Unprofessional - Scam - Don't do business with!

DON'T do business with this company. They quoted us a price in writing and then when the guys showed up they charged us an additional $80 to "Carefully" package the items or just have them thrown on the back of the truck at our own risk. We purchased the insurance and when the items to to SC they had broken the dinning table leg. I filed a claim and was told they won't do a thing about it. Prove the did it. I have pictures for when the items left and when they go there. I filed a BBB claim and attorney General claim. This company has not replied to my repeated request for the $200 it will cost to fix the table. If you want the price to change and your items broken then use them. They SUCK! And are rude.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Florida

Terrible experience!

We were not happy with the service through ez movers. We moved a 1 bedroom apartment with a bed, 1 dresser, and a few pieces of small furniture and about 35 medium sized boxes. When the driver arrived he augmented the quote by over 50% of the original price. I had called the office to have the quote explained to me with no response for close to a week after they loaded our belongings. The driver was pushy, in a hurry and not careful with our belongings. He was in such a hurry to have me sign the paperwork and didn't explain it after increasing the price- he pressured me to sign, and foolishly, I did so. When I mentioned I needed to call the office to verify the amount and costs, he became defensive and upset, not helpful. I asked to see the space used in the truck after they had packed it (to be certain I wasn't being ripped off) and they had conveniently closed it and locked it.

The entire job took 2 hours at most of actually moving the belongings. Furthermore, apparently there "long walk" fee if the load or unload is more than a 75 ft walk. I was not forewarned about this. He mentioned that he would waive the fee if I helped carry some of the items out. Myself and the helper mover carried everything- yes, I actually moved my own stuff to avoid being charged $200 extra. I have called the customer service line, and they never called me back, and after 3 calls replied with an email. The company seems to use the tactic of a low price on paper (do not get swindled by the $899 quote!) but increases it upon arrival- have others had this experience too? As I write this review, we still do not have our belongings. It has been 10 days since it was picked up.

Spare yourself a nightmare moving experience. They did not hold up I their mission statement whatsoever, or seem concerned about making our moving experience a positive one. If I could review with less than one star, I would. I do not recommend this company. In the future I will not use this company.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Illinois

Move from MN to IL.

The pick-up guy surprised us with some hidden charges, but was lowered it a bit later. For delivery - two guys arrived after a little struggle to get my goods delivered on time. One of them, an African American guy, introduced himself as 'Bounce' , wanted to use my restroom and I couldn't say no. It was only later that we realized he was doing WEED in my bathroom!! It took me a few days to get rid of that stink in the bathroom.. So BEWARE..!!

EZ Movers will Leave You Scarred - Don't Use Them!

This company is horrible! Do not use EZ Movers for a long-distance move.  They will have you take inventory of what you have to move and then when they show up to your house they will state that you have more furniture and boxes than you reported and hijack you on the moving day.  I had to cough up over $1,200 on the moving day or they refused to transport my items.  I was moving out of state.  Also they give you a two-week window of time to deliver your items to your new location - they took two weeks and a day.  Then the driver stated that the truck could not fit through the entry way (which was not true – the delivery driver went through the wrong entrance after being directed to the correct entrance) to where I lived and made me rent a Uhaul at my expense  for them to transfer my items to, in order from them to  deliver them or they would charge me a per feet fee to carry the items long distance.  Also some of items were damaged, they dirtied my carpet and the walls & dented my walls. Never use this company.  This company has no ethics & they are scam artists!  I have learned my lesson – next time I will use a local company, that assesses your items in person and that drives straight through to your location and I will never use EZ Movers again.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Horrible Movers.

We moved from Minnesota to Flordia! The price they quoted us was cheaper than what we had already looked into. They showed up on time loaded our stuff, the we come to find out they offer 2 months of pd storage. We finally get into our place after a month and a half called them to get our stuff delivererd, then they proceed to tell us we have to pay another 100 for storage. even though our 2 free months were'nt up. they showed up on delivery and then need 300 in cash or they wouldn't give us our stuff. We had about 76 boxes that included hard plastic totes. Majority of the boxes were smashed and the hard plastic totes were also damaged. All of our glass itemes were broken. even stuff that should of made the trip were ruined. Including my Grandmas china that was well packaged as its not replaceable was destroyed. PLEASE do not go with this company they screw you over with the price and they ruin your items.

From the moving date.

Thjs is the WORST company there is when it comes to customer service, honesty, and respect for customers. I spent OVER 2k to move from Indiana to Georgia and was lied to from the beginning to the end. Upon arrival my stuff was packed any kind of way, things were broken and the screws to my daughter's brand new bunk bed set were missing so the drop off guys couldn't put her bed together.. DO NOT USE THIS LYING [EDIT] company. You've been warned.!

Bad businesses.

Salesman started with $1500, then $1800. I more boxes then furniture!! Kevin, put my 87 yr old mom down for 15 boxes, a normal move has way more then that!! At pick up on July 28, 2015 it went up another $1000. To late to do anything about it, we let them take it to their storage to be delivered when we called with the request. Our request went in on August 9, 2015 and my 87 year old mother has not been even given a date for delivery. While sleeping on a blow up mattress, with nothing!! THEY DON'T CARE!! RUDE!!

Long-distance move from Arizona to Illinois

Be ready for extra charges all thru the process.

  1) They offered me initial discount of 21%. Later when I decreased the number of items - they removed the discount and offered me only 18% discount Moreover there prices didn't went down as expected. When I asked them to revise the price as there has been significant decrease in the items. They refused to do so as they already decided that no matter what happens(whether items are decreased or so) - they will charge me around $2600. 2) At the time of taking my stuff from Arlington Heights IL - they had more than 75 foot of distance and 3 floor. But they didn't made any complaint or fuss about it. Crew which came for pickup was good. While at the time of delivery - they had a very greedy driver who just want to make money one or the other way. I had a near end place to my apartment - but he refused to park the truck at the near end. He wanted to use the far end and make more money by claiming that it's a long carry. When I called the office - they initially asked the driver to at least try the near end - but driver was adamant. Driver was telling that he want to charge $328.50($75 per 100 cubic foot) for additional long carry apart from the binding estimate of 2157.39. My stuff was held in ranson and Maryam on the phone told me that they will put it into the storage and won't tell me the location unless I pay them the reminder amount($539.43). Other option they gave me that they will only put the stuff at 75 foot from the far end and then I need to move the stuff on my own. I was left with no options. They wasted close to 2 hours in arguing about it. This is the tactics as they can make you pay what they want. I told them that other carriers with the truck as big as this - are able to come to the near end but he refused. Later this greedy driver offered me a deal - pay him $200 in cash and he won't charge me $328.50 for the long carry. I had no options - I paid him $200 in cash with one of my friend as witness. He told me that this is considered as tip and he won't be giving me the receipt and don't tell their company. Later he parked his truck at the fire parking to make it near-now he had no issues as he got $200 to this work. He and his helper moved all the stuff but refused to do 100% assembly and left all the trash inside the apartment. I have reported this incident to the company but there seems to be no standard arbitration or customer complaint forum at there. 3) I had given my destination address before pickup - I was not knowing that they will bring a big truck and this greedy driver will make all the fuss to charge me extra(beyond the binding estimate). He should be okay to put his truck at the near end but he wanted to make more money. Moreover why didn't they charged me for more than 75 feets at the source(Arlington Heights IL)-why he is charging now at Scottsdale AZ.   They get 25% of the advance for booking the order. Another 50% at the time of pickup and remaining 25% at the time of delivery. They won't deliver unless you hand over the Money order or cash. The name of this driver was Juan C Romero who asked for $200 as tip to write off the $328.50 long carry charge. The moment he got the tip - he even parked at the fire lane to deliver the stuff. STAY AWAY from them - they may be okay for local move but definitely not for inter state move. .

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Illinois

A nightmare.

It was a real nightmare. First they toldus they would come on monday and they were delaying aby one day all the time. They came on friday night at 8 pm. They were supposed to dothe packing because we paid extra money, but they did not do that. They have lost a new crib mattress and one of the lamp was damaged. The worst part is they ask 1500 more than what was expected and the movers took 100 dollars in black and they did not take half of the stuff. So we had to trash half of the stuff and give it for free.
I really don't recommand this company. .

A nightmare.

I went with this company because of a good experience a friend had but.. They didn't send the crew that was requested, they sent a crew of 4, 1 elder guy with a broken shoulder and injured knee, 2 young but very weak guys that had to move every single item together including small boxes and nightstand, and then the boss who got very upset with me because I didn't want to sign off 4 them to work 4 additional hours. I return for me not signing off they made this move a night mare, only half of my order was moved, so I had the boss wrapping the 3 PC sofa that took 45 mins is the hour and 30 min work time, the eldest guy doing nothing and the two young guys moving everything as a team. Very disappointing also the move was barely 2 miles away and it took them 25 min to get to the destination. I would recommend them to my worst enemy!

Good Job and Very Satisfied.

This was my long distance move which was decided at last moment and with tight budget. To be honest I was a bit skeptical with these guys after reading multiple reviews. I still went with them and am very satisfied with the job they did. Maryam took care of estimates which increased by $300 due to distance between truck and house (this should be told during estimate which they dont). George and Myles did a fantastic job in packing, unpacking and shifting our stuffs without damaging a single item. Pickup and delivery was also done within the specified spread time. Could be more helpful if they can send us dispatch form sooner. Strongly recommended and I personally would use their service again if needed.
PS - number of items were same as in estimate during pickup which did not increase the estimate cost.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Horrible company not to be trusted!!

I have used this company for the past 5 years and all previous moves were great. They were on time and on estimate, which all were local moves. My last move that was on 9/9/16, a long distance move to Florida was HORRIBLE!! They picked up my furniture on 9/9/16 and was given an estimate for $1700, after they were finished my estimate went to $2200. I contacted Maryam my moving specialist and to no surprise she didn't answer. Left numerous messages and no call back. I then spoke with Steve the Office manager and he advised me that since one item was different than my listing they had the right to recalculate it. On Monday 9/11/16 I arrived in Florida and contacted Ez Movers back to check the status of my order as I was told by Maryam that it would by my first available delivery date of 9/14/16. To no surprise another LIE! This is the date Steve informed me was the date they would begin to drive to Florida. As of Friday 9/16/16 my furniture is still in IL and I'm in Florida paying for a hotel to be able to not sleep in the floor. I have asked to talk with the owner Eric and was informed that he doesn't interact with clients. I would never recommend this company to ANYONE. They will lie to you and provide you misleading information to get you to use their services, then once they have your goods they will take their sweet time to deliver it to you. Hopefully sometime by the 27th of September I will have my furniture and clothes hopefully undamaged.

Untrained drivers!

Except Brian Ross from sales, most of the office folks answering calls are rude and unhelpful. I don't know where to start about their truck drivers. If you sign up for a long distance move, they have semi-trailers picking up your items and dropping off. I have seen these semi trailers getting into so many apartment communities without causing a scene. But EZmovers' drivers are different. They will not enter the moment they realize its an apartment community they need to enter. Their drivers will try offering nice deals to you that if you pay certain amount by cash, they can take the extra distance off the final estimate and will also give you some discount!! Its just crappy service, hidden clauses/costs, and ya they will somehow manage damaging some of your furniture. When you try telling them while packing that something needs more packaging or better handling, they will ask you to mind your business and that they have been in business for many many years and know what they are doing. Well I wonder how they continue doing business. I really hope no one has to go through the experience I have had with this company.

Worst Experience Ever.

Absolutely DO NOT trust this company. Go to the Better Business Bureau, their membership was revoked. I did everything they asked to end up with a "binding" "not to exceed" "firm fixed price" "contract" (those are all words that they used or agreed to in writing) and the day before the move, an entirely different company called to say they were contracted by EZ Movers to do my move and that EZ is just a broker.
The day of the move, the driver showed up and did a 5 minute walk through of my house and told me that the $12,352 contract was not valid and the price would be at least $20,000 because I clearly had a lot more stuff to move than I told anyone..except that I had someone do a detailed walk through of my house to create the contract. He yelled at me, in my home, and told me that I did not understand terms like "binding" and "not to exceed". I spoke to someone at EZ while this was going on and was told "it kind of sounds like you are over a barrel and will just have to roll with the punches" - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Fortunately, I had almost two weeks before my closing date and I was able to scramble and get a back up plan! Do not trust EZ Movers and specifically Kevin Kambool!

Please avoid!

The movers were friendly enough but items were damaged, which they acknowledged, apologized for and informed me I should be able to be compensated. They finished earlier than anticipated so I was told I would be entitled to a refund of approximately $125, as they charge you at the beginning of the move for the amount of time they estimate it will take. After the move, I contacted them about the damage to the item and my refund. I was told my refund request was being forwarded and I was given information about filing a claim. I filed the claim and received a letter informing me I would be receiving payment within 30 days. After numerous emails and calls, I have received NOTHING. No refund and no claim reimbursement. The move was July 31st! Not one person has responded to any emails or calls.

EZ Movers have been the worst Movers and Packers I have seen..I hired them for moving my stuff from chicago to north carolina..their sales guy estimated my stuff at 550 cu feet..when the move team came and loaded the stuff it came out to be 450 cu feet. When I asked them to review the quote I was told that I will need to pay for 550 since they have booked that much space for me..which was shocking..second they said it will take 10 business days they delievered on 11th day..third their packing was so fragile many of my stuff was broken..so guys please be cautious while dealing with EZ Movers..they are not a professional company..

Can't even gice them a star- but had to to post review.

DON'T USE THEM,  BUYER BEWARE,  were quoted a price of around $1600 ended up paying close to $3000.  our stuff that they PACKED was destroyed,  STuff we packed not damages,  just the outside of the boxes.  They destroyed of furniture,  large cracks and chips. me things are unusable.  we were basically threatened to pay more money upon pick up "we have your stuff" so you have to pay and sign.  per person who picked up "they were in jail" and now working for them - NICE real nice.  makes me feel safe being told that after they have loaded my belongings and then told we have your stuff so you have to pay.  I will never use them and you shouldn't either.  We haven't been reimbursed and now have to get an attorney to fight with them over the extra charges.  the distance from our apt to the curb is exactly 130 feet yet they charged us for 230 feet and were told to pay.  "We HAVE YOUR THINGS"  had to pay.  then when we called were told the long haul stands, they have pictures,  yeah wonder where they took the pics at.  since I had someone go measure just today to find the exact distance.  what a crock.  now im out the extra moving expense but damage stuff that I can't use and have to replace which will cost me another $1500 to $2000.00.  What a DISHONEST and SCAMMING COMPANY,  I can't believe Susan Komen foundation even wants to be associated with them.  I will never give hem my money just for being associated with such CROOKS.  next time I will use united or mayflower.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Texas

Move.

First let me say the gentlemen doing the actual work, picking up and moving items are top notch. Literally the only reason I give them any stars.

Customer service at this company is appalling. On the day of packing, I was told the crew would be there between 7-9. At 9:30 I was concerned. We tried to call the company. The rep informed us the truck was on its way. Apologized for delay. Traffic in Chicago, you know. At 10:30 I was concerned and irritated. I had a flight that afternoon. I called the number again. Traffic. Yep, traffic. I emailed my rep Kevin K. He emailed right back. Oh that's terrible. I'll check. I then called him directly. Oh, Kevin claimed, they are looking for a parking spot. Can't just stop just anywhere on Chicago streets. Except, Kevin, using your list of Chicago popular excuses may work well 80% of the time. Not when you're in a high rise with a huge loading dock and a huge cul-de-sac. I told him about my situation. They could stop outside. And the front door man could easily tell them where to go. Yet Kevin persisted. Nope. Street parking. Street parking was the problem. I assured him it wasn't, offered to send him a picture and finally inquired as to where they were if wandering the streets. He disappeared for a moment. Returned to tell me they'd been at my apartment building for an hour and a half. An hour and a half. Just SITTING there. I sputtered out, inquiring why they hadn't called. Oh they did, Kevin claimed. I promised him again they had not. I was holding my phone. It had made no sound that morning. Nope, they did. Now, perhaps this is a tactic. Distract the customer with a litany of excuses before getting them to give up and go on foot to search for missing crew. Unfortunately for Kevin, I was sick of his lies. I asked for a supervisor. Kevin then told me "our supervisors are busy and don't have time for people like you." I was so flabbergasted I couldn't speak. He asked what I wanted him to do. I blurted that I wanted to speak to a supervisor and get a discount. Then he informed me that I was obviously upset and he was concerned for the well-being of his crew so he was going to tell them to turnaround and leave. Seeing that I had a plane to catch, I apologized to Kevin (are you kidding me) and then he made me beg for them to do the job. He finished by by informing me they'd do a great job. They did.

Now, I was almost feeling sorry for complaining to Kevin after hearing from the crew chief how he was berated by other customers on a regular basis. In fact, he was assaulted by one the day before. I thought, well, I guess you get what you pay for. And perhaps they have reason to be concerned for their crews.

Of course, then came the delivery. The email I received clearly stated I could expect a delivery from February 6 to the 17th. As you can tell by the date on this review, they clearly showed up early. I'm sure for some people this would not be a problem, but it was Sunday morning before the Super Bowl. And I had no prior notice whatsoever. The driver claimed he called me 10 times (did not) and texted. He gave me the number (227-418-xxxx). I have no clue what area code 227 is, but it's no where I've lived. So I had to scrambled to find an open storage unit on a Sunday morning, to get them someplace to put my things.

To add insult to injury, I was told I had to pay extra because they'd have to walk further than 20 feet (not mentioned ever to me) and I'd be paying cash.

As I stated above, the crews were terrific. Very polite and efficient. Their customer service agents should either receive better training or be fired. They are appalling and why I will never use this outfit again.

Never Use This Company.

EZ movers was awful. They stole or broke most of our things. Silver, Waterford crystal, and then of course didn’t have record of it so they wouldn’t replace. Our boxes arrived infested with mice. Moving long distance.

The worst moving experience ever!! Moving long distance is already a stressful exercise and e-z movers did nothing but add on to that stress, right form the beginning to the end. Their approach was highly unprofessional, in fact it seemed like once I signed up with them ..it was just blackmail and harrassment. they have been indimidating me into agreeing to whatever they say because they are having my stuff and I need that come what may.   *Daniel  (the move co-cordinator)was intimidating and we eevn had a yelling contest at one stage but I ended up apologising fearing the loss to my stuff.  * They did not deliver the stuff on time and conveniently blamed me for not telling them when to bring in the stuff. now, who would do tht..apparently , they wanted a form to be signed which would initiate the delivery process. It was supposed to be signed by us once the driver had picked our stuff, which the driver did not do. Now, it is my fault cos they say tht we have used e-z movers once before and we shud be aware of the process. Not signign tht form was my mistake.  * eventually the form signing formalities were done and the delivery process begins..and so begins the wait cos they give you a 10 business day window when the stuff will reach you. we waited and waited while making numerous calls and facing hardships ( sleeping on the floor, not having enough clothes to wear, going without medication etc etc).  * Finally, I get the 'call" tht my much awaited stuff will be delivered on friday,14th of august 2015 between 2 and 8 pm. I am happy ti see the end of my woes. I take a leave from office and stay at home waiting..nothing!!  i call the driver and he says he cannot make it on friday but will come the next day. * the next day I already have appointments but will they budge, NO. I call e-z movers and the reply I get form Greg is well, we can dump ur things in a storage and will let u know that address, u can make ur own arrangements for getting it. Is this professional reply? instead of working on a solution with me, I am once again intimidated into cancelling my impotant appointments and waiting for them to deliver my stuff.  I am done with e-z movers, never never again my friends and family are going to use them . they are the worst service providers ever.  the worst was their attitude and rudeness..simply because we are left with no option but to give in to their demands.  Pl pl never ever go anywhere near them..
