Move.

This was the first time we hired a removal company. We contacted City Removals and 3 other companies. They were the first to reply. We also spoke with them on the phone a few times.Parking was also taken care of by them. They rezerved a few bays with the local council so that they could park right outside our flat.
On the day 2 Romanian chaps turned up.Both in company uniforms.Their english was quite good and they had no problems in understanding and following instructions.
They were very polite all the time and always willing to help. Our furniture was treated with the utmost care and some of it was even wrapped.
They worked hard all day and had no complaints.Their fitness levels must be good as well as they had no problems in going up and down 3 flights of stairs.
Overall a very good service.

No fuss, no muss.

The lady who came to conduct the no obligation survey of our stuff was professional and quick. They promptly provided a competitive quote. There was (reassuringly) excellent communication leading up to the move. And the move itself was simple, efficient and with zero problems - they even arrived early and patiently waited outside until the preappointed time. They just got on with it. This was probably the least stressful bit of our move. I would use these guys again. Thank you City Removals. .

Moving.

Excellent service on all counts. The company was a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process.Everything was dealt with proffessionally and the move itself was as smooth as it can be.
The quotation was clear and well thought out with a clear description of the costs and the type of service we would receive. Most importantly there was no small print so the price agreed was the price we paid.
The men were punctual. We booked them for 08:00 am and they arrived as expected.
Unfortunately we had to wayt 2 hours for our keys but this was not a problem. They told us there are no wayting time charges and there were not.The men parked outside the flat and wayted patiently untill we arrived with the keys.
Before unloading we showed the around the new place. They asked us where we wanted all our furniture and everything was placed as we wanted.
A very good and honest service.

City Removals - Packing & Removal (21/01/2015).

We booked City Removals for both packing and removal from our 2-bedroom flat on the 2nd floor to another 2-bedroom flat on the 2nd floor (both buildings without lifts). Prior to removal, communication was via email and phone, and an assessor also came out to do a site survey to firm up the quote (on a Sunday!). The move took place over 2 consecutive days, with the packing on the first day (7 hours) and the removal on the second day (6 hours). There were over 100 boxes packed and a large proportion of these contained books. Furniture to be removed was less onerous being mostly bookcases, with a TV and some stands, although we also requested a quote for disposing of some other furniture items and these items were taken on the first day. 2 people did the packing, and 3 people did the removal. Note the moving cost shown includes £100 disposal cost. Overall, we were very impressed with the service we received from start to finish, including the contact with the office prior to the removal. Considering the many heavy boxes to be taken up and down flights of stairs, the moving team remained professional and in good humour throughout. They were communicative as needed, and asked when unsure about anything. We are still in awe of their ability to carry many of the boxes up and down stairs that we can barely pick up. We have completed about 80% of the unpacking so far and there have been no damaged items noted (the rest of the boxes are books, so highly unlikely we will find any issues). In terms of price, the quote was on the cheaper end of the scale, but not the cheapest of the quotes we received. We feel it was money well spent, and based on our experience we highly recommend this company.

Good move.

We booked this company about 2 weeks in advance of our move day.
As we had a small baby we asked them for a 10:00am start time and this was not a problem.
When the movers came they introduced themselves,we gave them a good briefing of what was to be done and that was it,they than got on with it.
The whole move took about 7 hours and this was only because they could not find a parking place near the front door at our new address. They did not make an issue out of it and they started unloading.
A good service.

Moving across N London.

An excellent, highly efficient and faultless moving process - everything in our 3 bed flat was dismantled and packed inside 5 hours; all packing carefully checked with us to make sure we were happy with it; vans arrived at new house half an hour later; all unpacked 2 hours later and beds / tables / sofas safely reconstructed. By contrast, it's taken us almost 2 weeks to unpack it all.. £972 extremely well spent!

Stress free removals.

Summary: Excellent service at a reasonable price

Initial assessment and quote: Nicola was the assessor for City-Removals. She came and took 10 minutes to inspect the flat, ask questions, and provide answers to some queries I had. She also provided a summary on how she thought they could best organize the move. Initial impressions left were that this was a professional company. Cost was reasonable when compared with 2 other companies. Decision factors for me were the competency displayed, the insurance coverage, and the positive reviews from other customers.

Packing: A 2 man team came the day before the move. They got on with the job, and when we unpacked later we were very happy. Things were packed sensibly and we had no breakages

Removal: This was a 4 man job, for a 3 bedroom flat. Due to the short distance (we were moving in the same area) they used a Luton van to do 2 trips. Everything was hassle free. Our old neighbours from the 2 other flats in the same building both commented around the quietness and efficiency of the team doing the move. An additional plus, we were able to have them take away a broken wine cooler and dispose of it. There was a small charge, but it is what the council charges for the disposal by businesses, and it was much cheaper than hiring a car

Clean-up: Unpacking was left to us, recommendation is always to unpack yourselves. We took a couple of weeks to get through 80% of the boxes. They then came and picked up all of the empty boxes.

Outstanding.

I am so impressed with City Removals. From beginning to end the service received was second to none. The quote highly competitive, they organised the parking bay suspension, then changed it when our first sale collapsed, as well as deferring the move date with a helpful and flexible approach. We moved from Central London to Ascot, Berkshire. The removal men were outstanding. They arrived early, were diligent, careful and incredibly efficient. I cannot rate them highly enough. I am thrilled to have found them, would use them again without question and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Great service.

I used City Removals to move my 1 bed flat into storage for 3 months, and then into a new property. The prices quoted were very competitive and I was impressed with the professionalism via phone and email. It's obviously slightly worrying to book a service like this as you're putting your trust and valuables at stake so I was glad it started well.

I was delivered some boxes/packing materials prior to the move, and on the day of the move itself the men arrived promptly. The care taken was clear and all of the delicate items (gloss tables, glass, TV, speakers etc) were individually wrapped and looked after.

The items were left in storage for 3 months and they were in perfect condition when I received them back. That move was also faultless, quick and efficient yet a lot of care was taken again.

Both removal crews were friendly and they were a credit to the company. I'll be using them again for my next removal, as the quality combined with service was impressive.

Note the cost quoted in the review was for a removal to storage, and then removal from storage to the new home 3 months later so essentially the cost was doubled.

Professional & Helpful.

Heard of city movers via word of mouth for their service and I wasn't disappointed. Having checked a few other companies, their rates for moving are the most reasonable in London. They came viewed the flat, gave us a quote and that was it. Both the movers were very professional, very helpful. They were on time and efficient. They came with large boxes to help with the move. When a wardrobe didn't fit up the stairs in the new flat, they took it back and reassembled it. Would highly recommend them.
