Long-distance move from Alabaster, AL to Galt, CA

THERE'S A REASON FLORIDA GOVERNOR IS MAKING THEIR PRACTICES ILLEGAL!

This company is a complete SCAM! Best example of BAIT AND SWITCH I've ever seen! We called several movers to get quotes before our cross country move. I hand it to them, because they have a good name (and I believe there really is another moving company with the name Eagle), so when their quote came in very competitive, we went for it. We worked out the move date, and finished packing. As the date came closer, my husband worked with another agent for them to do a final count. The box count and things we missed the first time did increase, and the price did go up - this was not unexpected, and we went forward with our plans. This time, however, my husband was METICULOUS in his box counts and items (furniture, lawn mower, patio furniture) etc. The day before our move, another company, CROSS COUNTRY LONG DISTANCE MOVERS (reviewed separately) called to say they would be picking up our stuff, but that they were having scheduling problems and could we push it back two days. Wait... who are you??? That's the first time I realized Eagle Moving Group doesn't do any moving - they are strictly brokers. We could not put off our move - we were driving across country with our dog and had hotels carefully planned along the way to accomodate her. They said they would check with dispatch. The next day, they show up in a 24 foot box truck that was already half full. We had 2 bedrooms, LR, DR, patio furniture, W/D and over 100 boxes. Obviously, it wasn't going to fit. After they loaded as much as they could, they told us they would come back the next morning for the rest, and then hit us with our total was going to be $1700 more than the original quote! The lead guy kept saying "YOU HAVE ALOT OF STUFF MY FRIEND!". It was late Saturday, we couldnt get anyone at Eagle, and the lead guy just said "you can pay that, or we can remove some stuff from the truck, but you're over the quote on cubic feet". So, we're held hostage. We can't leave stuff. We agree to pay on Sunday when they picked up the rest, and again we had no way to call Eagle.

Fast forward 12 days later, we are waiting for our stuff to arrive. We have called Eagle and Cross Country Movers at least 12 times to discuss the price and the arrival date of our belongings. While we did speak to someone each time we called, we always got the same answers: "We will review the quote and get back to you in 2-4 days", and "We will check with the dispatcher to see where your stuff is". We NEVER received a call back from either group. While they did say, you will receive a phone call 24 hours before your delivery, a THIRD company called yesterday, and said they would be there in the next few minutes. What a joke! We scrambled to get to the bank to get them their cash, and our stuff arrived. The bill of lading didn't match what they had, and to be honest, it was hectic, and we may be missing a box or two. I don't really know.

BBB shows the consumer rating at 3.6. If you really dig into those reviews, they are ALL either 5 star (no way) or 1 star. Reading the 5 stars, they ALL have the same style of writing, and I don't believe they were written by real customers.

This company is truly one of the worst I've ever done business with! PLEASE STAY AWAY OR BE WARNED!

Long-distance move from Dalton, GA to Memphis, TN

The Most uncaring, cold, and don't care about your items.

If you want to broken items, if you like being given a quote then being charged twice that amount. If you like asking to put beds together, and move heavy things where they belong and how they are supposed to be put together, this is the company for you. They broke my steel patiot table, how do you do that, unless you threw it around? They broke my cubby hole shelf (given it wasn't sturdy) but the table wa s made of steel! They almost broke my $1,000.00 elliptical and there is a piece missing. Their manager I spoke to was uncaring, cold, and they don't care how you feel about their service, they are confident they are going to continue with no issues, and more suckers like me looking to them for help. I will post their bad review as many places as I can. the ONLY redeeming thing about their business are the men who came to move things out, and the men who came to move things in. Whomever transported my items, did it without care. You are a "NUMBER" to them and not a customer, not someone they care about, you are money and once they get that deposit that's all they care about. You will be working under "their terms" they don't up front disclose to you that you aren't securing exclusively their truck, it is shared and partitioned with cardboard along with another customers items. Don't think when it's moving day they are going with you to put your thing in the house/apartment/condo. No they will go into storage and be held there. If they have to go up a flight of stairs, or walk any further than they like, you'll get charged more for those things, that you aren't told up front either. I had no recourse, no solution but their solution because they had my items. The horrible Manager Danielle who didn't give two craps about you. She enjoys making you feel helpless. Then there is customer service Laura who is just like the manager, argumentative. You know what they told me, that the delivery truck isn't theirs, and even though you made a deal with Eagle, the trucks are separate and you have to go through their insurance for broken items. They take no responsibility for "anything". DON'T USE THEM, they are a nightmare.

Excellent service!

I needed to move to my new house in Boynton Beach, and it contacted Eagle Moving Group. The customer service was absolutely fantastic and professional, and nothing was damaged at all. I was able to get all of my things moved in my new house with very little trouble. This company provides amazing service to its customers and is a great choice for people wanting to move, especially via long distance. The workers are very professional and dedicated to their job. I would definitely choose this company again once if I were to move to another spot!

Long-distance move from Tehachapi, CA to Lakewood, OH

Move from CA to OH

Are you looking for the worst most expensive moving experience of your life, with the most deceitful and rude customer service. Well come on up folks and use Eagle Moving Group Inc. The price for my move started at $2,500 from California to Ohio. Then when quality control called it went up to $3,200. By then they have a large deposit that you cannot get back to use another moving company. Then when the movers showed up they raised the price to $4,800. Bait and switch. The movers were from Seventh Generation Moving and Storage. They are not affiliated with the Eagle Moving Group, and get this, you have to pay them cash…. Or you can put it on your credit card for an additional 5% fee…. The delivery took 6 weeks. I was told by Eagle Moving Group 9-21 days. My things arrived broken and wet. Not to mention the day laborer they hired to move my things off the truck into the house was so tired from moving everything alone that he started loosing his footing causing major damage to my walls, banister, and even broke a door knob off the door. I watched the truck driver who barely spoke English hand the guy a couple of $20’s for the unloading he did. When I contacted Eagle Moving Group they told me that there was nothing they could do because I had called after delivery. They said using day laborers is customary (even though I was told I was paying for “professional” movers). How would I have known my things were going to be broken and my house damaged before delivery? I wonder….. Buyer beware. Do not use these crooks to move your things. I cannot tell you how awful the whole experience was. They blame you, deflect, and basically already got their money and they don’t care. I imagine they get zero repeat business, and most people aren’t going to take on the financial and personal expense to sue them and they know that. Jerks!

Do not use this company

Most of these reviews are lies. They slick talk you to undercut everybody else, but hire subpar moving company who does not deliver an item unbroken, but for $1,000’s of dollars of damages, they will throw the brick and hide their hands. The moving groups they get are poorly skilled, children and as one driver stated, “don’t speak English and don’t understand”. 2 kids on the delivery that stayed on their phones, looked high, had no strength to move anything. Every piece of antique furniture was broken. I am seeking to do a class action lawsuit.

Eagle Moving Group - the most horrible moving experience imaginable

Eagle Moving Group was the most horrible choice that can be made for getting your things moved. Several weeks prior to our move from LA to TN, the Eagle Moving Group rep, Nicholas, sold me on everything under the sun at a cost of $5,400.00 with the understanding that we were to be in TN by Saturday night, 3-5-22. Promises made but not kept – 36 hours prior to the anticipated arrival, I was notified by them that the price then escalated to more than $14,000, items were to be packaged, photographed, inventoried and picked up by 3-5-22 by 8 a.m. Secured timely delivered by 3-5-22. Reassembled restaged at destination. There was no photographing, inventory, packing, or crating of items. Being completely blind, myself and my cancer-surviving wife packed and brought to the back of their truck items that their movers would not participate in. They refused to pack or safely crate any items. When Eagle Moving Group had Dann Moving show up to our home, the crew showed up already drug/alcohol impaired two days late, and was later witnessed smoking weed in the front of our home. The final arrival time initially set to be Saturday 3-5-22 turned out to be the night of Tuesday 3-8-22.

When the driver instructed the impaired crew to begin packing and bringing items to the truck as the driver would then load them, the crew advised that they would not do packing. After an hour of nothing getting accomplished, myself, being blind, and my cancer-surviving wife began packing and transporting our items to the truck. Because of the deceit of the Eagle Moving Group dispatcher, George, our frozen and refrigerated items remained in ice chests outside of refrigeration until Tuesday night, 3-8-22.

When the truck finally arrived and was opened, it was then revealed how recklessly, and nearly intentionally damaged all our belongings had been treated by them. It was like a scene from the old Sanford and Son TV show. It was at this time that the complete and utter lack of caring and talent became obvious, as 90% of all our most valuable items and furnishings were damaged, broken, or destroyed beyond the point of repair or sale, of course, excluding our items that never showed up at all. When we tried asking for financial consideration of their destruction, the Eagle Moving Group, through George, became arrogant, irate, disagreeable and vengeful, giving no consideration for the destruction and terror they caused.

I strenuously urge that no one use Eagle Moving Group or Dann Moving, as they are untruthful, unreliable, incompetent, and vengeful.

Not Transparent

Moving can be stressful especially when on a budget. Originally, when I spoke to the phone agent, everything appeared a breeze and he even stated that the rate was discounted. The rate sounded too good to be true so I even clarified with the phone agent about additional cost and provided more info on the amount of items we had. And again the phone agent stated that the total (agent did not disclose it was an estimate) was accurate. Upon the movers coming the main guy expressed that the estimate was way off and disclosed a lot of additional fees. I panicked with the new estimate of over +$2,000. However, Jose and his team were super efficient and transparent. Jose was able to set some comfort about the situation. However, even with Jose and his team being helpful, My partner and I were in disbelief and completely devastated of being hit with an additional + $1,000 (Jose was able suggest a few pointers to lower the estimate). We ended up still moving forward with the company because our lease was up. However, if seeking movers I highly suggest to seek a more personal company that can provide a more accurate estimate and will be more transparent about their services. Additional fees that were not disclosed were: tractor fees (area needs to be able to fit an 18 wheeler an additional $350 minimum), fuel surcharge ( not stated upon booking an additional $ 480), additional stairs fee ( agent did not disclose if it’s more then one flight of stairs specifically 12 steps their is an additional fee). Also, they express that delivery will take between 5-7 business days but I was just notified that it can take up to 21 business days so we’ll when I get my furniture….Other then the great service from Jose and his team, this experience has been terrible. I would highly suggest to go with a company that is more transparent and personal.

Long-distance move from West Fargo, ND to Minneapolis, MN

Short distance move from Fargo, ND to Mpls, MN

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Eagle Moving Group, that recommended Dann Moving. Eagle Moving Group gave me a date, and Dann Moving showed up 24 hours early. This of course threw off my entire "plan & schedule" for the move (final cleaning, the checkout, getting keys at the new place, simply being able to move-in to the new place). Dann Moving broke a door/put a hole in it, chipped several walls, broke a flat screen TV, and a wooden platform bed frame. Missing the checkout and not being to clean or speak directly to the "landlord," because Dann Moving showed up 24 hours early, cost me my security deposit and an additional $300. I called Eagle Moving and told them about the experience, and in turn they asked that I file a claim. This started approx. at the end of June 2022. In September of 2022, my claim came back with the final response being a compensation check for $81.00 (Yes, Eighty-One dollars). With that I will be telling this story 81 times until I feel whole again. Literally one of the worst customer experiences I have evet been a part of. I do not suggest using either of these companies if you have options. Not to mention what they charged me for a 234 mile / 3.5 hour move, on a 2-bedroom apartment. I feel completely taken advantage of, as the preliminary questions asked were probing questions to see how much I could afford. I 100% feel like I was completely ripped off.

BEWARE, Bait and switch scam with this company!!

If you see 5 stars for this company beware as they are not real! They are brokers and NOT an actual moving company. The only actual moving they do is moving money from your account. Eagle has a nice habit of not informing customers they are brokers and they subcontract out to shady movers. This company pulls the "bait-and-switch scam". (I have them reported to every agency I could and they are currently being investigated). They will ask for a deposit and when you pay they drop you to the mercy of whatever shady moving company "bids" for your contract WITHOUT you being notified. Then you get stuck with the moving companies' prices as they jack up the price once they have your furniture and you have no choice if you want your stuff back. Eagle will do NOTHING to help you and tell you your "contract" is no longer with them but with the moving company so you're basically screwed. Please save yourself the hassle of being extorted for money and your belongings held hostage. If they ask you for a deposit hang up and report them to the FMCSA for deceptive business practices. Do not give them money. Eagle quoted me at 3531.01 which I gave them 1585.00. When the moving company had my furniture they currently want almost 11,000.00! I am currently fighting this. Please do not go through what I am dealing with now. I do not want people to be scammed like I was. Hire legitimate reputable movers. I wasn't given a choice and the movers are currently holding my furniture hostage thanks to Eagle. What Eagle quotes you is NOT TRUE. If you get a call from this company please hang up!!

This hit was our miss

It's important to understand Eagle Moving isn't the actual company that will come to your home--they FIND a mover to do it.In our case, the movers were from a couple of hours away, even though there are plenty of companies closer to us.

The first thing that happened is the folks they've our job: Glass City Movers, loaded our home contents and said they'd see us at the new house and then they didn't show up. We called--no answer. We called the highway patrol to see if they were in an accident. No record of one. Then we slept the night on the floor wondering if we’d see our home contents. They came the next day saying they’d gone home for the night but didn’t bother to let us know. The list is long to note damages -- which we can't seem to claim because they provide no means to make claims. (The broken dishware, because they didn’t individually wrap items, is a small example of what we’d claim if we could.) We couldn’t find info about making a claim on their website and when we emailed them to ask how to do it they simply replied, “There’s a form on our site.”

Eagle Moving Group needs to be selective in who they send AND they need to look at your location. But frankly, I'd just book a mover with good reviews myself!

Worst moving company EVER

I called to get an estimate of my long distance move from Georgia to Colorado and was quoted one price. I explained to the agent that I needed to make sure of the cost as I was comparing prices. He took an inventory and I made sure to stay within the estimate. Paid my deposit on time and the movers did not come nor call. I reached out to them and the driver explained that he was tired from a move the day before. When they finally arrived the next day they ended up charging me an additional 1500 dollars in which I had to pay cash or Venmo to someone’s account. (Terrible) I have been In Colorado for over a month and still don’t have my things that was supposed to be a 7-21 day delivery. I keep calling only to get I’m sorry but we don’t have an update. The customer service is at its worst and I have never felt so helpless. I just want my things that I feel are gone forever. Please do not use this company. It is the worst. I would not give this company any stars.

Deceptive from day one!

They quote you a good price, hurry you through paperwork and make sure you deposit 1/2 at the time they have you on the phone, not mentioning this is (non-refundable). We squared up everything and gave measurements to them, they assured us "not a problem". Brokered to another company, and when they got there they said it would be $588. more (with a $200. discount) because it was more than the company had given us a quote on! When I went back to original e-mails to download, they were no longer available to view! They know you are at their mercy and do not explain time lines, etc. at the beginning of transaction, knowing they would not get the business....terrible!

Classic bait-and- switch

On 10/5/21 I was originally quoted $4000 by Shane Fox from Eagles Moving Company. He asked me over the phone for a list of items to be moved and sent me a written estimate, which served as a contract for the move. On 10/12/21, I spoke to Suzy Anderson to add three items and to request two packing boxes for two televisions. This estimate increased to $4733.72. On 10/13/21 the driver arrived and stated that items did not fit in his truck; they needed more cubic feet to accommodate the furniture. After I attempted to explain that there was already a contract in place for the items listed, the driver became belligerent. Due to his behavior he was asked to leave the residence. On 10/14/21 I spoke to customer support dispatch supervisor Daniel Hemings who explained that the estimate was revised to $6232.47 due to increase in cubic feet. She also explained that if I were to cancel the contract I would lose my security deposit. The contact states a customer has 72 hours to cancel the contact. I signed a contract on October 5th and the first delivery attempt occurred on October 10/13/2021 way after their 72 hours cancellation policy. I was tied into this contract and had no choice but to pay for the increase in the estimate or lose my $2205.04. This practice seems to be unethical. You are locked into a higher estimate or lose a deposit. They quoted me a low-ball price estimate in order to get my business, but the actual cost will end up being much higher. They stated that they are not able to provide an in-person estimate due to COVID. Yet their drivers do not wear masks. The pickup was completed on 10/15/21 with the same driver who was belligerent during the first pick up attempt. The Dispatch supervisor Daniel Hemings stated that they had no one else in the area that could do the delivery. On 10/15/2021 I attempted to speak to the driver to provide delivery. The driver became belligerent over the phone and did not allow me to speak. After the furniture was packed and ready to go. This driver had the audacity to ask for a cash tip and said If an address was not provided prior the delivery the items would be left in the middle of the road and I would be fined. This entire experience has been a nightmare.

What I didn’t know

When I signed on with Eagle Moving I was not told this company is a Broker. When the men showed up to move me, THEN I was told because I was surprised they came all the way to North Carolina from New Jersey and I was told I would not be dealing with Eagle Moving—but Moving Solutions. I was also told, after my stuff was loaded, that they had two - fourteen days to get my stuff to me. Well, after many phone calls, I finally got my stuff in three weeks. I will say that the men who came and packed up my stuff were very professional and efficient. I was also not happy that the company didn’t check ahead of time where they were sending their huge truck. My son and grandson had to meet the driver in a parking lot a block away from the storage unit and load all my stuff into THEIR pickup trucks and transport everything to the storage facility themselves. I was told the day before that if they had to change trucks it would cost ME even MORE money—which was already an exuberant price because my stuff wasn’t going just from NC to AR and I was having to pay all the extra milelage. I will say the driver that delivered my stuff was very nice. I just wish I’d known up front about Eagle Moving being a Broker company and who really was going to move my stuff and that they would have been honest before the fact about how long it would take to get my stuff so I could have brought different stuff in my car.

Irresponsible to Customers

Eagle Moving Group (EMG) is a relocation broker; that is, they hire truckers to make your move, i.e., those truckers are responsible for safe, timely completion of your relocation. Both my truckers (Hayk Transportation) and EMG were the least customer-centric businesses I have ever engaged in my 80 year lifetime!

They were months late in delivering my belongings in a coast-to-coast move, forcing me to buy replacement Winter clothing and cooking implements, and they broke or lost thousands of dollars of clothing, furniture and CDs!

They threatened not to deliver (store) my belongings if I didn’t pay for their abysmal service, and charged me @ $10,000 for their coast-to-coast service, reducing my final payment by only $300.00!

So, I would suggest not hiring a broker mover: hire a mover who is responsible for their workers. Most specifically, do not hire Eagle Moving Group. They are the personification of business irresponsibility in an industry unfortunately repleat with business irresponsibility! Be warned!

Very Dishonest

Very dishonest they pose as the company that moves you , they even give you a fictitious quote. They say they take credit cards and are open 24/7 false . This is a moving brokerage company . Yes their fee which I paid 2600 was a credit card but the actual movers they find only take cash. I had to pay $12000 in cash. I could not change because I had a last minute move. Three of the movers didn’t even show up at the scheduled time. Craig who is management failed to call me back. Todd who is in management fail. Run from this company and stick to a reputable moving company. Yes they got over on me and pray it doesn’t happen to anyone else... If you don’t believe me just call them after hours or on a Saturday. You will see the first lie and it just continues with false advertising. Be aware though their customer service reps are friendly and professional just enough for you to believe their dishonest business practices... By the way I move a two bedroom apartment yes cost me a total of $14000.

Those people made me pay cash under the table or they wouldn’t take all my stuff even though the price had been set already. CON. In the end, they made me take stuff off the truck and leave it behind. Then they took my stuff to a warehouse and left it there. Weeks later and it’s STILL there while my kids and I sit in an empty house 2400 miles away. I can’t work because they have my entire business. They have lie after lie they tell and act ignorant to actually doing anything about it. SCAMMERS. Now after what I’ve read, I expect a lot of broken and damaged things. Eagle moving and Respect LLC movers, you are horrid and should not be in business.

Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Boise, ID

Horrible experience

Absolutely horrible interstate moving experience with this company. They are a broker, and broker their moves to carriers/movers. They lowballed the estimate, and the actual cost when the carrier/mover to go our place was 67% higher than their estimate to us. We had to leave almost half of our belongings to come close to the amount we budgeted. If we would have refused the carrier/mover, we would have lost over $1K in our deposit with Eagle Moving Group. Absolute bait and switch -- fraud. Also, they asked us for a 2 day window for delivery, of which we provided. We heard NOTHING from Eagle, or the carrier for almost a month regarding our belongings AFTER they picked them up. Our belongings were delivered 16 days late, and we had zero explanation, responsibility or conversation about it from Eagle, despite our numerous calls to them. They provided no answers. While we know they are a broker, they are still ultimately responsible for the actions, or inactions, or their carrier/mover they broker. Additionally, they brokered to US Best Movers, who then brokered to two different other carriers to actually pick up and deliver our goods. This is illegal, per the FMCSA -- a carrier/mover is prohibited from brokering to a fellow carrier/mover. Eagle is responsible for these acts. We finally have our belongings, however, they are damaged. Yet, we have not heard anything from Eagle. HORRIBLE communication, or lack thereof. If you value your time, money and belongings, do not use this company.

Horrible experience with my long distance move

False promises, double the price of your initial quote while picking up stuffs, first of all they are brokers and not movers, they sales agent says yes to everything you ask until the first 1/3rd payment is done. After which you cant the sales person is not in the picture, you are allowed to talk to the customer service only. If you change one item also the prices are sky rocketing, sales person initially promises saying the fragile items(items included in the inventory) will be packed by the movers itself, but the truth is they charge you hundred's and hundreds when they actually do it while picking the stuff(i had packed all my fragile items, using bubble wrap, TVs into Homedepot's TV boxes) on top of it they charged me almost 400$. They say that they will call you for a quality control call to go over the final count of boxes 24hrs before pickup, for me they did on Monday for a Thursday pickup, when i tried adding some boxes the customer service simply added 200$ (my items were just 16 cu.ft at 4$ per cu.ft), these are all just sample, the main picture was, they called me the day before the move and gave an estimated window of 8-12pm for a thursday, until 9.30 am nothing happened, i get a call and they say that the truck is broken down and they dont know when they can make it, it can be next day or the following day.

they call at 3pm thursday and say that they are coming in an hour, another company shows up, looks at the items and adds 1000$ more to the price, they handle the items so rough and when enquired about insurance they deny saying you should have taken the insurance 72 hours before, which was never mentioned in the contract. I believe they broke my treadmill and massage chair. they load the items into 2 separate trucks on June 3rd thursday from Chicago and the first date available for delivery was 11th June at florida.

The climax is i am writing this today June 20th and my stuff hasnt arrived yet. The customer service doesnt respond to my emails. When called the person simply says i am not able to connect with the chicago movers, once i connect will let you know the update. Nothing after that. When followed up again, i demanded for the Chicago movers numbers and they are like well our delivery date is all estimated ones and we dont have a schedule yet for you, the first time when i call they said my items are in Dallas TX, i was shocked, the next time when i called they say that your items are still in Chicago waiting on a schedule.

This company is full of false promises, DONT EVER THINK OF A MOVE THRU EAGLE MOVES!!!

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to South Carolina

Horrible experience

DO NOT hire this broker!! They contracted with a crooked moving company, Moving Solutions Van Lines AKA Cross Country Movers, out of Clifton NJ. We had to put down an 1800 deposit before the movers showed up. Eagle did not ask for measurements for our belongings and generalized the inventory. This is part of the CON! The contracted moving company then charged us extra (as they stated they were given a certain amount of area by Eagle), didn’t take all of our belongings (they stated they ran out of room on the truck) and after 34 calendar days, still have not delivered our belongings. After speaking with Danielle, who is apparently a manager, she told me there was nothing they could do about the late delivery or over charging. I asked her where my belongings were, she said in Clifton NJ. We moved from PA to SC on 5/29/21, our things have been sitting in a warehouse for all of this time. Danielle was rude, condescending and not helpful at all! Continuing to state that everyone is receiving their items late and told me a story about her ordering a couch that wasn’t delivered! These people are only there to collect their portion of the extortion and run for the hills! Stay far, far away from these people!! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and FMCSA and am in the process of hiring an attorney. There has been zero compensation offered for the horrible experience and when I called 4 times over a weekend, as our stuff was supposed to be delivered, Danielle confirmed they got the messages but their policy is not to return calls if there is no updated information from the carrier. BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not listen to any of the positive reviews as people are paid to give them and there are many people getting screwed over right now!
