Long-distance move from Yellowknife, NT to Montreal, QC

Move from Yellowknife to Montreal

I was impressed throughout the move - all aspects, from packing to loading to transport, to communication, to unloading. Harman and Balraj were pleasant, efficient, professional while unloading - even at the end of a very long day for them - and obviously knew their job. I would use GCVL if I need to move again.

Long-distance move from Victoria, BC to Halifax, NS

Moved Coast to Coast

We moved in July from BC to Nova Scotia. We checked a few moving companies out and decided to give this one a try. We are so happy we did! They were incredible. The communication with the office and our driver, Daniel, was fantastic. Everything arrived when we expected it to and all our belongings, almost 10k pounds including a Harley motorcycle and a $3000 kayak, arrived in perfect condition. It is unbelievable! The movers on both ends did a great job of loading and unloading the truck. It was nice having them do all the heavy lifting! Daniel was incredible and was so accommodating, we owe him so much. We would definitely recommend this company and ask for Daniel!

Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Damage to property.

The move from my home in Calgary to Victoria, BC was a disaster from the beginning. A glass dining room light fixture was broken beyond repair. I was informed to make a claim by the moving supervisor.
I had asked that my property be stored in Victoria until I had found a permanent place to live. Apparently, A to B Moving in Victoria were the delivery agent, and responsible for the storage arrangements. My property was finally delivered to my new home, in Sidney, BC on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016.
Upon delivery, this is what was discovered:
Approximately half of the cardboard boxes were punctured or bashed inwards. Some of the boxes suffered water damage; delivered wet.
The underside of a couch was torn open.
The top of a pine dresser was dented in many places; the draw fronts scuffed on the sides.
The leg of a (round) table was split open.
A bedroom side table, part of a new very expensive bedroom set, was scuffed on one corner. The front edge of another matching table was damaged.
A living room end table was damaged
The top of a hand-built worktable was damaged.
A broom head was missing, unscrewed from its handle and presumed stolen.
All damage was photographed, and recorded.
To be fair, the damaged furniture was repaired, and paid for, by the moving company, except the work table and the round table. Great Canadian Van lines offered to pay half of the replacement cost of the destroyed light fixture, a sum of $212.19. I had compensated the new owners of my home for the sum of $300.00. I received a cheque for this sum from Great Canadian Van Lines.
In conclusion: The sheer scale of the damage indicates deplorable negligence, incompetence, and a total disregard for other peoples’ property. In short, an absolute disgrace.

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Effortless cross country move

Let’s be honest—moving is stressful, especially when you’re relocating across the country. If you want reliable, top-notch service from beginning to end, I highly recommend Great Canadian Van Lines.

I initially searched online for long-distance moving companies in Canada and received several quotes—some surprisingly low. But be cautious: many of those quotes don’t reflect the real cost. It wasn’t until I spoke with Candace at GCVL that I finally got an honest, transparent breakdown of what to expect. Their pricing was very fair.

When Wade and his team showed up, they made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Their professionalism, kindness, and even shared laughs really put me at ease—I knew my personal belongings were in good hands.

I moved from Ontario to BC, and they were communicative, punctual, and efficient. Even the delivery went off without a hitch, and I didn’t need to be there in person.

Don’t waste your time looking elsewhere. GCVL is a Canadian company that truly understands how to make a big move feel simple. From my first call to the final delivery, they focused on making the process easy and cost-effective. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

Thank you for everything Wade & team, Candace and staff at GCVL.

Cheers, Mary

Long-distance move from Sherwood Park, AB to Surrey, BC

Great experiences moving (twice)

Great Canadian just moved me for a second time. The first time, I was referred by a colleague who was happy with their own expeirence with Great Canadian. The service was professional and courteous from the initial call, to pick up and delivery. And when my schedule changed, Great Canadian was quick to respond and accomodated my schedule (thankfully). If my stuff could talk, I think it would say it was babied all the way. If only airlines were as great to work with as Great Canadian!

Long-distance move from Vancouver, BC to Saint John, NB

Moved from Vancouver, BC to Saint John, NB

My moving experience, at both ends of the move was first rate. The team in Vancouver had a big job moving my contents down 30 stairs (I moved down as much as I could manage) and they were fabulous! My move-in at the other end was very smooth and efficient (and there was an elevator!!). The company was highly recommended by two very close friends and they did not disappoint. Well done, team!

Fantastic move

I’d give 6 stars if I could.

Eddie and his team were fast, friendly, professional, and handled all my items with care.

Not only did he show up early in both my locations for my move out and move in, but he finished early as well. He went above and beyond in every way.

I especially appreciated how he took the time to carefully wrap our more delicate pieces items. Not a single one of them was damaged.

Overall, this is the way moving should be done.

Thank you again, Eddie!

Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

3 bedroom house move

This is the 2nd time we have used Great Canadian Van Lines, and once again we were very happy with the professionalism, from booking the move to the final drop off of our furniture. Yad & Jas were quick, efficient, and everything arrived in perfect order (as did our first move with GCVL). The company was easy to communicate with and I had answers to any questions within minutes. Cost to move from Alberta to BC was roughly $8000 - again, less than I expected. Highly recommend this moving company, and thanks to Yad and Jas for climbing all those stairs in our new home!

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Ontario

BC to Ontario

Could not have asked for my move across the provinces to go any better. I dealt with 5 star people!! ...from the initial consultation with Candace to the actual moving of boxes with Steve. Candace was exceptionally supportive/informative/caring and she is one of the main reasons I chose GCVL. You're smart to have her on the front lines! In regards to Steve, both the day of the move plus the arrival of my belongings, he lead his crew smoothly with punctuality, quiet efficiency, and caring support of my furniture & me too ....all which took so much stress off me. I can't tell you how much I appreciated having Steve on both ends of my actual move. ALL my belongings arrived safely! Highly recommend.
