Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $700

I used Helix Moving & Storage in 8/2023 to put my 1 bedroom apartment into storage for about 1 year. This was a positive experience; so much so that I decided to rehire Helix for a cross country move to the West Coast in 8/2024. What a mistake-I cannot stress enough how much I regret that decision! The experience can only be described as abysmal. I felt completely disregarded as a customer. I cannot in good faith recommend Helix Moving & Storage Company due to their poor customer service, the damage to my items and their claim process to pay for the damages they clearly caused – not to mention the emotional trauma. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with these unprofessional issues. I suggest looking elsewhere for a more reliable and customer-focused experience.

After filing a claim for the damaged goods, I was offered pennies on the dollar to make up for the destruction of my property. Furthermore, in order to receive any money, they were requiring me to basically sign another contract that prohibited me from posting any negative comments or reviews. If I did, they could sue me and I would be responsible for all their legal costs. Obviously, I did not sign their insulting offer to replace my damaged items.

Don't be fooled by all of the positive reviews!

I contracted Helix Transfer and Storage for my moving from Virginia to Florida after my initial movers went missing in action. Helix arrived on time and explained every step of the move to me. I have to say that Srecko, Gustavo, the two Josiahs and Vladimir were very professional, funny, careful and respectful with our possessions. I will definitely move with them again and strongly recommend this company to anyone moving. Great moving decision to use them and will never regret it. Above all, their quote was very reasonable taking into consideration the time I called them and my move!

Paid way more than quote. Was told there would be 2 packers and a driver and I ended up with 2 people total which resulted in sloppy packing, taking longer to pack, and not following basic procedures. They were very late and ended up working late, like 10pm
Although they were working hard it all would have been a much different experience with that other person they should had
It's all about the money and not the satisfaction or regards of any kind to the person paying a lot of money for their services. Overall what was already stressful became even more so in many ways


Was bad on many levels!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6342

This was our first ever move and Helix was contracted by the original movers I had hired. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I didn’t this level of unprofessionalism. We were told that there would be a driver and he would hire a local crew of 2-3 people to pick up our 3 bedroom house. They called to let us know they would be late. Instead of 8-noon it became 2-4. Which turned into 4:30-6:30 with an arrival of 5pm. There were just two of them. They finished the next day after arriving on time. They forgot to pack one cupboard of pots and pans. Other items that were labeled “PACK” also weren’t packed and left for us to move ourselves. It was raining both days and they only had cardboard boxes to place in my entry. They walked all over the unprotected carpets tracking in water and dirt. The water just ran down the ramp and into the house. They asked us for towels or rugs to use to sop up water. At the very end, they brought our gas grill from our deck THROUGH THE HOUSE (still raining mind you) to the door with the ramp so they wouldn’t have to move the ramp to load it.

I also was disappointed in their cleanup of their products. Half used and empty rolls of tape all over the house, huge bundles of plastic and discarded tape stuffed into our outside trash cans - now so full we couldn’t even use them. I ended up taking the plastic out of the can and wrapping it with the half used rolls of tape in order to compress it so I could get the lid to close.

Our items were supposed to delivered by Sunday at the latest. Then we were told maybe Monday when I called them on Friday. They called on Saturday to tell us we were bumped to Tuesday. The 3-5 day pickup/delivery time has turned into 7 days now.

It is also supposed to be raining for the unload as well, so I am not sure how they/we are going to protect the new carpets in the new house yet. Not happy at all, it has been a very unpleasant experience so far, not to mention the cost is almost double what I was originally quoted for packing.

This was my first move using a professional moving company so I didn't know what to expect. Helix was recommended to me by my property manager who had used them to move the prior week. He was raving about them so I decided to give them a try and I am glad I did. Everyone at Helix was top notch. Starting from the initial callback by Peter to go over the estimate to the morning of the move I was impressed by the level of communication and professionalism. The crew that moved my stuff was led by Paul with Bladimir and Jorge. They were friendly, professional and fast! They got it done in 5 hours, coming in an hour under the estimate! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to move hassle-free.

Daniel‘s team was professional, punctual, efficient and friendly throughout our move from Montclair, Va to Montross, Va. All furniture was treated with expert care, including some items requiring disassembly and reassembly. The price estimate was right on point, and we even saved an additional $120.00 due to the efficiency and focused work ethic of Daniel’s team. I highly recommend Helix Transfer and Storage, and will certainly use them again!

I'm very satisfied with Helix movers. I had to move to a new apartment in the same area i used to live and needed help with boxes and furniture. Movers arrived in timely manner, 3 of them, carefully wrapped all the boxes,covered and wrapped fragile items like flat screen tvs and mirrors.Upon arrival to the new apartment they help by reassembling the bed frames and rest of furniture. They were fast, professional and on point. It was the easiest move i ever had with total time of 2 hours and 35 minutes
