I am sitting here unable to walk because I had to moved almost half of my stuff. Upon arrival, the lead guy spent about 30 minutes on inventory of my items even after I had given it to the estimator before he could begin moving stuff. It would have been nice if the estimator would have told me how the process was along with the quote; but they wanted to secure the job and I felt he hid critical information about their business ethics.

They promised me movers would arrive at 11AM, but did not show up until 3PM. I had planned out my day around the estimated 4 hours for 1 bedroom and a loft. The 3 men took about 1.5 hours wrapping and about 2 hours to move. I felt they were inexperienced and at times they just watched me carrying heavy boxes. I am NOT happy and too tired to dispute hence I just decided to write this review and save you the headache.

As individuals, they were all nice and friendly; no complaints there. Although the lead guy was too confrontational since the beginning stating, “don’t get mad when we go over the estimated time.” I just wished he could have used a different pitch such as, “Mr. Smith, we recognize how important your time is...”

Though they still charged me about $800, they had the nerve to ask for a tip for all three and flirt with my cousin and wife. Definitely I will not be hiring these guys again.

When my father in law died recently, my wife came into possession of a grandfather clock from the late 19th Century that had been given to her great aunt and uncle as a wedding gift in 1920. I put out a request for recommendations and Helix responded immediately. Within a few minutes, I had an estimate and schedule. They arrived at the appointed time, professionally protected the clock, delivered it professionally and commissioned it within a short time. Very pleased. A problem that we don't have everyday, and a good solution.

Great price: Helix was the best price that I found (among 10+ quotes) for my cross-state move.

Transparent: from the first phone call, Helix was transparent. I was made aware that my move may take up to a week (it ultimately took two days) because of the small size of my load. I appreciated this honesty and knew I was dealing with a great company. The only charge I wasn’t aware of was $159 for blankets and other materials to protect my items during the move - no hidden fees!

Professional: Helix customer service was excellent, answering all of my questions (I had many). They even went as far as to amend the contract language to my comfort. The team’s communication was excellent. I was contacted regularly, at the times when I was told I would be contacted. The team even followed up with me after the move was completed to ensure it was to my satisfaction.

The experience with the movers was outstanding. I was contacted by a driver the day before the move with a two-hour window. The day of, I was called again by the driver and told they’d be an hour EARLY. The movers themselves were extremely professional, fast, and hard-working. The drop-off mirrored the pickup, with regular and helpful communication.

I highly recommend Helix to all people considering a moving company!

Paul and Fernando are a great team. Paul did an incredible job maneuvering the big truck along my winding tree lined driveway, with not a scratch on either trees or truck. He and Fernando worked long and hard even in the NC heat wave. Fernando is an expert at loading the truck efficiently. Paul took time to explain the process thoroughly, and his weight estimate was slightly low, so the charges were actually less than anticipated once the truck was finally weighed. Throughout the job they were cheerful and considerate. I could not have asked for a better team to help me, a recent widow, through a difficult move.

Helix moved my furniture across several states in September 2021, and just did a local move for me as well. The guys work quickly, are careful with my belongings, and are upbeat and friendly. They arrived wearing masks which is appreciated during these times. Prices were very competitive and they worked quickly on my local move, which was billed by time. They were also very conscientious about making sure all of my things ended up in the right location, so unpacking was easy. I highly recommend Helix and will absolutely call them again for my next move!

We recently moved from DC to Chicago and we were very pleased with our experience with Helix. They were very transparent with costs so we had no surprises, the movers were fast, efficient, and careful with everything. Working with Helix definitely reduced the stress of our cross country move, I’d suggest them to anyone, very thankful for all of their hard work! We used Helix Transfer and Storage for our move from DC to New York City and it was a great experience. Management was very responsive to our inquiries leading up to the move, and on the move days the movers (Jose, Manny, Eliot, and Marco) were quick, careful and professional! Jose was the foreman and did a great job coordinating the move, even with some unorthodox components (e.g., loading belongings from both an apartment and a U-Haul truck), difficult New York roads and traffic, and a delay on our end that resulted in the move crew reaching our destination before we did. Overall, I would use Helix again and I would highly recommend them.

Helix was great. In every way. From the planning, with Peter, the pricing, and accommodating our needs.

Our move actually needed two days: one to move everything out, and take a half a truck of furniture and stuff to the donation center, then moved everything in the next day, and took more stuff to a different donation center.

Two different teams with 2 different team leads.

1st crew - Jonis , Junior,Many,Markus,Edwin, and

Davis-he was particularly helpful.

2nd crew - Vasko-he was excellent, Many,Eduardo,Berkam,Edwin

They all wrapped up and padded and carried everything carefully. Then set up and cleaned up.

Everyone was hustling but very careful, and very professional.

I highly recommend them for any move.

Hired Helix T&S to help unload our POD after a long distance move. Jose and Marco did a great job helping us unload our POD into a two story row home in Bloomingdale. They worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done. Only thing keeping this from five stars was that they moved so quickly, sometimes they didn't always take the best care, hitting doors and corners. Jose seemed to be very experienced and knew what he was doing, Marco was good, but didn't always know how to handle angles with large pieces of furniture. That being said, we had two very large pieces that needed to go upstairs on a steep turn at the top of the stairwell, and eventually they were able to get it up. Overall would recommend!

We had a terrific experience with Helix, among the best we’ve had in 12 interstate moves. Helix’s pricing offered a great value in a highly competitive marketplace. Move over, David Copperfield! Jorge and Elvin made an entire apartment full of stuff disappear like magic -- and it wasn't an illusion, it was real! They are total pros. I was very impressed with their organization and efficiency. They were fast, but careful. All the furniture was wrapped well. I had underestimated the number of boxes and forgot a piece of furniture or two, but Jorge was very clear in explaining how that increased the cubic footage/cost, and the $ difference did not amount to much. FYI this was a move from Pittsburgh to storage in DC. Arranging the move in advance was very smooth as well thanks to Peter. Five stars all the way!
