Long-distance move from El Segundo, CA to Bend, OR

Wonderful Drop Off.

Overall really enjoyed working with company - they were super prompt in responding and answering questions after our moving brokers were really HORRIBLE, California Relocation Systems was so kind. Our delivery driver, Sam, was kind and intentional and very respectful of our time. He was on time and considerate of my 6 month old sleeping. Totally would recommend working with them.

Out of state move to Arizone.

10/16/2019

Thank you to the boys from California Relocation for the great move.  My wife and I  headed out to Arizona with our two kids, and we were concerned with the price, and if the movers were going to show up to our new home in Phoenix on time.  Before the move George suggested that we pay a flat rate for our own truck and receive expedited delivery.  With two little ones under two years old I didn't need any more stress.  They got us out of Cali and into Arizona the next day!  All of our family offered to help us out but we wanted everything done professionally.
Now we're all settled and I can spend my time helping my wife get situated in her new school.  Big shout out to George and Mike for all their help and the moving crew for doing such a good job.  I would be happy to recommend this company to all my peeps, can't say enough about how good they were.  Even the kid's toys are safe and sound in our new home.  I'm so glad it's over!  Thank you so much California Relocation Systems and God bless!

Local move within California

Company is Totally Fraudulent! Do not use!!

I hired California Relocation Systems (CRS) to move our worldly goods from Clovis, CA to Tucson, AZ. Mike Pistano, CRS Transport Consultant asked me questions over the phone about the contents of each room of our home, gave me a written estimate of $6500, and asked for a down payment of $1,817.71.

A consultant who accompanied the movers on July 5, 2019, claimed that we had an excessive amount of furniture and boxes. With no explanation for CRS’s inaccurate estimate of the volume of our property, the consultant ordered an additional truck, doubled our estimate, and demanded immediate payment of $8,515 for the move to proceed. With a legal deadline to move out of our sold house, I was compelled to write the check, which I assumed would be straightened out when the second truck arrived.

The packers of both trucks took good care of my belongings and carefully wrapped furniture in moving blankets. Although they loosely packed the second truck, they still did not fill it up. Clearly, I was being shammed.

Per our contract, CRS stored our belongings at no cost in their CA warehouse until we purchased a new home in Tucson. Once we bought our new home, we called CRS to deliver our property. Only one truck—a rental—arrived in Tucson.

Outrageously, CRS required us to pay the remaining balance of $2,938.95 before they would unlock their truck and unload our belongings, and denied us our right to first inspect our property and to determine if anything was missing or damaged before we paid the bill.

I asked Jim Horky, CRS Assistant Operations Manager, how two trucks of property could be delivered to us in Tucson in a single truck. He said the truck to Tucson was packed more tightly and efficiently.

In truth, only one truck delivered our property because CRS had “misplaced” a multitude of boxes and furniture, including the roll to my wife's prized antique rolltop desk and an Amish-crafted wooden glider; delivered a dining room tabletop without legs; and brought the legs of a kitchen table without the tabletop.

I phoned Horky again to inquire how CRS could require full payment yet breach our contract. He said CRS would find and deliver our property to us and suggested we contact Dawn Wade, a CRS customer service rep, who committed to calling the warehouse and finding our property.

A week later, Yaz, a remarkably able CRS mover I had made friends with from the second CRS truck in CA, called from the CRS warehouse in CA. He reassured us by showing us property via FaceTime, including the rolltop, porch glider, dining room table legs, and kitchen tabletop.

About ten days later, the second truck—a rental—arrived in Tucson. Incredibly, CRS sent the truck with a driver and no movers to help unload, failed to deliver the porch glider and missing rolltop, unloaded several pieces of unwrapped, damaged furniture, and delivered several unlabeled boxes that did not belong to us.

Yaz, the only CRS employee who sincerely tried to “make us whole” was not at the warehouse when the second truck was loaded, did not know why the second truck failed to deliver the property we saw on FaceTime, and promised to inquire and update us.

We called Dawn Wade to report having received someone else’s property. She asked if there were CRS stickers on those boxes, but those boxes lacked identification. With a complete lack of concern, she instructed us to put the boxes on the next CRS truck to deliver our remaining property.

About two weeks later, a third truck—a rental—delivered the missing rolltop, porch glider, and other items.

In all, CRS picked up 1.5 truckloads, made 3 truck deliveries, lost an antique dresser and large closet organizer, delivered a damaged antique desk, and destroyed an antique library table beyond repair. CRS demonstrated reprehensible extortion tactics, a complete lack of professional-grade customer service, and poor and careless management of our property.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to San Antonio, TX

Better Than Anticipated.

This moving process was handled much more smoothly than I was anticipating. I really have nothing negative to say about this moving company. They did everything they promised and in my opinion a bit more than average. Definitely deserve a recommendation.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $7700

Official company response

Hi Shanika,

Thank you so much for the great review. We always appreciate. We understand moving can be very stressful and the majority of our customers are extremely nervous and overwhelmed. Thank you for putting your faith in our team. I told you we wouldn't let you down!

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Tacoma, WA

Intoxicated Employee and Rogue Techniques.

Issues with my move on 09/28/2019:
1)One of the movers showed up intoxicated and threw my belongings off the back of the truck, and proceeded to threaten my Aunt and then get into a fight with the driver and foreman. The company's point of contact refused to remedy the situation after we showed him videos of the assault, and stated that because I was not hit, then he didn't see what the issue was;
2) DOT License is expired;
3) Will double the estimate at time of move, and will try to add additional costs quickly during negotiations. They will also deny knowledge of the previous estimate or any 'extras' promised;
4) Will only accept cash last minute;
5) Positive reviews have been linked to Birdeye, an online reputation management company. Read BBB reviews for the truth about this company.

If you have experienced similar issues then go to the below website to file an official moving complaint with the DOT. A majority of the issues stated by actual clients are listed as Red Flags in their guidance documentation.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $3000

Official company response

Hi Alex,

We are sorry about the incident that happened on your move however your version of the story is a little different than ours.

The incident DID NOT happen on your property. It happened across a 4 lane busy street from your home. This was the mover's first and last day with our company. The mover inn question was sent home by the foreman an hour into your move. It was about 50 degrees outside and he kept complaining about being cold. He left for 90% of the move. The driver that delivered you in Washington (Yaisal) came to your home in San Fran when the move was just about finished to start his trip directly from your house to Washington. He came with 2 pizzas for the crew. The employee that was sent home apparently didn't go home. Apparently he didn't go home. When he was told he was already paid and to go home again he became irate and knocked the pizza out of the drivers hand and physically threatened him. Yaisal defendened himself until the foreman ran across the street to break up the fight while Ed laughed and videoed the fight. When we asked Ed why he didn't call the police his answer was "because we weren't involved".

1) You and Ed's idea to "remedy" the situation was to extort us for $600 to not post the video and the review (we have the recording of Ed). Our idea was to expedite your delivery at no charge (which we did). You were picked up on 9/28 and delivered on 9/29 800 miles away.
2) Our DOT license is not expired. Anyone that reads this go to http//safer.fmca.dot.gov
3) There were no negotiations. The foreman gave you a revised estimate BEFORE the move started. If you did not want us to proceed with the move you didn't have to. The foreman brought the estimate to your home and showed you the differance in inventory.
4) Since you were getting next day delivery and personal checks, credit cards etc take a few days to clear we gave you the option of cash, cashiers check, or postal money order.
5) All reviews are linked to Birdeye. Birdeye links to the BBB and Google. Yes, we spend money to survey our customers to see where we can improve or to bonus employees that do earn positive reviews.

Long-distance move from Belen, NM to Kansas City, MO

From New Mexico to Kansas City Missouri.

We had such a wonderful experience with our three movers. Dalisha, Yaz,and Caleb were all so hardworking. They all were so respectful and caring of our belongings. They used special quilted blankets and took special care by wrapping and taping our furniture. Thanks so much for your wonderful service!

Moving Experts.

I’m not a moving expert but I know how a move should be properly conducted. This company didn’t insult my intelligence and respected my time. They followed all of the typical moving guidelines to ensure a successful long distance move from Los Angeles to St. Louis. I’d recommend California Relocation Systems in a heartbeat.

Long-distance move from Santa Ana, CA to Marietta, GA

Highly anticipated.

Highly satisfied with the service I received from California Relocation Systems. I couldn’t of went with a better certified company for my moving needs. They were the most suitable to meet my moving criteria. They picked up and dropped off my belongings within the narrow timeframe I was looking for, which many other interstate movers couldn’t guarantee. Not only could this company fulfill that request, but they were also able to fulfill my expectations in a variety of other areas. Truly, an outstanding experience. I’d recommend them to others.

Local move within California

We were extorted and had our belongings stolen.

We contracted with a company called Summit Moving and Storage. However, we found out later that they sub-contracted with California Relocation Systems. We had a 10 X 10 storage unit that was about half filled. We signed a not to exceed $2200 moving estimate agreement and were told that our items would be directly shipped and we would receive in two to three days with a legal obligation to deliver within 10 days. A man with two Penske rented box trucks showed up almost 12 hours late, right when our storage facility was closing. We checked out of the storage facility and were essentially stranded. He pulled all our items out of the unit and had them sprawled out on the sidewalks. He then demanded $2200 on top of our $800 deposit. We had no choice but to pay as we had no where to put our items and the storage unit was closed. He loaded our sectional sofa and washer and dryer into a 2nd truck. We never saw those items again. After 4 days we contacted the company regarding ETA and received a return phone call from the person who came to the storage unit. He threatened us and told us to never contact him again. He said he would deliver our items if he "felt" like it and when he "felt" like it. He stated that if we bothered him again that he would drop our items off at storage unit and we would have to pay to pick them up and pay for the storage unit. He also stated that he had the right to keep our items and the only recourse we had was to file a missing items claim and they simply give us 60 cents on the weight of the items. After two weeks had passed with no communication or delivery we contacted the company again only to be told to stop harassing them. At this point we reached out to Summit Moving and Storage whom we had contracted with and they informed us that they had sub-contracted with California Relocation Systems. After a month we received half of our items, we thought we were receiving all items and even had to pay another $800 which doubled our original not to exceed agreement. We were told that the rest of our items were going to be delivered ASAP. In the next two months we were told numerous times that our items were coming, but we have yet to receive our items or a refund for not delivery them or for being charged for delivering them. Both companies have ceased responding to us. We were charged almost 4k and have not been delivered our 2k sectional sofa or 1500 washer and dryer or numerous boxes that included our wedding dishes. We have lost about 8 thousand dollars from this company. Our items were picked up in August and we are now in December. Do not contract with this company!!

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Salt Lake City, UT

Beware of these movers..do your research.

SCAM ALERT..California Relocation Systems was the worst customer experience I’ve had had in my life. Beware of this company. When things go wrong with your move (and they likely will) you will be dealing with people that are both inept at their jobs and completely uncaring for the customer. Here’s what I experienced. Refer to the Better Business Bureau (F rating) along with other online reviews and you will see I’m one of many mistreated customers.

• Changed quote (price/cubic foot) once truck was loaded, resulting in higher charge

• Lost roughly 1/3 of all our items

• Claim packet for lost items was received by them Feb 11th, as of Aug 18th they have not responded and will not answer any emails or phone calls

• Only sent one mover to unload full truck at destination. Had to pay our painters to help move items

Please read reviews on the popular review sites before calling them. That initial quote will prove to good to be true and cost you thousands of dollars later.
