Long-distance move from Rumson, NJ to Jupiter, FL

What a pleasure!

My family just moved from NJ to FL and with limited time to arrange a moving company was referred to Good Greek. I am so thankful for this recommendation because not only was the move THOUSANDS less than the other quotes I got, but the service that Andy and Jr (my crew) provided was AWESOME. After watching them work to load up my belongings, I requested them for the delivery too. They took great care of us and was really helpful at delivery. Thank you GOOD GREEK!

Long-distance move from Florida to Delaware

Moving horror

This was by far the worst move I have ever experienced, and I have moved a total of 17 times!

1. They were 3 hours outside the arrival time promised

2. The crew were not experienced and had NO idea how to move furniture. I had to remind them to wrap my dining rooms chairs and other pieces. They were extremely slow and had to be told what to do

3. Wardrobe boxes were brought but had no rails so the crew decided to just roll up the clothes and throw them into the box until we told them to stop. I took all of my hanging clothes in the back seat of my car.

4. They did not pack the truck well, were disorganized, and many items were left behind. We had to return the next day with another truck and pack them ourselves

5. When we reached the new house they just put boxes wherever they felt like and I had to instruct them to move them to the correct rooms, including placing boxes for the garage into the kitchen

6. One of the mattresses is filthy (it was brand new 2 months prior to the move) and I have now had to purchase a cover for it

In summary - NEVER use this company they are awful.

AVOID them!

I had such a bad experience with them I don't even know where to begin. Nightmare is the best way to describe my move. But the original presentation to get your business is nice and you assume you are working with a nice company. WRONG! Here are my issues:

1. One of their advertisements is that you don't have to pack your drawers, they will saran wrap everything so you don't have too. the salesman even told us that when he did our estimate But then when the actual crew showed up they said the drawers are too full and they threw things randomly into boxes and didnt't mark them so I don't know where anything is. And to make things worse- they put OTHER things in the drawers that weren't there to begin with like empty boxes and books. I had ALL Of my work stuff in my desk drawers and now I can't find any of it. they took it all out and put other things in the drawers. I am hoping it is somewhere in one of the boxes but for all i know they threw it away.

2. they sent a truck that was too small for my belongings and we had to wait for a second truck to come. they were packing me from 9:30am until almost 5pm and THEN wanted to make the 3 hour drive to my new home and unpack that night. So it would have been probably midnight before they were done. I said no, they had to come the next day. This leads me to issue 3:

3. They were in a rush and VERY sloppy unpacking my items. I have a tv with a gouge in it, the stand on my kitchen table is upside down, drawers on my desk are broken and boxes were thrown everywhere. I had all my boxes marked by room, but things marked "garage" were inside the house and almost all my boxes marked "fragile, This side up" (with arrows no less) were thrown upside down in the garage. So I also now have shattered candles and china.

4. Since they decided to rearrange my drawers I can not find ANY of my tv remotes and I am missing power cords and other everyday items that had all been put together so important stuff could be unpacked first.

5. They broke my TV stand taking it apart and tried to play it off as "oh it was falling apart" which I don't believe.

6. I expressed to the original salesman that i was frustrated and annoyed with how things were going and he got an attitude and yelled at me and kept saying he was "trying to help", but he wasn't even doing anything. Its funny now nice people are when they want you to sign a contract and then their personality does a 180.

7 the kicker was I left my old home as they were finishing up the garage and I guess after I left, they just decided to be done bc they left stuff behind AND left such a mess in the garage and down the driveway that i was fined by the new owners. And it was stuff like empty and spilled bottles and food.

the whole "no need to pack your drawers" line is a lie. If they had said ahead of time to pack up drawers instead of claiming they would just wrap them up, i would know where stuff that I NEED actually is instead of having to open random boxes hoping to find things and the majority of my issues would have been avoided. . I tried to do everything I possibly could to make my move easier and they turned it into a total nightmare.

I would like to add, they were only hired for the move, not for packing. i had everything already packed, in labeled boxes to make unpacking easier. the import and everyday items were in my dresser drawers ONLY bc of their claim that you didn't have to pack drawers. So it wasn't like I wanted them to pack boxes for me, i just wanted them to move everything. I understand I had a lot of boxes, but they were all grouped together, clearly labeled, AND the original salesman saw all of them.

I have no clue what all is missing bc they mixed all the stuff together so much. It is absolutely ridiculous. AVOID them at all costs.

The Good Greek moving company was recommended by a friend of mine, and I will say how impressed and satisfied my wife and I were with the whole experience, all our belongings were carefully handled both on the load up and drop off. The gentlemen were very friendly and helpful. The associates in the office were accurate and accommodating setting everything up. Top class organization. I will be recommending with full confidence.

Local move from Spring Hill, FL to Brooksville, FL

Our move by Good Greek movers

First of all, we are almost 80 years old. Good Greek movers sent Jessica out to give us an estimate of how much it would cost to move everything. Paid half of the $2300 that night. That was more than I have ever paid, but hey, they were moving almost everything. 2 sheds and the house. After they left, we came back to the old house…….stuff from walls, laying all over floor. Truck was not full. Packing, they took every single thing, turned it upside down on a blanket. Things fell out of the drawers. Still don’t know what is missing. But once I started trying to open drawers. Wouldn’t open. Things were stuck. So besides the move and unpacking I had to clean out every drawer. Then an invasion of privacy. No one mentioned we won’t take Guns…..the guy riffles through my underwear drawer. Comes out holding the gun and says there’s a gun in there. We don’t move them. If he’d of asked. I’d have removed it. Then they couldn’t move plants….not going over state lines. Just about 10 miles up the road. As it was, for the next week, we had to pack our babies car 2 and 3 times a day, our neighbors took 3 truck loads over for us and my son had 3 loads in his Jeep. I paid out $2300 and still had to move all this. Then one night we were in bed, all of a sudden hear this crash. First thing I did was reach for my husband to make sure it wasn’t him that got up and fell. It wasn’t. We have a coffee table they had been flipping around for the packing. The bottom fell out. The coo coo clock my husband had paid almost $1,000 for several years ago and now worth $2,400 was over wound. My husband told the guy to not touch the clock that he had a special padded box just for the coo coo clock. He removed it off the wall anyway, wound the three chains around his hand like a rope and by doing so, pulled the chains so tight the movement locked up. Now won’t work. The coffee table was broken when they flipped it upside down and they attempted to screw it back together. They never mentioned that they broke it, sneaky people. Put in a claim. There were other things. Those were the most important to us. Well, today I got a letter telling me the coo coo clock was only worth $40.00 and the coffee table was worth $20.00. So, if we would sign off, they would send us a check of $200.00. How thoughtful.

This is disgusting. It makes me sick to think this is how they treat people. Oh you don’t have to do this and that. We will make sure you don’t have to work very hard. My husband has liver cancer and I had a heart attack last July. We paid more, but expected more if I ever moved, you can be sure I’d never ever call these people. And if you are wise, you wouldn’t either.

Best move I ever had!

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness.

They were very patient with me. I changed plans several times, but never were they annoyed. I appreciate that. The crew they sent were great workers, careful and pleasant, and just all around happy to have them in my home. They worked hard and had great attitudes. It made a stressful day much easier. I had way too much stuff, so it was expensive, but that was my fault. Seriously downsize before you move. Don't make the same mistake I did. Happy to refer them to anyone.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

This company is dishonest & will overcharge.

I used Good Greek to move in 2019, so I decided to use them again in 2020. When I confirmed the 2020 move, I was told that my move would cost approximately the same as my move the previous year if it were the same furniture. The original move was 15 miles (Boynton Beach to West Palm Beach) the 2nd move was approx. 3 blocks. It was the exact same furniture. I was charged nearly $1000 more for the 2nd move... same furniture, 3 blocks rather than 15 miles!

When I attempted to call, I was given the run around. I was told I would be called back multiple times & it never happened. I finally placed a negative review on Yelp! & a reply was posted to call customer service to "make things right". This in itself was a nightmare.

When I called customer service,Dalton told me that he would "look into it & get back w/ me". 2 weeks later, when I had not heard anything, I called again. At this time, I was given multiple excuses as to why the move cost was so much higher. It was agreed that in the original call to set the move, I was told that it would cost about the same for the same furniture. Then I was told that they sent fewer men & it took longer, so I was now responsible for the difference. When I stated that I was told that it would cost "about the same", I was reminded that fewer men were sent this time. I had not agreed to fewer men. When I stated that this was not right, Dalton became aggressive in tone & stated that there was nothing that could be done. Eventually, I was offered $100+ compensation even though the difference in the 2 moves was nearly $1000!!!

Again, I HIGHLY recommend DO NOT use this company!!! You will end up regretting it.

Long-distance move from West Palm Beach, FL to Wilmington, NC

Worst company I ever used

My parents moved from west palm beach to Wilmington NC.

My husband sister and my self waited for the truck to arrive—essentially all day. They were at least 4 plus hours late. Closer to six but who was counting!

They showed up with one man and his wife in an enterprise truck to move furniture and about 40 boxes

The mans wife could not lift anything so my husband had to help carry heavy furniture. Had he not the move would not have been able to be completed.

The movers did not protect floors or walls.

Did not wear their mask the entire time despite urging.

They rested boxes on people’s cars in the parking lot and got upset when we told them to move them. They did not speak English which made the communication and move that much more difficult! Thankful for google translate!! So many other complaints but you get the point!

This is by far the absolute worst company I have ever seen. As I see it my husband needs to be paid a portion as he was the second mover who should of accompanied the driver.

I have never written a review like this but I do not want others to experience what we did!

I give them one star just because they showed up. Save your time and money and use any other company

Don't believe the hype

Let me start off by saying I move a lot with my company (about 5x in the last 10 years) but this was my first move where I hired so called "professional movers". In the past I even rented a UHAUL and then hired movers through them. They were amazing and quick. I was called by Stephen the Manager at this location and he wanted to do a walk through. At first I was not that thrilled by it because we are still in a global pandemic but he assured me the purpose of the walk through was to get a detailed account so that the estimate can be as close as possible. He came spent time walking through my 2 bedroom apartment sent me an estimate. I asked for two different price quotes one if I had them pack me and one if I packed myself. Well the difference in cost was almost $1k and in that was packing supplies of about $680. So I packed all my stuff except the dresser and the big furniture items that they wrapped. He talked me into getting 3 guys which i shouldn't have done because it never seemed that all 3 guys were working to load at the same time. So that was a waste of money. The movers were extremely nice but they had no materials so I used my won wrapping paper to wrap the TV's and used my own box, they even had to use my screwdrivers. I was moving ALMOST everything into storage. So I took 2 trips with a mini van PACKED of stuff that I packed so all what Stephen saw they didn't take. I get to the storage unit where they are about to unload and the movers put Frank on who is the owner. When he quoted me the price I almost fell. The cost to move was $200 less than what Stephen had quoted me to pack and move. I asked why the price was so high and he was quite curt with me and said he didn't know that they said they started at 9AM and they said it will take them 2 hours to unload the truck (which it did not but I NEVER received a refund). I still questioned it saying that i was quoted with packing supplies and I used all of my own. I had my own boxes, blankets etc. he said if you have a problem you should call Stephen. The owner is referring me to the manager umm ok. So immediately I texted Stephen and he was unfortunately in the hospital with an injury but he said he would call me the next day. He didn't and in all fairness I understood but now its been over a week and I have heard nothing. I never received a final bill just a credit card transaction this move ended up costing me $100 less than the packing quote because I totally forgot that they took $100 down payment to secure the move. I have reached out to Stephen again but he left the company. I would NEVER tell anyone to use this company. Everyone was nice EXCEPT the owner which speaks volumes he didn't seem to care at all that I was concerned about the price difference.
