Long-distance move from Georgia to New York

Never Again!

I have contacted many people, filled out several complaint forms such as BBB and Consumer affairs, and so on. To tell the truth, I ended up tired, frustrated and depressed.

This is a highly irresponsible, inconsiderate, cynical and unprofessional moving company. I can't believe this company is still operating with all the negative reviews posted by so many customers. I am going to try to make this ridiculously long story as short as I can. Due to their "too bad for you, but we can't be bothered" attitude, I had a nervous breakdown, heart palpitations, plus constant shakiness so bad I could hardly stand up and walk. I am a 63 yr old woman with various health conditions on disability.

They gave me 5 different pickup dates, and not by calling me. I had to continuously be on top of them, to the point that I asked for the driver's phone number in order to followup and make sure that they would pick up my belongings before the month of June.

Well, I had to leave (travel arrangements had been made). So I left the keys of the apartment with a neighbor with the promise of La Rosa Del Monte that they would not pick up any later than the end of May. I had to pay an extra month rent- the driver jerked me around until June 19. I was the last person that they picked up for - and only because I was calling them every day.

Once they delivered, my mattress looked like it had been dragged through the highway, the drawer chest had a chunk missing - ETC. This lame excuse for a moving company deserves a class-action lawsuit - I mean it!

Broken Tv poor service.

I shipped my belongs from Bronx location to Orlando location.. I shipped 4 boxes and my 37 inch tv. my tv was double bubble wrapped, double wrapped in furniture pads and also a quilt in a tv box and when I opend it. IT WAS CRACKED AND IT LOOKED LIKE THEY SHOVED the tv in a spot where it didn't fit and plied it open.. When I called the bronx location at 1133 tiffany st, and spoke to supervisor he expressed no regret nor CONCERN for the carelessness of his employees. Not an apology.. Total disregard for his clients. I suggested his employees be reprimanded for such carelessness and he said thank you and hung up the phone.. PLEASE DO NOT EVER SHIP YOUR BELONGINGS WITH THIS COMPANY..

Tracking.

These guys did an incredibly great job! They did both my house and my car. They took great care of packing and unpacking. The car arrived without a scratch. The only complaint I have is the time it took to get here (Puerto Rico). They had already warned me that because of the holidays it would take at the most 30 days. The furniture arrived a month and two weeks and my car arrived a month and four weeks later! Now, my main problem is that every time I called either the Bronx office or the Toa Alta office I always got the same answer "it's in transit"! Now this is a very non answer in our day and age when you can track a package from the minute you send it to when it arrives. I expect (and hope) Mr Rodriguez (the owner of Rosa Del Monte) brings his company into the 21st century soon!

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Florida

Who is in charge at La Rosa del Monte?

The first time I used LSD was back in march 2011 and overall the service was good and on time. Until I got to PR. The scheme used by the delivery "Agents" to steal while delivering was perverse but this time I will specifically talk about a quote I got today from a rep in PR. I asked for specifics and he was rude and chauvinistic.  When asked to give me the price for the sofa set he gave me the grand total 850.00 including an unknown amount for the insurance (basic) and it was up to me to figure out the price for the sofa. He literally said to me. I 'll wait while you calculate. I called back to complain but never got a manager on the line. The receptionist laughs many times at me due to my persistence in only talking to a manager. It's funny how the recording on the line says: "Let us know how we can better serve you". How about teaching your staff some customer service and honesty.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

This is an upset. I moved from Miami to NY.

This is an upset.  I moved from Miami to NY.  The ones in Maimi were great.  They were careful and very very kind.  When the movers in NY arrive all they did was nothing but complain.  I regret giving them a tip.  I did so out of habit.  Items were broken that was packed by the guys in Miami and clearly marked fragile and glass.  Since the day after arrived I have been calling and leaving messages every single day to Carlos Figueroa .  I am told he is the manager and there is no one above him.  I ask to speak to someone else and all they do is transfer me to him repeatedly.  After three weeks he finally responds to a call, not a call back to my messages, and says claim is being preocessed.  I say it's a lie because I haven't even started a claim yet.  He then proceeds to keep on with excuses.  I figure I will take the loss but this review will ocst them more in lost business then I lost in my move.  If you want items broken and no importance given to your personal items than choose them.  Otherwise go to a company that cares about your stuff and does professional moving.  Rosa Del Monte is low class.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Georgia

Lack of customer service.

I paid for a $10000 insurance coverage to move a German all wood. Wall unit from PR to Ga and it took 90 days to deliver and I found out because I called the company. No one called me to advise me and they found the item in a warehouse in Orlando waiting to accumulate enough items to take to Georgia. When the item was delivered it was damaged and the movers documented such it took 8 months to deal with the company in order to get a payment to repair the  part that was damaged. They wanted an estimate that cost me $50 and when I sent the paperwork the company sent me a letter that they had approved $50 for repairs. The repair estimate was for $400. I had to send a whole report with additional pictures and sign a letter stating that I didn't accept their decision. After numerous calls and emails .. Letters I went through the Orlando Fl., Better Business Bureau and made an official complaint.  It took a while for the company to answer to the BBB AND I WAS ADVISED BY THE BBB THAT THIS COMPANY HAS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS . Finally they paid only $250. I will never use this company ever and I don't recommend it. Their customer service is graded F and the services lack professionalism. After bring a military wife and moving more than 20 times this was the worst experience. .

Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Processing Claims way to long!!

I recently moved to Texas from Florida and decided to used again Rosa del Monte, I have been a customer since 2010. Unfortunately this time I have to do a claim because my TV Center was damage. They took a little bit longer, the salesman told me in Miami you will have it in TX in one month and it took a little bit longer but it was fine. The team who delivered the merchandise were very nice guys and professional!! Kudos to them. My complaint right now is that if you use this company get ready to wait a little bit longer when it goes to claims, you will definitely will get the all around and they will leave you up in the air.. Like I said my TV center was damage, I had to put in the trash, it was completely destroyed. I made the claim to the Orlando office and they sent a letter advising me that they have 45 Business day from the letter notice to process the claim (the letter is dated March 26). I called today May 7, 2015 and they told me that they haven't received any notificiation from the other office, which  I don't know which office they are talking about and that I have to wait. I mentioned what about the 45 business days, they told me that it  take longer than that. Come on, I have been reccomending this company for so long and now I feel very dissapointed because I have to wait when it was not my fault that the piece of furniture was packed not properly and now I don't have it and on top of that I have to wait? Then the letter is wrong, it takes longer than 45 days. That's wrong. When a customer use you guys is because we trust you, because you offer good service you should be  a little bit faster with the claims to keep happy customers.

Miami to NY.

I'm thankful my things came unbroken and nothing stolen. I would never ever use this company again it was the most ridiculous BS I EVER had to deal with. Waited 5 weeks in an empty apartment while they told me it would take up to 2 weeks which I thought was pretty long in the first place. I had to call them over and over while they would put me on hold and never call back. Only one man was great and helped me out from the Miami location mr. Rodreges. Ext. 111 if anyone is having issues he is very nice and helps if you need him. Rest of them were horrible. They lied to me and they won't even compensate for any inconveniences. I really can't for the life of me understand how this company exists this long with such bad reviews. Good luck if you are using them I will never!!

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Maryland

Very late delivery.

Long story short.. The main reason I choose La Rosa del Monte as my moving company is because I thought they were a trustworthy company. Not true! They said they would take from 4-6 weeks, the most, to deliver my items (which I already thought was a long time). They came to pick up my moving on the 17/April/15, in Puerto Rico. Today is 26/May/15 and I still haven't received it in Maryland. I confirmed that it was going to be received by the 27/May, so today I call to check the status and they tell me that my stuff has already arrived in their warehouse in Philadelphia, but that they just have to do to many deliveries, so that I can just expect to get my moving after the 16/June/15! They just told me that they would take about four to six weeks, so that I could pick them. But that is just a selling trick from them.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Thief Con Movers unprofessional.

Content for: LaRosaDelMonteSucks.com   I agree with Eduardo. STAY AWAY from this company. It is ran by a person out of New York by the name of Carlos Figueroa. He is, for lack of better terms, the worst person you can have running a moving company. He is a liar, a con, a thief and definitely hides behind the phone so that he doesn't have to deal with problems. My wife and I called La Rosa del Monte 4834 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (773) 745-1331 out to make a move from Chicago to Orlando. Initially, we didn't hire their services because they said it was going to take 10 weeks to get our items to Orlando. We decided to rent a haul and make the move ourselves; we figured:  “at least we would be in control of our things.” Good thing we did, however, we were unable to get a big enough truck and had to leave some items behind. We called La Rosa del Monte to pick up the remanding items. We made it to Orlando before they were able to pick up our things from Chicago.   The day after they picked up our items, our situation changed and although we just made the move to Orlando, we had to head back to Chicago. We called Javier, our La Rosa Del Monte rep and explained to him that we needed the items held and that we would provide them an address in Chicago once we returned, but that we did NOT NEED our items sent to Orlando. He said that he was out of the office and that he would take care of it once we got it.  A month went by, and we were finally settled in our new home in the Chicagoland area. So, we called La Rosa del Monte to get our things back. HERE IS WHERE THE STORY GETS GOOD.   Apparently, Javier gets amnesia and does not recall anything and was going to check to see where our items were. After waiting, calling, and waiting, and calling; we found out that our things were supposedly in La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 and that Javier never stopped the move. We were irate and thought that it couldn't be possible, Javier denied the conversation and that the contract clearly stated that we hired them to move from Chicago to Orlando. The items picked up were HIGH dollar woodworking equipment and weightlifting machines along with expensive paintings and household furnishings. Now, they wanted $1,800 from us to pay the move to Orlando and another $1,800 for the move back to Chicago. We thought that they were trying to steal out items, so we called Orlando to ask where they were. We were not surprised when we called La Rosa del Monte at 10208 General Dr, Orlando, FL 32824 (407) 859-6262 to find out that they knew nothing about out items. The first thing that crossed my mind was THEY STOLE THEM. Very upset and not getting anywhere, they referred me to Carlos Figueroa out of New York office La Rosa Del Monte 1133 Tiffany St Bronx NY. 718 991 3300. The first conversation was typical. Although, he was looking for every way out of the situation he listened, and we ended up the conversation agreeing that he was going to investigate and get back to me the next day. The next day came and went, and no call. I gave him a few days and called back. Same: “Sorry, I am almost done with my investigation, and I will get back to you tomorrow." Tomorrow came, and you guessed it, he never called. I called and called, left messages expressing my concern and that I would file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, who governs interstate moving, BBB, StatesAttorneys office Florida and IL, and that I would go to the Internet and let the world know how they treat their customers.  You guessed it, again NOTHING.   Finally, I had enough; I called the New York Number 718 991 3300 and at first, they would pick up and hang up without saying anything. I called back;  the same thing, called back and I was transferred to his voice mail. Hung up and called again, pick up and hang up. Called again and finally a man picked up and I went off…    I figured: “If they were not going to deal with this in a professional matter, then I was going to go down to their level.” I wanted to get it all off my chest so that Mr. Figueroa knew, exactly, what I was going to do. I  filed Complaints with every government agency: Federal Trade Commission, BBB, States Attorneys office for IL and Fl, Yelp review Rip OFF report, Mymovingreviewsreport.com I felt so ripped off that I even bought LAROSADELMONTESUCKS.COM. I plan on making it a forum for unfortunate people that have been ripped off by this moving company, hoping that we can get a class action lawsuit against them. I have already started talking to attorneys. If you are reading this and have a similar story, please email me at rippedoff@larosadelmontesucks.com. Don't take my long winded complaint against them as the reason you don't use this company. Look at all of the other negative reviews from people that have complained against this Company in all the forums. I will soon compile all of the information and post it on my new site larosadelmontesucks.com.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Most horrible moving company ever.

I contracted them to move my dad's things from Jersey City, NJ to Delray Beach, FL. They picked up the boxes on the day agreed upon (9/11/2015) and when I entered into contract with them, the General Manager - Carlos Figueroa told me it would be 7-15 days for the delivery. I paid for the services up front - completely.  On 9/26/2015, I called the NY office to see what was the status of m shipment. They transferred me to Miami office in which they tell me they do not see my order in the system and they transferred me back to NY. The placed me on hold and when they came back on the line, they said they would have to call me back. They didn't call back. I had been in and out of the hospital with my dad and when I finally get someone to tell me the status of my shipment, they tell me my shipment was sent to Orlando instead of Miami and they could not tell me when I would get my shipment. I finally got my shipment on 10/22/2015 at 7 pm and the boxes looked like they sat in a warehouse filled with water. Ever single box was torn. I used brand new Home Depot boxes and I used small and medium boxes just so they wouldn't be too heavy or too packed.I wound up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of NY.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAVE NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DO NOT HONOR WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to New York

I wish they adrress my problem soon so I could give them a better revie.

So far in this company apparently they have some good working people, as I could notice. But at the same time they have people that make the company look bad. "Asi que pagan justos por pecadores" For now I will not say any details because just last night I sent an email to PR and NY to see how they handle my complaint about my TV and my position bed. If I am not satisfied then I will it public. But so far as how they being handle it so far has 0 calification for me even though there were people in PR that treated me very nice, in the Bronx office (I moved to upstate NY and for that only they charge me $500 extra just to bring the moving from bronx to NY upstate ) but those people in NY that I have to deal through phone don't seem professional at all. The boss from the second crew that came to bring me what apparently they forgot the first trip came also in a hurry and that guy was too ruff for me to be in charge of such sensitive task of delivering, he didn't have not patience at all when they in the office iin the Bronx for first times they promised me that they will unpacked everything that they packed and they will not leave until make sure everything was working fine but unfortunately was not like that. Such a head ache and deprresive. Hopefully they will take care of my reclamation seriously and in a good time frame so I could change my mind and do not have to go to details yet.

Not serious people.

These are not serious people at all. My experience with La Rosa del Monte has been only frustrating so Far. Since I started dealing with the budget they have been adding extra fees and charges, so they hide and do not inform from the beginning about all fees. I'm moving from Miami to Santo Domingo, and they keep changing everything and threatening me with more charges. In addition they are did not show up the day of pick up, and even to pay them is a problem since they are not well organized. It has been more than 30 days and I haven't received my belongings . Don't use La Rosa del Monte or you WILL REGRET!

Please do not use.

This was a nightmare experience, please think twice before using them. We used them because of their low cost, but it ended up being just as high and a reliable moving company, they charged extra both on the moving out and moving in. $100 to go upstairs, $100 for more boxes, ended up costing over $1000 from original quote. It took 5 weeks to get our items from Boston to San Antonio. For a period of 2 weeks no one could tell us where the items were, and they were so rude about it. I emailed the President of the company, Hiram Rodriguez, twice, he never responded. I was told by a Yolcaira in New York that his son, Benito Rodriguez, would call me at 11am on a set date, he never did. Whenever we spoke to someone they were extremely rude to us. Various people, including Patricia Pacheco and Patricia Bonilla also lied to us multiple times. At the end of the day they lost quite a few items, including a box from the kitchen, 3 paintings my husband had done and a small shelf. We didn't even bother to call and complain based on the experience we had, we figured it wouldn't do any good. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the problems we had, but the review will be too long and I'm afraid people won't read it. Find another company, it will cost the same in the end and hopefully you will be treated with some respect and get all your items in a reasonable amount of time.

Save yourself the headache.

Have used this company twice unfortunately, due to their lower prices than some other companies.

But I'll review my recent issue since it's pretty much the same.

Until this day I have not received my items. It's been almost 5 weeks since pickup in Florida. Customer service is a Mickey Mouse operation.

No one ever knows anything and the reps answering the phones are a joke. How can moving items take so darn long?

During my last move, my tv was cracked and hair dryer broken. Because I wasn't home and didn't inspect items upon arrival, I had no proof.

I would highly recommend avoiding this company and save your money, frustration and stress with these people.

Missing item.

After more than a year I am still looking for a craftsman drill bit set that was unfortunately missing from one of the 2 opened boxes I received that like many others they just put some tape on it and deliver it like nothing happened. Almost sure several other items are missing. Guess some of their workers are really in need. Car also was received with damage on front bumper at least their insurance offer me a quarter of the quote. If filling for insurance make sure to get someone you know and send a quote that absurdly high.

Long-distance move from Hollywood, FL to Atlanta, GA

Worst Movers Ever!

After picking up my grandmother's furniture to bring to me in Atlanta, I received a call that they were in our neighborhood but unable to deliver our furniture to our home because their truck was unable to make one of the turns in the neighborhood. They were approximately 1/3 of a mile away from our house and there is nothing wrong with making this turn. Large trucks make it all the time. Furthermore, there is another route to go in order to avoid this turn but they told us they "didnt have time." Frantically, my husband drove in his card to find them and guide them, but they were not interested in anything other than unloading our furniture on the street or "a pickup truck." It was a dark rainy night 1/3 mile from our house. In a panic, we had to have a neighbor with a pick up truck come out to meet us and the minute these movers saw him coming, they immediately starting unloading all of our heavy boxes into the pick up truck and peeled off, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Our much older neighbor then had to help us carry all of the boxes from our driveway into our home on a dark and rainy night. Picking up one of the boxes, we realized that the glass top table of a coffee table was completely shattered. It had not been properly wrapped and the box was not properly taped so glass shards were sticking out of the box, cutting both myself as well as my husband when we picked it up in the dark. The table is completely ruined and there were shards of glass all over our neighbor's truck. The whole thing was a disaster in every way. They did not care about any of this and gave us $50 for our troubles since we had not bought their high insurance package.

Definitely not the best alternative

Moved from Puerto Rico to Spain. Approximately 30% arrived damaged or broken. Very disappointed in their packaging method. Some items were “crammed” into the boxes resulting in damaged items (specially glass or fragile items). It’s disheartening to open boxes and see that your treasured (I replaceable belongings) have been destroyed due to lack of professionalism. I strongly encourage anyone seeking a moving company to avoid La Rosa del Monte.
