I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing this email to get compensation for Mental & Physical Harassment given by Get Movers to me, my wife and my 2 young daughters ages 7 and 4.

I request for at least $10,000 as compensation for the harassment & stress they have given to my family and especially my young kids on a new place. We have been experiencing sleepless nights & our work suffered a lot in last 1 month due to this company. Which is a direct monetary loss to my family.

I request to instruct this company to deliver my items as soon as possible.

I also request to penalize this company for whatever they have done with my family so that they don't dare to repeat such things in the future.

I booked their service to shift my personal items from Edmonton, AB to Brentwood Bay, BC as I was shifting here for my wife's job. This Company promised to deliver my stuff from 3 to 21 days from the date of pickup which is clearly mentioned in their email (Attached Full Conversation PDF - check page 2). Read this complete Email conversation to get an idea about their conduct.

There was no point in buying my stuff again when I am paying so much to this company to deliver the same stuff. Due to their delay, they forced me to buy many items when they didn't deliver items and didn't give me any reply to my emails to get any update about the transportation. We never knew that a company with 4.6* rating on Google can give us a nightmare & can be so irresponsible and emotionless.

I have faced so many issues with GetMovers since beginning, like -

Delayed Service - Today, 31 days are over and I haven't got my delivery even after their commitment to deliver stuff between 3 to 21 days from the date of pickup. I am living in a new place without my mattresses and other essential stuff for past 31 days. I never knew that 3-21 days means after 31 days.

Highly Unresponsive - I am emailing them and not getting any update on the delivery. They don't even know where is my stuff or they don't wanna share it. They don't even reply to email. (Check Full email conversation to get an idea about it). When I called them after 10 days the lady on call said that call after 21 days and she can't give any update before 21 days. They haven't shared the location of my stuff even after 31 days but they sent me the full bill to schedule my delivery. I didn't get any response after that about the location of my stuff as they didn't clear neither on email or on call.

Blackmailers - Even after the finalization of quote with them in writing & after advance payment, they said that I need to pay $100 extra for the Ferry. They told me that if I don't agree with the increased fee then they will refund the advance and I need to find a new service. Just a day before the pickup date, they blackmailed me to agree to pay extra money beyond our contract by threatening me to Cancel the service and even after taking advance payment. This is just one-sided contract that clients are bound to honour & this company can dishonour anytime. I don't know how companies get these types of guts to loot clients this way.

Overall, it is the worst experience till now and I don't know if they will deliver the stuff or not. I don't even know when they will deliver the stuff. With the experience till now, I don't have any confidence in the company at all.

ZERO STARS. DO NOT EVER USE GETMOVERS.CA. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR PEACE OF MIND, RUIN YOUR FURNITURE, LOOT MONEY AND PROVIDE POOREST SERVICE.

I USED THEIT MOVING SERVICE IN JULY 2023 FROM MISSISSAUGA TO KITCHENER IN ONTARIO AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS A NIGHTMARE.

1. The driver could not arrive at the location and cannot use a GPS properly. They passed by my residence and yet went 3 blocks away and called me saying they arrived. I was standing outside my building in the middle of the road to give them directions and they could not even speak or understand English instructions. They were unable to describe their intersection and unable to give clear direction in English. They wasted 40 minutes there.

2. We packed everything sturdily and labelled clearly what items are fragile, which side is up and what needs to be carefully handled. They did not even bother to see the instructions and handled every box very roughly holding anything upside down. Even the costly leather couch was very roughly handled.

We had to repeatedly mention for each and every item to handle properly or wrap it or blanket it, and they still damaged items. Our furniture was stepped on and broken. The broken table with boot print marks on top was heartbreaking to see. Why on earth did they use our furniture as a step stool. What professional does that???

3. After unloading, they did not unwrap the items. Also, they just dropped the boxes marked as fragile on floor from a height instead of placing them gently. We are yet to open all boxes and see what other damages has been caused inside.

I'm glad i did not use your packing service too. Otherwise the move would end in a disaster.

4. They did not unwrap anything and just left in a hurry, because they wanted to run before we see or notice the damage. They stepped on some of the furniture and even broke a tv table and tore a mattress. Photos attached.

5. After the payment was done, they just delayed purposely for more than 30 mins just to complete the time. They only had one last trolley with boxes and they took very long. So they charged me for more time.

6. They did not care to wrap properly and also did not use blankets for most of the items.

This is very disappointing experience even after paying so much of our hard earned money. On phone calls while booking and also at confirming one day before, you mentioned twice that you will take care of the items and wrap them with care. But in reality it did not happen. Everything was carelessly and roughly handled.

After making multiple calls all this they asked to raise a claim and after I submitted the claim with photographs all damages worth more than $3000, they rejected it saying you already signed a form. I signed that form for payment before 45 mins of completion of unloading as per their terms before booking. Now they are showing this form and saying claim is rejected.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1100

Booked them for a condo move in Toronto. Despite clearly communicating the maximum height of the loading dock and how much I had to move (very few big items), they brought a truck which was far too big for the job (picture attached for reference). They couldn't park in the loading dock so parked in the street and received a $500 parking ticket. They then refused to unload my stuff until I paid the parking ticket fine on addition to the fee for the move. Best case it was negligent and unprofessional, worst case borderline criminal.

Do yourself a favor and use a proper, reputable moving company which isn't going to hold your belongings hostage over a fine which they were at fault for.

The driver also failed to navigate properly to my property which added another 30mins on to the move, although this pales in comparison to what happened before but showcases again the lack of professionalism.

Moving condo/house is already a stressful time and these guys certainly aren't going to make it any easier or cheaper. Avoid at all costs.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $550

Our family possesses a chain of cafes in all Ontario cities, so we often require a long distance moving for new appliances, decoration, and products. What I like about GetMovers, is that they have a large operating network, so all processes run softy. Sometimes we need overnight storage while waiting for the loaders or ask them for furniture installation.

You can rely on such trained movers and managers, we really appreciate this aspect in business matters.

Move size: Commercial Move Service cost: $2160

Last week we had a quick move with GetMovers. It took just 3 hrs! Over the phone there was an easygoing lady, who organized and scheduled the move. The moving crew were at a location on time and ready to work. They got all the items packed and loaded into a truck with no problems. We went to the new house and unloaded everything. I was so surprised there were no scratches or breaks under the plastic wrap and moving blankets. Incredibly careful and efficient movers. No doubt, the best movers! For sure will hire them for my next move and highly recommend to anyone in Toronto!

Last month we had a big and pretty complicated . Honestly, I was stressed about condition of the possessions, but the move couldn’t have gone more successful! Jimmy, Adam, Denis and a driver William were on time, generous and polite; asked if we needed anything else. They double-checked everything to make sure all the possessions are carefully packed and loaded. Obviously, there were none of a scratch! Thank you for the successful experience! And you know, I would never let anyone else move us.

They were really nice and courteous gentlemen. I moved from a 3rd floor to a 1st floor, and they worked quickly and efficiently. They amazed me with their shrink wrapping skills and minimal breaks. They complimented my packing skills :) and assisted with the little things still needed to be done. They were a great group of guys and I'd use them as my movers anytime and all the time. The rates were fair for the level of service provided. You guys made my move so easy, peaceful and pleasant experience. I highly recommend this company.

DO NOT HIRE GET MOVERS!!

My husband and I recently hired Get Movers for a move to a city 3 hours away. The move date was originally scheduled for September 30, however, Michael from Get Movers phoned a few weeks before the move to ask if we could reschedule for the 29th. In order to accommodate them, my husband and I each had to take an extra day off work, the tenant that was living in our new place prior to our arrival kindly vacated the place early so we could move in a day ahead of schedule, and we had to pay for an extra night in the new suite. But no problem, we were happy to do what we needed to do to guarantee that our big move went smoothly.

September 29 rolls around and we are fully prepared and ready to go. The majority of our furniture and boxes are easily accessible in the garage, everything is packed and wrapped, and we are anxiously awaiting our 10am start time. By 10:20, the truck had not arrived and we hadn’t heard a peep from Get Movers. The contract did have a 1 hour buffer policy, so we remained patient and calm, and reached out to Michael just asking for an ETA on the truck. He said he would contact the truck and get back to me, but I didn’t hear from him again until I phoned him at 11am, when the 1 hour buffer has passed. Michael casually informed me that he couldn’t get in touch with anyone in the truck and asked if we could reschedule if they didn’t turn up in the next few minutes. He was completely nonchalant about this, as if we had mixed up our plans to grab a coffee together. I reminded Michael that he had already rescheduled on us, and informed him of all the inconveniences we endured to accommodate their schedule, and he didn’t even remember doing this, despite sending me an updated contract with the new moving date and time. My husband and I became more stern with him, and for the next two hours he continued to say he would call us back and never do so. Every time we phoned him the status was the same – he couldn’t reach the truck. How is this possible? Get Movers’ website boasts GPS tracking in all of their trucks, and there should have been 3 movers in the vehicle who each have their own phones. Michael was completely unfazed and unapologetic every time we called him.

By 1pm we had lost all hope that the truck would show up. We called a few other moving companies before accepting that we were going to have to get a U-Haul and do this move ourselves. We spent the next few hours under intense mental and physical stress and didn’t hear a word from Michael after the last time he had promised to call us back. Unfortunately, the size of truck we needed wasn’t available at U-Haul so we had to make the long drive back the next day and rent another truck for our remaining belongings and pick up our other vehicle. Our move was also supposed to include my beloved upright piano, which is why we were going to pay Get Movers for 3 movers instead of the standard 2. My husband and I were unable to move it ourselves so we had to leave it behind. I am devastated about this.

We phoned Get Movers again on our second day of moving and spoke with Danny. We explained the situation and all of the events that had transpired since their company failed us the previous day, and he was no more empathetic or apologetic than Michael was. We asked what they were going to do to make this right, and were told that we cancelled the move so there was nothing they could do. WHAT? We didn’t cancel… YOU DIDN’T SHOW UP! We expressed this and Danny said, ‘let me call my supervisor and phone you back’. Guess who didn’t call us back? Our deposit was returned by etransfer, but no one from the company has reached out to us to apologize or rectify the situation in any way. This whole ordeal caused us a great amount of physical and mental stress, the loss of my cherished instrument, and significantly more time and money than if we had just planned to move via U-Haul in the first place.

So do yourself a favour and hire any other company. Get Movers is completely unreliable and has horrendous customer service. We don’t want this to happen to anybody else.
