International Van Lines

I used International Van Lines for a long-distance move to New York. Initially I was very nervous about the process especially considering what you read on the internet. I spent countless hours reading horror stories and vetting companies. I couldn't seem to find a moving company that maintained a decent reputation. I finally found IVL on a few consumer advocate websites which recommended them as one of the top moving companies in the U.S. Even after reading that I still checked into them. They're an actual moving company not a broker. That was the first good sign considering all the moving brokers in the industry. The guys they sent were a delight to work with. They did everything they needed to do and even went above and beyond. I am happy that I found these guys and I would recommend them to anyone that's planning a move.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3250

I am disappointed to say that the move from Illinois to Texas with International Van Lines was not a pleasant experience. In fact, if people knew how this move ended up, I doubt anyone would choose to use their services. When I researched this company, there were very favorable reviews. My representative, Glen was very attentive and helpful when he was trying to get my business and told me I could call him whenever and how often I needed to. He assured me that everything would be well taken care of and that on the other end the movers would put all of my items in the correct room and set up all of the furniture where I needed it. When this did not happen and I ran into issues, he stopped responding to me. I do not find this to be quality customer service. The original team that came to my Illinois house did a fantastic job. I could tell that they were professionals and knew what they were doing. At that point I felt confident that International Van Lines would take care of my items and get them to me safely in Texas. Getting a delivery date was difficult but I felt that it was to be expected so I was patient.
The delivery was a nightmare. Russ was the driver and told me he would me he would be at my house at 9:00 AM, when 10:00 came and went I reached out to him and he said he would be there by 11:00 AM. There were two men that moved my items into the house. I could tell right away that they were not professional movers as one fell when he was bringing my dining room table top in, fortunately he was not hurt but he dropped several things as he proceeded such as my sewing machine and a wheelbarrow full of items. They worked very hard for three hours bringing the items in. I notice as they were proceeding that many items were damaged and some were dirty. I pointed this out to Russ who did not seem to care and instructed me to just file a claim. When I asked the two men about removing the blankets and setting the furniture in place they told me that they were only being paid for three hours. I went to the driver, Russ and asked him about the set up and he assured me that it would happen. One of the workers asked him if he would be getting paid since it was over the three hour time limit, Russ said yes. The two men came back into the house and began working on setting up my broken china cabinet and thankfully setting up my bed. As they were doing so, I noticed that Russ and the moving truck were gone and when I pointed this out and asked if he was coming back the men had no idea. I texted Russ but got no response. The two men said they would stay and finish setting up my bed but then would have to leave. I paid them for their extra time but was left with all of my furniture still wrapped in the moving blankets and certainly not put in place as Glen had promised me.
I started assessing the damage and realized I had been duped into trusting International Van Lines to carefully move my belongings across the country. I am sorry that I chose this company as many of my things are gone now.

1.) One of the pedestals to my oak dining room table was damaged. The board that attaches the pedestal to the table top was snapped in half.
2.) One of my dining room chairs was damaged. The finish was ruined in several places exposing bare wood.
3.) My oak china cabinet had damage in several places and there was dirt all over it. The crown molding is torn off on one side and along the front it is just hanging there. The middle flat surface has been gouged and scratched and two of the cabinets are now missing their hardware.
4.) My dresser that was left on its side was damaged in the front, a piece of the trim was broken off.
5.) The condition of the boxes showed me that no attention was paid to the word FRAGILE written on them as many were torn all the way down and or crushed. I lost many of my dishes and glasses. (I have not opened my china yet because I am afraid of what I will find.) The dishes so for are a ceramic bowl, ceramic soup terrine, several rock glasses and ceramic plates of which cannot be replaced.
6.) The head of a lawn statue was broken off in a box clearly marked fragile.
7.) Several pieces of artwork were damaged including two charcoal drawings which cannot be replaced. Glass from their frames was shattered and then the pieces were ripped by the glass.
8.) The canvas on one of my patio chairs was ripped.
9.) My mattress was dirty even though I had wrapped it in plastic, the plastic had been ripped and no additional care was taken.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4583

This is the 2nd time I used IVL so I felt I should leave a review. I'm a military brat and have moved over 14 times in my life. Needless to say that I am no stranger to moving or working with moving companies. I've had many good and many bad experiences working with moving companies. I decided on IVL because they maintain one of the best reputation in the industry. In my opinion they're one of the best moving companies out there. My sales rep Justin was so polite, not pushy at all and told me the honest truth about all possible scenarios, good and bad. The movers were fantastic and efficient. They were on time and very professional. I was so pleased with the move that I bought them all lunch, gave them some furniture and tipped them very well. I can't say enough good stuff about these guys and would 100% use them again if needed.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6532

International Van Lines did a great job overseeing and performing my move from Salt Lake City, Utah to New York. We had them literally do everything from packing, loading, and crating. They also put everything away for us at destination which was a huge help. I've moved several time and this was one of the better experiences. I would totally use them again. If you're looking for a mover call Justin. He was very upfront, polite and did everything he promised to do.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2450

I used IVL back in 2017 for a move to Los Angeles. I recently had to move back to NYC and decided on IVL again. This time there was a car and piano involved in the move. They sent a crew of 5 who did a great job packing & loading my goods. My car was shipped separately and made it to the destination a bit quicker so I had to coordinate properly. My rep Justin did a great job organizing everything for me. When my good arrived I checked everything for damage. There were a couple of small scratches, but nothing major. I didn't even bother file a claim. The crew that delivered was different than the pickup crew, but they equally did a great job. Their guys are hard working, honest and appreciated the tip I left them. Just wanted to stop by and leave my feedback. Anyone can contact me with any questions about my move.

I hired International Van Lines for an overseas move for my parents. The move was from Chennai, India to Austin, Texas. It was a very stressful experience trying to find a mover with this kind of knowledge. IVL came recommended by several consumer groups and maintains a good reputation so my comfort level was good with them. My sales rep Nico was very attentive to my needs and made sure all customs paperwork and documentation was done promptly. I have never worked with an international moving company before, but my experience with IVl was excellent and I would suggest them.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6500

I had a difficult time finding a mover that could deliver to New Mexico promptly without being charged a ridiculous amount of money. I received several quotes from reputable moving companies and chose IVL because they gave me comfort. Unlike the other movers, I spoke with they did not try and pressure me to provide them with a deposit. In fact, my rep Alex did the opposite. He went over all scenarios, including worst case scenario which I appreciated. The pick up took place in Seattle and the entire move process took about a week. The guys that handled my move were very professional. They were timely, dressed well, clean truck and worked their tails off. I hope I never have to experience another move in my lifetime, but if I do I would consider International Van Lines.
