Long-distance move from New Mexico to Texas

5 star ratings here are lies!!

They only get a star cause I can’t leave less than that. Customers beware of this fraudulent lying company. They paint a picture as a white gloved moving company that promises the world. This was my first And last experince with moving brokers. Now keep in mind they claim to be the movers until you find out that they only bid your job out. They sent out a moving company (angels movers) who was suppose to bring a semi with a 53 ft trailer, the movers showed up in Penske moving truck and told that we would be charged double what we were initially quoted. I attempted to get the issues resolved with the customer service depot, who by the way does not what customer service is. They sent another mover direct move) out who did not show up on the day he said he would be there. This mover insisted that he would get it done based on the list he had received. Once again, the mover showed up and said the same as the last mover. He would need 2 trucks and that he would charge me double. Now keep in mind we had to be in Austin Texas no later than the 1st of sept and we’re promised that our stuff would be there. This did not happen due to their incompetence and ability to deliver on what they promised and initially quoted us. We asked for a refund since they did not fulfill their contract so we could get our own uhaul. Chloe stated that she did fulfill our contract twice by sending out the 2 moving companies, and that she would not refund our money, and at most we would receive only half of the 800 dollar deposit we put down. We had to pull from other means to make up for this loss and guess what, all our stuff fit in the 26 ft uhaul we got and we had extra space. Do not do business with these so called movers and I hope people see this in time. Paying google for for their rating helps them look like an A+ company. Wish we had researched them prior to being swayed by them initially.

Oh and before I forget, don’t let them feed you the BS that they do it per weight and give you a rate of 33 cents. Both the movers they sent out said they do it by CF.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Mexico

Thanks Liberty Bell Moving Group.

We had a whole house move last week and had to coordinate between two destinations for our things and Liberty Bell Moving Group was able to follow our instructions and manage the move.
I put A or B on things depending on the long term or short term storage I wanted the item to go to and they managed it just fine.
The team was excellent!! I will ask for them for moves on a few more things that I need done. Thanks Liberty Bell Moving Group.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Maryland

These guys were professional and very hard working.

We moved into a 2 story duplex with a lot of furniture and glass! These guys were professional and very hard working (through the many stairs they had to climb!) We also ended up having to do another trip and they had no complaints. We were updated as we went along and started going over our original time. No hidden fees and we were kept up to date each step of the way. They came recommended from a friend and now we will recommend them too!

Long-distance move from Illinois to New York

Absolutely Horrible Business.

As listed in many other reviews, save your time, money and sanity when it comes to scheduling Liberty Bell Moving Group. They will harass you to sign a contract with them including calling you at 10pm to tell you more about the benefits of choosing them and they will promise you quick and simple delivery. But know the moment you sign and make your initial payment they stop doing their job and find every way to charge more. Customer service is HORRIFIC. I feel like a two year old kid would have more decency and knowledge than all the people at this company. I HONESTLY wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy JUST STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDS. (Just See the screen shots below of them scraping for good reviews and accusing BBB of bribery)

I would also like to call out Bill, Jessica, Dylan ( who is supposedly a COO) and Maggie (who is supposedly the owner). Not even an executive level ever returned my call or resolved the issues as promised. I gave them multiple chances to redeem themselves.

This isn't a complicated business to run, and somehow (based on our experience and many others) they manage to drop the ball. My grandmother can do a better job running that place.

We are still dealing with this issue, I just simply don't understand how businesses like this stay open.

Long-distance move from Idaho to New Mexico

Super professional, efficient, friendly and accommodating.

These guys are amazing!! Super professional, efficient, friendly, accommodating, and all around nice people!! They took very short time to move me out of my 1 bedroom apartment and into my new place. The owner was very helpful throughout the whole process, from booking, to moving day, and following up the day after. This was my first ever move hiring movers, and I would say hands down this was money well spent, and I would definitely use Liberty Bell Moving Groupagain for my next move!

Long-distance move from Hinesville, GA to Omaha, NE

Read This Before Using Them.

Folks, Save your money, do it yourself. It will be cheaper, but more importantly, you won't have to deal with people who do not speak to each other, do not care what your needs are. They will tell you anything to get that deposit. After that its a rubbish shoot.

I decided to use them, instead of doing it myself. The only saving grace (IF THERE IS ONE AFTER BEING SCAMMED OUT OF 800 bucks) is that I did not end of giving them anymore money.

Thank Irma. Yes the hurricane. Could not get in to the area to meet them in the timeframe I had because of her.

Basically here is the story as short as I can make it. Dylan who is full of you know what, took my money, promised it would go exactly as needed. Before we left for our 2 week road trip supposed to end in Hinesville GA. to meet up with movers, I spoke to him about the potential weather. He assured me they were keeping their eye on it.

as the week went on we continued with a few more emails. When it finally decided that the area was evacuating, we could not get in on the date. The other issue was that the house my lives, were going to stay at was empty because of the evacuation so there was no where to stay.

After that I stopped getting responses from Dylan the scam artist. He was made aware that we could not get in, and with the forecast, and work coming we decided that we needed to head back Omaha, so we did not miss any work. All of this was made known, and I was lead to believe, UNDERSTOOD.

So during my drive home, I received calls from the actual moving company(apparently Liberty Bell is just a bunch of people sitting in an office) (This company wanted to make arrangements to meet, on a date by the way I did not give them). Dylan really earned that 800 bucks. We also heard from Bill and some puny little rude girl named Jessica. I am sure she's a dreamy little thing. I informed both of them of what I thought Dylan understood, and that he had taken care of.

Nope, they were both shocked. Great communication!

Bottom line here is that, Jessica in her commitment to excellence, told me that my deposit was good for a year. I said I would rather get my money back. because Ill probably be back down there within 6 months, and that the only reason we wanted to move the stuff up here is because we got extended. Made no sense to reschedule. She then went into the whole well its a year you never know thing.

after back and forth, and after she contradicted herself at least 4 times, it was clear that her desire to "HELP ME" was BS, and that I was going to have to fight to get my deposit back.

I mentioned that and her response was well we win charge backs all the time because of that contract.. Basically daring me to file one. (WHICH IS WILL, just because she is so nice.

Reason for keeping the deposit? They had to use that to set up the movers, that I was told were already in the area when I booked it. That special scam artist Dylan told me we have a truck in the area with some space, so its cheaper for that reason. So one question JESSICA! If you had to use that to set up the move, then why can I use the credit for up to a year genius?

Oh Dylan there is a special word for your type, but I cannot use it here. You got me for now man. I will not soon forget it either.

If you are reading this, and looking at these low life people, DO NOT DO IT. I promise you the 5 star ratings here are paid. Same thing on Yelp. there are either 5 star or 1 star. Why do you think that is?

There are some nice comments on there facebook page as well, where Bill is seen defending there F rating BBB.

If you value your money, read this. A hurricane did not stop them from falling back to the contract you sign. If I canceled just to cancel, that is one thing, and I would not say a word. I didn't cancel. A hurricane interrupted it.

a Natural disaster, not me. So in a time where people are helping people these people have no sense of that at all. Spend your money here, and you probably wont get what you think you will be getting. Just look around the internet. One 1 star rating is an eye opener, lots of them, well that will be on you if you do not head the warnings that are out there.

Long-distance move from Idaho to Illinois

We were really impressed with Liberty Bell Moving Group.

We were really impressed with Liberty Bell Moving Group. In a long distance move which would have taken us days to complete took them only a few hours. They were very efficient with disassembling and wrapping furniture at the pickup location, and quickly reassembled at the final location. A big perk was being able to keep clothing on hangers for the move. We highly recommend Liberty Bell Moving Group and will use them should we need another move.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Maryland

Horrible experience!

It is absurdly wrong that this company has four stars. My hands hurt to give them one but there is no other option. I'm sharing my experience to warn potential customers, you decide whether you want to deal with a business like this. Here is how they operate:
1) Before signing a contract with them they say that the pickup and delivery will be completed as scheduled, that their company has 5-star reviews (which is actually 4) and that they aren't like others that keep customers' stuff in storage for months until they fill up the truck.
2) Only after movers arrived at my place did they disclose that the delivery could take 4-14 days, instead of initially claimed 'few days'. To my question whether it could take 14 days they said they were legally required to say so but it would be faster.
3) The 'contract' you sign with them is actually a job estimate. You will see a real contract for the first time when movers arrive for a pick up. This contract is couple pages and even if you have time to go through the fine print, which they plan to use against you later, you most likely won't cancel the job at that point because a) you are losing your deposit, b) in my case I was flying out the next day, I wouldn't have time to look for and book other movers. Part of responsibility lies with me here, I should've insisted to see a contract before I paid the deposit but I didn't have any prior long distance move experience and couldn't imagine how fraudulent businesses can be in this area. I did request contract later, after my stuff was picked up but the response I was getting from this company for more than 2 weeks was that they couldn't get the copy from the movers. Don't repeat this mistake!
4) As there was no delivery in sight after 4 days I called to check the status. That's when their true colors started to come out in its full glory. They started referring to the 4-14 day window even after 4 days were long gone. They promised they'd call the 'driver' and have an accurate delivery time, which they never provided. I was repeatedly told that the 'driver' was not getting back to them because "he was driving and he was busy." They kept saying that I would get a call from the 'driver' soon, which has not happened until 1 hour prior to delivery, which instead of 4-14 days took place on 7/13 (with the pick up date of 6/15). After countless calls they admitted that my stuff was in a storage somewhere in NC, which was the base for the movers that they had subcontracted for my move. Sometime in the week of 6/26 they said the delivery would take place on either Friday, 6/30, Saturday 7/1 or Sunday, 7/2, which of course was a lie. On 7/1, Saturday evening they said the driver was on his way to me for Sunday delivery, which obviously didn't happen. I managed to obtain the number of the branch manager. He provided a number for Kristina, and instructed me to call her and tell her 'figure it out'. Kristina never answered the call and her voicemail didn't accept the messages. The branch manager never took my call again, needless to say he didn't bother to return my calls and messages. On Monday 7/7, I was told that the delivery would take place "during this weekend", which was 7/7, 7/8, 7/9. An interesting side note here: as I was searching the web for the manager's number (which by the way is nowhere available) I came across another company which has a very similar name, they said they get a lot of angry calls and complaints but of course they didn't have any affiliation with this business. Just goes to show how many people are scammed and deceived.
5) I finally got the call from the driver and a dispatch manager (who by the way never answered my calls before) only 1 hour prior to the estimated time he'd be at my place. As he showed up I was asked to pay third portion of the total amount before he started unloading. It was not sufficient for them to already have $900 in their pocket for about a month, that despite numerous requests I didn't have any proof of payment for the second portion of $465 and a copy of the contract. The driver insisted that if I didn't pay he'd leave and it would cost an additional $600 to re-deliver. I had to call police to make sure I could get the delivery safely. Two interesting points here: 1) that's when fine print in the contract comes handy - it says you have to pay before they unload the truck. 2) the driver said a customer before me had called the police too. I heard the police joking - you've got this down, don't you?
6) From the severely damaged items some were broken, some abused to the extent of being unrecognizable, some stuff is just missing. I have submitted a report, will see what happens.
7) Finally, if you have a pleasure to speak with Shannon, you will be treated with rudeness that truly fits the company like this.

Long-distance move from Herndon, VA to Kansas City, KS

Caution.

I moved from the Northern VA area to Kansas City, Kansas for a job. I went through Liberty Bell Moving Group based out of Florida. I went through an itemized list of my stuff. They advised me that they can do the move for $2,000, which they guaranteed that the price will not increase and that is the max I will pay and do monthly storage fee of $85 a month. When the movers showed up they itemized my goods and took my stuff.

A few months later, I get a call from Seal Van Lines and they advised me that the monthly storage fee was to be $150 a month. I tried to figure this matter out with Liberty Bell, but they would not cooperate or assist with this matter. When I had my stuff delivered, Seal Van Lines stated they needed an additional $1,300. I just agreed and paid the difference just to be done with it or they were not going to deliver my goods. When my stuff was unpacked, several furniture pieces were severely damaged, the movers knocked a hole in my wall, and the lost a sofa chair of mine. I contacted the moving company that very day and sent them pictures. They acknowledged getting the pictures and acknowledged of losing my chair and they were going to try to relocate it. That was one month ago.

I have been trying to get a hold of them now to see the status of everything, but no one will return my phone calls or my emails.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Ohio

Horrible experience.

Liberty Bell totally scammed me. They lied about price, delivery date and wouldn't reimburse for lost items. I had to leave all of my furniture behind (aside from 3 mattress's) because they wouldn't honor the quote, even though I have an email from them saying "worst case scenerio" would be "$2255". I told Ashley that I had enough stuff to fill a 26ft Uhaul, yet she put on the inventory list that I only had 20 small boxes. When I called her to fix it she just said not to worry about it. I tried emailing and calling the company to resolve the fake inventory list but they refused to call me back until the day before pickup, that way they could claim that I can't cancel within last 72 hours, even though I tried contacting them 10 days before that. They claimed someone would stop by 3 days before pickup to do inventory check. Never happened. When I told them 2 large boxes were not accounted for (even driver confirmed they are missing) they sent me this email, "14. ALL PICKUP, LOAD AND/OR DELIVERY DATES ARE ONLY ESTIMATES. LIBERTY BELL MOVING GROUP LLC. WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGES INCURRED BY UNAVOIDABLE DELAY. LIBERTY BELL MOVING GROUP LLC. WILL ACT ON THE BEHALF OF THE CUSTOMER IN RESOLVING ANY CLAIMS OR DELAY ISSUES WITH THE CARRIER. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEES MADE, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED REGARDING PACK, LOAD, AND/OR DELIVERY DATES." That's it! Do not use them.

**read This Before Signing With Liberty Bell. They Changed Our Signe.

**READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING WITH LIBERTY BELL. THEY CHANGED OUR SIGNED CONTRACT BEHIND OUR BACKS**
First off, do not, I repeat,DO NOT sign with Liberty Bell Moving Group. I read all the bad reviews before I signed with them and I still signed with them and I am regretting it like you wouldn't believe. My current goal is to make everyone aware of how terrible and dishonest this company is. Please book another company! I don't even know where to begin. First, they gave us the name of the moving comp. that would be doing our move, awesome reviews, so that is the reason we went with Liberty Bell in the first place. When it came time for the move, they changed the moving company without telling us, and guess what, this company had TERRIBLE reviews. So we told Liberty Bell to give us a better company and they did. So that was the first red flag, I should have known from that. So, we had a SIGNED CONTRACT with them that our move would be paid in weight, .40/lb to be exact. When the movers arrived, their contract was in cubic feet. So Liberty Bell told the contracted moving company it was okay to continue with the signed contract in cubic feet even though we already had a signed contract by weight! So when we said no, and showed the moving company our contract, the moving company called his manager and said it was okay to precede and the truck would weighed as expected. When the move was all completed and the truck was filled, guess what, we were told our move would be calculated by cubic feet and not by weight. Our other option was to pay the movers to unload the truck, So we called Liberty Bell, and they said it was our problem and WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY to have the truck unloaded ourselves. We had a SIGNED CONTRACT that the job would be done by weight. That added another $2300 on to our total! Liberty Bell didn't care, they knew the truck was loaded and we had to move by a certain date. Oh, did I mention that it's impossible to get a hold of them? So, you're probably wondering why we didn't contact a lawyer because we had a black and white contract that was not abided by, don't worry we'll get to that in time. Just stay away from this company. When I asked Caitlin( works at Liberty Bell) why Liberty Bell isn't on BBB, she said oh, you have to pay for that. Well folks go look for yourself, and it's ALL NEGATIVE reviews. If you do see a positive review, it's fake. So, again, I am warning you, DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY. You will absolutely regret it. PS. We were told our things would arrive in 3-5 days, its day 17 and our stuff is no where to be seen. We will be contacting Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Long-distance move from Champaign, IL to Clearwater, FL

Absolute nightmare.

DO NOT USE liberty bell! Worst communication I have ever dealt with! The movers never showed up! I received a ton of emails saying the driver would contact me and he never did. The HR SHANNON spoke to me and told me she would resolve the issue and call me back on my first available move day and NEVER called back. I had to rent a uhual which only thing I could find at such short notice was a small 12' truck so I had to leave things behind that I didn't want too. I had to pay someone to drive one of our vehicles and we had two vehicles already to take which is why we hired a moving company in the first place. Since we had 3 drivers and 3 vehicles we had to stop on the way which cost more for hotel for all of us with 3 adults and 2 children. The whole drive down from IL TO fl NO ONE called me! They just never showed up and didn't call. I decided after we got to FL to call them myself and I waiting two days after leaving message and no answer back. I left an email and finally someone responded. I was told they would refund my deposit. That was almost two weeks ago with a email stating 3-5 business days before it post in my account and NOTHING..I just moved to another state with children and am out over $800 plus all the extra stress and hassle it was to actually get down here when moving to another state alone is stressful! Just beware that the sales people are smooth and they make it sound like it's worth it but it's not!! Get a pod and save yourself the nightmare! I was going to post some pictures of a few emails sent to me but it isn't letting me. I struggled with hiring this company in the first place bc it had some very bad reviews but the good ones were really good. If anyone wants to know more about my experience please don't hesitate to respond to this and ask!

Long-distance move from Kissimmee, FL to Richmond, VA

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels..

Interstate move from Florida to Virginia

I don't believe one of these reviews is a real review (other than Micah..that one sounds right on) from a real customer. I would not even give them one star if I didn't have to. They quoted us $1350 for a move then pumped it up to over $3,000 when they arrived on moving day. They said they would check the weight do make sure they were charging us properly and would refund any over charges. That was over two months ago and they have not tried to contact us once.

Furniture was damaged and missing. A ladder was gone, a full toolbox full of tools, Mirrors smashed, headboard deeply gouged, speakers crushed, accessories for furniture missing..at least two boxes never made it.

Upon delivery the driver and his assistant were condescending and lazy with the work we paid for. Things we wanted upstairs, remained downstairs. Everything was put together wrong and upside down as if a monkey did the work. When I tried to correct them they simply made it clear that they would not accept my help because they were in too much of a hurry and making me feel like I was being threatened n my own home. They tricked me into signing the invoice saying it was normal practice to sign and then resolve any issues, but once it is signed they basically tell you to take a walk.

I wold not only recommend that you never even consider this company, but suggest that they are worth investigating as a larcenous, dishonorable, disreputable group of trash.

In the end it cost me about $4,000 more to move than the original quote due to damage, labor to repair what they damaged, replacement etc..

Long-distance move from Virginia to Texas

Scam.

So far, it has been a nightmare on move street.

The movers from Garland Moving Company, arrived on the afternoon of 05/27/2018, and did a walkthrough of the residence to view the items to be moved. Upon inspection, the representative of Garland Moving Company proceeded to pressure me into entering a new contract outside the parameters of the original contract signed with Liberty Bell Moving Group.

They further demanded an increase in the price quoted under the original contract, which was $3463.04 for a total balance of $6000 as an estimate. This was based on cubic feet AND weight estimates. Simultaneously, the representative of Liberty Bell Moving Group, was telling me that the fee would be based on either cubic feet OR weight. The truck driver mentioned that Liberty Bell Moving Group is just the broker, and that they can upcharge on the estimates, pretty much doubling the estimate. It really seems that the coordination between Liberty Bell Moving Group and Garland Moving Company was non-existent.
When presented with these obvious contradictions, I declined to choose to enter into a NEW contract with Garland Moving Company. The movers then chose to leave rather than honor their commitment with myself and Liberty Bell Moving Group. They wanted me to sign a contract for the new $6000 as an estimate
I have been waiting several hours to hear from the manager of Liberty Bell Moving Group to call me regarding resolution to these issues. This also has not happened.
I feel that I have been taken advantage of due to the holiday weekend, and time constraints. I am horrified that Liberty Bell Moving Group would hire a company that would intentionally take advantage of veterans particularly on Memorial Day weekend. That is beyond unacceptable. I do not appreciate the attempted shake down that I just received.
I expected SOMEONE to call me with a resolution to these issues. I did mention to Neal that I wanted a full refund due to this multiple cluster **.
At this point, my items are still in my house, and I have to move within the next week. The situation started downhill when I asked the truck driver for the empty weight ticket. I asked for it several times, and he kept saying it was in the truck. They tried to say that my lawnmower was not on the inventory when it clearly was. I asked the driver where they were going to weigh the truck when never got a firm answer. I wanted a copy of the weight ticket before and after the truck was loaded. I planned on following them to the weight station to get copies of both tickets. They were real uncomfortable when I told them that I would be taking pictures of my stuff for my records.
My consensus is that my stuff was going to a storage unit to be kept hostage while the continually inflated the price.
Very Very Shady.

Long-distance move from Belgrade, MT to Winterset, IA

Do NOT believe positive ratings.

One star is too much. Oh, they will promise you the world and tell you that they are cheaper because they are needing to fill a load coming through your area or because they just do things more efficiently. The worst experience moving EVER, and I have moved many times across the US. I interviewed them extensively before hiring them, and have documentation of lies told. They will attempt to hide behind their subs, saying “go sue them,” but they failed in every aspect, to uphold language in the binding contract that is directly attributable to them, and not their subs.

liberty bell moving group (now, LB Moving Group) was caught in bald-faced lies, defrauded me (presenting falsified scale tickets then telling me that they would refund any overpayment), demanded unsubstantiated additional deposits under duress (day before loading), failed to follow thru on ANY of their contractual obligations. We suspect that names used..Bill Jones, Robert Jones, Alicia Jones and Kevin Jones..were aliases.

I paid the deposit online based on a promise of 24/7 access and turn key service..yet did not get a call back or email reply to dozens of attempts for two weeks at which time they demanded more money based on “incorrect inventory”. I was quoted 3200, and in the end paid 6400..even though my load came in EIGHT pounds under the initial inventory that I provided to them!!

LB Moving Group agrees to certain terms and conditions, such as itemized inventories, excellent customer service, disassembly, provision of specialty packing materials etc AND that the customer will pay by freight OR volume. The movers didn’t even have a screwdriver for use in disassembly, or the big screen box that we paid for in advance. LB said they would refund that money..but didn’t. In our case, we contractually agreed to pay by freight (ie, pounds); yet, the scale tickets they forced me to pay at destination had been inflated (I routed the moving truck through our local co-op, and obtained certified scale tickets.) Their gig is that they have their sub weigh the truck before offloading other customers items before arriving, then present you with the inflated bill of lading. I refused to pay the inflated ticket, but LB instructed to truck to stay loaded, and to leave in ten minutes if I didn’t pay, with my household goods, to Chicago!!

I have spent hours, days, weeks on this..sued and WON in small claims, registered proceedings and lien certificates in Florida and Colorado and have affidavits from leading professionals in the freight industry (yes, there IS an organization that oversees industry ethics and they will assist). They continue the lies and diversion tactics.

Any positive ratings are by decoy and completely false.

Zero Stars.

They do not tell you in the initial call that they are brokers. They collect a deposit and unknown to you the farm the job off to an actual moving company. Mine I found out had an F rating with the BBB as does Liberty Bell bow L/B moving group I Still Have not received my furniture or any thing after one year. They promise in their contract door to door service. They were not upfront with me.

Complete SCAM. Ripping people off.

LBMG are scamming people. The moving company they contracted with caused 2K in damages, then filed bankruptcy—LBMG still refused to help me. Filing complaint with BBB was ignored by LBMG. BBB rating is an F. On 6/12/17 I received a quote of $4,164.16 for 1001 cubic feet of space from Dylan. The origin/destination charge was $1000 and I was told that I only pay for the space I use—leading me to believe all of the subcosts are based on cubic feet. On 6/28 I spoke with Chloe to add multiple items to the list. To reduce costs, we removed several items. Chloe told me I could reduce costs to $5000 by reducing space back to 1001 cubic feet, because “you only pay for the space you use.” The resulting quote that day was for $6868.22 for 1495 cubic feet. I provided Chloe with exact measurements for everything on the list. The origin/destination charge was $2275. I had paid $2,339.16 in deposits.
On 7/5 I emailed Chloe about how the refund works if we reduced the space to 1000 cubic feet. She responded on 7/6, “my suggestion would be to keep it as is because reservation of space is the main priority.” When I asked her to clarify if that meant that the move would be canceled, she responded, 3 days before the pick-up window (7/11) on a Saturday evening, “If you want to update the inventory list, you are welcome to do so.” This left me fearful I would lose my pick-up date so I did not update—knowing I could not get a response back until at least Monday—1 day before the pick-up window. On 7/12, pick-up day, I had removed over 500 cu ft from the inventory list, supposedly reducing space to 1000 cu ft. Per previous conversations with Chloe, the cost should have been about $5k. After the truck was loaded, movers claimed it was 1375 cu ft. NO subcosts were adjusted besides the cu ft charge. I called Kaitlyn & was told that the other charges are static—they do not change with cubic feet on pick-up day (only if I had made changes ahead of time)! She claimed I was naïve for not knowing how the charges were calculated, despite the fact that I had only ever been told that I only pay for the space I use and it wasn’t explained ANYWHERE. I argued LBMG had grossly underestimated my space because according to them, I should have been back down to 1000 cu ft. She refused to admit that costs weren’t clearly explained, and that they made a mistake in calculating cu ft—claiming the discrepancy was because some boxes were larger than quoted. ALL the boxes were in a storage space of less than 600 cu ft—less than the originally quoted space for them. Regardless of whether some were larger (which I debate), I told LBMG how much space ALL of the boxes COMBINED would take up when I updated my inventory list with Chloe. To avoid extra charges from the moving company (which had a D rating with BBB), I had to pay $6518 that day. Kaitlyn said she could “break the rules” and get me a discount of $400—I was overcharged by at least $2500! I finally received an email from Kaitlyn on 7/26, 2 weeks later, with a non-disclosure statement I had to sign to receive the “discount”, stating I would not post negative feedback anywhere.
I attempted continued negotiations via email—phone conversations are consistently ignored. I sent over 30 emails in 3 months. To gain a response takes 3-5 emails and up to 14 days. Then, the process restarted because they underwent “restructuring” and I was passed off to Chloe. Chloe continued to make the same statements as Kaitlyn—dismissing my arguments. Never a recognition of any wrong doing , only an apology that I was “dissatisfied.” On 8/17, I requested to speak with Margaret B Drayton—Business Manager. I was not provided ANY contact information until 9/19 after 10 emails. Chloe said Margaret didn’t have a phone number and I had to use lbmovinggroup@gmail.com—which I used before with no response. I requested verification that it was a DIRECT line to Margaret. Chloe never verified. I emailed Margaret at that address on 9/27 with no response.
