I read the reviews and thought I had picked a good company. What a disaster! Andrew lied to me about them employing their own men and trucks. I was supposed to get my stuff on Tuesday. Got it Sunday. I had a check ready. Would only take cash or mail order. Told me to leave the mail order blank. ?? Broke a chair, damaged a bed, ripped mattress covers, reclining chair won't close, didn't put bed or dresser together. Continually jacked up the bill. Deliverers asked for "a couple of hundred extra." Knocked down and drove over my UPS box when they left. Left cardboard and bunches of tape all over my driveway. And to make matters worse, there was bird [EDIT] all over my boxes. I'd been better off going with Bekins. He came to the house and did an estimate. Bekin's estimate was more at the beginning, but I paid more than that to this company at the end. I regret ever using them.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5410

I’ll try to keep this as short & sweet as possible.
1. Quoted $3500 for our move. When movers arrived to take our things, they said to take it all would cost more like $7500-$10,000. *note a sofa was left off and that was my fault. Expected it to be more than quoted, but over 100% more?!
2. Was told when movers took our things we could pay with a check. They refused my check & wanted an instant transfer. They then decided I could pay in full when they dropped it all off. They also, cashed the check.
3. Told us our things would be arriving 3/27 so my husband drove down (18hrs straight) to be there to accept. Our delivery actually arrived about a week & a half later.
4. They’ll tell you you’ll get regular updates. You’ll get none.
5. Called for an update and got the run around & sent to everyone’s vmail. Was told a manager would call me back by end of day. Called, at end of day after not hearing from manager & was told they’d left for the day. Finally spoke to the owner, who offered us a small discount. Damage had already been done.
6. Was finally given a delivery time on a Thursday between 4-6PM. At 7PM I was told delivery would be next day at 8AM. At 1:30PM the next day, our delivery arrived.
7. Movers only ended up taking 1/2 our things because they tried charging so much more than quoted. Rather than take the things on the list, they picked & chose on their own. They also helped up our box count by boxing couch cushions, lamp shades, etc. Things that should have been considered as “sofa” & “lamp” from our list..
8. One of the delivery men used our bathroom & quite literally pissed, all over the toilet.
9. While unpacking one of the boxes the movers took amongst themselves to pack, we found one of our couch cushions, & the old, hairy, smelly dog bed we had planned on throwing away & not brining on our cross country move, on top of it.

Again, owner gave us a small discount for our trouble. Which after moving only have of our things & doing that poorly, really didn’t amount to much. I’d heard horror stories about movers but this took the freaking cake. Don’t do it.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3500

We received moving estimates from (3) nationwide carriers based on a detailed inventory of our belongings and 1000 cubic feet. All our estimates came in under $6,000.00. We chose Direct Relocation Services as our sales consultant seemed to have provided the best customer service and guaranteed “White Glove Service” door to door.

On the day of the move, the movers showed up three hours late in an unmarked moving truck. The crew consisted of five men, all Russian, the supervisor was the only one who spoke English. Upon arrival, the supervisor did a quick inventory of our home and stated that he did not think all our belongings would fit into his 1250 cubic feet truck. I told him that was impossible as we had just moved in January at 1000 cubic feet.

About an hour in the supervisor stated that the original estimate from the sales consultant was inaccurate and was now anticipated to be 1650 cubic feet and the new charges would be $10,862.00. As mentioned earlier, the supervisor stated he only had 1250 cubic feet..and we were now being charged double the price. Completely alarmed at this cost we immediately got on the phone with a manager and he assured us that it would be resolved and to proceed with the move.

Upon completion, the supervisor stated that his laptop was broken and was unable to give us an accurate estimate of cubic feet until they got to their storage center in Chicago. The next day we followed up to confirm the cubic feet. The manager insisted it was 1650 cubic feet and would not negotiate the higher cost. With our items being held in Chicago we were being extorted. We had no choice but to agree to their terms in fear that they would sell our valuables, damage them, and/or perhaps we would never see them again.

After a week of not hearing from them, the President of our employer had to work directly with the manager. He demanded the President of the company pay the balance in full via ACH prior to delivery (very sketchy and terrifying). However, he complied and was told that upon the completion of the transferred money it could take up to 72 hours for them to schedule the delivery.

Two weeks later the movers arrived at our home with a smaller truck than what they had packed from our home! Again, how is it possible that we went from 1000 cubic feet to 1650 cubic feet in a smaller truck?

The delivery crew were two Russians and again only one could speak English. Upon entry, they demanded $150.00 in cash for moving items to our second floor. Total craziness as we clearly had made the sales consultant aware that we were moving into a two-story home. We complied and had to run to an ATM as at this point we were in no position to negotiate. Four hours later they left with only assembling our sofa and left all the cardboard boxes in our front lawn. Complete nightmare and horrific experience. Clearly, we did not receive “White Glove Service” and were extorted $5,012.50. Complete breach of contract.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $11012

This company is a joke. They also overcharge and charge you for items that are not in your inventory. I supplied The covers for two mattress sets, but was charged $40 for these as if they used their own. The crew they hired to pick my things up were not careful at all, with my things, many items were damaged when they arrived. The man in charge of the pickup kept pushing papers at me, with no possible time to read any of it. He was how tired I was, took advantage of this to get my signature on it. I am an older woman who had to pack up 54 years of items, and memories, by myself and by this time I was close to collapse. This is no excuse for my not reviewing things, but he didn't give me time. It took about two weeks for my things to arrive, I understand why it took so long. The driver that delivered my things was the best part of the whole thing, very pleasant and respectful, not like the other crew. Previously K had contacted the Florida office and told them about the charges for the covers and I had the UHaul receipt for it, she said to show the driver it. When I showed it to him he gave me the $40 back. There is so much more to this experience I could write about but there wouldn't be enough space. Stay away from this ripoff company.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7860

Lost leaf to dining room table in my move, broke TV(incorrectly boxed - did not remove base and cushion the corners so screen was damaged and base jammed into place) and broke a leg of a table, delivered other peoples box - did not explain poundage versus replacement costs, sent movers that had a VERY poor understanding of the English language and covered up their mistakes till I began unpacking and closely inspecting. Company just tells you to file an insurance claim but delivery signing of forms failed to explain poundage (60 cents per pound of items lost, damaged, etc) versus replacement. Hard to seat 8 people at a dining room table that I have chairs for but no middle leaf to extend the table. Very disappointed.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $2377

Good: Communication with staff, efficiency of Florida loading crew. Arrived when they said they would on both ends.

Bad: Questionable charges. Original estimate was for about 1100 cubic feet, and we tried to estimate high. On moving day we were told it was 1500 cubic feet on the truck and the charges were adjusted. Which normally would be fine.

Our stuff, though, was delivered to a storage facility which is 15'x10'x10' which is 1500 cubic feet. And it is about 75-80% full, which tells me we had nowhere near 1500 cubic feet we were charged for.

Either that, or a bunch of our stuff is missing. I'm sure it is the former. Just be careful when they try to change the estimate for your volume.

I should have read reviews prior to using them. (Refer to Michelle T’s review. It is the exact same experience we had). The broker quoted us a price that was reasonable up front only to be told by Direct relocation that we had more cubic footage than what was quoted by the broker. When they loaded our belonging they had 2 smaller trucks and loaded 1 half full and the other was fully loaded. They told me I was to pay for the total cubic footage of both trucks which well exceeded the total cubic footage we had. Upon receiving our belongings at the final destination they loaded all of our belonging on 1 truck. The amount of damage to furniture and boxes was unbelievable. Some of the items they took apart they refused to put back together. They left all of the wrapping and the cardboard that covered the furniture out on the front lawn. No cleanup at all. I did receive a portion of the cubic footage discrepancy but not all that I should have received. I discussed the issue with the manager only to be told I had no idea what it takes to move a home. I was told to file the damage report of all broken items and I would be compensated for the damages. After 3 months I was told I would be receiving a refund. $82 was all that I would be receiving (arbitration is with a scam company. Don’t expect anything). I could go on and I wish I could post photos. All I can say is please do research and do not use this company.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $15923

I was in desperate need to move the same day I 1st called. Honestly not expecting to be able to be accommodated and picked up at least a day or two, if not more. The sales rep was fabulous , detailed and informative. They told me they had a truck in the area and could pick me up within 45 minutes.

The crew was professional, polite and efficient. My price was exactly as I was estimated. They placed everything in the room of my choice upon delivery. Not one item was damaged. Highly recommend Direct Relocation Services. This wasn't the 1st time they moved me and it won't be the last!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1950

Stay way, a nightmare from beginning to end.

1.- the quote went up.

2.- they broke glasses at time of packing.

3.- they were careless.

4.- when the truck arrived to Houston. 2 boxes were missing with valuables with a cost of 10.000 dollars.

3.- everything else came broken.

4.- The insurance is useless, after two months dealing with them, they want to pay us 69 dollars.

5.- the Manager and employee at Relocation service don’t care at all.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Direct Relocation Services handled our move from Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas. Due to poor packing and inept movers at the Las Vegas end, several items were broken. After many, many months of trying to get reasonable reimbursement, they offered $66 for over $6000 in damage. Even at weight, the amount should have been many hundreds of dollars more. When we entered the moving agreement, I was led to believe that full insurance was include.

The so called mover's resolution company, Moving Claims.com dragged the process on for months and induces you to download malware for a PDF conversion product. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS. It is extremely difficult to remove the malware and takes over your browser.

Andrew, at Direct Relocation Services was externally rude and effectively said, "I could care less". He wouldn't even consider a reasonable resolution. I will take this up with the Attorney General of Florida, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA), and Better Business Bureau. I urge all dissatisfied customers to do the same.

Companies like this should not be allowed to conduct business.

Anyone who has used Direct Relocation Services in the last 5 months please be on the look out for plastic totes delivered to you that don’t belong to you. My parents are missing 3 plastic totes picked up in Kalamazoo, MI, stored in Chicago, IL and should have been delivered to Sarasota, FL. The totes were labeled “LADD” and “FLORIDA” and we’re labeled with Direct Relocation Services blue numbered stickers “005” , “008”, and “022”. Had a great experience with the entire team at Direct Relocation Services. Nicole was extremely patient with me, answered all my questions and even provided her cell phone number for me should I have additional concerns. The movers that came were very pleasant and thorough. Maria follows up with you constantly to make sure everything is in order. The move wasn't perfect, the items were delivered a few days after quoted (probably a holiday mix up) and some items were damaged. Andrew was very understanding. apologetic and did his best to make it right. I can appreciate any company that owns mishaps and tries to do right by the customer. Would recommend to anyone!

I could not be more satisfied with the service I received from direct relocation. They contacted me 24 hours prior to confirm their time of arrival, as well as one hour prior as a courtesy. As soon as they arrived, they assessed the situation, and got straight to work, Moving efficiently and effectively. The went the extra mile to ensure that all of my furniture was completely safe while placed in the truck, providing blankets and proper storage and maneuvering. Mike and Jeff were professional, courteous, friendly and hard-working. They even helped give advice on how to organize my furniture when we got it to my new place. If you’re looking to move, I HIGHLY recommend Direct Relocation Services, simply put, they were amazing!

Worst company to move with. Would never recommend these movers to anyone.
I was moving out in August 2019. They were late by 6 hours and made me wait till midnight for all the stuff to be moved. Our plans had to be altered because of this. They made me pay way more than the estimate they had provided, delayed my stuff by 15 days, lost 10+ large boxes, broke my expensive dining, coffee tables, bookcase and hell lot of stuff. They make you pay all of the amount in the beginning and then do not respond to your calls and messages regarding the stuff being delivered. They did not disassemble and reassemble my bed frame and table which obviously took extra space in their truck and they charged me $500 extra for it. The movers were taking smoke breaks every 30 mins and took lot of time to move just 20 large boxes. Scheduling and knowing when your stuff will come was a huge pain. Never thought moving could be such a pain. FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FINANCIALLY STRIPPED OFF. Its almost January 2020 and they have been unable to track any of my lost boxes and redirected me to their claim company which took 4 months and then has given me a claim payment of $64. They charged me $100 for their boxes and tape. How can the claim amount for all damaged goods and lost 10 large boxes be $64??

Better to take the effort and move by yourself. USE ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD BUT PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

It has taken me quite some time to calm down and write this review. I want it to be factual. We were called 3 days prior to our scheduled packing date, asking us to rearrange OUR schedule to accommodate their crew, since THEY made a mistake and scheduled our pickup for the day before Thanksgiving. We changed everything around for them. Upon coming into our home, they advised me that the quote I received was wrong, also on their part, and that my price was going up 2 THOUSAND dollars!!??!! My poor husband who just had two surgeries, fell over boxes, left at the door and had to be brought to the hospital. I was on the phone with ANDREW, who is supposedly management, and Was transfered to by a guy named JORDE, when I screamed out Oh my God, my husband just fell and is hurt bad. He swore at me, AND said DEBRA, I DON'T CARE. What company or person would do this?? Now We have been waiting since yesterday for our items to arrive. Still not here. Sleeping on the floor in our house. I will write more and keep you all posted. Please FOLKS, research this company thoroughly. The owner, Diego somebody, never called us inquiring about my husband or what happened. Stay tuned, more to come from other family members who were at the house when this happened. The gentleman who was in charge of the packing and loading the truck, said he could not believe what he heard coming from Andrew's mouth. Andrew was Hollaring so loud that Jeff heard him.

Spent a great deal of time with me on making sure I understood where numbers were coming from as well as why. Even after some back and forth with the pick up date/time, Jorde went above and beyond to make sure the arrangements worked out best for all parties involved. The moving crew: Mike, Justin and Christian were great; careful with our belongings and still impressed us with their speed! Arrived as planned for both pick up and delivery and were incredibly patient with us as we tried to figure out where furniture and boxes went at the new location. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to make moving as painless as possible.

I would not use this company UNLESS you are prepared for them to be there on the day and time THEY choose. I would not use this company UNLESS you are willing to enlist some of your relatives to be there when they are loading so they can assist with helping the movers to break down desks, etc. that they can't get through the doors so you won't be distracted while you're trying to pay attention to what's going on. I would not use this company UNLESS you are willing to be flexible with their delivery date. I would not use this company UNLESS you can enlist some of your relatives to be there to help unpack all the boxes, check the inventory list so you can note what you are missing, photograph what is damaged and what you have that belongs to another family. You MUST be prepared to call the moving company within 48 hours to discuss the discrepancies and damages even if you have to work around the clock. I would not use this company UNLESS you are willing to be very flexible with paying all their charges. If you are willing to be flexible and accept all these conditions, then I WOULD recommend this company.
