Deceitful, Unethical, Not Transparent

Do Not go thru GOOD GREEK MOVING & STORAGE - Worst company ever - No Ethics and Transparency - Not sure why they were highly recommended on a search engine - Total Rip Off. They quote you one thing and after you have signed the documents they write a totally different quote midway thru your move and hold your things hostage until you pay the tab. So instead of it being under $200 an hour for a less than 10 minute move, they bamboozle you with a $1300 quote which states it is for gas, labor and materials. In addition, no compassion or empathy whatsoever! The Most Dishonest Company I have ever dealt with, which is saying a lot. Find a more reputable, integrity-driven company!!! I should have used Stress Free Moving & Storage....Lesson Learned.

What a shame Mr, Good Greek

This is long. Be patient. We decided to do construction and needed storage so, as the commercials advertise, Good Greek was the place to call. Billy got us hooked up with getting our things picked up and put in storage . I paid immediately, which is a requirement. I did a great review. Then we needed some other moving done, so I called again, we got it done quickly, and I gave another great review. Also, paid immediately, which was a requirement. We've been paying since February for storage and needed to get our things delivered back to the house. I called and got us scheduled for Sunday, July 30, morning. Oh, I paid immediately, which was a requirement. We got up and were ready for the guys to arrive. At 1140 I called to ask about what time they'd be there. Oh, the guy said, they had to go back to yesterday's house to finish up but would be back to the warehouse to get our things as soon as possible. Ok, I said, that will be about 2 to 3 hours I guess? The guy says yes that's about right. I asked why no one called. He said, oh, sorry. So, 4 hours later, at 330 I called again. Oh, sorry, they can't come because of the truck. The truck, I ask? If there's something wrong with the truck, don't you have like a 140 other trucks they could use since that's an advertisement? No. I ask why am I calling YOU about this? Why didn't someone call me? I said I'd like to talk to a supervisor. She gets on and tells me they can't because of the truck. I am furious by now and all she wants to do is de-escalate and tell me I need to calm down. I want to know why I had to call twice? Why aren't they using another truck? What am I supposed to do with the people helping me that have been waiting for 8 hours? The people here to help me work all week and this is why we decided to do this on Sunday, which was thankfully the opening the employee gave ME. So, now I have to wait a few days and will get to do this by myself. I did my part. I paid up front and did good reviews. The commercials reel us in and then we get fooled just like John Doe moving company down the street. Today is Monday and I've heard nothing. I asked to talk to the manager. Nope. Mr. Good Greek should feel ashamed of this kind of service.

Long distance move

Great experience. Movers packed and loaded my whole house professionally and in record time. They were friendly and knowledgeable, but most of all caring. From the in home estimate visit to the last box put on the truck, the whole process was flawless. Thank you Good Greek. I will definitely recommend you as the Super Hero of movers.

The worst moving experience

After having bad experiences with other movers in the past we took a chance wpith The Good Greek for our most recent move. What a mistake! We booked over a month in advance and paid a $250 deposit. Tow days prior we talk the cost and expectations (we were expecting 4 hours for $740 (not including the $250 we already paid and told her as such.) I told Lauren it shouldn't take too long as we already moved a bunch of stuff out as we rented a van the weekend prior to our 11/28 move. The day before Lauren calls us and asks if we would be willing to switch our 8 to 10 am arrival window for an "early afternoon" one as another customer had time restrictions. She said she would take $50 off. I said that was fine because that put us in our new home by 6 pm. Moving day we call them at 11am to get an ETA. They said the movers were still at the earlier job and will call us. At 2:30 pm I call again. I speak to Lauren and she said there was an issue at the earlier job and it took longer. There has been zero communication from them regarding tthis. She said they should arrive around 4 or 5 pm. This was not acceptable because of the crazy traffic in the area at that time of day and they get paid $179 an hour. She said there were no other crews in the area so we were stuck. She said she would compensate if there is traffic and to not pay any bill until I talk to her first. At 4:30 pm the movers call and say they are 40 minutes away. They arrive at 5:25 pm. They did not come with the 3 loaner wardrobe boxes I was promised and the TV box I was promised was just some cut up carboard taped together. They are very slow and disappear for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. They tried to charge us for the cardboard wardrobe boxes and even wrapped our already covered couch without consulting us and charged us for that too. They explained how they were so tired as this was their 3rd job of the day and moved pretty slow. They said to leave our stuff in our dressers and they were tipping the nightstands and stuff upside down and on the sides so out stuff was falling out and a huge mess in the drawers. They finally get everything loaded which took way longer than it should have and my husband even helped. We pull up the GPS with the movers on their phone so we are on the same page for the fastest route. It said 37 minutes from the apartment to the house. I load up my toddler and leave. On the way at 7:30 I call Lauren and surprise she is gone for the day. I explain the situation and the lady who answered said she would pass the message along and someone would call me back soon. I get to the house and I am waiting for the truck. My husband who left 10 minutes or more after they left arrives and asked where they are. It took them about an hour to drive 37 minutes with zero traffic. I left to go get food. My husband calls and says they won't unload the truck until we pay. It is 8:30 pm at this point and I call again. I get a "manager" and he says the balance due is $980. I explained all the issues and how they showed up late. How the movers were tired because this was their 3rd job of the day. He said it wasn't it was the 2nd job (obviously someone is lying.) He took off the "materials fee" that we should never have been charged to begin with as compensation. We had no choice but to pay them as they had our furniture. He said he was charging me until 11 pm because that's how long it would take to unload. I get back home and my husband is on the phone paying and the movers start unloading. All the boxes were put in the garage and a few of the big furniture pieces were brought upstairs. They carried my daughter's dresser upstairs upside down and stuff was falling out of it. At one point my husband asked me to stand outside with them so I could tell them where stuff goes. One guy was loading stuff onto the truck lift while the others were just standing there watching him. They were done before 10:30 pm (even though they said they were changing us til 11.) I called the next day to speak to Lauren and left a message to call me. About 2 hours later and not a word. I call again but Lauren conveniently is "in a meeting." They give me a lady named Ruby and I explained everything that happened. She apologized and said she had to talk to her team and get back to me. When she did she only offered $230 in compensation. That was not even close to acceptable for this disaster of a move that cost us over $1200. I said well then perhaps I should contact the BBB and she said then she can't offer any compensation and if I want the $230 I have to sign a waiver to not report this to the BBB. I said absolutely not. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have since contacted the BBB and filed a complaint and the Attorney General. Monday morning I will be contacting the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and our credit card company. I gave them a chance to make it right and they couldn't care less. BEWARE AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Shady Business

Was quoted a certain price for labor and a “ one hour” travel charge to cover the return trip. Booked a month in advance, but contract was not delivered until the night before the move. Loads of extra charges, including a 20% surcharge, and a 4% credit card fee. Arranged to pay by Zelle to avoid the 4% fee, but there was no budging on the 20% shakedown.

The men who moved my stuff were great. Very professional and no wasted time.

I received an invoice as the men were unloading. It included a charge for

FIVE AND A HALF HOURS OF TRAVEL! The customer service rep was rude and hostile. He said he had a tape of my verbal quote, to which I said “fine, let’s hear it.”. He claimed to be downloading it, but what he did was ding my credit card, making me incur a 4% fee on top

of the extra trave. I never did hear the tape, probably because it backed up my claim. Even if I had agreed to cover round trip travel, they still tacked on an extra hour. The rep seemed too stupid to follow the math.

I will challenge via Amex. Will never use again.
