Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Puerto Rico

Not satisfy how they handle claims.

Some of my furniture arrived damaged. But my biggest concern was my car it arrived all scratched up 950.00 was the estimate to repair my car had 1,000. Insurance with them when I made the claim they just want to offer me 130.00 because they claim that I only insured my car for one thousand and my car value was 19,000 so they can only give me 7% of what my car Ian worth now I told them that if they were crazy been having this battle for over 2 years and also they still to this day have not paid me for the damages to the furniture they offer 75.00 which will not cover it but I was more concern abt my car so now I'm moving back to PA from puerto rico and am going to see if I still can sue them in court for the money. Other then that there ok. Is just that when they do damage your stuff they won't pay. Even if u have insurance is hard to get them to pay.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Puerto Rico

Timeliness, dependability, packing knowledge, claim to payment time.

The salesman and pitch were great. The pick up to delivery time was not. The items that were packed by Rosa del Monte employees, suffered extensive damage. The items were packed sloppily and with very little protection. They also jammed too many pieces into the boxes.
When I began opening the boxes that they packed I was dismayed by the amount of damage. Many of the items in these boxes, I trusted to them because they were expensive and in many cases, irreplaceable.
To ad insult to injury, they pretty much forced me to settle for $500, which is about half the total worth were it be replaceable.
Do yourself a favor and contact a good attorney in case this happens to you.
I do not recommend this company at all.

Only use if you want horrible service.

THis was by far the worse moving experience I have ever had. They claimed 3 weeks delivery and now 3 months and no items. The service personnel are terrible and do not communicate with their customers. We have to make several 4 hour trips and each time they called us back to say we needed to come back for something else. They also lied about the amount we needed to pay by at least double. We shipped Sept and it is now Dec and no items yet. Please avoid this company like the plague. There are many more choices but this should not be one of them.

La Rosa Del Monte Damages.

La Rosa Del Monte claims to be the best in delivering household goods to the Dominican Republic. They are the worst. They destroyed our expensive glass vitrine that they crated at an additional cost. A rare Murano Glass Table was stolen. They lied about insurance options and don't want to pay us but a pittance. Their customer service department rotates responsibility between NY, San Juan, and Santo Domingo. In short, they finger point internally, never responding with satisfaction. The owner is a coward and never calls to take responsibility for his staff. RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM LA ROSA DEL MONTE!!

Long-distance move from New York to Puerto Rico

From NY to PR in pieces.

First I'd like to say the salesman was a good talker.. New his business. However, the company does NOT volunteer info unless it's asked. La Rosa Del Monte failed to tell me how much they were insuring my items. I felt I was overcharged for items that were of less valued ,and charged me or insured my items for less than what the items was worth. I told them I was sending my 32" Sony trinitron TV not that it was a flat screen but it was I perfect condition and hardly used. It wasn't new new, but worth sending to PR .. The packaging was very poor, plus I told the movers they needed 2 people to lift it b/c it was very heavy. Once in PR, my t.v. Arrived in pieces .. I couldn't believe the idiots broke my TV. To add injury to insult THEY, La Rosa Del Monte, said I insured my TV for $100.00 that's one hundred dollars. La Rosa Del Monte wants to give me $140.00 & that's b/c THEY say I insured it for $100.00. I told them they never even asked me how much my TV was worth to be insured.. Like I said it wasn't a flat HD wide screen TV but I told THEM it was in excellent condition.. Why the hell would I ship a TV worth $40.00??

So if you plan on using this company, ask how much they plan on insuring your valuables and make sure they give you a breakdown of all you items and what you feel each is worth..
I have pictures of my TV & when I can upload the pics I will..

La Rosa Del Broken Stuff.

I paid $1300 for a move from San Juan to Austin. I was hospitalized when the things arrived and was assured I had 30 days to inspect the contents. Upon inspection a broken china cabinet leg and missing casters were found. I've spent the last six weeks trying to get La Rosa to pay the $65 repair estimate and they have gone through an encyclopedia of excuses to avoid paying. At present I have complaints against them with The American Movers Society, Panamerican movers Assoc,The Attorney General in Texas and the Better Business Bureau. My only hope is that other people do not get abused by this very irresponsible, ethics-deficient company. Please DO NOT USE LA ROSA DEL MONTE.

Shipment not delivered on time.

Prepare for a nightmare if you select this company. They picked up on time. The made a good packaging of everything.  They said that the will take  between 4 to 6 weeks to deliver our things to the destination place. After the 9 week we are not received nothing yet. The car that they send us was not mine. So they has two cars missing.  I call the Orlnado office and the information that they provided was no conclusive. For me, they lost my shipment.  Good luck.

Delivery delayed by more than 8 weeks!!

I decided to make my move using this company due to the many years they have been on the market.  After comparing quotes I found this company to be the highest and since I wanted a company that was experienced and reliable, I decided to ship with them.  I was told my shipment would get to Connecticut within 6 to 7 weeks. 16  weeks passed and I still haven't received my stuff. When I call their different offices, nobody can give me a straight answer.  I've been told that they don't know where my stuff is.  They have been very unprofessional.  I would never use this company again.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Texas

Worst moving company.

My stuff got picked up august 1  from Puerto Rico to Dallas, TX.  To this day October 13, I'm still waiting for my stuff to get here.  I call every week and they tell me a different story.  I lost all credibility to this company.  My advise, pay extra with another company and get your stuff on time and safely.  They promise and don't deliver, their excuse is that is on the contract, they are not responsible for how long it takes or even if there's any damage.  Their excuse that is on the agreement (the sales man never mentioned any of this).  Oh and their intial quote was $1,750 and at the end end was $2,100I hope my stuff gets here eventually but I highly doubt it. .

Long-distance move from New York to South Carolina

Worst moving company ever.

La Rosa Del Monte picked up my belongings on 9/10/14 and I have yet to receive them as of 10/15/14. They said I would get it between 3 to 4 weeks and that's not the case. Not only that they don't inform their clients of these extra hidden charges.

When they came to pick up my things they told me I had to pay an extra fee because some of my boxes were bigger than what's on paper. However they didn't explain that they charge not only for the amount of boxes you have but also the size.

I was upset but I said fine, I asked what was the extra amount and they told me $75. They said I can pay that amount when they deliver my stuff. I was fine with that until I called Orlando's location and they said my balance was $95. They charge a 5% fee if you have a balance and don't pay before they close out the account to deliver. When I spoke to them they said that information is on the back of the form. Why is it in back of the form? If it's an extra charge they are suppose to inform the clients about it
and it shouldn't be in the back of the form it should be on the front. If I would've known that I would've call or stopped by the office to pay off the balance. Never again with this company.

Do not use this company!!

I chose La Rosa del monte due to price.. Boy am I sorry! First, they shedule to pick up my things and they don't show up. I should have taken this as a signal.. They picked my stuff up 1 week later. They said the move would take 4-5weeks, I was willing to wait a little more.. It took three months and a half! Whenever I'd call, always a different lame excuse. When my stuff got here, television set was damaged during the move. I called and got all sorts of excuses and fine prints in contract.. If the monitor wasn't broken, it wasn't their fault!?!? Please take my advice.. Do NOT use this company! I would have had better results having my stuff parachuted from a plane..

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Better late than never!

The move was from Bronx, Ny to Orlando, Fl. The company lacks english speaking representatives and because of this I was put on hold several, long, times. My things were already boxed up and packed in a storage. The representative told me on the phone the day before the pick up that they will call me after 9am to give the storage time to open. However, the driver called me at 8am the following morning and when I got to the storage place they were there waiting for me (this is a good thing). The representative in the Bronx told me 7-14days is what will take for my delivery. Instead, I was told 3-4 weeks by the representative in Orlando (I called them after the 14th day. The only complaint I have is that they did not have any tracking information to give to me just that the system showed that my things were already in transit. On the delivery day everything was fine, all boxes were there, and nothing broken. But I will never use this company again, I feel like I was pushng my luck and was nervous about my things for 4 weeks (my things arrived on the 4th week). It isn't worth going through all of that. Next time Ill move my own things.

Stolen Box.

Company does not honor claims for missing or stolen boxes even when they have been insured - A box containing a 4ft Armoire with our valuable jewelry ended up missing. The company was not willing to replace it or even provide us with the insurance amount that we paid for. The company reponded by saying: valuables must be identified and their value stated in writing by Shipper before shipment; and if not done, are carried solely at risk of the shipper or any other party having an interest in the goods. With that comment said I believe they knew exactly what was in the box since it was noted on the manifest as it contained a "Jewerly Armoire". that is soely the main reason its missing, that they knew.   .

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Most horrible moving company ever.

I contracted them to move my dad's things from Jersey City, NJ to Delray Beach, FL. They picked up the boxes on the day agreed upon (9/11/2015) and when I entered into contract with them, the General Manager - Carlos Figueroa told me it would be 7-15 days for the delivery. I paid for the services up front - completely.  On 9/26/2015, I called the NY office to see what was the status of m shipment. They transferred me to Miami office in which they tell me they do not see my order in the system and they transferred me back to NY. The placed me on hold and when they came back on the line, they said they would have to call me back. They didn't call back. I had been in and out of the hospital with my dad and when I finally get someone to tell me the status of my shipment, they tell me my shipment was sent to Orlando instead of Miami and they could not tell me when I would get my shipment. I finally got my shipment on 10/22/2015 at 7 pm and the boxes looked like they sat in a warehouse filled with water. Ever single box was torn. I used brand new Home Depot boxes and I used small and medium boxes just so they wouldn't be too heavy or too packed.I wound up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of NY.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAVE NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DO NOT HONOR WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Thief Con Movers unprofessional.

Content for: LaRosaDelMonteSucks.com   I agree with Eduardo. STAY AWAY from this company. It is ran by a person out of New York by the name of Carlos Figueroa. He is, for lack of better terms, the worst person you can have running a moving company. He is a liar, a con, a thief and definitely hides behind the phone so that he doesn't have to deal with problems. My wife and I called La Rosa del Monte 4834 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (773) 745-1331 out to make a move from Chicago to Orlando. Initially, we didn't hire their services because they said it was going to take 10 weeks to get our items to Orlando. We decided to rent a haul and make the move ourselves; we figured:  “at least we would be in control of our things.” Good thing we did, however, we were unable to get a big enough truck and had to leave some items behind. We called La Rosa del Monte to pick up the remanding items. We made it to Orlando before they were able to pick up our things from Chicago.   The day after they picked up our items, our situation changed and although we just made the move to Orlando, we had to head back to Chicago. We called Javier, our La Rosa Del Monte rep and explained to him that we needed the items held and that we would provide them an address in Chicago once we returned, but that we did NOT NEED our items sent to Orlando. He said that he was out of the office and that he would take care of it once we got it.  A month went by, and we were finally settled in our new home in the Chicagoland area. So, we called La Rosa del Monte to get our things back. HERE IS WHERE THE STORY GETS GOOD.   Apparently, Javier gets amnesia and does not recall anything and was going to check to see where our items were. After waiting, calling, and waiting, and calling; we found out that our things were supposedly in La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 and that Javier never stopped the move. We were irate and thought that it couldn't be possible, Javier denied the conversation and that the contract clearly stated that we hired them to move from Chicago to Orlando. The items picked up were HIGH dollar woodworking equipment and weightlifting machines along with expensive paintings and household furnishings. Now, they wanted $1,800 from us to pay the move to Orlando and another $1,800 for the move back to Chicago. We thought that they were trying to steal out items, so we called Orlando to ask where they were. We were not surprised when we called La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 to find out that they knew nothing about out items. The first thing that crossed my mind was THEY STOLE THEM. Very upset and not getting anywhere, they referred me to Carlos Figueroa out of New York office La Rosa Del Monte 1133 Tiffany St Bronx NY. 718 991 3300. The first conversation was typical. Although, he was looking for every way out of the situation he listened, and we ended up the conversation agreeing that he was going to investigate and get back to me the next day. The next day came and went, and no call. I gave him a few days and called back. Same: “Sorry, I am almost done with my investigation, and I will get back to you tomorrow." Tomorrow came, and you guessed it, he never called. I called and called, left messages expressing my concern and that I would file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, who governs interstate moving, BBB, StatesAttorneys office Florida and IL, and that I would go to the Internet and let the world know how they treat their customers.  You guessed it, again NOTHING.   Finally, I had enough; I called the New York Number 718 991 3300 and at first, they would pick up and hang up without saying anything. I called back;  the same thing, called back and I was transferred to his voice mail. Hung up and called again, pick up and hang up. Called again and finally a man picked up and I went off…    I figured: “If they were not going to deal with this in a professional matter, then I was going to go down to their level.” I wanted to get it all off my chest so that Mr. Figueroa knew, exactly, what I was going to do. I  filed Complaints with every government agency: Federal Trade Commission, BBB, States Attorneys office for IL and Fl, Yelp review Rip OFF report, Mymovingreviewsreport.com I felt so ripped off that I even bought LAROSADELMONTESUCKS.COM. I plan on making it a forum for unfortunate people that have been ripped off by this moving company, hoping that we can get a class action lawsuit against them. I have already started talking to attorneys. If you are reading this and have a similar story, please email me at rippedoff@larosadelmontesucks.com. Don't take my long winded complaint against them as the reason you don't use this company. Look at all of the other negative reviews from people that have complained against this Company in all the forums. I will soon compile all of the information and post it on my new site larosadelmontesucks.com.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to New York

I wish they adrress my problem soon so I could give them a better revie.

So far in this company apparently they have some good working people, as I could notice. But at the same time they have people that make the company look bad. "Asi que pagan justos por pecadores" For now I will not say any details because just last night I sent an email to PR and NY to see how they handle my complaint about my TV and my position bed. If I am not satisfied then I will it public. But so far as how they being handle it so far has 0 calification for me even though there were people in PR that treated me very nice, in the Bronx office (I moved to upstate NY and for that only they charge me $500 extra just to bring the moving from bronx to NY upstate ) but those people in NY that I have to deal through phone don't seem professional at all. The boss from the second crew that came to bring me what apparently they forgot the first trip came also in a hurry and that guy was too ruff for me to be in charge of such sensitive task of delivering, he didn't have not patience at all when they in the office iin the Bronx for first times they promised me that they will unpacked everything that they packed and they will not leave until make sure everything was working fine but unfortunately was not like that. Such a head ache and deprresive. Hopefully they will take care of my reclamation seriously and in a good time frame so I could change my mind and do not have to go to details yet.

Not serious people.

These are not serious people at all. My experience with La Rosa del Monte has been only frustrating so Far. Since I started dealing with the budget they have been adding extra fees and charges, so they hide and do not inform from the beginning about all fees. I'm moving from Miami to Santo Domingo, and they keep changing everything and threatening me with more charges. In addition they are did not show up the day of pick up, and even to pay them is a problem since they are not well organized. It has been more than 30 days and I haven't received my belongings . Don't use La Rosa del Monte or you WILL REGRET!

Please do not use.

This was a nightmare experience, please think twice before using them. We used them because of their low cost, but it ended up being just as high and a reliable moving company, they charged extra both on the moving out and moving in. $100 to go upstairs, $100 for more boxes, ended up costing over $1000 from original quote. It took 5 weeks to get our items from Boston to San Antonio. For a period of 2 weeks no one could tell us where the items were, and they were so rude about it. I emailed the President of the company, Hiram Rodriguez, twice, he never responded. I was told by a Yolcaira in New York that his son, Benito Rodriguez, would call me at 11am on a set date, he never did. Whenever we spoke to someone they were extremely rude to us. Various people, including Patricia Pacheco and Patricia Bonilla also lied to us multiple times. At the end of the day they lost quite a few items, including a box from the kitchen, 3 paintings my husband had done and a small shelf. We didn't even bother to call and complain based on the experience we had, we figured it wouldn't do any good. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the problems we had, but the review will be too long and I'm afraid people won't read it. Find another company, it will cost the same in the end and hopefully you will be treated with some respect and get all your items in a reasonable amount of time.

Save yourself the headache.

Have used this company twice unfortunately, due to their lower prices than some other companies.

But I'll review my recent issue since it's pretty much the same.

Until this day I have not received my items. It's been almost 5 weeks since pickup in Florida. Customer service is a Mickey Mouse operation.

No one ever knows anything and the reps answering the phones are a joke. How can moving items take so darn long?

During my last move, my tv was cracked and hair dryer broken. Because I wasn't home and didn't inspect items upon arrival, I had no proof.

I would highly recommend avoiding this company and save your money, frustration and stress with these people.

Missing item.

After more than a year I am still looking for a craftsman drill bit set that was unfortunately missing from one of the 2 opened boxes I received that like many others they just put some tape on it and deliver it like nothing happened. Almost sure several other items are missing. Guess some of their workers are really in need. Car also was received with damage on front bumper at least their insurance offer me a quarter of the quote. If filling for insurance make sure to get someone you know and send a quote that absurdly high.

Worst Movers Ever!

After picking up my grandmother's furniture to bring to me in Atlanta, I received a call that they were in our neighborhood but unable to deliver our furniture to our home because their truck was unable to make one of the turns in the neighborhood. They were approximately 1/3 of a mile away from our house and there is nothing wrong with making this turn. Large trucks make it all the time. Furthermore, there is another route to go in order to avoid this turn but they told us they "didnt have time." Frantically, my husband drove in his card to find them and guide them, but they were not interested in anything other than unloading our furniture on the street or "a pickup truck." It was a dark rainy night 1/3 mile from our house. In a panic, we had to have a neighbor with a pick up truck come out to meet us and the minute these movers saw him coming, they immediately starting unloading all of our heavy boxes into the pick up truck and peeled off, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Our much older neighbor then had to help us carry all of the boxes from our driveway into our home on a dark and rainy night. Picking up one of the boxes, we realized that the glass top table of a coffee table was completely shattered. It had not been properly wrapped and the box was not properly taped so glass shards were sticking out of the box, cutting both myself as well as my husband when we picked it up in the dark. The table is completely ruined and there were shards of glass all over our neighbor's truck. The whole thing was a disaster in every way. They did not care about any of this and gave us $50 for our troubles since we had not bought their high insurance package.

California to San Juan Nightmare

Giving this company a 1 star is being generous, if I could put no stars I would. This company for one held my house hold goods for over a month and a half. They continued to give reason after reason as to why they held my delivery. I provided everything that was asked and still resulted in a delayed delivery. This company has in their possession today May 6th 2021 my motorcycle, and will not release it. I continued to ask the girl Iris why the delay and she continued to tell me that Hacienda would not respond to her emails. I have since been in touch with Hacienda and all they need is a Bill of Landing which La Rosa Del Monte has to provide but they won't respond to any of the emails that I copy them on. I called today, keep in mind that it's now been two months and 6 motorcycles later. Yes they have 6 servicemember motorcycles because they are not doing their parts to get them delivered. Makes you think that they just want to get a storage check $$$ at the end of the day. I called Iris today and her excuse is that her manager is always on vacation or never in the office. Then she went so far as to laugh at me in my frustration on the phone today May 6th 2021. I told her that the situation wasn't a laughing matter and she told me stop being so serious. Poor damn customer service at its best. Who laughs at a servicemember let alone a customer who just wants in belonging. This company should never be used for any servicemember for any PCS'ing matter anywhere in the world. Jennifer at Red Hard Ball in California you score very low for even giving this company the contract for my items. Before you PCS, make sure you find out who the shipping and receiving company's are, if its La Rosa Del Monte Express tell the broker HELL NO !!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !!!! Tell your friends, and coworkers not to engage with La Rosa Del Monte Express anywhere in the world.
