Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Helped take some of the stress out of my move to TX.

I had extensively searched for reviews online, and eventually came across East Coast Moving and Storage which has high praise on several other websites. When I called my brother in law who's in the military and has to move back and forth between military bases from Florida to South Carolina he highly recommended ECM&S. So I went with it and it payed off tremendiously not only was the price competitive, but they really took some of the stress out of the move. The professionalism and courteousness of the staff was surprising from a moving company, but it helped me to manage my things and make sure everything was organized effectively for the move. I would definitely use them again heaven forbid we have to move back to FL.

Long-distance move from Florida to Kansas

My move from Florida.

My husband and I found our moving experience better than expected. We were moving from Florida to Kansas and they were the best movingcompanywith syaying in our range of expectancy to pay and estimates from other moving companies we paid about $4,000 which was$500 less than others. They are made our move go smooth they were careful with our things and arrived on time and we were completely satisfied.

Long-distance move from Florida to Missouri

Terrible Experience.

We have had problems with them since they knew they had our service. They changed the date on us 2 days before pick up and promised a discount. When asked about the discount, the representative did not remember giving us one. They quoted us at one price and then after the truck was loaded, the price jumped $600. And not everything was loaded. We have had terrible customer service and given the run around numerous times. I would not recommend these guys.

Long-distance move from Texas to Colorado

Very bad experience with East Coast Moving and Storage.

East Coast Moving and Storage is a rogue company. They gave us a binding estimate then after they loaded all our stuff, now the price is double without even speaking with us first. Now they are holding our stuff hostage and our rep will not return our calls, voicemails, or emails. Also one of the loaders repeatedly asked my sister for a ride home even though there was room on the truck for him. How inappropriate! Consumers beware!

Long-distance move from Florida to Maryland

Don't trust them!

I have moved a lot in my career and this was the WORSE company ever.  I went item by item from an inventory list and got a quote, once they got there 2 days late, they wanted almost double what they quoted me.  Never would answer phones, driver and company lied about where the truck was.  I would bet that the 5 star reviews were written by people who work for the company.  Don't trust them!

Long-distance move from Florida to Arkansas

Creative and capable.

I work for the government and always get moved around in a year or two. This time it was from Tallahassee, FL to Little Rock, AR. I hired East coast moving because they have an impeccable reputation in the market. They gave me a very rational rate for today’s market. I was very impressed seeing their crew arriving with all the proper equipment and their vans were in very good condition. It was the quickest move of my life given how efficiently the men worked. They were like machines packing and loading all my stuff systematically. There was no chaos anywhere. All my stuff was delivered 3 days later as promised and everything was in excellent condition. These movers really know their business and I am very grateful to them.

Long-distance move from Illinois to New York

Horrible, Unprofessional Company.

I know you're probably reading these reviews to decide if you should use East Coast for your move, and I'm here to warn you against it - avoid this company, at all costs. I know the price sounds really great, and they will promise to deliver your items on time, but as someone who has made the mistake of hiring this company, these are empty promises. I needed a company for my daughter's move from the Chicago area to New York City. I originally hired a different company, and I then spoke with Jason, a senior relocation specialist, and he was very adamant that they would deliver on June 1st. He seemed so confident, and was able to convince me to switch to their company, which I would later learn was a huge mistake. I booked them feeling confident that they were true to their word. I received a quote for $1766. Once they came for pick up on May 24th, I had to pay an additional $260 for 80 sq ft of space that I went over. I found this suspicious since I actually ended up shipping LESS items than in the original estimate, but it was too late to back out, so I paid and they were on the way. I spoke again with Jason on May 27th to confirm the June 1st delivery, and he said the truck was on its way to New York. I later found out from the driver, that he didn't even leave the facilities in Illinois until May 29th, so Jason had previously lied to me.Upon my arrival in New York on Monday, June 1st at 10:00 AM (which is when I was told the truck would arrive) I attempted to call Jason to let him know that I was at the drop-off location, awaiting the truck's arrival. He didn't answer, and I was put on hold for 20 minutes, so I finally hung up and tried calling back but couldn't get through to anyone. At this point, I began to panic, because my wife, daughter, her boyfriend and two cats were all relying on their items arriving on time, and it was especially important because of the cats. When I finally got through to someone, I was informed that the truck was still on its way to New York. This completely took me by surprise, as I was told it had left on May 27th. At this point, I was told the truck MAY arrive on Tuesday, but the woman I spoke to "wasn't sure." She said to call back tomorrow. In a panic, as we had cats and an empty apartment, we called around to find the cheapest, pet-friendly area hotel we could find. On Tuesday morning, I called to get an update, and I found out that the truck wouldn't be arriving for at least 1-2 more days. It took multiple phone calls, once again, to get any information from anyone. My wife and I came out specifically to help with the move, and we only had a few more nights to stay out there. At this point, we realized we had been taken advantage of, and we were all completely stressed out and frustrated by the unprofessionalism of this company.Later that same day, I was able to get the truck driver's information. I spoke with John (the driver) and told him my situation and that we absolutely needed the items to be there  on Wednesday. He said it would cost an extra $350 to get an expedited shuttle, and I said that I would pay the $350 if it meant the items would be delivered on Wednesday morning. The next morning when I called to confirm the arrival time, John informed me that they won't have time to do it, and that we'd have to continue waiting until they can get around to our delivery. We didn't end up receiving our items until noon on Friday, June 5th. This is almost a week after the original date we agreed on. Upon arrival, John also ended up charging us an extra $150 for a step-fee, & he also charged us $350 for the expedited shuttle that we didn't even use. Here's a breakdown of charges for my move:Original quote $1766Additional 80 sq.ft $260 Step charge $150 (should have been $140 but John miscalculated)Shuttle charge $350 (never ended up using)Hotel cost $787 Total move cost $2526 ($3,313 with additional hotel cost)A move that should have cost me $1766, ended up costing $3,313, due to the misleading practices of the company and the falsified contract. It's now July 19th, and I have since made several phone calls, and sent several emails and nobody will speak to me, because they don't want to issue a refund. Jason has disappeared completely. I have also filed a case with the BBB, and have still come to no resolution with the company. The last exchange was from East Coast saying that they would be in contact with me, so we could speak with them directly regarding the refund, and of course no one has contacted me. I have done my research & I know my rights through the FMCSA. All in all, I am owed a refund of over $1100, and I will not give up until I've received what is owed to me. This experience was a nightmare for my family and I, and I hope we can warn others to avoid this company at all costs. Please save yourself the headache (and the money) and go with a different moving company!

Long-distance move from Illinois to New York

HORRIBLE company!!

Horrible company. Do NOT use. We requested delivery 5 days after pick-up date. I noticed in the quote that there was a 14-day delivery window clause, but the sales rep assured me that was just a formality and that our furniture would be delivered on our requested date. It is now 9 days after pick-up date, so I called customer service and they told me that "we don't have a truck available to deliver your furniture". How can you not have enough trucks when someone has been waiting over a week for their belongings ? Then I asked when can I expect it to be delivered and the response was "I can't tell you when but by law we have 14 days to deliver". I'm thinking to myself why did that sales rep tell me it could be delivered on my requested date when in reality they deliver whenever they want. This is horrible business principle. Just because your contract allows you 14 days, it doesn't mean it's good customer service to expect your customers a to live without their belongings for 2 weeks. In addition, the move distance is only 800 miles, which can be driven in 12 hours easily. They charged 3000$ for this, and I wouldn't even call this a service- it is a HUGE disservice. Will be reporting this business to higher authorities.

Long-distance move from Florida to Virginia

Unhappy, no delivery yet!

Salesman great.  So far I still have no ETA on my things.  Every 2 or 3 days, they tell me 2 or 3 days.. four times now!  Where are their trucks?  Why don't they know where they are?  Why do I get the same story four times now?  I'd like my things delivered please!  They picked up my items at storage in Florida, and I need delivery in Virginia.  Not fun sitting in an empty house.

Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Great Service.

I never used a moving service before, and they made it easy, quick, and professionally done. They come on time to my location and got right to work. I did not have to tell them to be careful or to watch it. I trusted them with my fraglie items, and they treated my thongs like it was there own things. They where organized and set on how they put all my things in the truck. They did all of this in a great about of time as well. I am happy with service, and if I need to move from texas to florida again, I would call them. The move went well!
