Can not say enough negative things about this service. For the sake of my own sanity, I'll compartmentalize our numerous complaints into 5 key grievances:

1- Constant moving of goal posts. Our initial pickup window was guaranteed and then missed and rescheduled 3-4 times. Every single time, we had to be the ones to call the service and ask what was going on. We were given excuse after excuse.

2- Lack of Transparency - After receiving the initial quote (during which time we were absolutely lied to about the level of service we could expect), we did not see a contract or terms sheet from Monster Moving until we'd already deposited over $5000 for the service and our possessions were loaded on their truck.

-- We were asked when we would be available to accept delivery and provided a date. There was absolutely no mention that the contract gave them a 30 DAY delivery allowance FROM THAT DATE. We only discovered this AFTER reading the fine print on the back of the contract; a contract we only received after we had paid 75% of the total moving costs.

3- Multiple items were not packed. We performed a walkthrough with the movers indicating what items should be packed, and which ones should be left. The moving team moved some items out of the way, then completely neglected to load them on the truck at all - even after charging us for the space they would take up.

4- Monster Moving DOUBLED our quote price when the movers arrived. In fairness, we did have more items to move then we initially anticipated, but certainly not double the amount. Watching them write up the new bill, I saw they quoted 10 cubic feet for a guitar, 15 cubic feet for a Shop Vac, the list goes on and on.

5- Absolute lack of communication. Helen Keller had less of a struggle learning to communicate than Monster Moving and their support team. Constant excuses, long hold times, indifferent operators, and lack of any updates are what you can expect here. Good luck trying to get any answers, reach a manager, or talk to anybody except their inept support team.

There are not many things I would use a time machine to change about my life. But contracting Monster Moving is certainly one of them. Damn the butterfly effect, I would happily accept any consequences just to not give my money to these dirtbags. It is now the week of Christmas and my wife and I are sitting in an empty house in a new state, hoping against hope that all of our belongings are safe.

In short, run. Run far away. Run and hide from businesses like Monster Moving. They are the true monsters hiding under your bed you were told about as a child. Except these monsters pick up your bed, spit on it, and throw it into the lake and then charge you for the hassle.

THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER – DO NOT BOOK! I have moved internationally, domestic cross-country and locally before, and I have never worked with such an appallingly unprofessional company. Here is the summary of my experience:

• Movers did not show up on the day they were supposed to despite paying extra to secure a guaranteed specific move-out date.

• Movers damaged the walls and scratched the floors. Some of my duffel bags were literally thrown down the stairs.

• Movers parked in an illegal spot even though I had a spot reserved for them and asked them repeatedly to move the van.

• Movers left my belongings unattended for hours in the middle of the street in downtown San Francisco (not even on the sidewalk – see pictures).

• The packing crates for TV and glass top that I paid extra for turned out to be bubble wrap with a thin cardboard layer and was completely inadequate protection for the items it was supposed to hold. Needless to say, the glass top arrived in pieces.

• Unprofessional service:

o One representative told me to “call the police” because I asked for written confirmation on claims filing procedures.

o Movers charged an arbitrary $1,000 extra to change delivery address without explaining how they arrived at that amount even though the new address was

• Movers lost and damaged a number of items and have been unresponsive to claim filings.

I hired Monster Movers to move me from Chicago, IL to Texas (975 miles) after reading positive reviews. MISTAKE!

Per the terms of their own contracts/agreements, the company is legally allowed up to 30 business days to make my delivery based on the distance from the date written that I was able to accept delivery. They picked up my belongings on November 23rd and there is a written agreement that states I was able to accept delivery on November 26th. Originally, my plan was to put my items in storage but I did not have a unit yet as I was in Chicago and the storage unit would be in Texas. The company said all they needed was a city, state, and zip code (which I provided at prior to and again at pickup) and the exact address could be provided at a later date.

I called Monster Moving on December 29th to find out when my delivery would be made since January 6 would have been the end of the 30 business day window. I was told they had tried to contact me "multiple times" to confirm the delivery address since they picked up my items. This is not true. There was not a single missed call, email, or voice mail from the company any time between the pick up date (November 23) and the date I called them about delivery (December 29). Representatives insisted they had contacted me and I asked for the records showing where they had tried to call or email me since I had nothing from them on my end. Jennifer said she would send the records on several occasions, but she never did. They do not exist. I know this because I called again on January 15th to ask about a discount on my final payment due to the delivery driver due to nonperformance. She backtracked and said she was not required to provide those records to me. This is because she knows no one contacted me and has no proof.

Further, I know her insistence that an exact address is required for delivery is false because the delivery driver called me on January 14th requesting that I text him a delivery address as dispatch did not provide an address to him for my delivery - thus voiding the company's claim that they could not send a delivery without an address.

If I was able to accept a delivery as early as November 26, why would I not have a place for the delivery to be made?

Jennifer hung up on me on January 15 when I called to ask about a discount since the service was not provided per the terms of their own contract. This was a completely inappropriate way to handle a customer and I assume she decided to hang up on me since she recognized my request was valid. I should not be required to pay 100% of the price for a service that was not provided in accordance to the terms of the company's own contract.

Also noteworthy, the company's website has a link to another company called "Monster Moving" out of Connecticut with an A+ BBB rating. This is highly deceptive. (https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/westport/profile/moving-companies/monster-moving-0111-87113613)

POTENTIAL CLIENTS BEWARE and hire a more reputable, less deceptive, more professional moving company that does not hang up on their clients when there is an issue. If you do choose to use Monster Moving, get everything in writing. There has been little, if any, written correspondence since I called on December 29 from the company. This is because they do not want to be liable for anything. I have made calls, but also made the same requests/complaints in writing. Interesting that they want to enforce the contract but not communicate about the contract in writing, rather representatives call. Easier to delete the recordings of a phone call than an email.

A complaint will also be filed with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) with the DOT.

I was skeptical that they would take a long time or be rough with our items. Quite the contrary! They were speedy and efficient - and treated our items like their own. Edgar was so helpful and did all he could to make this a seamless move. They were great communicating with us, and the price was well worth it (though we found it cheaper than many other companies!!) The worst customer service I've encountered. They legally have up to 21 business days to deliver your items, its been a week over this time frame and they still cannot tell me where by items are or when they will be loaded. There were hidden fees, drivers did not give me an opportunity to see the weight of my items, very uncommunicative manager, list goes on. Please do your due diligence and comb through the BBB and FMCSA for complaints before hiring this company.

Please DO NOT use this company. The prices seem reasonable until your stuff is delivered and you realize they've helped themselves to all of your valuables. I had over $10k in stuff STOLEN from inside boxes and when I told them, they did not care. If it was my company and I knew that my customers were being ROBBED, I would try to fix it. Not them though. They just shrug and say oh well. I had so many heirlooms stolen, jewelry, electronics and more stolen from different boxes. Save yourself the headache and please go with someone else. They are horrible!

This is a disreputable company. First, they cancelled our move the day of the move. When we rescheduled for another day, The Monster Moving LLC sent a subcontract moving company (without disclosing this to us ahead of our signing a contact with them) . The subcontract company from Texas arrived on the new date and loaded all our items on their truck and then said that they would not honor the Monster Moving’s contract. Even though we were sending less furniture (minus a large desk and bookcase) than what we itemized on the contract, they said we would have to pay an additional $800. We tried to speak with the supervisor (Natalie) at Monster Moving repeatedly and she refused to take our call on the day of the move. When we asked to cancel the move, they refused to release our belongings from the truck until we paid them $1000 cash, which we did. We moved all the items off the truck. We are writing this review as a warning to any one considering working with The Monster Moving LLC (Illinois).

An absolute nightmare. Took a month after they packed us up before they were at destination. Price Was $7000More than initial quote. 5 pieces of furniture chipped but they use a claims company that is very rude to older people who can’t use computers. I Truck driver tried to charge more money for delivery. When I just called monster moving they say they aren’t allowed to talk after move , when you can talk to claims company. No one at either place will help me. I could not claim many broken dishes and crystal as they did not pack them which was my fault. But they had to have been dropped as they were in thousands of pieces. Boxes were marked “fragile”. It was hard to find movers during Covid but I really made a bad choice.

I wish there was one positive thing to say about my daughter's recent move from CT to FL but it was a shameful fiasco from start to beginning. We chose Monster on positive reviews and their responsiveness in the bidding process, but it went horribly downhill from there. They not only didn't show up on the scheduled moving day but didn't come until 4:00 pm the following day with an obviously rented truck that was too small to hold everything. This meant they had to return the next day to get the remaining items, which forced us to rearrange all of our travel plans. They more than doubled the original estimate and added charges of over $1000 for packing materials when we had packed everything but the TVs (which was in the contract). They added a service charge for a "long walk" when they in fact parked in the driveway. But things got even worse. Their customer service rep was not only unsympathetic and rude about our dissatisfaction, but also arbitrarily told us that we had to pay an additional 15% (85% as opposed to the 70% we had already paid) before they would even load our contents onto yet another truck for the interstate move. We had no choice but to comply with this underhanded alteration to the contract. Even after that, she was evasive about when our shipment would even be put on a truck. She referred us to the company president/founder "Ann" (whose last name is nowhere to be found on the company site or LinkedIn). Ann said she would "look into" out complaints and suggested my daughter call her "once a week" for a progress report! As several other people have noted, Monster never responded to any emails or texts, dealing with her complaints, communicating only by phone to avoid having any record of their unsatisfactory responses. The shipment finally arrived two and a half weeks after we arrived with her family having to sleep on air mattresses and sit in folding chairs in the interim. As it was, it came a day later than it was promised.. Many of the cartons and containers were crushed and her bedding was soaked from being left out in the rain. I would avoid this company like the plague.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $16000

I typically don't write reviews and it's taken me a while to write this one. My husband and I relocated from LA to Georgia in April. The initial quote was not unreasonable and the service representative Natalie was very helpful. We were promised 2 days of packing then transportation. I received a call a few days before the move telling me that we would only have one day and that there would be a large crew. Well, 4 guys came to pack a 3,000 sq.ft. house. The crew was all over the house, our items were put into boxes with no contents labels on them, our clothing was put into wardrobe boxes without being hung up on the metal bars, just tossed in. I will say that shockingly we only had a couple of broken dishes, considering how items were packed.

Then the upcharges for extra materials, etc. Our binding estimate went from approx. $16,000 to approx. $23,000. They "held us hostage" as we were flying out of LA the next morning and couldn't change our flight plans so last minute. We were then informed that if the driver couldn't get access to our location, we would be charged an extra $5,000 to offload our contents and put our items in a smaller truck to get to our townhouse.

The packers had to go back to our house after we left to finish the next morning. When I tried calling to speak to Natalie, I was told that she only handled the estimate tickets and that once the crew was dispatched, her involvement was over. So classic, that I thought that I had a contact that I could rely on, but alas, no. There was no physical person to speak with, just a generic reply of send an email to info@monstermoving.com

Additionally, they are brokers that contract with various independent drivers, which we didn't know about. When the driver got to Georgia, he arranged for a crew to help him unload. No one showed and he had to scramble to call other guys to help him.

I guess those that wrote positive reviews got lucky. Again, I am not one to complain or write reviews, good or bad, but this review is critical for future potential customers to beware of this company.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $23000

The services that Monster Moving LLC advertises do not meet the minimum and most reasonable standards expected of a business that operates as a moving company.

I selected this company to move my household goods from storage in Burbank, CA to Brooklyn, NY. I packed my household goods neatly in 31 new boxes that I purchased from Home Depot. My items were picked up for transport on 23rd June, and they were not delivered until the 16th August, or 4 days after the LEGALLY allowed 30 business days delivery date. Upon delivery, 26 of 28 of the boxes that were delivered were destroyed. Most of the furniture was broken or dirty because it was delivered without a plastic cover, and some of the glass items inside the boxes marked as delicate were broken, and there were a significant number of personal goods missing. Monsters Moving LLC charged me $5,954 USD for these services. It will cost me over $3,000 to replace or repair my damaged goods.

To say that I am extremely dissatisfied with the services provided by Monster Moving LLC is an understatement. First, the expected delivery timeline exceeded the 30 day limit. Second, it took customer service days to weeks to respond to my inquiries regarding the status of my shipment with no consideration of my requested date and time for my shipment delivery. And finally, there was not only extensive damage to my household goods caused by mishandling of boxes, but also property loss due to improper handling and transport of my household goods.

I do not know if I will ever get compensated for my losses, but I can only hope that their next customer does not have to experience what I went through. Please do your research before opting for this company which should be out of business.

This company has posted many false reviews on Google reviews and has likely done the same here.

They are well over a week late delivering our stuff (PAST THE 30 DAY LEGAL LIMIT) and have not ONCE called or contacted us in any way to give us any kind of information post pick up. They have ignored our e-mails and refuse to give me copies of any of the paperwork relating to our move. They have no idea when my stuff will get here. Save your money and your sanity.

Don't ever hire this company for moving. Our moved with them was a nightmare. We've had moved so many times, but this moved with the Monster Moving LLC is the worst moved ever. They said, they will come with 4 crews and a big truck, but only showed up with 2 crews and small truck. We've had paid them 23k+ expected a good service, but it is such a disappointment, or I may say it is not only a disappointment it is a nightmare! We had 2 months (Sept 7, 2021 - Nov. 7, 2021) free storage. We had to pay another $1,200 for the extra storage since we exceed from the free Storage time for couples of days. It is a long-distance move from Tennessee to Michigan, the crazy part is they stored some of our stuff in Tennesse and Texas. WE asked why? they can just put in one storage, so it is a lot easier for them on the delivery. But the crew worker who pick up our stuff was from Texas and said they will just put some of our stuff in the storage there. Delivery time Dec 5, only they delivered our stuff boxes and mattresses and the 95% of our furniture's was missing, it is all the high-volume furniture's from formal dining, 6 chairs, China cabinet, seasonal dining and 6 chairs, large entertainment center, fireplace, coat/mud stand, 6 large accent rugs, 2 couches and loveseat, coffee table, 2 corner table, wall frames, 3 dressers, 4 chests, 2 medium tv stand, small computer desk, 2 night stands 2 headboards and 1 footboard, bed parts, rocking chair and more. So, we call state police when we found all our missing furniture's, before we let go the truck driver, so we have a record and statement from the truck driver about all our missing furniture's on the delivery. We called them immediately, about the problem it took so long for them to answer the phone and guess what? They said our furniture's was still in Texas warehouse. It is the negligence and fault of the company, but we are the one who suffered. You need to do inventory before you will load the stuff of the customers, to make it sure everything is in there. So now it's been 2 weeks, we didn't hear any update from them when they will deliver our furniture's. We are the one who keep calling them asking when they will deliver it. So, we will file a complaint in BBB and FMCSA. Company customer service are so unprofessional and rude. Never ever recommend this moving company to anyone.
