Gulf Stream Van Lines

You quote people a price you know it won't end up being to get people to commit to your business. You take 3 inventories...none of them were right. Less than a week out from the move, you call and try to get another 750 dollars above your quote. When I, rightfully so, feel swindled and baited...you put Greg Johnson in front of me. This guy should be fired IMMEDIATELY. He was the one who tried to smooth over his representative Phillip's, ridiculously low estimate and then the anger I have when less than a week before my move...you call asking for more money. I refuse and you just say fine we'll be there.

"We'll be there"...doesn't mean Gulf Stream Van Lines...it's an unprofessional group in a rag tag van called "SuperMove USA". Who then tells me they can't move me unless i pay $1500 more AT PICKUP...and then another $1500 more at delivery. That's a 3k mark up over what the, "estimate" was.

So basically...Phillip said whatever he needed to, to get me to commit to your business. Then Greg Johnson tries to cover Phillip's mistakes and smooth it over with me. Greg Johnson then gaslights you and says while he's asking you for an additional 750, (which that wouldn't have covered it either), that you should've known better essentially. What? Known that is how Gulf Stream does business?

Greg Johnson also quotes you $120 for a storage unit...(if you talk to SuperMove USA he had no right or ability to do so), which means he probably made some sweet commissions swindling me there as well! Got me to cancel the storage unit i already had in place for 150 per month. Funny thing about that? I go to make a payment on the sweet deal I got from Greg Johnson......yeah...the storage unit cost was $450.

So now I have to go rent a UHAUL, LOL should've done that in the first place and saved myself the robbery and headache...rent a uhaul to pull my stuff from SuperMove USA and re-store my stuff. So more expense out of my pocket.

Greg Johnson is an embarrassment to your company. The fact you allow an infant child to handle customer relations speaks to the lack of character and quality to your organization. For me to call Greg and to be screamed at and hung up when, 1) He and Phillip knew all along what my budget was. I made that very clear...and they acted like that was realistic, 2) you quote me on a storage unit you had according to the 3rd party I was pushed off to, and its triple what you quoted as well, and 3) try and gaslight himself into being the victim when i simply call to ask why you quoted and sold a storage unit you had no right to...?

Oh by the way Greg Johnson...i hope your bosses read all of this. Greg....i asked for your title. I asked for Phillip's full name and title and you refused to give it. Why is that Greg? Is it because you know what you do is deceptive and bait and switch? Afraid of your bosses catching wind of all this?

Or is this how you're told to operate by your higher-ups? Get the sale. Get the commitment.

I contacted you at the beginning of September. You easily could've said at any point...yeah...no way we can hit $2500. This move cost me $5500. You knew through the tones of the conversation that if you had said that, i would've looked at other options. But again...that's why you waited until less than a week before my move date to ask me for more money.

Your entire company disgusts me. I've contacted the better business bureau. If anyone from upper management cares one bit...you can contact me. But seeing as I've called you and i get no response...The BBB and a lawyer will be the next steps.

Thanks for nothing. I now have to spend an off day going to pick up my **** so I don't have to pay you people another dime that at this point, we've flat out lied and stole from me.

Also...any damage to my things from the 3rd party you sent instead of your own representatives...ill be digging into that as well.

Don't do business with these people. UHAUL, pods, whatever you need to avoid these liars.

this company is shady as fu..

I wish I would have read some reviews before letting them con me into using them, they lie from beginning to end, they are not an actual moving company, they get your online request and have at least two other second and third parties involved and that’s how they scam you, they told me that they were the actual moving company, when in reality they are just a broker, which then hands you off to some other shady companies, they quote you one price ask for a down payment and than the movers show up and say that it was just a quote even though they make you sign the quote contract, when the movers show up they find a million ways to charge you extra on top of what was quoted, they have so many tricks up their sleeves, my quote was for $2400 by the time my items finally arrived, they changed me almost another $3000

they told me I was allowed to have at least 37 boxes the movers showed up and said my medium boxes were large and would need more space, my medium size kitchen table was now large, they charge for stairs, they charged me an extra $300 for having to take unload my furniture from their large truck to a van to transport it to my house because their truck “ was too big for my neighborhood “ then the drivers “forgot one of my most expensive box of items in his truck “ until I called him out on it.

there’s so much more to complain about but I don’t have the patience.

long story short, if you have a choice do not use this company whatsoever, they are a gang os scammers, If you are an actual moving company there should not be a second or third party involved who can consistently charge whatever they want while holding your belongings hostage.

this is wrong I will also be writing to D.O.T as well as the BBB. scammers DO NOT USE G.S Van lines and their cronies all moving relocation

they definitely will scam you out of thousands of dollars.

We had fantastic door-to-door moving service and this team at Gulf Stream Van Lines for our local move from a 3rd story apartment to a house. Before the move, the customer service rep talked with me on the phone and put together an accurate moving plan. On move day, the team did a great job moving everything. In particular, I liked that the team took care of wrapping furniture, boxing TVs, and figuring out how to move a bunch of random fragile stuff. I didn't see any damage to any items or properties. The rates were reasonable and a great fit for someone moving locally who'd like a friendly team with great service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

I will never use this company again . I told them exactly what I had . A bedroom set to be moved . I was told I was below minimum. I could add 15 boxes . At time of pickup they wanted an extra $500. I was so angry that I told them not to move my stuff and I was ok with losing my $600 deposit. They ended up backing down and taking my things for the price that I had signed for. Unbelievable. And customer service was just as bad . In My opinion the movers tried to rip me off and customer service was worthless.
