Long-distance move from Adams Basin, NY to West Jordan, UT

The whole experience was so pleasant.

This was one of the easiest moves I’ve had. They helped me shift a collection of books and decor to a new spot, and they did it right. They showed up on time and packed the items so they wouldn’t bend or break. Loading was done in one trip, and the truck looked ready for the job. At the new place, they unloaded quickly and didn’t leave trash behind. It was a simple process.

Long-distance move from Asbury Park, NJ to East Greenwich, RI

These guys showed up on time.

The move to the new apartment went a lot better than the last time I did this. I had a ton of winter gear and those big plastic storage bins that are always a pain to stack. These guys showed up on time and just got to work, getting the whole load down the stairs without hitting the walls. I stayed out of the way and let them handle the heavy lifting. By the afternoon, my bed was in the new room, and I didn't have to spend the whole night moving boxes from the curb.

Peaceful Service!

I didn’t know what to expect since this was my first time hiring movers. The process felt straightforward. They walked through the place with me and listened. I pointed out pieces that mattered to me, and they paid attention. The truck was packed carefully, and unloading followed the same pace. I checked my furniture later and felt comfortable with how it was handled.

Long-distance move from Adams Basin, NY to Camden Wyoming, DE

Friendly and helpful guys!

We are very happy with the service we received. My move between apartments was smooth and stress-free thanks to them. They arrived on time, handled all the heavy lifting with care, and kept working efficiently until the whole move was done. The move was finished earlier than expected, which was a huge relief. I would absolutely use Dumbo Moving and Storage again.

Long-distance move from Coopers Mills, ME to Fort Lauderdale, FL

Broken agreements

When I went to get my phone charger from the nightstand after the relocation, it was gone. When I called the company, they told me that their movers don't steal. Yes, all right. It's funny that the charger was there when they arrived and disappeared when they departed. The idea is what matters to me, not the charger. What else are they stealing if they're willing to take something so trivial?

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Avoid for long distance moves.

I moved from NY to TX and purchased over $300 of my own heavy duty moving blankets because my things were going to be in storage for some time. The saleperson and I discussed this point for a very long time because my furniture is not IKEA, it's good quality I received as wedding gifts the year before. I told everyone that went to pick up the furniture and let the warehouse know in Texas as well. This is all documented. When everything was delivered none of the furniture had blankets and pretty much everything was scratched. I am BEYOND disappointed.  Terrible service and now nobody is available to respond!!

Damaged furniture by dumbo moving.

This company is exactly the opposite of what it claims. they are highly UNPROFESSIONAL group who claim that they will send "the best people we have " to do the move ! In fact, the reality was opposite when they moved my home. they broke my furniture and initially agreed to send me a compensation cheque. I had taken full insurance and they will not clearly provide me with the insurance details. they put a "stop payment" on the cheque they sent out to me causing my bank to charge me a $15 fee for the cheque. the people that are responsible to deal with the payments specifically the manager, Anthony is very rude and he has hung up the phone when I asked him about the damages. he bluntly told me " we cancelled the cheque as we determined we did not break your furniture". When I asked him, do you see the pictures I took with your men standing beside the damaged furniture he hung up. I have lost $ 3000 due to this move and I am filing back a complaint with the credit card, FMCSA and also will file a court case against these self claimed  "highly professional  company" !

Ruined My Posessions.

DO NOT hire these guys! I never write reviews, but this was such a horrible experience that I feel compelled to.

I moved from Portland, Oregon to NYC, and they ruined thousands of dollars worth of furniture from West Elm along with my road bike and clothing. The service rep handling my move was unavailable via phone and email on the day of my move, and the mover who picked up my stuff gave me only an hour's notice prior to showing up with the truck; when I say that, I mean that he literally didn't tell me the date of the move until 1 hour before.

I cannot tell you how upsetting it was to move cross country only to have my possessions ruined. I tried to file a claim, and after wasting even more of my time – sending photos, detailing damages, corresponding via email – they told me that I didn't purchase "additional insurance" and would only cover $0.60/lb for a total of 270 lbs. I was stunned, because at no point did their sales rep multiple tiers of insurance.

Frankly, this company is horrible. The guys running it do not care about their customers, and they in no way will do anything to help you when something goes wrong. Seriously, DO NOT hire these guys. This was an absolute nightmare.

Long-distance move from New York to Virginia

The most unprofessional customer service.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will not wish this experience on my worst enemy. Everything started well. The movers showed up on time and took 15 boxes from my apartment including other items. My partner and I saw them label 15 boxes as they were taking the boxes downstairs. I even signed a contract showing exactly 15 boxes were taken from my apartment. Upon delivery, I only received 14 back. I sent an email to their claims manager. Not only was he curt, he actually refused to acknowledge that the contract stated 15 boxes. He said the movers made a mistake to write 15 boxes there, when they only took 14 boxes to the camera of the truck and blamed me for the inconsistency and their mover’s mistake. They then asked me to make a police report to claim what is lost. Please avoid. The disrespect is not worth it.
To make a long story short – here is part of the conversation for you. You have been warned.

Thanks for the follow-up. Unfortunately I cannot ascertain the claim value of the books -- seeing as there were more than 40 books and I can't remember the title of each book. These were books that I purchased during my Master's studies, so the price could not be ascertained. However, I did spend more than a few thousand dollars on books for Masters studies.

The guys who moved my items said I would get 14 boxes back when I gave them gratuity. I told him it was 15 and not 14. He acknowledged, then I signed.

The box was properly labeled books. I had packed 15 boxes in total. 14 boxes were delivered.

I also said this to the delivery guys when I gave them gratuity. There was one more box in the truck when they came. They said it wasn't mine, so I didn't press forward. So it is possible that the initial movers communicated 14 boxes like he said instead of 15.

Look at the attached sheet. Your movers wrote 15 boxes because they took 15 boxes. I didn't write that. So if your movers lost my box and only took 14 to the camera, you can't tell me that I only gave 14 boxes. Your movers wrote 15 boxes for a reason. The contract states I gave 15 boxes. This is the most unprofessional service in the history of customer's service. I understand you don't have the box anymore-- but to play with me like this is not acceptable.

that was a mistake, I only work on facts here, and the facts are only 14 boxes were picked up.

Well your facts are not correct and obviously you do not work with facts. I packed 15 boxes and saw them label 15 boxes. What the movers took the camera is not fact. You should know this as a claims manager -- and besides cameras can be manipulated. So cameras are not fact. It was not a mistake that they wrote 15 boxes because there were 15 boxes that were taken. They took 15 boxes and therefore they wrote 15 boxes. That is fact. No more no less.
As a claim manager, you should investigate further and not play with me like this. This is not acceptable and ridiculous.

No Good incompetent.

Hired them for a commercial job for moving out 2 heavy 55o pound doctor's chairs. The person booking it schedule it at first as it was a residential job, who thinks that people in their living room has 2 550 pound doctor's chairs must be smoking! First mistake, second sending only 2 guys instead of 4, who have to lift these chairs 4 steps down..so again: not listening to the client, third problem: bringing a van with a non-working lift gate. The guys where very helpful after convincing them not to cancel a move out job!! So, because we where moving on same street, but 4 avenues uphill!! we convinced the guys to roll the 2 chairs over the sidewalk to the new destination..still we never got a Truck although we paid for 3 hours , van and 3 movers, and if it was not of our persistence they would have cancelled the move out job..can you imagine! Never use them again, overpriced and incompetent.
