Long-distance move from Simi Valley, CA to Elgin, SC

Scam!

This company is a scam! They quoted me on the phone without ever coming to do a visual inspection and told me the original price would be $7000. The second time they called me to confirm my inventory the price jumped to $9000. The day the movers arrived they told me the binding estimate they made me was very incorrect. They then told me the price would be $17,000. I had no choice as I already made a deposit and had no other company to call but to use the company. Since the day my items were picked up I have tried to find out what day I would be receiving them and have only been yelled at by their customer service agents. The customer service agents have called me impatient, said I was a liar, and that I am demanding too much. They put me on hold to get me to hang up and I am still without my things. It has been 21 business days since they picked up my things and I have no date of delivery. They promise everything to get you to sign the contract and then they scam you. This is a horrible company. Do yourself a favor and get a uhaul. Never use this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

This company LIES about everything. Do NOT use them. And when you call them on their lies and cancel, they refuse to return your deposit. They are a COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!! Be smart and hire another company. They will promise you all kinds of things, and then days before your move, change things which will, of course, raise your costs. I cancelled them anyway and did the move myself using UHaul, which was a total pain....however, after seeing all the other reviews I think it was the best choice I made. This company is the WORST. I'm filing complaints with the BBB as well, and any other place I can find to warn people about NOT using them. If there was a way to give a ZERO, I would.

AWFUL!

Do NOT use this company. I thought I was getting a quote from Two Men and a Truck as I knew them to be reputable. Somehow we ended up with these clowns. Before they get your money they're polite and responsive. After you're hooked and you find out they don't stand behind their assurances, all bets are off. The "supervisor" was completely unprofessional and condescending. BEWARE!! I just pray that my son's belongings get delivered eventually. He'll be sleeping on a blow-up mattress until then.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Unsatisfactory

The movers showed up 3 days late and at 9:00 p.m. at night. They said they didn't have room for all of our stuff and wanted an additional $1,000. One of the movers used our bathroom and made a terrible mess. Now they want $1,300 to drop off the furniture and we didn't even get half of it. I think this is a SCAM do not deal with them. They are unresponsive to phone calls and emails. I will never do this again. It basically costs us $3,500 to move 2 beds and 10 boxes.

Long-distance move from Foothill Ranch, CA to Sarasota, FL

Absolute scam, horrible, awful

First this place is a total scam, and the positive reviews you see on here are from current employees or friends. Check out their complaints on BBB and also with the FMCSA.

They are brokers and they under estimate you space requirements to beat out any competing quote you might have. My quote increased 50% from the first estimate, and about 35% from the second estimate they gave me which was through a video call to verify the space.

One week prior to pick up they have someone from their "QA" department reach out to you to validate your space, you guessed it your quote will increase more do to under quoted space. This time it is too late to request a refund on your deposit and in many cases too late to find a new mover.

Also they are required by law to provide you a list of the moving companies they work with. This did not happen for me. The movers they use are horrible. I was lucky enough to have MoverVan Lines and they were horrible. Broken TV, table, refrigerator, the list goes on. Way more to replace my good than the move itself. Some of the damage was just over the top, like breaking off the legs of a table by the bolts and wrapping them in blankets separately. How do you explain that?

At all cost take the negative reviews on here the BBB, and the FMCSA seriously. AVOID

Long-distance move from Madison, AL to The Colony, TX

Poor service and not a moving company

DO NOT USE EAGLE MOVING OR INSTA MOVERS FOR OUT OF STATE MOVE

Eagle moving was suggested to me by my recruiter.

Eagle moving gave me an estimate based on an inventory list I supplied.

Started at $4900.

I added a few more items to my inventory before the movers showed up.

This jumped my cost up to $7000. It was 100 cubic feet. Added another $2,000.

Eagle movers told me they were a full service mover. So on moving day I expected a professional moving company to show up called "Eagle Movers".

Instead, I found out they are a broker, and they contracted a terrible 2 star company out of Birmingham called Insta-Movers.

The guys moving were nice enough, but clearly not professional movers.

No stair protection was put on the stairs.

They used my broom to prob the door open and destroyed it, instead of using a proper wedge. Things a professional moving company would not do.

I was not told by Eagle moving company that there was a hidden stair fee. I also told them I had a dresser mirror during estimate stage.

They did not tell me it was extra to wrap and crate it.

I told Eagle movers I had a China cabinet

They did not tell me there was an extra fee to crate it.

Another hidden fee.

On moving day

Instamovers added another 250 cubic feet which they didn't even use, which bumped me up to 8,900.

Some mistake was made on my paper work, a discount of $1,600 was shown.

After I signed everything insta-movers dispatch called me and told me I owed them another $1,600 for and added 250 cubic feet that the driver added to make sure they were covered with space.

I haven't received my stuff here yet, and I'm absolutely furious with the entire situation since I went from $4,900 to $8,900.

On arrival day

I was told mover would be there at 5pm

They called at 6 and told me they had a truck issue and would be there the next morning (I don't believe that for a second)

I was also told they only accept money order or cash even though my receipt has an option for cashiers check.

My receipt from pick up with my list of items has 3 methods of payment to pick from

Cashiers cheque

Money order

Cash

They would not accept my cashier check from Bank of America.

I had to scramble to get cash

Truck didn't show up in the morning

I had to call them and ask where they were

Said the truck still wasn't fixed

ill post an update once my goods are delivered

Long-distance move from South Hamilton, MA to Saint George, UT

The worst experience ever

This company should be shut down immediately. I feel so sorry for the many customers that can be deceived like we were. They charged for everything even after sending the "ultimate" quote. They promised free storage in the destination for up to one month which was a lie. We had to figure out ourselves otherwise pay them another $5000 fee for the service. Almost all our furniture came totally destroyed. Full of soil and dirt. Unbelievable! This "company" is a disaster and has caused unimaginable distress to our family. I will complain legally against them. This is just NOT right. They do not deserve even half of a star.

Long-distance move from Indianapolis, IN to Buford, GA

Terrible Experience

Started with a friendly representative that stated he would be with us the entire move. Once he collected his money it was the last time he answered the phone. Virtually walked through the house using the property listing and documented every single item to be moved (he even asked for measurements). This was completely off when the third party movers showed up (Carolina Blue Transport (who should never be used either)). Estimate was off by over 1,300 cubic feet even though all the items were listed. Not sure what type of math he was using. I would not recommend this company at all. Last time I will ever trust this type of "fly by night" operation. If I learned anything, it would be to spend the money and go with a real moving company.

Irresponsible to Customers

Eagle Moving Group (EMG) is a relocation broker; that is, they hire truckers to make your move, i.e., those truckers are responsible for safe, timely completion of your relocation. Both my truckers (Hayk Transportation) and EMG were the least customer-centric businesses I have ever engaged in my 80 year lifetime!

They were months late in delivering my belongings in a coast-to-coast move, forcing me to buy replacement Winter clothing and cooking implements, and they broke or lost thousands of dollars of clothing, furniture and CDs!

They threatened not to deliver (store) my belongings if I didn’t pay for their abysmal service, and charged me @ $10,000 for their coast-to-coast service, reducing my final payment by only $300.00!

So, I would suggest not hiring a broker mover: hire a mover who is responsible for their workers. Most specifically, do not hire Eagle Moving Group. They are the personification of business irresponsibility in an industry unfortunately repleat with business irresponsibility! Be warned!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- LIED, DAMAGED OUR HOUSE AND ITEMS, DISRESPECT

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to be lied to, house damaged, yard damaged, items damage, police call you stating your stuff is in a stolen truck, Eagle yell at you (JENNIFER, JEFF, Alex - just to name a few employee who were nothing but disrespect and ungraceful) , disrespect you, and do not help in any way except screen your calls and NO insurance to cover what damage they have done or hire companies that have insurance to cover your stuff they damage.

Cliff notes on what happened-

Eagle Moving Group lied on Contract- wanting to charge an additional $4,000 48 hours before pick up after their employee lied about price, what company would be delivering the items, and size truck that would be moving us. Also the owner/manager Jeff refused to apologize or speak to us despite what happened.

Eagle Moving Group did not stand by to help in any when the the drivers of the truck hit our home with the truck not once, but TWICE causing significant structural damage to our home. Eagle Moving group did not help when their drivers drove into our yard and got stuck. No tow truck would pull them out due to insurance and we had to pay out of our pocket with no packback to get them pulled out from someone we personally knew.

Eagle Moving Group did not help or support when the Indianapolis Police called me and said they arrested the driver of our moving truck because he was in a STOLEN TRUCK and had no drivers License.

Eagle Moving Group did not help when our stuff was being held at Penske due to a bad contract with them for weeks.

Eagle Moving Group allowed the owner of Dann Moving Company to repeatedly lie and threaten us. They supported his lies in saying we signed a contract with Dann Moving during pick up. They supported Dann Moving company in wanting an additional $1,6000 at drop off after locking the door of truck and leaving with our items when Dann Moving Company called us demanding more money than agreed upon the week before. The owner George admitted to his driver he would be getting more money out of us that day.

Eagle Moving Group manager Jeff yelled, was extremely ruined and hung up on me when trying to explain what happen and the lies George the owner of Dann Moving company when Dann took our items from our home saying they were putting it in storage and would charge us monthly until we paid his new additional charges.

Eagle Moving Company never responded after 15 calls. Eagle never supported us in getting our home and yard fixed or the thousands of dollars of broken items.

Eagle Moving Company subleased our move out to a company who drivers told us the owner takes advantage of multiple of customers over and over again. Three of the drivers no longer work for this company because they didn't feel good at what the owner was doing to us and stated this wasn't the first time this has taken place. They did not feel good doing Georges dirty work. One even stated if we wanted to Sue him, he would 100% support us help provide all the information what we needed for court.

Eagle Moving Company lied and I have recorded phone conversations to prove it. Eagle Moving Company has rude employees who have no intention in helping one they recieve your deposit.

Eagle Moving Company never tried to apologize or make what happened right with us. They have still, a month later, not called back or tried to contact after multiple of calls.

What I didn’t know

When I signed on with Eagle Moving I was not told this company is a Broker. When the men showed up to move me, THEN I was told because I was surprised they came all the way to North Carolina from New Jersey and I was told I would not be dealing with Eagle Moving—but Moving Solutions. I was also told, after my stuff was loaded, that they had two - fourteen days to get my stuff to me. Well, after many phone calls, I finally got my stuff in three weeks. I will say that the men who came and packed up my stuff were very professional and efficient. I was also not happy that the company didn’t check ahead of time where they were sending their huge truck. My son and grandson had to meet the driver in a parking lot a block away from the storage unit and load all my stuff into THEIR pickup trucks and transport everything to the storage facility themselves. I was told the day before that if they had to change trucks it would cost ME even MORE money—which was already an exuberant price because my stuff wasn’t going just from NC to AR and I was having to pay all the extra milelage. I will say the driver that delivered my stuff was very nice. I just wish I’d known up front about Eagle Moving being a Broker company and who really was going to move my stuff and that they would have been honest before the fact about how long it would take to get my stuff so I could have brought different stuff in my car.

Trust the 1-star reviews if you value your time and money

Read the 1-star reviews and they all say the same thing that I went through. I moved from NH to FL. Estimate was $7000. I paid close to $15000 (yep !). Read the title on the 5* reviews - hilarious. Note there are very few 4, 3 or 2 star reviews. Classic case of Eagle stuffing reviews.

1.They bait and switch - estimate to actual is usually 2X. You wont find that out till a driver shows up and says "pay me cash or credit (5% fee) or I am leaving"

2. They sell your contract to another company and you are just a "number" not a customer

3. The Eagle sales guy said our stuff will be stored in FL but now after I reach FL I find out it is still in New Jersey

4. Their monthly storage estimate went up 2X to $1350 from an estimate of $700.

5. The monthly rate is not pro-rated. You have to pay in full for the month. They can then control the delivery date to get an extra month of storage from you

6. I told them when I need my stuff - gave a date. Now I have to wait by the phone for a driver to call me. Zero clue as to when that will happen. Customer service said "days, a couple of weeks or more"

7. I dread delivery day after reading reviews because the worst is yet to come maybe

My advice: find a local delivery guy who does the packing and the delivery. TRUST ME it will cost you the same or less. But what you will save on is that you will live longer and save time. This move is killing me.

The wonderful sales guy from Eagle who sold us this deal is Shane Fox

signed - I am with the 1-star people

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Malvern, PA

Incredibly Poor Move from CA to PA

Dear Prospective Moving Client,

Be extremely wary of any business provided by Eagle Movers. When my father passed, I engaged Eagle to move my mother from a one-bedroom apartment in California to be closer to me in Pennsylvania. The experience could not have been more difficult, painful, or stressful. In brief:

We started our search for a mover on the internet. We engaged a broker who was much less than truthful. The broker quoted an original price of ~$3400 and assured us the desired dates of pickup and delivery would be honored. After a 1/3 down payment, what followed was a classic BAIT-AND-SWITHCH. Also, we went through a telephone quality control check with another Quality Control Representative from Eagle. Ultimately, the packers arrived at my mother’s apartment with a substantial price increase to proceed with loading the truck.

I had been very explicit with the initial inventory list providing an itemized Excel spreadsheet. I listed each item, and provided length, width, and depth measurements for each item. This should have facilitated a very accurate price estimate by Eagle Moving.

Despite my precision, the moving price increased to $8900. This reflects the 263% increase. Again, I reached out to Eagle Customer Service via a very detailed email and got no response.

· Delivery in Pennsylvania was also incredibly difficult. As I mentioned, I was assured of a specific delivery date. However, Eagle ultimately delivered 5 days late. No one in the Eagle organization was forthcoming about the variability of delivery on the backend.

As I had previously mentioned, my Dad had passed and I had carefully sequenced events so that my mother could attend my father’s memorial ceremony in Wisconsin, before travelling to Pennsylvania to move into a new apartment. The untimely delivery of the belongings caused the family a great deal of additional stress at an extremely difficult time.

· Not to be outdone, the movers who delivered and unpacked in Pennsylvania were polite enough, but when the job was done – REFUSED TO REMOVE THE EMPTY BOXES, PACKING PAPER, AND OTHER SUPPLIES. Instead, the moving debris were left in the hallway outside my mother’s apartment door. This was incredibly aggravating and awkward as the 55+ community to which my mother had moved was insisting that residents could not pass through the hallway, and the amount of debris represented a fire hazard. I refused to sign off on the moving papers and the foreman finally agreed to remove the debris.

Again, completely unnecessary, ridiculously stressful, and very poor service.

In summary, Eagle Moving over-promised and under-delivered. I would never recommend this mover to another customer or family.

This company routinely lies to customers to get business. They PAY for FAKE REVIEWS!!! I discovered their lies 3 days before my move & had to cancel. There is no one of authority to speak to on their ONE phone number. Receptionists are very rude when I call. EagleMovingGroup still owe me $5160, which they will not repay. Long-distance move from Seattle, WA to Denver, CO

An absolute nightmare.

Please stay away from this company if you want your move to be a positive experience.

It's taken me a while to get over what Eagle put me through. It was truly one of the most distressing and upsetting experiences of my life (I'm almost 40).

They assigned me to a moving company in Seattle that, I truly believe, was a front for a criminal business. This company essentially stole my belongings for 3 months and threatened legal action after I called to asked about my belongings. When they finally arrived SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, I was met with a full fledged con: they demanded an extra $800 in cash as the moving truck couldn't fit on my street (this is a boldfaced lie) and needed to use a UHaul instead once they arrived in Denver. The owner of the company told me to "fuck" myself when I called and asked about the price.

I called Eagle Moving Group in tears several times. They provided me little to no information and were incredibly hard to get in touch with. They told me time and time again they couldn't help besides calling and asking the moving company about the status of my belongings. I was scared that they would ruin my belongings or not bring them at all.

When they arrived finally, most of my stuff was broken or damaged. My TV was completely shattered (despite the moving company PACKING IT THEMSELVES). Most of the boxes were in abysmal condition. They looked like they had been thrown around, stepped on, smashed, etc.

I never heard a follow up about this experience from Eagle Moving Group. No one called to check in. I received no compensation. No support. Nothing.

Please stay away from this company if you are planning on moving. I implore you to take every word of this review as fact - it is - and choose literally any other company to work with. I am honestly surprised they are still in business.

Shame on you, Eagle Moving Group. What was supposed to be a positive experience for me moving to a different state turned in to a complete disaster that I am still recovering from many months later. I am surprised the BBB hasn't been contacted yet. It's beyond my comprehension how you run your business by partnering with legitimate criminals. You are guilty by association.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life.

Long-distance move from Fremont, CA to Tucson, AZ

Delay - misinformation

TL,Dr: Made the reservation for move from Fremont, CA to Tucson, Az. They picked up late (multiple calls to get the pick-up), misinformed me while asking the first delivery date and later told me that I can get the stuff within 21 days of my first delivery date, 10 days later. Was supposed to be delivered by July 25, today is July 30 and they don't even have an ETA.

Here is the rant: I made a reservation with them to move my stuff from Fremont to Tucson. Initially while getting the details and finalizing the terms of the move everything was super smooth. Then as the pick-up window came closer (17, 18 June), things weren't great anymore. Had to call a few times to get the pickup confirmed and it was finally picked up at 6 PM on June 18 (after the scheduled time, had to change some other plans, thanks!). Then I was told that I should give the first delivery date, after 5 days as it will take 5 days for the stuff to reach Tucson, so I gave them June 25. Then TODAY (30 June: 12 days after pickup), I was told that they start scheduling the driver (for delivering my stuff) from the first date available for delivery (i.e June 25, not June 18). So my stuff is probably still in some warehouse and can take anywhere between 1 day to 2 weeks to get to me from today with a "Sorry, we don't have an ETA at the moment."Will post an update on when I get my stuff. Has been a frustrating experience, hope they can do better at clearly communicating of what to expect when finalizing the deal.

Long-distance move from North Salt Lake, UT to Fort Collins, CO

Poor communication, extra cost

Eagle is the company I contracted with. They started out great, having me go room by room to do a complete inventory (or so I thought). I was told that credit cards could be used as each stage of the move (no extra fees were mentioned). I was also told that they would be able to keep me updated with the carrier regularly. None of that happened. I was charged an extra $3000 due to more items than the inventory included, had an extra fee tacked on at pickup when I used a credit card and was told I have to pay cash or money order for drop off, and I’m yet to get even a delivery window. I was told 2-5 days for delivery: the carrier said 2-14. Counting business days, the carrier will hit 14 this coming Friday. I’m not holding my breath. Every time I have called Eagle, they tell me they will check the status and call back. I am yet to get a call back. I would NOT recommend this company at all.

Eagle moving and their affiliates are so incredibly unhelpful. Once I booked my move, there was zero explanation of the process and zero updates or transparency throughout the process. No one told me about the brokering process and no one explained that my stuff wouldn’t be delivered until 30 days after it was picked up. What’s anyone supposed to do without their stuff for a full month??? Had I known the process I could have planned around it. Now I’m in a new city without my stuff for 30 days. Predatory Practices

After receiving my deposit, the agent (Steven) working with me totally stopped taking our calls. We were quoted a price of 15K, and then after conducting a visual walkthrough via facebook, the same agent added 3k more to the price. I read 102 negative reviews before sending my deposit and was told by the agent that he would be the point of contact for any issues and that our move was not sub contracted out (it was). We were supposed to receive a call from the movers 3 days prior (did'nt happen) and a call from the QA agent (Suzy). We never got the name of sub mover and Suzy hung up after 11 seconds and we were unable to reach her agin after 7 attempts. The movers show up the day of and before they will pack anything, hit us up with an upcharge adding 15k more because they say my agent (Steven) shortage the inventory and didn't list things like the bedframe, headboard and footboard (the inventory only listed the bed). The movers stated that listing the bed only meant mattress and box spring. I called Eagle moving and my agent sent me to voicemail. The customer service rep. Said they had to wait to see how much more the cost would be and that she apologized for Steven's error but we would have to either decide what things we wanted to be shipped and leave everything else behind if we wanted to keep the same price, cancel but we would lose our 6K deposit because the movers showed up even though we were never given contact information to coordinate extra fees as promised by Eagle Moving Group, or pay 15K more to have all items packed and shipped. When we chose to pick items to shipped, we were told the large items could not be shipped under current contract because they counted square footage for boxes. Since paying extra to ship our household goods. Eagle movers have not returned a call, text or email. We were told that there was nothing they could do about the bad qoute and contract but failure to pay would result in our items not beong packed at all. I informed Eagle to include Steven, Alex, and Suzy that I would be out of state and needed this move to be smooth as possible because my wife was disabled and could not handle it going awry. A move that was quoted and contract signed for 18K, jumped to 33K and Eagle Movers waited until we were within hours of having to be moved and excercised the practice of take it or leave it. Every member of Eagle moving staff worked to ensure we would pay more than initially agreed to and then refused to take any more of our calls. The customer service rep even stated that us not having the money can't be a concern for her, we either pay, or cancel. She even lied to my daughter and stated that I threatened her after she hung up on me when confronted about the predatory practice displayed by her company. Bottom line is this is the worst company I have ever done business with. They will lie to you to get your money, perpetuate the lies to delay you while dodging your calls until it is too late to contractually cancel then upcharge. They also sub cintract companies that have just as bad of a track record in upcharging customer after they arrive at your house to pack out. I would not recommend Eagle to anyone. They in no way shape or form can handle big moves and will utilize the practice of underbiding until you are locked in. When questioned directly about some of the negative practices reveiwed online, I was told that those issues had been resolved and there would be no extra mark ups and if they didn't use all the resources we would be refunded. Buyer be ware...They are horrible and I pray I get my houehold goods delivered in a timely fashion but actually worried about that too. DO NOT USE this company and do not trust any estimates they deliver.
