Gouffon Moving & Storage

It is apparent when you work with their moving crews (and I have worked with 3..so far) that Gouffon has very tough hiring practices..they hire only the best.  These guys are really good at what they do and are also good at beng warm, conversational and friendly..something you don't find with many other moving company crews (and I should know:  we've moved 14 other times in our careers).   Never have we had any problems with Gouffon.  In fact we have had good suggestions from them before, during and after the moves. I suggest Gouffon to others and will continue to do so.  In fact I have just asked them, and received, an estimate for a cross-state move that, hopefully, will happen within a month or two.

Guffon Moving and Storage stayed in constant communication with me through out my move.  Blake, Chris and Connie were always very friendly and answered any questions that I had.  I was picked up in Tennessee at the exact time I was quoted and handled my belongings very carefully.  Connie called me two days before my delivery to give me an ETA on my delivery.  Again, right on time.  Keith and his helper were very professional in setting up my furniture exactly where I wanted it and before leaving asked if they could do anything else for me.  If I should ever move again, I would use Gouffon again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well established moving company.  My thanks to Chris, Blake, Connie and Keith for a happy move.                                                                      Jim Nugent.

I had never moved to another area of the state, much less to another state entirely.  But this time I was moving 500 miles away to Maryland.  From the start, everyone I spoke with at Gouffon Moving & Storage was helpful, professional and courteous.  I especially appreciated Chris Kirkland explaining the things to be aware of when considering a moving company.  I will definitely recommend Gouffon to anyone who needs their services and I will use them again for my next move.

We had a very poor experience with Gouffon. With the initial phone conversation they provided an estimate of $2,700. They said upon review it could increase as much as $500 or so. The problems started with their onsite review of our home and storage. They had “software” problems and did not get back to us. They sent someone else out review our home 2(!) days before our move. They called the next day and said it would be $4,300. We were not pleased and after several phone conversations they lowered it to $4,000. They said we had many more items than we said and that was the reason for the substantial increase. We told them you have us over a barrel. What are we supposed to do 2 days before our move. They said the move was so large it would take 3 trucks and 6 men. On the day of the move they showed up with 2 trucks and 5 men. The men were very good at loading. They eventually traded a full truck for an empty one when “they found another driver”. At the end of the day, the third truck was only half full. Unloading the next day was a disaster we are still paying for. They sent only 4 men that could unload. One worker could only drive. Late in the afternoon, they sent 2 more workers. By then it had begun to rain and many of our items got wet. Despite the boxes/items being marked with the rooms to go into, many boxes/items were put in incorrect areas. The attic and our storage areas were not utilized properly and they said “we were running out of room”. I personally restocked one of our storage areas and created more room for them. The attic space was about half utilized. We learned their supervisor came on site that day, but he did not have the courtesy to speak to us. I can see why, we only spent $4000 with them. All in all a very poor experience. Their movers are very good at loading but seemed to be in too big a hurry to get finished to do a good job unloading. Pricing process was like being put in handcuffs. I would never use them again.

We just moved last week from an apartment to a house. The moving started late due to truck problems. (Seems to be a consistent problem for them) Moving team at my apartment had nothing to do, once they prepped our furniture. While I had communicated that we had a storage facility to be moved and the new home had a steep hill no one communicated this to the team. I had been assured someone would evaluate moving site, never happened until day of move. The failure to communicate accurate information to moving team delayed move significantly as it took about two hours to sort everything out and evaluate uphill driveway. This delay affected our timeline in completing our move. I would recommend this company despite being some what expensive and being marred by poor coordination between sales team and movers. Despite everything team was professional in the face of obstacles presented and strove to meet our needs. If not for delays and general confusion would have gotten a higher rating.

I can't say enough good things about this moving company. From the first phone call setting it up to the last piece of furniture moved it went so smoothly and I was really pleased with the young men that actually did the moving each one eas very courteous and careful with my things and even though it took the whole day they never seemed rushed and each young man was just so sweet. I would recommend this company to everyone and I have. It was a good easy moving experience at such a stressful time for me and I appreciate all their hard courteous work.

Have used Gouffon Moving several times over the last 6 years. Just used them again a few weeks ago and it really rough. The quotation and pricing was high pressure and uncomfortable. The movers hurried through the move and were trying to finish as quickly as possible. Not in a good way. Furniture was nicked, glass broken and walls and door jams have numerous gouges and missing paint. Company never called me about broken glass door. I called several days ago and they put me on hold and said someone would call me back. Needless to say, no call back. This company was a good mover a while back, but they suffered a significant customer service failure this time. The service level, communication, personnel quality all have degraded. I would have been better with 2 Men and a Trailer.

The first time I used Gouffon, I was really pleased with them. So I used them again for my move on November 1, 2019. While the movers were friendly and on time, they didn't take very good care of of my furniture. They didn't wrap it at all, like my first move. As a result, my mattress and box spring were filthy, one of my book cases was destroyed, and one of the drawers of my chest of drawers was broken. They claimed the front of the drawer "fell off", but in trying to fix it later, I found the entire drawer to be crushed beyond repair. They couldn't get their truck up to my new place, so I was trying to cut them some slack. But I keep finding Nick's and scratches and chunks of wood missing from my furniture, and I'm really upset about the lack of care they took. They seemed a lot more concerned about getting the job done quickly than doing it right.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!! Movers Jon Morgan, Quentin and Kyron were excellent! They arrived at prearranged time. They had to move furniture, etc. from a 2 bedroom condo and a one bedroom apartment and deliver part of the items to another house and the rest to a storage unit. At the condo and the apartment they asked to be shown the items to be moved by them to storage and the items to be dropped off at another house and put them on last. They were polite and considerate. They worked well as a team. I made them aware of my items that were antiques although that was probably not necessary because they used extreme care with all of our possessions. I was impressed with their moving knowledge as to what was the best procedure to move things onto the van to make best use of available space in the van. I realize they do this all the time, but I have not had this experience with other moving companies. They also realized how to make the best use of their time to avoid costing us more for the move when we asked if something in the move would work better and they explained why another option would cost us less money. We really appreciated this! As I said our experience with your company and our movers Jon Morgan, Quentin and Kryon was extremely positive. We will use Gouffon when we move our things out of storage. We will definitely recommend Gouffon to anyone planning to move.?

I was very pleased with Gouffon Moving and Storage. I liked that they did not require a 3 or 4 hour minimum job, or require a deposit. The only thing I did not like, is that I could not get any type of time frame until the day before, which made it kind of hard to plan when friends offered to help. Even though it was a hot, humid day, Lennox and La Derious worked hard and got the job done in three hours. They were very polite and worked well together and stacked the boxes in a neat fashion. I would highly recommend Gouffon and would use again for my next move.

I just had a great move with the Gouffon crew members Chase, Lennox and Jared. These guys were awesome, they took special care of all my items and they worked really hard and got the job done in no time. They all had great attitudes and you could tell they enjoyed the work. They are a SuperHero team and I will be booking all my future moves with Gouffon. Blake was especially attentive when booking the move to make sure the pricing was right and he was flexible with my move dates. Bravo and thanks again to the Gouffon team!

Jake and Art did a great job loading up our boxes, furniture, and household goods in Aiken, SC. They were friendly, thorough, efficient, worked quickly but safely, and kept us informed of what they were doing as they loaded. Jake, Art, and Jared did a great job unloading our things in Knoxville, TN. Once again, they were efficient, worked hard getting our things put where we wanted them, were patient with the many decisions I made, laughed and seemed to enjoy their job. I would use Gouffon again if I needed a mover.
