was great. Moving Home Company suggested pro-actively to split the move from a 3 bed house to a 4 bed house into 2 days with the first day scheduled to be packing and dismantling of furniture. Both days the company arrived in good time as agreed and in particular on the first day the foreman was very structure and organised and the team of 3 worked very efficiently. I did ask them to consider some items that would need dismantling to ensure they can be moved into the new house without damaging the freshly painted interior of the new house. In the afternoon a 4th man arrived for the dismantling of the furniture whilst the others were continuing to pack and also pack the lorry to already move as much as possible into the new house. On the first day the team was very careful with moving furniture and boxes into the newly renovated house. On the second day the team arrived earlier than agreed. Overall the second day was satisfactory but less organised than the first day, for example the person dismantling and re-assembling the furniture started to dismantle the remaining items instead of re-assembling the furniture in the new house to make space for the remaining items. Overall a very smooth, satisfactory and professional move, no major damages or items lost in transit. Would contact Moving Home Company again for the next move.

Poor service - damaged goods - false information.

We moved a 2 bedroom flat to a house within 1 mile distance and it took the Moving Home Company over 8h to complete the job!
it took 5 hrs to load the contents of the 2 bedroom flat (with no white goods) which is an unacceptably long time. This made us late to return the keys to the Estate Agent to give to our buyers.
We were told that there would be cardboard wardrobes provided to put our clothes on hangers in but instead they were shoved into re-used boxes.
We were also told that fragile objects would be wrapped in blankets but a large framed piece of art was handled carelessly, fell out of the truck and smashed. The broken glass ripped the paper.
They had difficulty disassembling our IKEA bed (even though I had asked previously if they were experienced in doing this) and were gone for an hour to get a different screwdriver..
Once the flat was emptied my wife told the crew that she was going to return the keys and that I was waiting at the new address for them. They said okay and did not indicate that there would be a delay however it took over an hr for them to get to the new address (it's a 5 minute drive!!) I called them to find out what had happened, and they told me they were having lunch!!
Moving house is a stressful experience as it is but this firm made it even worse causing unnecessary delay and damage.
We had to leave our young children longer than expected with baby sitters which was very upsetting for them (and more stressful for us)
We only discovered the morning after while unpacking that the IKEA furniture have not been assembled properly and the sliding doors do not open properly. This is sloppy work.

I dread to think how long it would have taken if I hadn't insisted on a bigger vehicle to do the move in one trip!!
I have now complained to the Moving Home Company over 3 days ago and chased them this morning, but they simply are ignoring me.
I would not recommend this company at all as they only seem interesting to get the cash in and do not deliver what was agreed and promised.
The after customer service has gone silent, which is unacceptable.

Worst Removal Service Ever.

We purchased to Moving Home Company Ltd a removal service from Lyon (France) to Melbourne (Australia). The sales representative was very professional, responsive, and convincing. We signed the contract in June 2013 and Moving Home Company contractually committed to deliver our goods in Australia in October 2014 after a pickup on August 1st. When picking up our goods they had forgotten all wrapping material and had to buy some on the spot. Wrapping was inadequate for such an international shipment and few items were broken (china, furnitures). In September I called them to find out the status of our move. After 10 calls I found out that they had forgotten to book the shipment and our goods were still in their warehouse in the UK. I made complains in writting and also contacted all the professional associations theyr are member of. Not very useful. They finally shipped our goods but their local partner in Australia refused to deliver them unless I paid additional fees (which were already included). It took Moving Home Company 2 weeks to resolve this matter and our goods were finally delivered to our home address just before Christmas 2013. This 6 weeks delay resulted as additional costs for us (serviced apartment, furnitures rental). I am still fighting with them for a compensation. Communication was poor. They clearly don't know what they are doing. I strongly recommend to avoid this company! Mickael.

I had to move from France to Australia, not a pleasant or cheap experience. However, I did have the pleasant experience of dealing with Emilie.
