I thought I was signing a contract with Empire Moving Group. Instead they put my move on a board for other low life movers such as OASIS out of Los Vegas. What was estimated to be a $15,000 move is now a $25,000 move with this company OASIS. This is a front and those ratings of top 10 is nothing but a scam to fish you in. They showed up with Budget Trucks and once they had my furniture loaded they then sprang the additional $10,500 cost to move cross country. Oh then they were to store my furniture for several months for about $1300 a month with one month free. Well I get a call that the cost is almost $2900.00 a month to store my furniture. Yes indeed these Peeps are a scam and they have no interest in helping you they just make their $3800.00 broker fee and turn you over to the hostage takers and you have no idea until you are in the swamp.

Kyle was my contact with Empire and he never disclosed he was just a clown behind the a bait and switch and that EMPIRE is nothing but a shell a BROKER. They do not move anyone. They put you on the bail and switch board for the hostage takers to real you in.

I had no warning that I was signing up for some back alley moving company OASIS out of Los Vegas.

My mother was looking to get a driver to transports her household items from Utah to North Dakota. She explained with the representative each of her items in detail, how many boxes she had, the size of her couches, etc. - every detail they needed to accurately determine the size of the trailer needed to move. The Representatives name was ALEX, his direct line is 561-221-6727. After the Rep secured $1900 from my mother-in-law, he then decided to inform her that the size of the vehicle was 8ft W, 10ft L, and 7ft Tall. Which would not fit all of the items , unless of course you threw all her belongings into a wood shredder first and proceeded to shovel the wood chips into the trailer. If you look at the other negative google reviews (which are the actual reviews , the positive ones are made by a full time employee of theirs whos job is to bury the negative reviews with fake positive ones - I know this because I worked in this industry and ended up quitting because of the unethical behavior) you will see how this company actually works. Once I caught wind of her situation, I knew that I was seeing a red flag, I immediately had her call to cancel the the deposit that was charged for services not being rendered as stated. The Rep ALEX continued to harrass via text, every message stating that she would NOT get the money back, which is an intimidation tactic to prevent the victim from filing the chargeback with the credit card company.

Beware!!!! I'm extremely upset with my whole move done by Empires outsourcing. For 2 1/2 months I have waited for my missing items, and for someone to pick up the numerous items belonging so some other family. Outsourced twice so everyone is passing the blame. I cant even get a claim filed with them, no return calls. No updates. Just transferred to someone else everytime I call. From the beginning nothing was as they said it would be. A whole lot of money for a huge headache and additional cost to replace items.

Consider this your lucky day. By checking the reviews you are saving yourself a mistake that many before you made, including myself. Do not move forward with Empire Moving Company. They are liars. First off it is important to know that Empire is a broker company, so they don’t actually move anything. They go and find you a moving company (no matter the reputation or ratings) and then charge you a fee to do nothing. They promised me delivery dates and made it seem like they could actually control these factors, when they, in fact, cannot. They might give you a spiel about how other moving companies will hit you with a bunch of hidden fees at pick up and delivery, when in reality this is exactly what Empire does. The salesman [NAME EDIT[ told me this and I was dumb enough to eat it right up. After paying the deposit and seeing all the hidden fees, I called [NAME EDIT] to complain and call him out on his lie and then he said that he would waive any of these fees for me. Well after getting my delivery date pushed back and calling customer service to confirm I will not have to pay stair fees or long distance carrying fees, I spoke with [NAME EDIT] who said that they talked to Eric and they will take care of those fees. Come delivery day, customer service said they “pulled the calls” and have no record of this and they will not cover any fees. After laughing out of disbelief, I asked for the calls and they said they will not release them without an attorney subpoena. So I ended up moving everything off the truck into my place myself. I did get everything delivered, but it was one of the worst and most stressful processes of my life. Empire is a dishonest company. Save yourself the grief and just move on.

Do NOT listen to the salesperson you first talk to. They (in my case, Erik Kramer) are SALES PEOPLE and will lie to you and pressure you to sign up for the move. Then, they will contract the move out to companies, who lie about how many belongings you have, price gouge without providing evidence, and not take everything from your apartment (luckily I was driving so I had to get rid of some plants to make room for the boxes and mirror). The customer service team is so aloof, rude, abrasive, and unhelpful in resolving an issue when the moving company ILLEGALLY showed up to my new place at 9 PM at night, and threatened to leave to California if I couldn't take my things. It was against apartment regulations to have any deliveries. The movers had never moved anything prior to this (literal first day) and did not speak any english. Because it was their first day, and because it took over 5 hours (they were still unloading at 3 AM), they gave up on moving the couch into my apartment and left it downstairs. I was told by my apartment building I could not put it there, and was required to put it outside on the streets of New York and hope for the best. They abandoned me and did not finish the job, and Empire continually takes zero blame and offers no helpful information because they are "not the moving company just the broker". DO NOT USE EMPIRE.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We called Empire Moving and had a contract with them. [NAME EDIT] told me he would be my contact through the entire process. I never spoke with him, again. He as always on the phone, they said. Left messages and he never returned my calls. Crappy service!! They sent VDMD that Saturday. Our quote was for $2450. When VDMD arrived, they hit us with an additional $1483.66 AFTER the truck was loaded. Empire was closed at that time, so I could not complain. When we arrived in Florida, we had to pay the original remaining balance of approx. $1400 and the additional $1483.66. That's $3974.00 to move a two bedroom apartment. They counted the lamp shades and the lamp separately. Oh, and be sure to count your vacuum cleaner, any cooler, brooms, mops. In other words, every damned thing they have to touch. I was not told this by Empire, so I hold them to blame as well. They will get this same review!! Screw these guys to the wall!! I called Empire the following day and they said since I didn't contact them on Saturday, there was nothing the could do. THEY WERE ALREADY CLOSED!! What the heck was I supposed to do??? The entire thing was BS and I will tell anyone and everyone to NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I will rent a UHaul and hire college students the next time I move.

Do not utilize this company. They provide you with 3rd party movers. Empire told me my items would arrive around Early/Mid April, 2022. They told me only if I needed storage would my items come later. That was not the case. It has been weeks and my items were placed in storage simply because the third party company can take up to 30 days for delivery. The company they provided me is known as Carefree movers.

Horrible customer service from both parties.

They baited me into a price and upon pick up arrival they gave me a new estimated price and added fuel price. Empire has failed to contact me via phone or email on where my items are. They say a manager will return the call and they never have. It’s been weeks and now they want me to contact the 3rd party Comapny which took weeks to tell me my items never left the state that I moved from. I could have done this myself.

Read the contract because it automatically probes you to sign for no insurance which the items they damage will only be refunded 0.60 cents per pound. They will not give you a full refund of the item purchased.

This company is a scam. I talk to someone name Chris ( not his real name) regarding moving from Fenton, MI to Orlando, Florida. He stated that he had a almost full truck and could do it for $2,600 because it was on the way and they needed to fill the truck. I specifically asked him if he was a BROKER and he said NO, that was a lie. The movers "Hello Movers" not Empire Movers arrived and only gave me 300 cubic feet for my things. I said that wouldn't secure all my things and that I would get another company. he stated my $900 deposit was non refundable. I didn't want to lose my money so I told him to fill the space. Chris stated I would get my items in 3 days because remember he was headed this way. they picked up my iteme on July 30th and it's now August 23rd they moved my furniture from a clean secure storage unit to a warehouse in Farmington hills, MI which is approximately 20 miles. The moving company "HELLO MOVERS" contracted by Empire moving will not tell me when I will receive my furniture and they have the nastiest attitude. I am definitely look to bring a Class Action lawsuit against Empire Moving and Hello Movers. If we do nothing they will continue to mislead and scam others. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!!! My items are currently being held hostage and their customer service teams gets aggressive when you follow up. I have been over talked, spoken to disrespectfully and yet still no drop off date for my items. Empire is a broken and the company they sub contracted t is refusing to give me a delivery ETA. Do no do this! Also they attempted to double the price eon the day of pick up forcing my to rent a haul and store half my items so that I could use another mover company later on.This broker and its affiliates are scammers. I have since filed a police report, and an official complaint with http://fmcsa.dot.gov/ and am preparing to take legal action.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2100

First, they are a broker but they don’t mention that . To keep it short and sweet, they get you to sign a contract “estimate”, knowing the price is going to change. They quoted one price, knowing all details, then upon arrival acted surprised about the golf cart they charged me extra to haul (twice extra actually since they charged $400 for it and then didn’t include it on the itemized list, then added another $600 to get it on the list. The rep, Eli, played victim and acted like he’s in trouble and tried to add $1200, then we agreed to half that). When driver(SannahVanLines) arrived he claimed the cart would take the entire 749 cft they allotted for on the “estimate”. That’s where they get you. They then told me the rate would now be over $7,000 (remember it started at $5,000). When I tried to explain the conversation I had with Eli and that everything was clear, all they wanted to do was tell me they have a signed contract and if they don’t load 749cft of my goods and I send them away I lose the $2596 deposit. And to top it off they were rude and hung up on me. A second manager called with a slightly better (fake) demeanor but told me the same rehearsed lines. The fact that there was nothing unique about my experience and they had well rehearsed lines tells me all I (and you) need to know. This is their standard business practice. If there are so many issues like this why haven’t they tried to ensure up front everything is covered so we don’t get into this position? Because it’s their business model. I can’t imagine how they’d handle my goods not arriving on the promised (I’m sure they’d hide behind another word here) dates. I will eat the deposit before I trust them with my goods. I highly discourage you from using this company. And I NEVER write reviews. They are that bad!
