Helix Moving And Storage

I used Helix Moving & Storage in 8/2023 to put my 1 bedroom apartment into storage for about 1 year. This was a positive experience; so much so that I decided to rehire Helix for a cross country move to the West Coast in 8/2024. What a mistake-I cannot stress enough how much I regret that decision! The experience can only be described as abysmal. I felt completely disregarded as a customer. I cannot in good faith recommend Helix Moving & Storage Company due to their poor customer service, the damage to my items and their claim process to pay for the damages they clearly caused – not to mention the emotional trauma. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with these unprofessional issues. I suggest looking elsewhere for a more reliable and customer-focused experience.

After filing a claim for the damaged goods, I was offered pennies on the dollar to make up for the destruction of my property. Furthermore, in order to receive any money, they were requiring me to basically sign another contract that prohibited me from posting any negative comments or reviews. If I did, they could sue me and I would be responsible for all their legal costs. Obviously, I did not sign their insulting offer to replace my damaged items.

Don't be fooled by all of the positive reviews!

I love the fact that they are very respectful and considerate. They are sure to put things exactly where you want them with precision..We really need more people like this to service our communities.

I hope they are compensated well because they really do a great job and serve the citizens well.

Clean cut and punctual.

If your complete staff is demonstrating the same, that means you all are elite in the moving industry.

Keep up the good jobs and work will increase due the expertise of your team.

My wife and I moved 4-miles from our old place, however we had a granite table, oversized furniture, and a few other difficult pieces that frankly made us a bit anxious. We were pleasantly surprised how efficient and friendly the team of Paul, Fernando, Jaime, and

Manny was. Asa soon to be retired Army officer, I have moved several times over the past 35+ years and, I can attest that Paul's team was awesome! They truly exceeded our expectations! We had priced around our move with 5-6 other companies and Felix was absolutely the most competitive. I highly recommend Felix!

I contracted Helix Transfer and Storage for my moving from Virginia to Florida after my initial movers went missing in action. Helix arrived on time and explained every step of the move to me. I have to say that Srecko, Gustavo, the two Josiahs and Vladimir were very professional, funny, careful and respectful with our possessions. I will definitely move with them again and strongly recommend this company to anyone moving. Great moving decision to use them and will never regret it. Above all, their quote was very reasonable taking into consideration the time I called them and my move!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6700

Very professional service, movers and company. Specifically my movers, Daniel and Vladimir, for starters. They were on time, communicated and moved all my 1 bedroom worth of items within less than a hour!!! I'm so happy and grateful to be able to find movers that weren't slow. This is my

First time using a moving company and I will also recommend Helix! None of my items are missing. The team provided me with all my contracts and inventory list and they are cost budget friendly. 5 star company and movers!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1490

Paid way more than quote. Was told there would be 2 packers and a driver and I ended up with 2 people total which resulted in sloppy packing, taking longer to pack, and not following basic procedures. They were very late and ended up working late, like 10pm
Although they were working hard it all would have been a much different experience with that other person they should had
It's all about the money and not the satisfaction or regards of any kind to the person paying a lot of money for their services. Overall what was already stressful became even more so in many ways

Was bad on many levels!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6342

This was our first ever move and Helix was contracted by the original movers I had hired. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I didn’t this level of unprofessionalism. We were told that there would be a driver and he would hire a local crew of 2-3 people to pick up our 3 bedroom house. They called to let us know they would be late. Instead of 8-noon it became 2-4. Which turned into 4:30-6:30 with an arrival of 5pm. There were just two of them. They finished the next day after arriving on time. They forgot to pack one cupboard of pots and pans. Other items that were labeled “PACK” also weren’t packed and left for us to move ourselves. It was raining both days and they only had cardboard boxes to place in my entry. They walked all over the unprotected carpets tracking in water and dirt. The water just ran down the ramp and into the house. They asked us for towels or rugs to use to sop up water. At the very end, they brought our gas grill from our deck THROUGH THE HOUSE (still raining mind you) to the door with the ramp so they wouldn’t have to move the ramp to load it.

I also was disappointed in their cleanup of their products. Half used and empty rolls of tape all over the house, huge bundles of plastic and discarded tape stuffed into our outside trash cans - now so full we couldn’t even use them. I ended up taking the plastic out of the can and wrapping it with the half used rolls of tape in order to compress it so I could get the lid to close.

Our items were supposed to delivered by Sunday at the latest. Then we were told maybe Monday when I called them on Friday. They called on Saturday to tell us we were bumped to Tuesday. The 3-5 day pickup/delivery time has turned into 7 days now.

It is also supposed to be raining for the unload as well, so I am not sure how they/we are going to protect the new carpets in the new house yet. Not happy at all, it has been a very unpleasant experience so far, not to mention the cost is almost double what I was originally quoted for packing.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5500

I'm very satisfied with Helix movers. I had to move to a new apartment in the same area i used to live and needed help with boxes and furniture. Movers arrived in timely manner, 3 of them, carefully wrapped all the boxes, covered and wrapped fragile items like flat screen tvs and mirrors.Upon arrival to the new apartment they help by reassembling the bed frames and rest of furniture. They were fast, professional and on point. It was the easiest move i ever had with total time of 2 hours and 35 minutes

I am sitting here unable to walk because I had to moved almost half of my stuff. Upon arrival, the lead guy spent about 30 minutes on inventory of my items even after I had given it to the estimator before he could begin moving stuff. It would have been nice if the estimator would have told me how the process was along with the quote; but they wanted to secure the job and I felt he hid critical information about their business ethics.

They promised me movers would arrive at 11AM, but did not show up until 3PM. I had planned out my day around the estimated 4 hours for 1 bedroom and a loft. The 3 men took about 1.5 hours wrapping and about 2 hours to move. I felt they were inexperienced and at times they just watched me carrying heavy boxes. I am NOT happy and too tired to dispute hence I just decided to write this review and save you the headache.

As individuals, they were all nice and friendly; no complaints there. Although the lead guy was too confrontational since the beginning stating, “don’t get mad when we go over the estimated time.” I just wished he could have used a different pitch such as, “Mr. Smith, we recognize how important your time is...”

Though they still charged me about $800, they had the nerve to ask for a tip for all three and flirt with my cousin and wife. Definitely I will not be hiring these guys again.

When my father in law died recently, my wife came into possession of a grandfather clock from the late 19th Century that had been given to her great aunt and uncle as a wedding gift in 1920. I put out a request for recommendations and Helix responded immediately. Within a few minutes, I had an estimate and schedule. They arrived at the appointed time, professionally protected the clock, delivered it professionally and commissioned it within a short time. Very pleased. A problem that we don't have everyday, and a good solution.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $389

Great price: Helix was the best price that I found (among 10+ quotes) for my cross-state move.

Transparent: from the first phone call, Helix was transparent. I was made aware that my move may take up to a week (it ultimately took two days) because of the small size of my load. I appreciated this honesty and knew I was dealing with a great company. The only charge I wasn’t aware of was $159 for blankets and other materials to protect my items during the move - no hidden fees!

Professional: Helix customer service was excellent, answering all of my questions (I had many). They even went as far as to amend the contract language to my comfort. The team’s communication was excellent. I was contacted regularly, at the times when I was told I would be contacted. The team even followed up with me after the move was completed to ensure it was to my satisfaction.

The experience with the movers was outstanding. I was contacted by a driver the day before the move with a two-hour window. The day of, I was called again by the driver and told they’d be an hour EARLY. The movers themselves were extremely professional, fast, and hard-working. The drop-off mirrored the pickup, with regular and helpful communication.

I highly recommend Helix to all people considering a moving company!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $1735

This was my first move using a professional moving company so I didn't know what to expect. Helix was recommended to me by my property manager who had used them to move the prior week. He was raving about them so I decided to give them a try and I am glad I did. Everyone at Helix was top notch. Starting from the initial callback by Peter to go over the estimate to the morning of the move I was impressed by the level of communication and professionalism. The crew that moved my stuff was led by Paul with Bladimir and Jorge. They were friendly, professional and fast! They got it done in 5 hours, coming in an hour under the estimate! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to move hassle-free.
