Horrific!

Please note from the very beginning I asked the pick up driver Sammy to provide me with my updated bill of lading and all he would say repeatedly (3-4 times) is the following: "Don't worry, you'll get it, you can trust me, I've done this thousands of times, believe me/believe in me/please don't ask me again, you'll get it." Yet, he left without providing me with my updated bill of lading, but made certain they had their payment as well as their future payment information on file, and manually signed for. They also had me sign for several things electronically but refused to grant me copies of the electronic information signed, ultimately and eventually stating that "Once you've paid for your invoice in full, you'll get all of your documents." I even called Sammy minutes after he left, leaving a voicemail for him and never heard from him again. I repeatedly called E-Z Movers that day and days, into weeks after, continuously asking my salesman asking for my documentation, and he stated the same, "Once I have paid in full and upon delivery, I'll receive my updated documentation." My hands were tied. This was EXTREMELY unfair how E-Z Movers does business, this way, as well as raising the price by $1k once Sammy arrived on the VERY last day possible to pick up, and I was stuck between a rock and a hard place and no other alternatives. I was quoted on 20 wardrobe moving boxes and Sammy showed up with ZERO wardrobe moving boxes and used ZERO wardrobe boxes. As a matter of fact he contacted me telling me he was at Home Depot picking up additional moving boxes because he wasn't provided with enough for my move. There's NO way this move should've been an additional $1k because I left behind my dining table/four high back dining chairs/my dining room curio and computer desk to save money ALL of which I was quoted on, with the exception of my computer desk. Moving forward, the items missing are as follows: My corner family room cabinet, my Dell computer, my Epson four-in-one printer, my two stone lampstands (we found the shades which were smashed in and your delivery driver I21/Ibrahim A Asal was able to fix those with the exception of the rhinestones that went around the base of the lampshade and those are also missing), my footstool and my two restaurant grade fryer's. My things that are damaged are my Emerson 32" HD television screen completely shattered along the top, my African American Art the actual art is scratched in the upper right corner, the glass was approximately 2" thick and it was smashed in several different places, the approximately 3" thick frame cracked in half, the right arm of my sofa completely torn/ripped off from its base and a hole with stuffing coming out on the front left corner of my sofa. When your driver I21/Ibrahim A Asal first arrived, I asked him for my updated bill of lading. He asked for payment, I gave him $820 in cash, he pulled up a chair, asked me to "Sit and once everything's delivered and signed you'll receive your paperwork, don't worry." I said no, you've been paid I'd like my updated documentation please and he asked where my copy was, I asked for my documentation again and he again refused until delivery was completed. He brought my damaged TV to me, apologized that it hadn't been packed properly, and sat my damaged painting outside on the porch damage facing away, so prior to him finishing, I asked what it was, he again apologized for it not being packed properly and showed me the damaged, and said to contact the company to "take care of it." Once they finished, he asked me to "Come, sit and talk" I sat he asked "Who was there", I asked where? He repeated himself two/three times and FINALLY he says "At the pick up location" I didn't know what he meant so I repeatedly said Sammy and his two helpers, why? He FINALLY said "Who signed the paperwork?" I told him I was the only one signing paperwork, then he pushed a "doctored" bill of lading in my face with my signature at the bottom. I told him that piece of paper was just made up in his truck just now because the ink was fresh and my signature was a copied signature from my payment receipt at the time of pick up. I said are you kidding me right now?! Do you think I'm a fool? Where are the dates on this doctored document?! I took my phone out and began taking pictures and videotaping because I couldn't believe how disturbingly dishonest he was trying to be and at that point he literally got up, ran out the door hiding his face and saying "You have ALL of your things!" I told him I was calling the police because all of my things weren't there! I was looking for my computer and my printer because I need those NOW, and they're NOWHERE to be found! It was painfully and almost immediately apparent my curio cabinet wasn't on that truck (I took pictures as soon as those doors opened because Sammy kept asking about the value of my things which made me uncomfortable at the pick up, amongst other things) he said "Why call the police, this is a civil matter!" I said exactly, I and I need a report of it all, he kept saying "I have nothing to do with any of this, its between you and the company." I told him he is representing THE COMPANY so he has EVERYTHING to do with this! He didn't want to be videotaped so he asked how could we work it all out, without calling the police, I told him to just sign the receipt I gave to him that he received the cash I paid him and he could leave and I'd deal with the rest via claims in care of E-Z Movers period. I videotaped him signing he asked me to electronically sign off on the delivery, I vehemently and utterly in light of the forgery that just went on and asked him again to leave.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Georgia

Scam. Dont hire them.

Think twice before you hire them.

1-) The job was subcontracted to a different moving company without my consent and discussion. The persons who came to pick up items did not introduced correctly. I had a contract with E-Z Movers, they were supposed to pick up my items between 08/22 to 08/24. However on Friday 08/23 on my call, they informed me that can not make it on Saturday and would be able to pick up the items next week. However I was flying to GA on 08/26 2am. The contact person told me that he will call back after discussing with his management. On my call in the evening they told me that they will pick up the items on Sunday 08/25. They did not inform me that the job has been subcontracted. When the movers came to my house for the pickup, they introduced as E-Z Movers. After they picked up all the items, gave me new bill and asked for full payment. The invoice was from Southern Van lines. Then upon my asking, I was told that they got the job and I need to pay them in full. They also added Fuel Charges and Material charges for approx of $400/- (a little less). Upon some argument, I gave them $400/- so that I get sometime and talk to E-Z Movers about it.

2-) Incorrect contact (sub contractor) was provided. The invoice I got after the pickup had incorrect contact info of Southern VanLines. Later I found out that the moving was done by Sunshine (something, don't have the full company details as I was never told).

3-) Payment Terms were violated. Per my contract with E-Z movers. I had to pay 25% initially which I did, then 75% via credit card on pickup and remaining in cash on delivery. After the pickup, I was asked to pay in full in cash. Upon argument I paid $400 in cash as that was my last day and wanted to talk to E-Z Mover about the situation.

4-) Unauthorized / discussed charges. I was charged approx $400 for fuel surcharge and materials (187.12 + 100.50 to be exact). They hold up items and asked me to pay first the full amount including the disputed ones. I called E-Z Movers on 08/30 and emailed them about the situation. I was asked to pay the amount and get my items. E-Z Movers agreed to reimbursed the unauthorized charges. I paid the remaining amount and got my items on 09/07

5-) Items and property (delivery) was damaged. The items were handled very unprofessionally and lot of them were damaged significantly. The property was damaged too. The delivery driver told me that he does not work for the company and don't care about any damage.

6-) Delay and No-response on claim from E-Z Movers and/or their partner. The claim for damages and reimbursement of unauthorized charges were submitted on 09/10 (or so) but did not receive any update and proper response.

Go With Anyone Else.

I was referred to EZ Movers by a friend who had a positive experience with them in the past.  I could not have been more disappointed by their service.

I was quoted $470 for a move from the suburbs to the city.  I was advised to purchase my own packaging materials (tape, shrink wrap, bubble wrap) to save money.  I received 15 boxes and the use of 5 wardrobe boxes included in the quote.  I was told the move would take 4 hours, including the hour drive.

It appeared that two of the movers were somewhat new and were not sure what they were doing.  The foreman kept yelling at one in particular, especially when he was using their packaging materials instead of the ones I spent $70 for!  It became clear that it was going to take much longer than the quoted 4 hours.  When I called the office to discuss, I was told that unless I signed a new quote, they would unpack the entire truck and would leave.  They anticipated that the move would end up taking 6 hours..at an extra $99 per hour!

We got to my new apartment and they began moving things in, but paid absolutely no attention to anything that was marked as to where it should go.  It ended up taking them 5.5 hours to do the job.  The foreman charged me for the use of wardrobe boxes, even though they were supposed to be included.  I ended up paying $627..$157 more than I was quoted.  If I had known this, I would have gone with a different company.

I thought I would be nice and provided the movers with a box of muffins, bagels, cream cheese, Gatorade, and a 12 pack of water.  Rather than just taking a few, they kept everything for themselves!

When I complained to the company, they explained that the person who provided me the quote was no longer with the company.  The only compensation they offered was reimbursement for the wardrobe boxes.  They then wanted me to sign a release saying that I would not file a complaint with the BBB.  I told them they could keep the reimbursement.

This is my first experience with a moving company and I will NEVER go with this company again and highly recommend no one else does.

Long-distance move from Illinois to South Carolina

Do Not Use!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Moved from Illinois on 7/15/13. Truck arrived in South Carolina on 7/22/13. My box of china, which I had packed carefully with bubble wrap between the plates and all else (and was a brand new box), had TUMBLED DOWN OFF MY STACK OF BELONGINGS to an empty part of the truck. Dishes were smashed and some even hanging out the bottom of the box. I only asked for $200 back to replace some china, and EVEN WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE they refused.Again, I repeat, DO NOT USE E-Z MOVERS, you WILL regret it.

Worse move ever!

Worse moving experience ever, I never post on Yelp but I don't want someone else to go through what I did. THIS IS A WARNING! I was quoted $600-800 and ended up paying nearly  $2,000! Let's just start with saying they are more expensive then any competitor at about $115 an hour.  I called to get my quote and I was told it would be about $300-400 to move everything. I was more then ok with that and even if it went up to $500 I would have been to. I was also told you get charged hourly which again makes sense but when the movers come they quote you how many hours they think it will take and inform you it may be more then what they think it will take. I was told the movers would arrive between 12-2pm and they arrived at 2:35 pm. They walk in and quote me 7 hours for the job and it would come out to about $750. I was in shocked but had no choice but to continue and sign whatever they quoted me. I asked if we could just start and stop the clock and see how long it would take us but he said they don't charge hourly? and he also informed me that it may as well take longer and it would be more expensive if it did, which contradicts them not charging hourly!?So in order for me not to pay more the what was quoted, the obvious thing to do is to help the movers move things since I would not want to pay extra on top of the ridiculous quote especially not at $115 an hour. So at this point I started moving things by myself by the time they even started I had already cleared and moved 1/4 of the stuff I wanted them to take but because they were telling me it would take them forever to wrap and move everything even after the already saw all the stuff and quoted me! I really don't want to continue in detail so here are some obvious noes. The mover tried to make me happy and tell me that it would be less then what he quoted me by subtracting my $100 deposit from my total thinking I would forget about it!  One of the movers had STAFF INFECTION and kept touching his infection and proceeded to touch/move my belongings. I was on the in their truck moving and loading my belongs as well as wrapping/taping my belongings. They did not put beds back together that they took apart.I did my own inventory of the items being brought in since they were just going to bring things up without inventorying and match with what they took. I have more to say but I get frustrated thinking back to everything that has happened.Overall I ended up paying $1,800! FAIR WARNING TO ALL STAY AWAY!

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Read This.

READ THIS!EVERY SINGLE POSTIVE POST ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS PROBABLY FROM SOMEONE RELATED TO THE COMPANY.I had heard (and read on Yelp and other sites) very negative things about this company.  However, a family member had a friend who worked there and as such, we discarded our better judgment and used them anyway.  If I was going to write a review of everything that went wrong, I really feel as though I would have a 300 page novel.  All I will say is that everything you read about this company on the internet is TRUE.  They are AWFUL.  As a reference point, my husband has been in business for over 20 years and has owned, operated and sold successful businesses.  His comment about these guys is that best case, they are incompetent.  Worse case, they are liars and criminals.  BTW, I have never written a negative review about anything.  I just never felt compelled to do so because when something went sideways, I was able to resolve the issue with the company directly. Not the case here - do yourself a favor and find an alternative.  Given all of the negative feedback about this company, GO ELSEWHERE.  There are plenty of other movers - there is no reason to put yourself through the frustration that these guys offer.

Long-distance move from Illinois to California

Just Read my Worst Experience so Far.

All I will say is that everything you read about this company on the internet is TRUE.  But practically these folks are incompetent and very dishonest to maintain their commitment. They normally inform quotation by phone (even though if you asked them to come to your home for an actual quotation, they do not entertain that, I did not know the reason at the time of booking; but now I came to know….”Why these folk do not come to customer’s house to say proper quotation”, Reason is: I hired them for moving my stuff from IL to CA and their sales guy estimated my stuff at 400 cu feet..when the movers team came and loaded the stuff it came out to be less than that . So I asked them to revise the quote but they are disagreed to do that as I was told that I will need to pay for 400 since they have booked that much space for me..which was really ridiculous…!!More over one of the customer sales representative told me(before mover came to my house for packing items) , if there is any change required they can do that on the day of movement/loading items…but there is lot of communication gap between the "movers came to my house to pack items" and the sales representative guy"…….!!    EZ Movers have been the worst Movers and Packers I have seen . MY items were stolen….This company should carry all the negative feedback , so there is honest suggestion that find for OTHER MOVERS,  There are plenty of other movers- there is no reason to put yourself through the frustration that these guys offer best…….

Long-distance move from Illinois to Michigan

The Worst Moving Experience Ever.

I would not even give them 1 star.  They verbally promised to deliver my furniture from Chicago to Southwest Michigan (a total of 75 miles) in a day or two with a local truck.  When they showed up 17 days later, they had the largest 18 wheeler I had ever seen so they wanted to charge me four hundred dollars more because they couldn't get their truck down the street because it was so huge.  They said they would deliver my items on saturday between 1 and 4.   They never showed then the driver called me and said he would be there between 9 and 10 am Sunday morning.  No heads up from company about delivery.  All of my items were damaged in some way.  Rugs were wet and dirty because they didn't wrap them.  A priceless midcentury buffet that my parents bought in 1956 in Denmark was in perfect condition when they picked it up - when they delivered it, one leg was broken off.  All of my upholstered furniture was only wrapped in plastic wrap (which they did) and not covered with blankets, so all of my furniture had dirt spots on them from where they had been dragged.  Also. almost every leg on every chair was chipped.  New dressers and armoires were chipped in multiple places.  One box had split open.  This is the worst long-distance moving company ever.  Every person I spoke to lied (the sales person, the manager, the dispatcher) and the way they talked to me made me think they had been through this before.  How dare the manager get upset with me for calling him unprofessional.   They are totally incompetent, I was worried I might not ever see my furniture again, so when it finally arrived I was just glad to see it again.  I wish I had read all of these reviews first. .

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Texas

Crooks.

CROOKS and SHADY.. MY items were stolen!! listen people I do not write reviews on things no matter how bad the experience was BUT this time I have to say something.. where do I start.. I am prior military so I have moved a million times and this by far was the WORSE moving experience EVER! I chose this company because they were the most persist.  I had a very small long distance move from a storage unit in one state to my apartment in another state.  I informed them I would need packing and would have someone there to open the storage unit (bad idea not being there myself) But never the less the movers showed up on time and loaded my items.  fast forward a few days later the truck arrived with my things to my shock half of my things were not packed and secured and there was tape wrapped around random things.. I started to unpack and did not see my child' video games console(s), IPOD mount and some other electronics..which I had placed in a laundry basket in the storage.. all the games were missing but one.  they never even packed the items in the basket. They put a green number sticker on the basket and loaded it up. The movers brought my things in and ensure I marked off that I received all the "containers.  All of the containers were there BUT MY THINGS WERE MISSING OUT OF THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT PACKED AND SECURED.  Any one could stick there hands in a laundry basket and take what they wanted and leave the basket!! (yes I am upset).  In addition to the missing items one of my flat screen TVs was not on the inventory list and I asked the movers where the TV was.. after scrambling thru my things the TV was found wrapped in one of my blankets with a roll of tape wrapped around it.  I have never seen a flat screen packed this way in all of my moving experience however my other TV was properly packed but must have dropped because I have a big purple line going down it now.   When I called the driver all he kept saying was all the containers were accounted for and off his truck.. getting no where with the driver I called EZ movers who told me to file a claim. I completed the form and sent it back.. fast forward a few days later I get a letter in the mail saying my claim is invalid and all my "containers were delivered and checked off by me. ONCE AGAIN YES I received the so called containers BUT MY ITEMS WERE MISSING OUT OF THEM!!.  These people are shady and business practice need to be investigated ASAP! My things were stolen and I feel violated and disgusted. (I did not spell check but you get my point).
