Shady company.

Don't use this company. I used them for a move from Dallas to Salt Lake City. I was originally quoted competitively, of course.. A week later, I'm given another call by the company. I add some things, but I remove some things from my list as well, and somehow, they come up with a quote $200 greater than the original, 3 days away from my move date. I get very upset, and the guy on the phone lowers it back down to the original quote, plus $100 of packaging and stair fees. The day of the move, the quote is $78 higher than I was promised over the phone, but of course, it's too late for me to do anything about it on THE DAY of the move, geand Shanon, the office admin, is no help.

Geo Van Lines contracts Supreme Van Lines to deliver my stuff for the second half of the move. I encounter Doron Viknan, the owner of the company. He was the driver, and was VERY unpleasant and extremely shady. He tacks on a $75 "long carry fee" once he arrives. Before he arrives, he tells me he's adding a $75 stair fee. I inform him it's already included in my quote, and he rudely assures me he will check this with his office.. Unnecessary. Apparently he confirmed it was added, in which case, he tacks on the BS "long carry" fee. I'm moving into an apartment unit.. I don't know of many apartment move situations that aren't somewhat "long carry." A couple of my boxes were stacked upside-down, including a box of fragile kitchenware, which was clearly marked, my steel trashcan was dented, and my bookcase was damaged. Choose ANYONE besides Geo Van Lines and especially stay away from Supreme Van Lines. Worst move experience EVER, and I've used a number of moving companies.

Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Huntsville, AL

Lost all my belongings in a FIRE.

Ired GeoVanLines back in November 2019 to move my belongings from Dallas, TX to Alabama. The sales person who booked me (Shannon) informed me that they did not outsource to other companies and made it seem like an easy and reasonably priced process.

I paid the initial deposit as well as the amount paid for the movers to come pick up my items which totaled to be over $1,000. I was scheduled to pay the rest when they arrived with my items. A few days later after I received notification that my belongings were on the way I stopped hearing from anyone. After making calls and getting a run around I ended up getting through to the driver’s manager who works for a moving company called Precise. I was not informed that GeoVanLines outsourced and hired another moving company to handle my belongings. Unfortunately the moving truck holding my belongings have caught FIRE and everything is a loss. It has been nothing but a run around with GeoVanLines about getting my $1,500 deposit back. Because they paid Precise (without my knowledge) they stated that they do not owe me. They keep telling me to contact Precise and I have never hired this company to handle my belongings so they are not returning my calls. GeoVanLines did not even show any sincerity or apologize for the loss of my belongings. I am still in the process of the insurance claim and this has been going on for 7 months now. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT hire GeoVanLines for your moving services. The fire may have not been their fault but their refusal to refund my deposit for a service that has not been fulfilled or did not even bother contacting me when my belongings caught on fire is enough to explain why you should not do any business with them.

Do Not Use Geo Van Lines - Avoid.

I wish I had read reviews before hiring but was in a hurry due to job loss. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! A Complete Absolute Nightmare. They quoted $1500 for a ONE ROOM STUIDIO!! We sold 1 LG TV and the LARGE BUREAU prior to move that was in $1500 quote and yet when arrived charged over $200 more for 2 stools and a couple boxes way smaller than Bureau. We had u-haul and movers lined up on both ends for $600 total. Thought I was helping her with Moving CO. NOT WITH GEO VAN LINES. Called for del time NO response. Texted NO response. They finally get here today TEN days later claiming they can't come up my driveway. Listen I have lived here 32 yrs. Have a 50' RV, several trailers that we come up with all the time and NOT an issue. EVER!! How do they think I furnished a 4BR home? Carrying it up driveway??. COMPLETE JOKE. They just wanted to CHARGE MORE again for long haul to carry up. My daughter got her F250 Super Duty and brought ALL the stuff up and the 2 workers who couldn't back up a truck if their life depended on it. I have had MANY moving trucks here and never took them 5 minutes to back up and WAY larger than this RENT A TRUCK they came in. After my daughter drives down and brings everything up from the truck they tell us CHARGING for the stairs inside my front DOOR. I was told by SHANNON there was NO CHARGE for my interior stairs. That was for APT exterior stairs. THEY LIE.. They said NO I had to pay another $200 for stairs and her driving everything up the driveway herself. They left half the stuff downstairs that we now have to get another mover to bring up. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS AT ANY COST. They add on anything they want once they have your furniture!!. Charged us long haul up driveway when MY DAUGHTER brought it all up with her truck and for stairs SHANNON told me were included. COST $2000 to move a ONE ROOM STUDIO that we received 10 days later with 2 guys that couldn't back up a truck to save their lives.

Do not use!!

So I moved 2 Saturday’s ago using Geo Van Lines (Addison/Plano). (DON’T EVER USE!!) I was supposed to move at 8 am, they called 3 different times with eta’s of 9, 11:30 and 12:00. They didn’t come until 12:45 and started at 1 and got finished at 4:30. Long post ahead

I hate moving and movers trying to get over on you. The black guy Mike kept talking about, “I’m a professional,” he was on 4 different personal calls yelling at someone for 15 min straight while the Hispanic is working. He was good until the end. I literally am moving 0.7 miles away from my old apartment (make 2 lefts and 1 right) or (it’s a straight shot out of my back gate with a stop sign between the apartments). Before we depart the old apartment they sit in the truck for 10 min, I called and asked the hold up said they needed to use the bathroom and get water (I had already offered water and he asked for gator aid.) I let him know we would pass my apartment to get to the gas station. We pull up to the station they take maybe 5 or so min inside, he comes out gives a thumbs up and used his finger to signal a u-turn. He looked at my plates make and model of my car and gave another thumbs up and waved Let’s go. (We sit for another 5min.)

After leaving the gas station did the u-turn, I get into the left hand lane to turn to make another u-turn (back on the right side of my new apt) he jumps over into the far right lane and busts a quick right. They took an additional lunch/detour. ? Now y’all know me and how I drive. I cut across 4 lanes to follow them. So I called the company and as soon as I get a supervisor the driver calls me (I decline the call to keep speaking with the sup.)

They told the supervisor they got lost (after the fact that they were sitting at some warehouses the opposite of way from my apartment down some side street for 10min.) The supervisor called them to see where they were and told him they got lost (remember they were following me to and from the gas station next to my apts, so how you get lost??) ( at this point they realized that I followed them). They thought they lost me but I was following them the whole time. Took pictures and all, as soon as we get to the new place the man said, “oh I got lost and followed the wrong car, I would never do that to a queen and whatever else.)

He tells me he will take off 30 min and I said you need to take off 45 for the extra break you took.

At this point I feel heat coming from my ears, the black guy is complaining about getting paid and what not. I said somebody is on the way with the payment, I wasn’t about to leave my stuff with them. So then he is mumbling I kept asking what did you say? He said oh I’m just talking to my boss( no headphones in or anything). My mom and brother pull up and watched this man drop my brand new crockpot from the top of the truck, when the truck plate got down to the ground he shook it to see if it was broken and he put it back on top like nothing happened. Time goes by he is down stairs with the other mover sayin oh she mad but oh well, “I said you say what? Yes I’m mad because you are full of shit.” He said oh I’m talking about my boss.

At the end of the move, I ask the Hispanic man about putting my bed frames back together and he told me no it’s already 4:30 and he has already worked 30 min for free and he would if I pay him another 30 min. The black guy Mike had broken my dresser and multiple other things saying, “oh it wasn’t his fault.” He complained and said your couch is too big they should have had 3 men. I’m not going to tell them it was a bulky item bc it would be more. I said well call and let them know, because I already told them I had a 3 seat couch with 2 recliners on the side and I’m not paying extra ??‍♀️ .

Still talking under his breath he said he would shrink wrap the dresser, but didn’t and just brought it up the stairs. I ask where the wrap is and he told me he didn’t have time. Mind you they were supposed to wrap all of my items. They get the dresser half way in the house put it on the ground (drawers falling out at this point) the Hispanic man starts throwing my clothes out of the bottom drawer. I just told them leave it there and leave.

It wasn’t until after they left that I saw the reviews, even though I checked the reviews before booking it was so many pages of 5 star (paid railings that I didn’t see the 1 stars with actual customers complaining of the same thing, them being unprofessional, charging extra, “getting lost” after they said they would meet you at the apt, broken, stollen/missing items, taking their time/milking the clock, complaining about money, holding items/stopping until they get paid.

Long-distance move from Texas to Montana

ZERO rating.

Let me first start by stating that I worked at a moving company before and I know their policies for unloading..they don't unload until you pay and sign the papers. So you don't have an opportunity to review or unpack to find the damages until they're gone. Then they refuse any kind of claim because you signed the papers.

Like SOOO many other reviews here, I don't know where to begin. Loading crew was excellent; however, they brought a truck that was too small. They took our belongings to their warehouse to put onto another truck. A MONTH later, our items showed up..many badly damaged and/or missing altogether..literally thrown into the back of a semi and unloaded by two boys that had never moved anything. Damage was substantial and we had to stay at a VRBO for a month because we didn't receive our items. So we're out our stay plus damages to our belongs and missing items.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Long-distance move from Tomball, TX to Warren, OH

Horrible.

Honestly, If I could give negative stars I would. The sales person was the only + to this company as she was very communicative, which is what you want to see. They moved me from Houston area to Ohio, and amidst Covid outbreak. I wasn't worried about the timeliness because of the market conditions, however the movers damaged over $6000 of my stuff, or it is missing. I am having to get an attorney involved as the person who picked up my stuff up admitted to dropping it, however the "insurance" has denied the claim 3 times. Then the delivery group threw my stuff into the storage unit like it was trash going into a dumpster. Brand new industrial equipment, collectibles in boxes, frames, and sentimental items were destroyed. Do NOT use them, as they do not care for your items at all. You're better off getting a Uhaul and some friends. I tried to save the pictures to the review but it kept giving an error.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Bangor, ME

Awful experience. Don't recommend. Wish I could leave 0 stars.

We hired geo van lines to do a move from Austin, TX to Bangor, ME. The initial pickup was excellent. Wonderful and professional crew. They brought a uhaul to load everything and let us know it would be switched to a semi before doing the delivery. Okay, fine.

After the pickup is when things went south. Delivery took about 12 days (which was fine, we knew it could take up to 3 weeks). When they finally came to deliver they refused to bring the semi to my neighborhood. They said it wouldn't fit, which was a lie. I live by a lake with a boat ramp across from me, there was a turn around and my driveway itself is long enough to fit a semi. They made my husband rent a uhaul and meet them at a parking lot where they unloaded our stuff from the semi to the uhaul.

They refused to finish the contract which stated that they had to move our stuff into the home and reassemble the furniture. I paid for this service!! That didn't happen and we had to unload the uhaul WE HAD TO PAY FOR and finish the move ourself. They still charged me full price for the move or wouldn't release our stuff to us.

Next awful thing was our stuff. They lost a 300 lb, 6 ft tall safe, several boxes/tubs and an antique dresser. One of the boxes had over 2 grand worth of electronics.

Almost all of my boxes were damaged and several things were broken including my $3k sectional sofa.

We contacted the owner of the company and he was able to locate my safe, tubs and dresser; however, all the missing boxes are still MIA. Who knows when they'll actually get my stuff to me that they did find. We are currently in the process of filing a claim. I will update when that nightmare finalizes.

Beware! This company has shady practices and is dishonest. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Local move from Dallas, TX to Houston, TX

It is 2020 ZERO stars should be an option.

Let me tell you about my experience with Geo Van Line. I contacted them in June about my move in August. We came to the agreement that the movers would come and move my one bedroom apart on Friday August 21st and my items would be delivered the same day. I moved from Dallas Texas to Houston Texas which is roughly a 4 hour drive. Prior to the move I asked Rick if he would like a detailed inventory because I know I have a lot of stuff. He stated that would not be necessary. Thursday August 20th I was contacted twice and asked if I would like my items delivered on Saturday August 22nd instead. Of course I told both employees no because we already agreed in June for a same day delivery. Okay let’s move on to the actual move date. The window was between 8a-11a. The movers did not get there until 12p. Okay they start moving the items but they are moving extremely slow so I already figured the 3 hours that we agreed upon in June would not be enough time. I ask them is there anyway they could speed up and they did not. Next thing I know I am getting a call from Jake stating the movers have called him and told him we keep giving them more items and that the truck is half full. This was not true. In June I asked Rick if he wanted a detailed list he stated no. However, the company knew I was moving my entire apartment so yes everything needed to go on the truck. The truck was only 25% full. Jake stated the company sent an extra person for free so I should be happy. Why should I be happy that you all are doing a service you offer? Okay everything is on the truck and then they ask for payment and say they only payments they accept are Cash or a money transfer app such as Zelle. The email I received stated they accepted all major Credit Cards but had to be ran 24 hrs before. The 3 times the called on the 20th, there was no mention on how they would be accepting the payment. I intended on mentioning my CC payment but I had forgotten because of the whole delivery issue. Of course that was a problem. Shannon, the dispatch, yelled at me stating the payment had to be made the prior day before. I asked her to calm down and she does. She apologized stating she is diabetic and hasn’t eaten. That is not my problem. They then decided to allow me to pay with my credit card. She then asks me to send a picture of my CC and my ID. I did not feel comfortable doing this because anyone could get my information. However, I did it anyway. So the items are on the truck and the invoice has been paid. The movers say they need to pick up paper work and they would start the drive to Houston. This is around 3pm. Once I am 30 mins from my new home I get a call from the driver stating the truck stopped on the side of the road and they have no signal. How funny is that because they supposedly left Dallas prior to me and I did not see them anywhere where on the highway. I asked what exit did they stop at and other questions to see if they could get their lie together of course the could not. Dispatch calls and states the mechanic will be able to fix the truck today and your items will still be delivered today. Then we get all the way to midnight and we receive a call from the movers stating the mechanic has just finished and they have a 2 hour drive left (They said they had no signal earlier and could not tell where they were stopped but now your signal is clear and you know your ETA now sureeee). I tell them to just come in the morning we agree that they will come between 7am - 8am. They do not arrive until 9am. Once they come upstairs the mover states he can not take any of my items off the truck until I pay. If you remember I already paid yesterday so of course you are not about to get paid AGAIN. I call dispatch and Jake answers. He starts yelling and cursing at me. He spewed “I’ll just have them to take your shit back to Dallas and drop it off” and then hung the phone up. I then speak to Shannon again and she tells them to start unpacking the items because they already knew what the plan was. Okay they bring everything and of course my 55 inch TV is destroyed like the screen is DONE! I also had a large mirror that was damaged also. Once I noticed the two damaged items I took pictures of them and called to let them know what they have done. Shannon answers and like Friday she is not too pleasant. She stated she would send a claim form over and I will have to submit it. As you can see this company did what they wanted to do. I am almost 100% sure the truck did not break down and either they had other jobs to do in Dallas or the movers had worked their allotted hours for that day .I would have preferred them being honest instead of lying about this.I highly recommend you do NOT use this company. They are rude and very unprofessional. I guess they never heard of customer service. I guess they never heard of treat people the way you would like to be treated. #BLM.

Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Buffalo, NY

We Cannot Warn You Enough To Not Do Business with this Company.

We physically moved from Dallas, TX to Buffalo, NY, 7/25/2020 and we paid Geo Van Lines to move our belongings-we can't get them to deliver or refund. On Friday, July 25, 2020, Geo Van Lines LLC Location: 5080 Spectrum Dr # 1000E, Addison TX 75001 Mailing Address: 3905 Hedgecoxe Rd. #250987 Plano TX 75025 (877) 877-4347 http://www.GeoVanLines.com TX DMV: TX007075543C / MC: 999676 / US DOT: 2952490 picked up our household goods from Dallas, TX to relocate/move to Buffalo, NY. As of today, September 10, 2020, and our items have not been delivered and Geo Van Lines tells us repeatedly that the shipment is “about to depart Dallas". This move was done on Geo Van Lines # Job No: GE556266, executed by Geo Van Line Employee Representative: Shanon Harrison (or Shanon Harris, she changes her name depending on who she is speaking with). We have now learned that the shipment remains in a warehouse at Advantage Storage - McDermott Square, 2845 McDermott Rd, Plano, TX 75025. Jack Gold, General Manager, informed us again today that the shipment would be leaving Dallas today. There have been so many untruths by every employee of this company that we believe nothing from them now. We have no way of getting our items released from this company or getting a refund to hire another carrier. We have lived in Buffalo, NY for almost 2 months now.

Moving forward we would like to make sure that no other family or individual has to go through what Geo Van Lines has done to us. So, we will hope that through you can help us warn others. I only wish I had looked at your website before this entire saga began. We will report this entire incident to the US Department of Transportation as well.

Long-distance move from Irving, TX to Lacey, WA

Fraud, do not hire this company

I hired this company to move from TX to WA. Do not trust this company for movers service. They lost my sofa, dresser, carpet and other belongings and then made me wait for 2 months only to deny my claim. I made full payment and now I do not have my belongings. The staff in sales are nice if you are new customer but if you call about your claim, they'll ignore you and behave so rude. I made a huge mistake and I don't want other people to go through my experience. The 1 star rating was mandatory otherwise this company doesn't deserve that either. Very unpleasant and unprofessional experience. I am so disappointed on my decision.
