Long-distance move from Georgia to Florida

Worst Experience EVER.

I have lived through five professional moves in my career. This one was from Georgia to Florida. They picked up (& packed) my belongings on June 10. They cracked my 54” TV, the severely dented the dresser in an expensive bedroom suite, broke my sewing machine cabinet, broke several grasses to hanging artwork & destroyed some dishes. THE WORST PART, I’m still missing four boxes they have at their warehouse (it is August 3 today). Plus they lost the hardware to reassemble my bedroom suite so I am STILL SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR! I have never had this bad of a move.

Long-distance move from Ohio to North Carolina

Best service yet from movers.

I had to leave Cleveland in one day and next day I had to arrive in Charlotte. I inquired 10 different movers but nobody was available on such a short notice. But Best movers of America did in just less than 24 Hours of notice and they not only packed the stuff professionally but delivered to me in excellent condition and within timeline. I have saved their number in my contact and I will be using their services over and over again.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to Indiana

Poor customer service and rude operator.

I was given an estimate of 1200$ and the quote showed that the weight will be around 2000 lbs based in the items list which I provided.I called customer care operator and told him that my stuff won't be 2000lbs and asked whether the cost is calculated per lb. he said it's calculated based on cubic feet. I said that the volume also will be less as I wont have much stuff. The total worth of items will be around 1500$ and the weight will be less than half of the weight they quoted. Then he asked me how much you will offer then I said that I can offer half the amount as the weight /volume is less than half they quoted. Then the operator WENT VERY RUDE AND SAID GO AND PUT YOUR STUFF IN GARBAGE. He don't know how to handle with customer. Very disappointed.

Long-distance move from Nashville, TN to Harker Heights, TX

Worst Company Ever.

This company is a scam!!Do not use them! They told me that they could have my items picked up for $1597 once they arrived and loaded my items the priced changed to $3297. I was bullied into paying 70% down because they said they would not give me a move date until I paid the down payment! They also Ashley told me that my delivery date would be May 27. I called on May 26 and spoke with Donna she said call back Tuesday the have your items delivered by the end of the month. Called on Tuesday office is on vacation. Call on Wednesday May 31st, still on delivery date and to call in Thursday! This has been the worst and most stressful move I have ever had!

Long-distance move from Louisville, KY to Gainesville, FL

Best Movers of America - worst ever!

Delivery was the last possible day of delivery promised at the very end of the day. Finding cash last minute to pay the movers was a big problem as there was no advance notice to us. They unpacked and quickly left WITHOUT PUTTING TOGETHER ANY OF THE FURNITURE they had taken apart: bed, desk, tables, chairs. (Promised in the contract)

Upon unpacking we found they had used NO PACKING MATERIALS to wrap items - just put into boxes randomly. Lamp shades all crushed and many items broken. No outside labelling to assist us with unpacking.

A smaller but unsettling point: the salesperson I spoke with assured us that delivery would be within a week of the pick up date. We spoke at length as the purchase of plane tickets to meet and unpack was needed. LIES! And yes - the small print of the contract did reveal that a week was actually up to 10 days, excluding weekends and holidays AND that "unforeseen circumstances" could cause additional delays and they were not responsible for this in any way. No specified circumstances.

BUYER BEWARE! I have moved within states and across states and across the country and THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Long-distance move from Beverly Hills, FL to Astoria, NY

Total Breach of Contract.

Movers finally showed up on my move out day 2 hours late. Then the way they packed my items resulted in the use of 1/3 more space than quoted. The driver voided my quote and charged me nearly double the original agreed to cost. Delivery was to take place on Monday, as I began my new job in another state on Tuesday. All my clothing, kitchenware, and bed were on the truck. No one at the office would contact me, and the driver refused to answer as well. At 8 PM delivery date, I finally reached someone in the dispatch area that told me my items were still in the home state. Now I had to borrow a first-day outfit from a friend, go shopping for office attire, eat takeout, park, drive, and take time from other things I had been scheduled to do to change state residence to continue to eat and work. Delivery was expected five days ago and still no word on where my items are or any calls back from multiple voicemails left.

Distrustful. Bad Business.

I would like to highly discourage you from choosing this company to be your moving company. This is a company that will say what they need to, to make a sale, then do what they can to squeeze more money out of you.

They are..

-Distrustful (taking advantage of the fact that you need to get your items back to charge more fees)

-Rude

-Unreliable

-Negligent

And made my standard one-bedroom move more stressful than it needed to be.

**Still waiting on a company reply for my lost item**

At this point, it is laughable the experience that I had, but at the time it was infuriating. Fernando and Donna both assured me that my items would be delivered on the 10th. It was not until the 3rd time I called on the 10th that they told me my items were still at their warehouse location in Florida, which was also my pick-up location. They informed me that I would get a call a day before and then an hour before. It was not until a week later, on the 17th that my items were delivered. It was an enormous truck that had my belongings along with the belongings of strangers all shoved into the truck. When I was deciding on a moving company this is something Fernando assured me wouldn't happen. One of the many lies I was told for a sale. Because the truck they chose to deliver my items was so big they want to charge me an excess shuttle fee, even though there were no restrictions in my area for trucks.

From the very beginning, Aaron, the driver, was complaining, negative, and rude. He also was trying to pay movers that were moving another resident in the apartments to help him because he was sent by himself. He had me stand by the truck to make sure my things didn't get stolen. HA, how unprofessional. He tried to refuse to assemble my furniture because I refused to pay the long carry fee he was trying to add.

When I spoke to the manager, David, about a missing item I had he called me a liar. But told me that I would be getting a call Monday about the claim. I have sent multiple emails and have called over and over again and they still have not started a claim for my lost item.

There is so much more but this is long enough. In short, steer clear. Better Business Bureau should investigate.

No Good.

They took a payment of 297$ after telling me the reservation was free and I found a copy of a contract that was not signed or authorized and are now refusing to give me my money back.

Misrepresented total charges and method of changing.

Was told charges would be on weight. After loading my possessions, was told would be charged extra $700 based on volume of the load on the truck. This was WELL over the legal amount for overages of 10% (original quote was $2955 .. see https://www.protectyourmove.gov/consumer/awareness/rights/RightsD.htm for the legal moving rights info). Also, they are legally required to revised the estimate PRIOR to loaded if they are going to revise, but they revised AFTER loading, effectively having my possessions as hostage. They showed up very late, which meant that the customer service folks in the main office had gone home by the time these extra charges were demanded. The company refused to provide a weigh bill and refused to acknowledge original billing method that I was repeatedly assured would be the method. In follow-up conversations with customer service, when they FINALLY returned my calls two weeks later, they were rude, argumentative and blatently dishonest (claiming simultaneously that I was given revised estimate prior to loading while also claiming that the volume was guaged by lines inside the truck after loading). They would literally scream over me when I wanted to rebut what they were saying. The rep cursed at me even. They were clearly trying to intimidate me into dropping it, to the point of threatening to sue me when I said I would be posting negative reviews of them online.
