I got lucky…

Found a really good, really reasonable moving company who didn’t try and pull the wool over my eyes, and who had three of the best people working for them who moved my belongings. That’s three for three, and that doesn’t happen to often here in NYC. Job well done! Dominick Romeo

Terrible Experience

Never write reviews but FlatRate compelled me to. Move out was okay, movers showed up over 3 hours late with Dispatch being evasive or not answering the phone while I was waiting. Sales team was responsive and helpful, working with me to get a good storage deal. Move in was an absolute mess and why you should consider very carefully if you want to use this company. I showed up to my new apartment and the first thing the movers told me was that they don't have the right mattress. The foreman knew his stuff and could tell immediately storage had lost my mattress. They had the audacity to show up with a beat up Queen when I had a full. The rest of the day was spent figuring out where my mattress was with dispatch trying to find similar mattresses. It became clear they never packed my mattress into the same storage unit and had also lost my bed slats. I understand mistakes happen and having worked in moving when I was younger, I knew the difficulties of the job. However, the customer service teams callousness and disregard for my experience was honestly incredible considering the inevitable lost product cases. After confirming they had lost the mattress, I requested reimbursement for the 9+ months of storage for the mattress and move in costs for it. All they could manage is a "request denied". I didn't even bother mentioning the damage to multiple other objects including my drawers, they were so unhelpful it would have been a waste of time.

Long story short, if you're moving in the city I recommend other companies. It's not worth the headache and inevitable financial damage.

Excellent Moving Experience with Flatrate

Excellent Company to use as Movers

The entire process was flawless from the initial zoom consult to review the contents to be moved to getting the insurance certificate to the day we moved - The movers they sent were professional, on time , efficient and very helpful

Perfect movers

Moving in NYC

I have used this company twice now and they have always done a great job! Professional, fair pricing, and responsive I couldn’t be happier. I have large, heavy furniture and they have always been able to get it in and out of walk up apartments without damaged. Customer service is great too. One of my items was left on the truck and the contacted me night of and returned the next day. This will always be my go-to company.

Smooth Move from Start to Finish

I had a small move from NYC to CT and everything from the quote to the move went well. I had a partial pack, meaning I packed most of the things and let them pack the kitchen. It was a little pricey since I didn't move much furniture (just a bed, a dining table, and a desk), but I had another quote done and they were very competitive.

I recommend FlatRate.

A Positive Experience in Every Way

This was not my first move with FlatRate. The previous one went so well that they were the only company I called to schedule a move of some furniture and other household things to storage, for delivery in about two months to my new home. From my first phone call to the move itself, I only dealt with people who were service-oriented and handled themselves in a professional way. The coordinator I worked with to set things up was great. He never failed to respond quickly to an email or a phone call from me. The crew that came to pack and move my things worked with incredible speed and efficiency; they were amazing to watch. I am sure others have said this, but FlatRate eliminates all the stress from what could be a very stressful situation. They have my highest recommendation.

Must Ask for Juan & Derek

Juan and Derek made this process so easy and stress free. They're quite courteous and thoughtful. They made sure all of my stuff was packed up nicely and took certain safety precautions to keep my stuff secure and safe while moving in NYC. Also they got everything done so fast I was amazed! Next time I have to move, I definitely want to move with them.

Recent move

Move logistics were fine from NYC to Florida, not great communication but picked up and delivered on time. But, there were several items damaged in the move. Was told to create a claim, did so, they said they would get back to us in 7-10 days. It is now over 6 weeks, no resolution and they will not return my e-mails. I cannot and would not recommend this company.

Stress-free move

The team that moved our stuff into storage was so great we requested them for the storage-to-apartment move as well. They were respectful and careful with not only us and our things, but with the building and apartment as well. Moving is never fun and often stressful but these guys made this the most pleasant move I’ve ever had. I packed my own boxes but they did their thing and really made sure everything was tight. They were thorough so I really didnt have to worry about my stuff in any way. Unpacking was easy, too, thanks to them.
