More stress is the last thing a person needs. Moving definitely adds to this, so I'm glad that services like Assurance Van Lines exist. Like the song says, I've been everywhere, and I wasn't looking forward to jumping from Houston to St. Louis, but the whole thing was over before I knew it! Assurance offers fair prices, and the actual movers were very careful with my belongings (many of which were fragile). If you're stubborn about DIY when it comes to moving, I'd rethink that rule. Assurance Van Lines ensured that I could focus my energy elsewhere, and have the easiest time of starting anew while avoiding back problems. Highly recommended.

My job transferred me to Texas and I only had like ten days to pack up my whole house and get everything moved. Needless to say I was a mess! I scrambled all over the internet trying to find a good moving company with good rates, but ended up getting so overwhelmed so I called my sister (who moved two years ago) and she told me that Assurance Van was who she used and raved about how great they were, etc. I was nervous though, I mean, I've always moved my own things (well, my boyfriend usually did all the heavy lifting haha) and I wasn't sure if I could trust anyone with all my stuff. I had old hairloom things from my great grandmother like her lamps and quilt and this framed photo of her etc. But I had no choice I didn't have much time. So I did the quote online and called them to set it up. The coordinater I spoke to was so awesome. She explained how everything worked and even told me they can help me pack my own boxes! But I told her that wasn't necessary I just needed them moved to Texas, we'd do everything else. I did the deposit with her and that was that so easy. On moving day, the Assurance guys came on time and were really friendly - even when my dogs kept trying to chase their feet all over haha. It was such an in and out kind of deal and I kept thinking why didn't we ever use movers before instead of my boyfriend's truck all the time. In a couple days the movers showed up at our new home and brought in all the boxes. Everything was just as I'd packed it! I couldn't believe it. This was seriously one of the easiest things that I didn't know would be easy haha. I don't know how other moving companies are, but I must of lucked out because I'm so thrilled we went with Assurance. The price was good, they were nice and now we're already unpacked and waiting to start my new position on Monday!!

There was an emergency in my family, and we had to get a relative of mine moved closer to home in a relatively short amount of time. We've always just done moves ourselves, with just a rented truck and plenty of time to pack and drive, so the project seemed incredibly exhausting and daunting. We were moving a 3-bedroom house and 10 years worth of belongings. We started the packing process and realized that the task was too big for the handful of family members and our friends.

We went with Assurance based on a friend's recommendation and I was astonished at how much easier they made things. Packing would have taken us several days on our own, loading the truck would have been another day, we'd have taken it slow driving between cities, just to repeat the process when we arrived. Assurance's staff was there right on schedule, the packing was done and the vehicle was on the road that night, and it only took a few days to get to it's destination. Unloading and unpacking happened the day it arrived as well. All of our belongings were safe the staff was incredibly easy to work with throughout the whole process.

They took what felt like a daunting project and got it done in about 1/5 of the time and effort it would have taken on it's own. They took a lot of weight off of a stressful situation with their hard work. I'll use Assurance every time I move (which hopefully isn't for a long time), without a doubt.

I was extremely stressed out about my long move from Austin to New York City. I had a lot of fragile items and many things that were important to me that I didn't want to leave behind but didn't want to get crushed in the moving process. Luckily, I found Assurance Van Lines and they moved my stuff extremely quickly and with this highest care! All of my items arrived in perfect condition! Their price was amazing and I would recommend them to anyone looking to move!

Guys, my name is Venkatesh and I am new to US. living in schenectady, NY and had to move to Chicago.
they gave all the rosy and green pictures for the move. they told me they have their own trucks etc etc.
Before I start, they told me a price and changed it two times before pick up. Then when the truck landed at my home, they didn't look professional. Previous day they called me and told the truck would come for pick up at 7AM in the morning and need to be ready. I waited from 7 AM kept calling them 20 times and then the truck lands up at 2.30 PM. I have a new born child and we had our flights booked in evening which I had to cancel because they had another pick up in New Jersey. When they arrived they said they are from state to state movers, when I called back assurance van lines they said they don't have any trucks they are generally a call center kind of a company, working on commission for setting up such moves.
Second surprise, they committed they would deliver on Thursday, when I called on Wednesday they say the state to state truck movers have not loaded completely and they don't know when they would start and they will only start or transit when their truck is full. Assurance van lines said they cannot do anything as they are just brokers working on commission for moves and we need to contact State to state movers (888-315-0523). This company is so unprofessional, when I called them the lady was so rude that she hung up saying she is busy. Second time I called she said the truck would leave only when the load is full and don't disturb calling us, we will call you when the truck is full. When I asked for the supervisor, she said she cannot and put me on hold for 20 mintues and then comes back asking are you still there and put me on hold again and then hung up. So guys, looking at some positive reviews in this site I booked with them, I believe all the positive reviews here are fake. I can really talk more and more. PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH ASSURANCE VAN LINES, AS THEY ARE JUST A CALL CENTER AND BROKERS WORKING FOR COMMISSION AND THEY DONT TAKE ANY OWNERSHIP. you may contact me and can explain all the pains I have gone through with them.

I recently used Assurance Van Lines services to relocate a hefty amount of furniture into my Wisconsin home and was very satisfied. I expected that moving 4 intermediate size bedrooms worth of furniture this distance would take several days, but was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which Assurance was able to finish my move. In less than 12 hours, everything had arrived safely, and the staff was professional throughout the process. The price was affordable and there were no hidden fees (as you may experience with other moving services). I would recommend using this service if you are moving a lot of items and would like the job done efficiently.

I recently utilized Assurance Van Lines in order to help me move all of my belongings and furniture from a 2 bedroom home to a new place in northern VA. I was extremely satisfied with the service they provided!

The price they quoted me was one of the most fair in my opinion. When I spoke to customer service, the woman I spoke to was very friendly and professional. She laid out a plan
with me which calmed my nerves. I was already overwhelmed with having to move into a new environment/job with short notice, but working with this company provided me with great relief.

Now, the day of the move. The movers came on time and were very friendly and courteous. I could tell they respected my space and my belongings. When I got to my new place, they unloaded everything and nothing was broken or damaged. Very impressed!

Do not waste your time. Anyone who gave this company 5 stars is either a fake account, a friend, or worker. I thought booking through Assurance Van Lines was the biggest mistake of my life, however Transit Moving- the contracted company by Assurance has managed to top them in awful performances.

I am due to have a baby anyday and had to move from Seattle to New Orleans, due to my husbands career in civil service. We had our items 100% entirely packed and ready to go on "moving day", the movers were at our home for maybe 25 minutes, long enough to charge almost $1000 more than quoted. We left Seattle that night to drive to New Orleans. Our items were to be delivered 8 days later as promised by Assurance and the date I wrote when the moving team came. I called with 5 days left until delivery date to double check the items were on the truck and headed south. I was told that because I wrote 11/1/17 instead of 11-01-17 the company took my first delivery date as 11/11/17. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? There wasn't a better [EDIT] excuse or a lying company to come up with?? Now, I have paid $2400 for a SINGLE apartments worth of stuff and all of my unborn daughters belongings to arrive "within the 21 day legal window we have from the written date". What's really interesting is not one individual can provide a photo of my signature and date.

I called Transit on this past Friday just in hopes it may be sooner and we do not have to purchase new baby items after such an overpriced move. I was told my items would arrive Monday or Tuesday. I was shocked! As they have not arrived, we just called to see a delivery window for tomorrow. They told us to only contact the driver from now on, switching the hand of blame. The driver stated there was no chance he would arrive earlier than this weekend (6 days from today another 12 from my original promise) or next week.

Moving is a game, do not play with this.

I Read reviews and I wish I would have listened. This Company is very unprofessional and I wish I would have known they hire any and everyone to come and move your things. In the beginning, they are so helpful and always available when you do have any questions. Once you book with them and they have your deposit (money), they are no longer understanding, helpful or accommodating. I was told the movers would arrive Monday or Tuesday by the gentlemen "Blake". When I asked him how would I know for sure which date he said I would receive a 24 hours courtesy call to confirm the exact time and date for pickup. Well, I advise you be on top of them and call them because the only call I received was a call saying they were on the way. Monday, Sep 25th, I was extremely frustrated that I never received a call Sunday to set up a time, so I assumed they would be calling Monday to schedule a time for Tuesday. I spoke with "Shayla" who was absolutely NO help, I was pretty upset with them. She dispatched the driver who was beyond rude. He proceeded to yell and say "Look this is all I have available and I do not have time for this and actually hung up on us. This is the type of people they hire. I was furious and Shayla said there was nothing she could do. She had an awful attitude with me because I was upset. I got off the phone with her and call the number 800-951-0502 that was attached to the email from Blake he sent me when booking my reservation. The women who answered again was Shayla, and once I gave her my Job # she realized it was me again and yelled "Ma'am what is it that you need" I told her I was looking to speak with Blake Cornett to see where the mix up was and why I was not given a courtesy call, she said, Blake was no longer able to help or have access to this reservation (all of a sudden). So At this point, I wanted a manager, she yelled back at me for about a minute as I insisted on speaking with someone other than her. Finally, she puts "John" who says he is a manager on the phone. He states Shayla is one of their top employees and has always been nice and understanding, although today this was not the case. John told me he was very sorry we did not receive a courtesy call and he was trying to get in touch with the driver and see why they never called me or my husband, but no matter what we are supposed to remain available 48 hours prior to pick. Basically, that's all they could say, the driver was never able to provide proof of calling us, because he NEVER did. As bad as I wanted to just say I don't want you service I had already paid the down payment. During this whole conversation, I am in the care speeding home from work. Now I had not even found a king size mattress cover but after going to 4 different stores I had to give up and just rush home to finish taping up boxes.

Fast Forward, The Movers arrive and they were honestly so unprofessional and even used profanity around my goddaughter and two girls. The first guy jumped out the truck yelling "which of you are in charge" my fiance said he was because at this point I was extremely upset. They went over some paperwork and we had explained to them we were still unable to find a king size mattress cover, so would we have to throw our bed out if it was not covered. He called a manager I believe and said if it is not covered it cannot go on the truck, which is understandable but I wish I would have known you can add things to your reservation but you CANNOT remove anything. So we still paid for it even though it could not go. I decided to walk my goddaughter and her mother out and the guy who was with my fiance doing paper said very loudly "how many Dang (but the actual curse word) feet are in this living room". At this point, I was to my breaking point regretting going with Assurance Van Line Service Inc. How dare you to say something like that around my family. Once I walked them out even my friend was said she would never recommend this company just off those words. I went back in the house and took my girls in my bedroom for the rest of the night. I can see them right outside my bedroom window, and at one point they were throwing my plastic bins down the stairs and laughing, I could hear them say "I don't get paid enough for this stuff (using the actually Curse word again). I understand you might be feeling this way and that's fine but expressing it out loud while slinging my thing around is not professional and just flat out rude. My fiance even said they look like they were on some sort of drugs or had been drinking and honestly I agree.
When it comes to delivery, there is no way to check the status so just be sure to be available because more than likely they won't call to say they are on the way. They can Monday, Sep 25 and I had not heard anything from them. On the evening of October 4th the call my fiance to save they would be arriving at 7 am. (thankfully we actually got a courtesy call). A week ago on October 5th, two gentlemen arrived and we began to explain the pink paper they left us with the remaining balance on it was incorrect. I gave a $500 deposit and the remaining balance was to be split between pickup and delivery. The guy at pick had written down the wrong amount and we had not noticed this until they left. When the guys at delivery called the manager had begun to get loud with me and said this is the first he had heard anything and we should have called prior to this. Well, I tried calling but I also said there was no way they could not fix it when you have emails of what I had paid. Although it was only $40, the fact is that this company is extremely unprofessional and rude. I have never dealt with anything like this from a company.
Beware of how unprofessional, this company is even when the person setting up your reservation seems like they are always available for anything during your whole process because they quickly are nowhere to be found or are not allowed to talk.

After getting my new job, I was a little hesitant about how I was going to tackle a move from New York to Florida without a lot of time, but after looking around the web and researching my options, Assurance appeared to be the company that had all of the services I needed. I'm pleased to say that I was right! The team that came was fantastic and super respectful of my things (I admittedly can be a little particular when it comes to certain items). I was super pleased when everything arrived on time and just as it was before I left. It was really easy to make all of the arrangements I needed and the customer service rep that I dealt with answered all of my questions and was really helpful.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

I was sent an binding estimate for moving, which turned out to be not so binding. I was never asked specific questions about the items in the estimate that would be moved. I went over the items on the list and did not see any problems. I sent a deposit to book the move. The next day I received a call from the company to go over the items with me. There was a discrepancy in the estimate, worth $600. I had to give them more of a deposit and luckily the moving company worked with me to not have to change the next payment. I feel that the estimate was not done in good faith and that they only called me after I sent a deposit because they had me locked in. I feel this was a scam to get more money out of me. The move is not done yet but I am sure that there will be further problems with the move before this is all over.

I've moved so much that I can confidently say I'm a moving pro. I've rented out the Pods, Uhauls and have had movers help me move in the past, and thought it would be beneficial to the community to know the difference.

With Pods you're basically responsible for loading the pods, dealing with it parked on the driveway and spend days loading it up. The cost is moderate.

With uhaul, it's about the same as pods except that you have to drive out vehicle and unload truck at the destination, which if you think about it, it can really be a pain.

I've used movers to help me relocate in the past and they are just way overpriced.

With assurance as brokers I got something of every world. The only thing i'd look out for is the count of your items. One table or a couple of boxes and your move cost can go up substantially. So I recommend getting as accurate of measurements as possible.

My final verdict after dealing with assurance on a 3 bedroom move, is that they service you well to earn your business but it's up to you to make sure your items are packed properly and counted for properly.

I promised Mikey and Ralph I'd drop by to leave you my feedback on the wonderful job they did with my move. It's my first time moving long distance and didn't know what to expect from this really. Although I had seen all the positive things and even negative things about Assurance, the one thing that struck to me was the customer service.

My move was #M44-79917, it was for a 3 bedroom home, and partial office move which was basically quoted as a 4 bedroom home move, included was the packing. I had 3 packers come night prior pickup to get everything packed on boxes and leave furniture packed and dissembled. Truck arrived at 9:45ish and left my old place by 1:00 PM. The move took 7 days total, and it's all arrived in good conditions. When Mikey and Ralph arrived for the drop off, I wasn't home, so they waited for me for about 3 hours. From 5PM - 9PM, these guys worked furiously to get everything placed back at my new place where I told them to.

Great customer service, good price and great movers. Great work guys.

My family just relocated to Fort Lauderdale from Boston. This is the coldest season up in Boston and we wanted to be here in the warm before Christmas. We contacted Assurance Nov 22, booked our movers for the 1st, and everything just arrived yesterday 12/14 in great shape.

While we only moved a 2 bedroom apartment, the treatment and professionalism provided by assurance brokers and the moving company surpassed my expectations. We paid rather cheap and was definitely worth hiring them specially in this cold weather.

I encourage everyone to make their research into the company they're hiring, ask the right questions, understand your contracts and PACK YOUR THINGS PROPERLY! We didn't cut corners on this and bought the expensive boxes at home depot, and everything has made it through INTACT.

I hired assurance van lines to take care of my business relocation to Miami from Florida. As a recording engineer, I count on my tools and equipment to get the job done for our artists. I had my equipment packed in rental cases and literally just needed a truck with temperature control to carry out this move as I cannot have it be in temperatures on 20 degrees or below. I hired assurance on their promise and proposition that they could send me a temperature controlled wagon and get this down to Miami within 2 weeks. Sure enough, $4100 later and 2 weeks. I have everything up and running at our new location here in Miami.

I didn't spend time shopping around, I just felt like this was the right company from the get go. I'm very happy it all worked out and all my expensive equipment has made it here safe.
