Stay away from CBD movers. They are cheaters and manipulating customers. I'm a victim. I booked their service 1 month in advance and paid advance amount for a big truck. The booking time was 10 am to 2 pm. I waited till 2 pm, but the truck didn't arrive. When ever I contact them, I was told that wait for the truck, the moving staff are still with previous job. After 2 pm, they contacted me and said they can send small truck and the small truck arrived at 3 pm. I had booked a cleaning service to clean my house at 4 pm before vacating it. They ruined by day and all plans.

Fast and efficient service. Would highly recommend their services to family and friends. They have to be the best that i have used thus far. Only hickup was that i was moved a day late due to their truck being broken.
They are the worst ever service providers I have ever interacted with. They talk good but deliver poor. It was a 2 bed room move. Pickup was good but everything after that was a nightmare.
The complete interstate operation is on the will and wish of one person by name [name removed].
Once they get the payment it takes significant efforts to reach them. Finally when reached he said they did not respond to my calls whole day as they were busy with other new customers. This is really hurting.
The language he uses is extremely unprofessional, "we did FAVOR by picking your stuff the very next day". It is next to impossible to escalate the issue as they won't let you reach till the seniors or management.
Delivery date and time keeps changing. They never honor their commitments and do not even bother to keep the customer posted proactively.
The whole relationship costed significant number of phone calls (easily around 25-30 calls) and loads of stress.
They initially say that the complete unloading will be done by their own person and then their delivery team asked us to help. My complete family helped in unloading as they pleaded that they wont be able to drive after a certain time. Trust me had I not constantly supervised, the lift would have got more scratches and caused further damage to the items.
I opted for insurance by paying extra. When I reported the damage caused. Following were the questions asked:
Did you take the pictures of your items before they were loaded for pickup ?
How will you prove that we damaged it ?
We can help you only if they were brand new ?
Do you have purchase receipts for damaged items ?
Initially I was assured that all the furniture items would be blanket packed but it was false. Only selected items were packed and those too were handled carelessly while unloading.
Looks like they are capable to handle just the local move (which I doubt again) and not interstate. They are completely closed minded and take no feedback to improve. Even for getting the invoice for the payments made I had to chase them several times. I finally accepted the loss from all the damage to avoid any further communication with this company. It really is a wonder to see them survive with such a pathetic standard of service.

CBD Movers significantly damaged my leather sofa to where there was stuffing coming out. At first they tried to deny it saying it was a minor scratch. Then they tried to say that movers warned us of potential damage and that we said it was ok. And now I cannot get a hold of the guy "Rick" who is supposedly managing my claim. Everytime I've called for the past month, "Rick" is not available and will call me back. One time I was asked to send another email, but that too was not returned.
CBD Movers sent me a summary of the price, time frame and locations of the move. The movers arrived early as requested and were quite meticulous with moving our furniture, and indeed in packing the van well. We were able to move a 3 bedroom, two living room size house, including furniture stored in garage in 5 hours. I was very happy with the result.
Totally incompetent do not use!! I had an awful experience with this company. They were excessively late. I had to chase them up had no contact. Removalists spoke very poor English, did not follow directions, wasted time on their phones, and did not complete the job even when still within the time I paid for. They left belongings at my old home and refused to complete the job when I instructed them to they told me to collect them myself then they just laughed and left. I didn’t know if my old home had been left open either. Any complains to their call centre which was also staffed with very poor English speakers went disregarded. Avoid at all costs!!
I can't even describe the experience I had with these awful people. CBD damaged my furniture, timber floors and electronics and the damages are in the $$ thousands. I talked to the removalists during and after the move about the damages and they just ignored me. When I said I do not feel comfortable paying them till the damage-issue is resolved, they told me that I "have to pay them now" and got very rude and aggressive.. I got scared and paid. I started crying when they left because I knew in that moment that I never will see any of the damages reimbursed by this company. I got a professional in to look at the floor today and he estimated the damage to the wooden floor of my new rental to be around $4000, because the scratches are so deep. When I got in touch with CBD's 'support' team, they are basically laughing at me calling my furniture old and used. I did some research and it turns out they are scamming people since years under different business names. Please whatever you do, do not book them and if you have been victim to their crimes please file a complaint with ACCC https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us/contact-the-accc/report-a-consumer-issue.
With reference to my below review and cancellation of the booking, I am still awaiting my advance payment refund from 16th Nov. Everyday, the customer service person confirms the payment will be done today, in 3 hours' time, etc., but till now I am hearing the same excuses every day. One day in a year at least speak the truth and act professionally. Completely unreliable, untrustworthy company. Should be banned from doing business in a country like Australia.

Would have rated 0 stars if it can be rated. Just trust their bad reviews on google as any of the good reviews may be fake. These people do not care what promises have been made and only care about how much business they can make.
Very poor planning and scheduling. Customer service personnel provide false information and lies without hesitation and thought of what the person on the other side is suffering.
I have made an order and paid advance 10 days in advance from the pick-up day.
Since, I have to collect sofas from a third party, an hour away from my home, I have clearly said the pickup time has to be 10.30 am on email and over the calls and they have assured that the truck will be at 10.30 am.
9.30 am: I got a text saying my pick up will be delayed. When we called and negotiated about the situation, they informed us that the truck will be there by 11.30 am and they have escalated my order to priority. A separate truck (not from any job) was promised to be sent to us.
I have been waiting on the street with all the sofa sets from 10:00 am.
11:25 am: I called them to track the truck and been told that the truck is leaving in 2 minutes and will be there by 12.30 pm.
12.30 pm: I called them to track the truck and I have been told that the truck will be there by 1.30 pm and they promised that it is the final change and no more delays.
1:30 pm: I called them and requested to escalate to their managers and they told me that the truck will come by 2.30 pm. I really got frustrated with their system of false information every time, as their truck is busy working somewhere and we were waiting on the streets for hours.
1:45 pm: Their truck driver messaged that he will be there in 1 hour.
Even with the priority service as they mentioned, this is the situation.
I canceled the order with them and booked with Singh movers. They are cheaper than CBD movers and even with the last minute call, came to our pick-up asap and offered a fantastic service.
When I raised this complaint about a fair judgment from their complaints team, they simply replied, unavoidable delays are permitted as per their terms and conditions.
When a job is booked 10 days ago and there is a schedule for the day and the 'n' number of trucks available, I really do not understand how they function and run this business.
If they have told by 9.30 am that the truck is not available until 2.45 pm, we would have canceled the order and would not have to wait 4+ hours on the street for no reason.
I am in the process of consulting my lawyer with this situation.

The two removalist's that attend the job were extremely unprofessional and rude. I only had seven items to move which were already in the lounge room waiting to be moved. The two removalist's took over an hr to move all the items down a flight of stairs with the truck positioned directly out the front of the door. I had to help them move the fridge , washing machine and lounge down the stairs because they both almost dropped each item.
The removalist left the first place before me yet I arrived ten minutes before they did. The second place was a 2 minute drive.
Upon arriving and when I made the booking I informed your company there were 4 flights of stairs. The removalist attempted to extort more money off me. This is highly unprofessional.
I had to once again assist the two removalist's move the Fridge, washing machine and the lounge up the four flights of stairs. I worked harder and move more items than what I paid for.
I have attached a photo of how your employee carried my expensive TV. I don't believe carrying a tv on a shoulder is very professional.
The job took two hours which I find extremely poor. The job was quoted to take an hr. I provided everything that was required to be moved. Yet your two removalist's were slow, unprofessional and as stated I moved more of the furniture then what they did.
I expect a full refund for the extremely poor service I received. I regret using your company as the $190 I paid was for such a poor service.

Your employee's also had no blankets or tape and wanted me to provide these items. I find this to be completely unprofessional.
Painfully slow "service", movers don't arrive on time and don't keep to the mutually arranged time slot, no respect, no explanations, inefficient, need assistance understanding how to use space appropriately, no sense of logistics, complete disregard for customers, movers not equipped for the job. I can go and on. I am stronger than them and could have done a better job myself. The company overcharges customers and are totally unprofessional. This is not a way to run a business!
The movers were generally very negligent with my things and turned my fridge on it’s side! They also badly scratched one of my cabinets. They have refused to address my complaints.

They were available on last minute request, hence 2 starts, otherwise I would have given single star. They arrived more than an hour late after multiple phone calls. We recently moved a three bedroom house locally. The truck arrived 4 and a half hours late, with no updates given despite us calling the call centre numerous times. When we complained about how late the truck was we were told 'too bad, that's the moving business'. We appreciate that it could have been running late, but 4.5 hours with no update is ridiculous. Once arrived, the movers sat in the driveway for 20 minutes before starting. It was clear they were packing the truck poorly, refused help and worked very slowly - we kept hearing them whisper to each other 'go slow, go slow'. On arrival they again worked slowly and we had to get them to just put all the furniture down in one area and move it ourselves, as it was incredibly frustrating. We then had a number of pieces of furniture held hostage while they overcharged us by an hour. We also discovered a number of items were left at the old house as they had forgotten to load them on the truck and when asked they said 'you need to sort it out yourself'. The head office advised they would investigate the overcharging but we have heard nothing further. The whole process for a similar move with a competent company last time took around 2 hours, these guys managed to drag it out to 3.5 hours and then charged us for an additional hour! Would not recommend and will never use again.
This company is the worst company you can ever deal with ! Initially when I contacted them only for a quote they called me every single day from then on to get me book in with them ! But surprisingly enough after I booked with them they never turned up on the day! After 6 hours delay they just did not call nor show up !! My husband and I ended up moving all our heavy furniture ourselves!! Absolutely horrendous experience!!
I used these guys to move 5 items of furniture. The move was done in 40 minutes. They charged me for 2 trucks and 4 movers and 2 hours of removal time to move 5 items. Staff are arrogant. Will NEVER use this company again. The move was also less than 2km total distance between the 2 locations. They charged almost $500 after originally being quoted $84/hr. Absolute ripoff! Do not use. They ask for a deposit and once they have you hooked, they change what you agreed to. Very unethical business. Please be warned.
The job was estimated between 12 and 3pm. The movers came at 5pm. They were very slow and a 2 bedroom unit took 4 hours. The distance between the 2 addresses was 800 metres. The truck was too small and 2 trips were needed. I paid for 3 hours with a credit card. They ended up working an extra hour and told me their credit card machine no longer worked. Weird as it worked 2 hours ago. Then they made me go to a ATM to get cash out at 9pm to pay for the remaining hours work. Apart from that the movers were polite and did not damage anything.

Sent us 2 movers who could barely lift 20kg items. Did not know how to lift basic furniture. Damaged floors in our new house. Continually wasted time by hiding in the truck and on their phones every opportunity we turned our backs.

I am so disappointed with the lack of service I received. I booked for a Saturday 12- 3pm, after 2pm I received a call saying that my job had been moved to 3-6pm time slot. At 5.30pm I received a call that my job had been cancelled, I was informed that they do not work Sundays but could come Monday 3-6pm, I booked then. At 4.30pm Monday I rang to check how things were going as nobody had arrived, I was on hold for 15 mins whilst somewhere checked, they then told me they would call me back in 2 mins. No one called back. I rang back about 5.20pm. I asked where the truck was and was informed they would be there at 7pm. I asked if they were really coming as I really needed to move, they told me they would be there. At 6.45pm I received a call, the job had been cancelled, they rescheduled for the following morning 7am-9am. I was so concerned they wouldn’t turn up, I found another company who did the job that night. I am so disapointed with cbd movers and the lack of service i recieved. I took a day off work because they had delayed my original booking, then they didn’t turn up. I also had to find alternative accomodation at the last minute for 3 nights. I lost money and time during really stressful circumstances. This company are dodgy, dishonest and should be avoided.
Sent sun contractors who didn’t want to walk 20m which was the closet access to property. Drove off to another job without telling me. Company sent another truck 5 hours later. Same Unprofessional attitude. Advised they had an argument with their supervisor and left. Got left to do move ourselves. They kept deposit.

"Broken truck", delayed arrival, exceptionally slow movers, so slow infact we had to move ALL of our 2 bedroom apartment ourselves out of the apartment and into our new one besides the fridge which they put 2 huge scratches in, washing machine and entertainment unit which they broke unloading from truck. Neither mover was wearing a mask as per Covid rules. After asking them to request one from the Receptionist in the building or walk 20m to the supermarket and buy one, they both refused. I was stupid enough to believe the reviews until I spoke to a friend today who also used them in her last move and items were stolen and she ended up having to make a police report. From there I also found a Facebook group about the alleged scams they are running with their customers. Considering we did the whole move ourselves apart from transport of goods, I'm not sure what we paid for.
When I sent in a complaint the next day they tried to work their way out of responsibility, claiming movers had told us about the damage prior to move. (Outright lie) claimed that damage was superficial so it didn't count as damage, tried to find loop holes in their T's&Cs. Then they finally decided they were going to offer me $47 to settle. What a joke. Beyond unprofessional.
Cancelled job on a Sunday afternoon the day before settlement
I booked a 10tone truck with 2 men to move two households into storage and then a following booking for 2.5 weeks later into the new property.
I booked between 2-6 for Sunday 21st of March (day before settlement) I was told I would get a phone call 30 mins before they arrived, so when my phone rang at 1.50 I thought they were soon to be arriving. Instead they dropped the bombshell that they could not do my booking due to rain!! WTF!!! I was astonished as it was not raining and the forecast didn’t show rain. I told them that this was not good enough to which they said they would try their hardest to arrange something.
I got a phone call 10 minutes later to say they’ve tried but couldn’t make it work due to a truck break down. (Story has changed)
When I said they better figure out something and to call me when they’ve figured out how to move our two households that day they said they’d get back to us again.
30 mins later, a phone call to say nothing can be done but to move their booking to the following day (settlement was occurring)
I called them out on the rain story and asked why they wanted me to move my booking on a day in which had heavy rainfall forecasted yet they couldn’t do it in drizzle!
To make matters worse, I had two people call me afterwards to ask if I wanted to cancel the Appointment. They do not communicate to one another or read notes left on the booking.
I would never ever ever recommend this pitiful business to anyone unless you wanted to be let down at the last minute.
The worst experience I have ever had. Please don't trust their works and prices. I fixed the price with all the details 2 times before the procedure and double-checked it. They came to the pick-up point after 5 hours lateness and at the finishing time easily changed the fixed price and add a lot of costs at the service time and threaten me to increase the price more and more if I continue calling. So rude and shifty people with low-quality jobs. They offer a lower price to attract people and then charged double. for 1 hour and 4o min job they charged me 2.5 hours with 5 hours lateness.
Very rude, arrogant staff,not punctual, unprofessional in their work.. Not well trained on how to keep stuff on truck. They were very careless while moving stuff. Boxes were put upside down, on side ways. Worst of all they asked me to pay before unloading the truck.i felt like i have been overcharged and being blackmailed if i dont Pay they will drop all the stuff just on the road. I contacted their customer service team hoping to get some positive response but never got call back . I just gave up . Finally paid for whatever they asked me because truck driver keep saying that your time is still running and you will be charged even more. Let me add one more thing here while truck driver was talking to his boss infront of me said that i am an indian and I should not be trusted with payment. He very well knew that i can understand his language. Never again. It was very stressful. I will not recommend to anyone . I will make sure my Indian friends know what my experience was like . My suggestion to them is hire some sensible people and fire bad staff.
