You quote people a price you know it won't end up being to get people to commit to your business. You take 3 inventories...none of them were right. Less than a week out from the move, you call and try to get another 750 dollars above your quote. When I, rightfully so, feel swindled and baited...you put Greg Johnson in front of me. This guy should be fired IMMEDIATELY. He was the one who tried to smooth over his representative Phillip's, ridiculously low estimate and then the anger I have when less than a week before my move...you call asking for more money. I refuse and you just say fine we'll be there.

"We'll be there"...doesn't mean Gulf Stream Van Lines...it's an unprofessional group in a rag tag van called "SuperMove USA". Who then tells me they can't move me unless i pay $1500 more AT PICKUP...and then another $1500 more at delivery. That's a 3k mark up over what the, "estimate" was.

So basically...Phillip said whatever he needed to, to get me to commit to your business. Then Greg Johnson tries to cover Phillip's mistakes and smooth it over with me. Greg Johnson then gaslights you and says while he's asking you for an additional 750, (which that wouldn't have covered it either), that you should've known better essentially. What? Known that is how Gulf Stream does business?

Greg Johnson also quotes you $120 for a storage unit...(if you talk to SuperMove USA he had no right or ability to do so), which means he probably made some sweet commissions swindling me there as well! Got me to cancel the storage unit i already had in place for 150 per month. Funny thing about that? I go to make a payment on the sweet deal I got from Greg Johnson......yeah...the storage unit cost was $450.

So now I have to go rent a UHAUL, LOL should've done that in the first place and saved myself the robbery and headache...rent a uhaul to pull my stuff from SuperMove USA and re-store my stuff. So more expense out of my pocket.

Greg Johnson is an embarrassment to your company. The fact you allow an infant child to handle customer relations speaks to the lack of character and quality to your organization. For me to call Greg and to be screamed at and hung up when, 1) He and Phillip knew all along what my budget was. I made that very clear...and they acted like that was realistic, 2) you quote me on a storage unit you had according to the 3rd party I was pushed off to, and its triple what you quoted as well, and 3) try and gaslight himself into being the victim when i simply call to ask why you quoted and sold a storage unit you had no right to...?

Oh by the way Greg Johnson...i hope your bosses read all of this. Greg....i asked for your title. I asked for Phillip's full name and title and you refused to give it. Why is that Greg? Is it because you know what you do is deceptive and bait and switch? Afraid of your bosses catching wind of all this?

Or is this how you're told to operate by your higher-ups? Get the sale. Get the commitment.

I contacted you at the beginning of September. You easily could've said at any point...yeah...no way we can hit $2500. This move cost me $5500. You knew through the tones of the conversation that if you had said that, i would've looked at other options. But again...that's why you waited until less than a week before my move date to ask me for more money.

Your entire company disgusts me. I've contacted the better business bureau. If anyone from upper management cares one bit...you can contact me. But seeing as I've called you and i get no response...The BBB and a lawyer will be the next steps.

Thanks for nothing. I now have to spend an off day going to pick up my **** so I don't have to pay you people another dime that at this point, we've flat out lied and stole from me.

Also...any damage to my things from the 3rd party you sent instead of your own representatives...ill be digging into that as well.

Don't do business with these people. UHAUL, pods, whatever you need to avoid these liars.

this company is shady as fu..

I wish I would have read some reviews before letting them con me into using them, they lie from beginning to end, they are not an actual moving company, they get your online request and have at least two other second and third parties involved and that’s how they scam you, they told me that they were the actual moving company, when in reality they are just a broker, which then hands you off to some other shady companies, they quote you one price ask for a down payment and than the movers show up and say that it was just a quote even though they make you sign the quote contract, when the movers show up they find a million ways to charge you extra on top of what was quoted, they have so many tricks up their sleeves, my quote was for $2400 by the time my items finally arrived, they changed me almost another $3000

they told me I was allowed to have at least 37 boxes the movers showed up and said my medium boxes were large and would need more space, my medium size kitchen table was now large, they charge for stairs, they charged me an extra $300 for having to take unload my furniture from their large truck to a van to transport it to my house because their truck “ was too big for my neighborhood “ then the drivers “forgot one of my most expensive box of items in his truck “ until I called him out on it.

there’s so much more to complain about but I don’t have the patience.

long story short, if you have a choice do not use this company whatsoever, they are a gang os scammers, If you are an actual moving company there should not be a second or third party involved who can consistently charge whatever they want while holding your belongings hostage.

this is wrong I will also be writing to D.O.T as well as the BBB. scammers DO NOT USE G.S Van lines and their cronies all moving relocation

We had fantastic door-to-door moving service and this team at Gulf Stream Van Lines for our local move from a 3rd story apartment to a house. Before the move, the customer service rep talked with me on the phone and put together an accurate moving plan. On move day, the team did a great job moving everything. In particular, I liked that the team took care of wrapping furniture, boxing TVs, and figuring out how to move a bunch of random fragile stuff. I didn't see any damage to any items or properties. The rates were reasonable and a great fit for someone moving locally who'd like a friendly team with great service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

I will never use this company again . I told them exactly what I had . A bedroom set to be moved . I was told I was below minimum. I could add 15 boxes . At time of pickup they wanted an extra $500. I was so angry that I told them not to move my stuff and I was ok with losing my $600 deposit. They ended up backing down and taking my things for the price that I had signed for. Unbelievable. And customer service was just as bad . In My opinion the movers tried to rip me off and customer service was worthless.

I am so frustrated with these bad shady people, they just stole my deposit money!

They asked me for a list of items that I was moving and I gave them the list including dimensions and quantities, and they agreed to move my stuff, for the price that I was given, they even made a list of items that I was putting in The truck, but when they show up to my house the driver refused to take my stuff arguing that I didn’t get enough space in the truck, WTF!! So be careful if you want to hire this people because they will tell you that you can put as many things as you want in the truck but the shady part is that they never explain to you how much space they will assign in the truck for your stuff, that way the driver shows up to your house and once he sees your stuff he automatically will refuse to take your load arguing not having enojada space in the truck for your stuff, then you said ok I’m goin to call to get my deposit back and they will fight you over the phone so you don’t get your money back!!

I will never hire these Type of service again I rather move my own stuff on a rental truck is chipper easier and you don’t have to be dealing with bad people!!

I still want my money back and I will do anything to not let these people get away with stilling money from me!!

Do not use this company! I want to share my experience with Gulf Stream. We are a military family and recently our 19 year old daughter passed away unexpectedly. My husband was deployed at the time and had to come home early. After losing our child he put in his retirement papers, and he’s moving the kids and I to be closer to family. We had a mover set up who saw everything in our house and he told us he’d move us for $3200. Gulf Stream said they’d price match and that they were accredited unlike the other guy we had originally planned on using. He assured us that the price wouldn’t change, so my husband gave Gulf Stream a check for $1891. The movers showed up late due to the truck breaking down, and when they showed up the guy told my husband it would be $9,000, we don’t even have that much stuff, we aren’t keeping everything. I then spoke to the mover’s boss and when I told him what we were taking, he said they’d move it and they thought we were taking everything in the house. About 30 minutes later the mover that was at our house said they couldn’t do the move because there was too much stuff. I told him I just spoke to his boss and explained that we weren’t moving all of our stuff and he just said, “I don’t know, maybe tomorrow” what does that even mean? I called Gulf Stream crying because I had been packing family photos and then this awful situation with the movers happened, and they just said that the $1891 has been paid and it’s non refundable. They never offered to send another moving company out or come look themselves. I can’t believe this company would treat a grieving military family this way. It’s not right.

My 89 yr old grandmother sold her house to move to a condo, and we contracted GS to pick up some family furniture from her in missouri to deliver to us in Illinois. We were told to give a 2 day window to be available for delivery. We did - Thurs/Fri. First we were told “Friday morning,” then Friday night, then Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Monday morning.. and now here we are at Monday morning and NOTHING. Each time we were ready and waiting but had to call the delivery person to ask where he was - he did not call us to say he’d miss the window, he gave us no advance notice that he wouldn’t make it. He missed the window at least 6 or 7 times. Most times he was “still 300 miles away” or “still 2 hours away,” even an hour after expected delivery. Rarely did he answer the phone at all.

At this point I don’t know if he even has my furniture or if he’s stealing it or what the heck is going on. I can’t figure out why he would keep giving us times and missing them. I would not have cared if it took longer than expected, but now we’ve waited around for 5 days expecting a delivery. I’m not sure it will ever come. I’m afraid we’ve lost all the beautiful heirloom furniture from my grandmother’s house, her china, etc.

Do not contract with this business.

I do not recommend this moving company.

My experience of them is a company that will tell you what you want to hear in order to get your business, but then not follow-through in any capacity.

They mis-charged me for the number of stairs in my building and marked my move as "packed by owner" despite assuring me and charging me for a pack & move crew. This lead to extra charges and chaos the day of my move.

Additionally, they assured me that my move would be in a 26-foot truck, as I told them from day 1 a semi would not fit at the delivery location. However, GS van lines then contracted out to a company who used a semi-truck and charged me an extra $500 shuttle fee that I was not told about until 2 days before delivery.

During all of these issues, the original person I spoke to at the company who assured me he would be accessible and helpful throughout my move could not be reached.

I am so disappointed in the quality of service and the honesty of this company. They turned my move into a nightmare, I will never hire them again.

Everyone has highly recommended Gulf Stream Van Lines. I can realize why they are at the top of the moving industry. The movers showed up at my place bright and early, prepared to get to work. Their quickness, cool manner, and expert guidance made a potentially chaotic and stressful move much smoother and flawless. They wrapped and packed all my crockery and appliances in shrink wraps and boxes, laptops and computers in padded boxes, and appliances packed in Styrofoam blocks. Look no further than Gulf Stream Van Lines if you want exceptional movers. I trust them completely; thus, I will gladly refer them to anyone who needs a reliable moving service.

If I could give zero stars I would! Where do I begin…I recently moved to Kansas to be with my long distance boyfriend and move into our first apartment together. Too many previous plans fell through so I decided to hire movers. Then came the searching and a lot of inquiring about prices a lot of them were 2,000-5,000 max so when I talked to Gulf Stream van lines I thought I had the cheapest..I was wrong. The dude had me signing a contract about it and I paid 647 for the down payment. Then I paid an extra 425 for space since I was in the middle of packing up everything. The day comes and I don’t hear from them at all but 4 or 5 hrs later I get a text that there is mechanic issues and the truck is being fixed and it turns out it is scheduled for the next day.

The next day comes and it finally happens but those assholes try to make me pay extra since they didn’t record the 425 I did for extra space. I had to get a manager for it since I showed them proof I paid extra. The dude told me at most it will cost an extra 800 in total including the 425 I just paid. After the dudes were done loading they needed to charge more apparently and not only did they lied about the 3 payments turned out 75% was due and the rest due on delivery. 1600 because according to them I needed to be charged more and that they didn’t want to charge me for stairs the first ones are free in the contract. Originally 1,998 now turned to 3,918. It was double the price estimated and the evidence disappeared after the truck.

We had my boyfriend and a neighbor help to get my stuff since they couldn't fit through apparently. The boxes were in bad condition and some were smashed in they didn’t even take care of my breakables that well either and I lost about 4 items in total I would make a claim but I doubt they care. Next time I’ll save myself the trouble and just do a Uhaul and family and friends. Never hire these people they will tell you one price when it is really another, take forever for your stuff and handle it horribly! I’m never doing business with movers again it was so stressful enough to move states but they made it an ordeal it is really shitty of them to say one price and then do another. Then tell me certain days not another I’m lucky my boyfriend had his neighbor to help they made the move stressful. I’ll never go with movers again next time Pods, Upack or Uhaul and friends and family.

This company subcontracts the moves out. We had ARENA AS OUR MOVERS. We were quoted &3200 by GS and ended up paying $5200 for our move. Arena stated we had more than GS said. Lied about our square footage and items to be moved. Two Asian men came, walked in apartment, took pictures of everything, went to car for a half hour, and demanded more money. Wanted post office check or cash. Our items were to be delivered in 5 days and it took 3 weeks. Missing a few things. Delivery to our storage unit was one guy so we had to help him unload because his coworker was in court. Very shady operation. Avoid them

Their agent alleged his name to be Greg Johnson. He sold us the move for two reasons. One, the farther we book out the cheaper it is. So we set a date in April. My wife and I were both on the phone and he said, “if you need to cancel call me 5 days prior to the move directly at 561-244-8085”. We were concerned and asked again, he said as long as it’s more than 5 days out call me directly and I’ll cancel and get your money refunded. The telephone number he gave us is for a Health Insurance company.

Several weeks ago my Mother-in-law died so our need to move her is gone. So I called GS today and basically we’re out of luck. More grief added to our already overwhelming life. Greg Johnson doesn’t work there. Really? I was told they’ll cancel but no refund. I then asked if we reduce the size of the load can we adjust the price? No, was the answer. This is still over 4 months out so a fee for the time spent, but nothing has moved yet and I believe the trucks will still get a load. Their cancellation policy says 48 hours.

A honest reliable company stands behind what their employees do, and say, even the bad ones. How sad to see our country falling in these traps more than ever. I understand a 10 or 15 percent charge but the entire deposit? Someday the owners and employees of this company are going to help in a bad situation, and I hope God remembers their response from today.

A 70 year old Veteran who needs the money more than ever

We hired Gulf Stream can lines to move a two bedroom apartment from New Jersey to Florida. We were quoted 2300.00 the first time, the when a representative called to confirm, my husband went over every item that would need to be moved, at that time the rep said it would be more due to the space on the truck. He gave us a price of 5938.14 which we were fine with. Once the movers came to the house they tried to charge us and additional 5543.00 which totals 11, 481.80 which of that we put down 3,132.00. The mover asked if we wanted to transport some of our things since the broker provided them the incorrect information and I said no we need all of our things moved, however we provided Michael Davis all the items being moved and now you want to move only half our items if we don’t pay and additional 5000.00. We declined and later was told they will be keeping our deposit. This is absolutely ridiculous and bad business. We have seen many cases where this company has provided inaccurate information and then the movers attempt to collect more if you don’t pay they will keep your deposit. They are ripping people off and it’s not right! Review this business before you become the next victim. Lily is horrible and rude, she thinks keeping thousands of dollars is funny because they are incapable for collecting inventory. I would rate Zero stars if I could! The company have many reviews with the same issue on the better business bureau! They are horrible

I was quoted a price I was told for a private 26FT moving truck. Five days before scheduled move turns out they lied and I was quoted for 8 ft on a moving truck with others. They wanted double the price now and so I canceled. They would not give me back my 1,069 deposit because I canceled five days before the move. Claiming I was out of the refundable time yet they called me five days before the move to change the terms and conditions of the move themselves not me. Very corrupt and it’s shows how bad America is now that this company is still operating and scamming people.

Booked with them Wednesday January 17 around 10:30am. Needed to move property from my deceased father's home to our home several states away and didn't need this to happen until the end of February. Was reassured by Jen Ryan that I had 48 hours to cancel. Later that day I read enough horrible reviews calling this company "Scam Artists" and "Crooks" that I became very alarmed and sent an email toJen saying I wanted to cancel and get a refund. Today I was told by their very aggressive manager that they had booked a carrier and I didn't qualify for the refund. When I asked to speak with Jen Ryan, I was told that I wasn't allowed to speak with anyone else. There is no proof (time stamp, receipt) of them actually booking a carrier more than a month in advance of our needing to move. They are keeping $1,134.00 and have done NOTHING. This is fraud! They eesentially have our routing number and account number and have stolen our money. I have contacted our bank to dispute the transaction. My bank is now investigating them. Basically GulfStream says you have 48 hours to cancel and get a refund but actually there is no legitimate canceling with them because they can claim they have already disatched a carrier (6 weeks in advance) and therefore you forfeit your money. I would be happy to reconsider this review if they would simply do the right thing and refund my money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
