Long-distance move from Sun Valley, ID to Glover, VT

Happy Customer

Direct Relocation Services LLC provided a wonderful experience for me. The movers were polite, hardworking, and well-organized. They took the time to adequately protect my furniture and other sensitive objects. The entire move was accomplished faster than anticipated. Their prices were reasonable, with no hidden fees. I would absolutely use their services again.

Long-distance move from Jasper, GA to Rotonda West, FL

Do not use them.

I moved from GA to FL. These movers ruined lamps, a ceramic column, dishes, and crushed the top of a wooden armoire, not to mention they left my iron bed in pieces because they lost the bolts and bent the rails. I will receive $240 for my $3000 armoire. My brother and I had to make multiple trips to the hardware store to find the bolts for the bed. He had to carefully bend the iron rails back to the canopy in order to put the canopy up. All I got from Direct Relocation Services is that they could not find anyone to repair the bed. As for the armoire, I was told to file a moving claim for $.60 a pound. Keep this in mind before hiring them.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Great, Honest Moving Company.

I had to move about 600 cubic feet of stuff from my old apartment in Chicago to my new apartment in Ft. Lauderdale.

The movers were fantastic and careful when they removed my stuff from my old apartment.

My 65" TV shattered on the way to Florida even with significant wrapping and padding. I found out shortly after delivery but I didn't take any immediate action when I should have. I contacted Richard and he got in contact with Maria and Andrew.

They reimbursed me 100% for the TV. I am so appreciative and grateful for their honesty and ethical reaction. They took full responsibility and reimbursed me more than the standard 60%. They wrote me a check after I gave them make and model via an Amazon link.

They were also super kind and flexible at their office. I would totally go with them again. Thank you to Richard Lindo, Andrew Duffek, Andy Peters, Anthony, Maria and Laurie from both Direct Relocation Services and Pinnacle Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Very Pleased.

Mike, Armani and Howard arrived on time with a strong work ethic, were courteous of my home, privacy and personal items. They worked quickly, did the job under 2.5 hours. They were efficient and worked great together in the Florida heat! From start to finish it was a pleasure hiring this moving company. I did my research, contacting many companies for weeks. Happy I choose them. Would use them again given the opportunity.

Do Not Use This Mover Before You Read This Review.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVER UNLESS YOU TOTALLY HATE EVERYTHING VALUABLE THAT YOU OWN!!

In June, we engaged Direct Relocation Services to move our valuable household goods from California to Florida. The following reasonably describes that very bad experience:

Upon arrival, we opened the boxes as fast as we could. Serious problems were immediately apparent. In fact, initially estimated that nearly $20K in china, works of art, valuable household goods and memorabilia were either completely destroyed through careless packing and transport or were simply stolen. In fact, we specifically identified a $6,000 cut glass sculpture to those doing the packing. We saw them wrap it in multiple blankets and pack it in a large wardrobe box. It NEVER ARRIVED! Nor, did at least 10 boxes of other valuables that were not random. They coincidentaly contained elegant gowns, small appliances and irreplaceable memorabilia. Now that we have unpacked tree Christmas decorations, even more high-quality stuff is missing.

When goods arrive at your destination, they quickly offload it without verifying each box number. In addition, the driver must be paid in cash or by postal money order upon arrival. So, there is no way to hold payment until a dispute is settled.

Let’s be real, if these got mixed up with a shipment to a different customer, wouldn’t any decent person report the error? Furthermore, given that each box was numbered and inventoried, how did the big Russian guy, who couldn’t leave with our cash payment fast enough, check everything off as delivered?

Our two brand new $3,500 each electric bikes arrived in a condition that took us an hour each to return to usability. They were obviously ridden by someone who knew nothing about the gears and wrapped the chain tightly around the axle.

These guys are animals. In fact, it seems like they target certain stuff that either gets broken or disappears out of jealousy.

Lastly, they were intentionally careless. We pre-packed over 50 boxes of our belongings in heavy duty clear plastic containers. The most breakable (computers, china, etc.) had bright yellow 8.5 x 11 labels with red text that said “Fragile. Do not stack boxes on top”. All arrived at the bottom of the stacks with as many as nine levels of boxes on top. The resulting damage was heartbreaking. Furthermore, we have only gotten lip services about these issues from Direct Relocation Services since. I could go on, but, it makes us sick to think about and the point should clearly justify the warning in the title of this posting.

We believe that this is a case of grand theft on an epic scale. As for Insurance, how can you get a fair settlement unless you have a receipt for every single thing?

When we told them that we were going to post this, their response was “do what you godda do”.

Moving out of state.

The gentleman I spoke to Jorde was very helpful in my process to move we both kept in contact reguarding prices box count and any other items the dispatcher that provided the truck called in advance and also 2 hrs before the movers showed up they were very professional in the job and yes the price had to be readjusted a little but overall I was extremely happy also my neighbor inquired about them so I called Jorde and they are making future arrangements I highly recommend there services.

Long-distance move from San Jacinto, CA to Lyman, SC

Horribly Disastrous Move from CA to SC.

I made mistake in choosing Direct Relocation Services LLC. There are some reasons why I stated it. First, salesperson (R*) convinced me that their moving service is not a broker but they own a truck - it's true they own a truck but they're small company and do a brokering to other moving trucks. Second, (R*) made me believed that I will pay more with Allied Van lines than availing their service - wrong I paid more than originally quoted. They're not giving you the right quote to get your business with them. I did sold huge items like 86 inch tv, washer dryer, fridge and patio set. I still paid 20 or 30% more. Also do not believe that space is better than weight - big mistake! Go for reputable moving companies than using their unreliable and poor service. Thirdly, Direct Relocation service is a liar and not upfront with you. (R*) will tell you that I interstate moving isn't takes longer up to 21 days. Heck - I'll never sign up if you'll delivering my furnitures within 21 days range. I rather go to reputable moving companies who will deliver my furnitures after few days. This people picked up my furnitures Saturday at about 1:30ish pm with the huge huge truck. I assume that this truck will start driving and picking up other locations to filled up their truck. But it never happens rather they placed my furnitures to the storage in CA. Heck why you do that? Hack again why you not tell me upfront that you'll placing my furnitures in CA storage - I never ever hired you because the risk of being too late to received my furniture and big chances of losing stuff and breaking it. Heck heck heck why you do that without my knowledge. After a week - I tried to update because no update me. I'm furious that my furniture never leave CA while I'm already in SC. Heck horrible communication to your customer. I paid 11k for a bad services - too long to received the furnitures, when they delivered the furnitures they never work with the customer - I just started my job and want me to missed my job because they'll going to deliver my furniture - the driver (A*) threathen me that they placing in the storage and I paid additional. I said heck no. I said out of anger - I use you once I lost my job! I told them that me and my spouse just started a job. They need to work around with it schedule but never do that. Horribly Disastrous and costly move with Direct Relocation Service. In short I have to missed 1 day of work. I lost income because of the delivery scheduled. Unfair treatment to me - if the driver came and Im not around they'll charge me extra for waiting. Then I ask the exact delivery time - they said the time and asked how about if you're late - are you going to deduct from the balance. The manager replied no. I said what the heck. It's unfair. Bad business - not owning responsibilities. Lastly, poor services and poor assembly - poor service because the dispatcher (M*) never update me rather I have to call multiple times and never call me back. I asked her to call me when they start driving my furnitures but never called me at all. I made complaint to the manager (A*) he told me that her dispatcher didn't do wrong. Heck you're wrong. You have a poor customer service and poor leadership. Do not trust this people because I found myself that they overcharged me by $14 and the quote didn't add additional service fee when gave me quote to look like that they have a competitive price - wrong. You'll pay more and much more. Do not fall from they re sales tactics. Believe me, God is my witness this people will broke you financially. Surcharges will eat you up even they give you discount. They'll get you by cu ft cost. They charged me $6 per cu ft. From the first quote They re not honest how much they charge you with cu ft space. This is a worst idea to choose space than weight. Your stuff is not much heavy. They'll get you with the use of space per cu ft and $$ amount. When you want to know - ask how much they'll charge you per cu ft. You'll be surprise you'll pay much more. Poor assembly because 2 beds of mine - improperly assembled by they're people. I have 2 screws didn't placed back and other bed is totally fell off. I'm still waiting for the response how do they handle this problem. I'm pessimistic that they'll going to help me fixed my bed. I will make a complaint. Also I will file a dispute because I have furniture were mishandled, scratches, broken stuff. Poor delivery and poor unloading. As you read between the lines of my paragraph. I urge you not to use this service at all. Bad at all cost. No positive to say but all negative. Trust me you'll regret from the moment you hired the Direct Relocation Services. Good luck to your move.

Long-distance move from Milwaukee, WI to Stamford, CT

Beware.

I booked them thinking they were a nice small moving company - no - they are brokers! They simply give your move to another company - so that could be good or bad depending on the company. They never tell you this. They raised our price significantly (40% over initial estimate) and that is after we removed a huge amount of furniture from our list. Then I found out that they don't take credit cards for the actual move. They say that no company does - this is total bs - most companies do. They don't because the actual move isn't done by them - they just get the downpayment money. I cancelled with them 2 days before our move (they were happy to be rid of me because I used the word "lawyer" - they only want people who agree to be scammed.

They told me that if I am not happy now I will not be happy with price on day of move - which makes me think they were planning on putting the price even higher). Take my advice, go with a major moving company that uses weight - not space. Stay away from brokers. They seem nice on the phone but are total scammers (yes, Nicole..I am talking about you - you were so nice and sweet on the phone - sweet on scamming my money I guess.).

Long-distance move from Cocoa, FL to Omaha, NE

FL to NE.

I cancelled a different company to go with these guys because they said they could do the move in a couple days. My family and I slept on Air Mattresses for 5 weeks! The reason they gave: they didn't have any other moves going in my direction yet. I don't want to make this long rant - I just want to say that if you're a fellow veteran - Please stay away from these people - they are horrible.

Long-distance move from California to Alabama

Never showed up - still trying to get our deposit back

We contracted them to move furniture from my mother in law’s in CA to our home in AL. We communicated constantly with Richard and Jordy via phone and text in the lead up to the move. They apparently have another guy, Andrew, who leads the move. He didn’t let us know until the DAY OF THE MOVE that they could not do it - THEY DIDN’T SHOW UP and KEPT OUR DEPOSIT, leaving us completely hung out to dry on a cross country move, with nowhere to put our belongings (the house was sold and we had to clear it out). Andrew said he called my mother in law to tell her in advance, and her voice mail was full. It wasn’t. He never tried to text or email, and didn’t call us either (he had our number - we had the contract and we’re paying them) until the day of the move when they didn’t show up. They charged us almost $2k in deposit in advance. When they didn’t show up, had to ask for a refund. They then sent an email the refund had been processed. It doesn’t seem to have been. When we got no refund 2 weeks later, they gave us a story that it takes 30 days for them to process a refund. Once we hit the 30 day window, if we don’t get our refund, we will be filing a fraud claim with our credit card, reaching out to the BBB and business licensing officials in their home town and state. We are not only out the almost $2k in deposit, but now additional moving and storage costs to get the stuff somewhere until we can get it moved out here. I would not personally risk using these guys, given our experience.
