Long-distance move from Birmingham, West Midlands to Plymouth, Devon

Shenstone to Cornwall.

My wife and I have moved house several times during our time together and we both know the process can be very stressful and heart breaking sometimes when things go wrong. With our recent move from Shenstone to Cornwall we decided to use a local firm called Movecorp and found them to be very competitive pricewise and by assigning me a personal move coordinator found it was very easy to get answers to our questions and updates. The communication, before, during and after the move were excellent along with the care taken when packing and unpacking our belongings. We have recommended them to family and friends and believe they already have repeat business from our recommendation. Excellent service thank you.

The ins and outs of moving abroad.

My wife and I recently sold our home of 40 years to move closer to our daughter and grandchild in France and found out how little we knew about the ins and outs of moving abroad . I called several firms in the Midlands to ask their advice and get estimates and in the end we instructed Movecorp mainly due to the helpfulness and knowledge of their estimator who came to our house. The quote was very competitive, any queries answered plainly and we went for the packing service for the little extra that it cost. On the scheduled day everything seemed to go very smoothly, the lads who loaded our furniture and fittings were chatty, polite and efficient.  There was no damage or any breakages to call about and make insurance claims, a tribute to the excellent packing skills of the team. We would recommend this company without hesitation  and would like to thank them once again for a excellent job carried out quickly and professionally.

International move from Birmingham, West Midlands to Barcelona, Catalunya

Don't Touch with a bargepole.

If you want to have your goods internationally shipped and need confirmed prices and delivery schedules - DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !! I asked for and received a reasonable quote for shipment of parcels from the UK to Ibiza. Collection was duly arranged although there was a hiccup with emailing labels and a consignment note - blamed by their staff on 'system errrors '(!) . Following collection I had to email to chase confirmation of delivery which was then confirmed for 20 May. 20 May came and went - no delivery although I was emailed to ask me to pay more money !! -chased them again to be told delivery 21/05/2014. 21/05/2014 came and went - no delivery. Asked to speak to MD - was connected to Sales Director - very arrogant individual who refused to pass on a mesage to MD or to ask him to call me. He just kept saying my goods could not be delivered that day but would not tell me why not. I finally tracked MD down via Facebook - full of his own self importance and good works - he was apparently 'not in the office' even though another staff member advised me he was on the telephone !  My parcels arrived in Ibiza 19/05/2014 and were marked as ready for delivery - one problem - they had not been given full delivery address by the UK Office ! Ibiza is only a small island and you can drive from one side to the other in an hour - if they had bothered to let me know I would have collected the parcels myself. I have yet to receive a true explanation for why my goods could not be delivered 20/05/2014 or 21/05/2014. Guess what - they tried to deliver 22/05/2014 when they knew full well we were no longer on the island and again 23/05/2014 yet the MD had emailed me to say he had already arranged to deliver the items back to me in UK. He has also emailed me to say that if I post anything derogatory about his company - I will be in breach of contract- I guess he must be used to complaints given that that's his initial reaction !  As of 30/05/2014 - no-one appears to know where my parcels are and the MD - James Tennant - is conspicuous by his lack of customer service - like I say - DO NOT TOUCH THEM - COMPLETE WASTERS. .

Birmingham to France.

First time of using Movecorp and must say I was very impressed. The lads who turned up were smart and hardworking, took care in packing and securing my belongings on the vans and knew what they doing. Everything went smoothly in France with everything put in the correct room and no breakages. Would like to thank John for sorting out my tv, dvd and surround sound, the joy of being a woman in distress, and for the tip to take pictures of the connections and leads and not make a diagram and lose it. Good tip from someone who must come across it all the time? Thanks again John would still be trying to fathom it out.

Long-distance move from Birmingham, West Midlands to Oxford, Oxfordshire

Moving from Birmingham to Oxford.

Can't praise the two guys who enough who came to move us. On that day of all days the lift decided to break down so up and down three flights of stairs with everything. No complaints, as far as I could hear anyway, and they worked tirelessly until everything was safely packed away. The same at the other end with everything put in their respective rooms, politeness seemed to be a normal trait of theirs and a brilliant job completed. Quick cup of tea and some biscuits and off they went. They refused a tip, to which I told them they had both earned it and I would be upset if they did not accept it. I mean £10 each for a drink on us was well worth the service we had been given and I'm glad to say that they did accept it in the end. Thank you both.

UK -Vancouver On your head be it Avoid them!

UK to Vancouver. Expense and time wasted due to incompetence of company. Overestimated so we left thing only to find 3/4 full.charged us extra to ship items which could have gone. UK container just sat around, when it did arrive in Vancouver they failed t have the shipment released for the agreed date and now a further 3 week delay, for this end company to find us a slot after they had hounded move-corp to have the container released. Quick to chase for payment slow if none equidistant with customer care! At your own peril use this lot or pay a proper company to do the job. Avoid!

"lost" 3 of 23 boxes.

I shipped 23 boxes of household goods with Schumacher from the US to the UK, Movecorp were their agents in the UK. They took several weeks longer than planned, charged me for extra checks and services not in the original quote twice and then lost three of my very large wardrobe boxes. Movecorp noticed the three boxes were missing two weeks before scheduled delivery to me and did not notify me. On the day of scheduled delivery they first sent out the wrong van and then only notified me, with a chuckle from the staff member, that three were missing. At the time of writing (three weeks later) they are still lost.

Great Service - Recommended.

We considered moving home by hiring a van and getting friends and family in to help. But a friend had recommended using Movecorp and we were so glad that we did!
Knowing a house move to be a highly stressful experience, we decided to pay the extra and get the professionals in.
Sophie in the office was very professional and explained everything from start to finish, arranging the survey, quote and delivery crew. On the day of the move, the delivery men were on time and were well presented and friendly. They arrived in a truck larger than required, which allowed for all our belongings to be comfortably packed and secured. Once at the new property, the crew were happy to place all items where ever we wanted them .. including the shed and into our loft (will only do this if boarded and lit).
Unfortunately we had damage to one item which was a bedside glass lamp. After informing Sophie about the damage and providing Pics, she arranged to send out a Gift Card (for the retailer we had bought it from) within a couple days (very impressive) which allowed us to purchase a replacement straight away.
Overall we were very satisfied with how it all went start to finish. Movecorp definitely took the stress out of the day for us. And I'm certain things wouldn't have gone as smooth had we undertook the move ourselves. We will certainly recommend to friends and family. Thank you Movecorp for all your help.

Awful is the only word.

In my opinion using MoveCorp should be avoided. I booked in for a move, whilst on the phone was asked for payment up front, I explained this made me feel uncomfortable paying for a service I had not yet received, so agreed to pay on the day - cash.
2 movers turned up (nice lads). Asked for payment again before the move took place, I explained the agreement made on the prior Friday, spoke with James on the phone (who was quite patronising and a little rude) and was told 'pay up or we're not moving you'. I explained I was happy to give half and then half once complete, he pushed for payment and I gave in and paid and explained I would share a review (I review all services, good and bad). Paid the cash to the 2 lads and asked them to carry on. Next thing I know they've closed the van doors and are walking into my home telling me they have been told to give me my money back they won't be moving me and the office will call me. This was obviously very distressing as I had complied with all of James' requests.
I then received a call from James explaining they don't want to do business with someone 'like me' who might review them badly, I obviously asked how he thought this review might end up! I was then told I had received the terms and conditions of booking and so knew that I had to pay etc, I explained I hadn't received them. Upon exploring this further it was discovered the email address they were sent to was incorrect!
James did then offer to send the removal men back by at this point I didn't think it would be a good idea to do business with someone who obviously thought I was out to rip them off.

Being a 31 year old girl, moving into my first property this could not have ruined the experience more.

If you would like a hassle free, pleasant move with excellent customer service I would NOT use Move Corp.

Great Job done.

Based on the service we recived for our move, I would definitely be happy to recomend to friends and family. Movecrop actually came recommended to my husband and I from a work colleague who was satisfied with a local move they carried out.

We undertook a partial move from the UK to France after buying a holiday home, so only required to take some homely items.

Comms was good from the off set and I was satisfied with the cost based on what we were moving.

Bet.
