I had a very disappointing experience with this moving company. First, they claimed everything was accounted for and that the move would be minimal and straightforward. However, I was blatantly lied to about additional charges—specifically the elevator fee and shrink wrap. Despite asking clear and specific questions, I was given false information, which I find completely unacceptable.

The movers themselves described the move as “very easy,” yet I was charged extra without any justification. The company’s lack of honesty and transparency is shocking. Additionally, the person who assisted me never returned my calls, showing a lack of professionalism and respect.

This experience has left me feeling taken advantage of and disgusted with their deceptive business practices. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and avoid this company. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them and plan to leave a detailed review to warn others about their unethical conduct.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! We have been moving with military 9 times through out the years and have never had issues!! Now that we hired this company ISSUE AFTER ISSUE AFTER ISSUE. Excuses about truck being broken, wanting to redo an estimate every chance they’ve talked to us on the phone, scammed us, took our money, and are refusing to give back our funds! They not only LIED AND TOOK OUR MONEY but also did not show up to pick up our goods!!!! 4 days late they finally sent a truck and the GUY WANTED AN ADDITIONAL 11k just to load up the truck when we were already quoted something else and have paid. This is THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Please please please GO ELSE WHERE. They are taking advantage of good people and scamming everyone out of money! Pieces of shit!!!! Everyone at that office is a manager supposedly, Vanessa, Linda, Nicole, Rick are all low lives and horrible evil people!! I wish you nothing but the worst! Scammers

I got in touch with Sean. He stated he could move my items for 2900 as a truck is leaving from Texas and has some space to accommodate. To convince me to sign up with them, he kept on repeating “we highly pride ourselves for providing the best customer care experience. We provide high quality service. Bla, bla, bla”. We settled for 2225 and I paid 984 as deposit. I was given 3 dates. 9/24, 9/25, 9/26.

No communication from the company and no one showed up. I was literally waiting from them all day. I called all their numbers. No response. Sean and this company’s irresponsible behavior had not only costed me money, but a lot of mental stress and threw my plans in a disarray. I sold my furnitures and shipped the rest through Greyhound. They promised me a refund, which I never received. It’s been 2 months. I called them maybe 70 times, not kidding. Either no one answers or they hang up on you.

I finally made a report to Federal trade commission. https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ It’s easy, I called this number, 877-382-4357 and made complaint over the phone. You can complain too. I will next report it to the state attorney general, and continue reporting to as many as govt agencies I can, until I get my money back. Here are the culprits & their phone numbers involved. Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

I agreed to a contract with Americas Family Movers, and provided a deposit after agreeing via email on a pickup date. No one called, and no one showed up. I called them multiple times and they insisted they were trying to get ahold of the driver. Turns out that they changed the contract we agreed to - and claimed their contract had a 3-day window for pickup (they later admitted it didn't) and couldn't even provide a driver for their own 3 day window!! When trying to talk to them about it, I was hung up on twice and promised a refund verbally, but they've yet to respond in writing.

This company is a bunch of crooks stole my Money,did not show up for the move,could not contact them by Phone or email. My Bank had to put a freeze on my account so these crooks couldn’t’ try to take more money from me. I am not the only person they scammed. Check them on Yelp they did the same to another person. I will continue to write these reviews and on public Face Book and my Bank is also involved investigating these crooks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY,LIARS AND CROOKS,PRAYING ON SENIOR widows.

They will take your deposit and when it gets close to the moving date you cannot get any information. We were on the phone with them 4 days, they will tell you someone will contact you about your move every day but no one did... Finally they gave me a day but not time. I was on the phone with dispatch all day asking them about time frame. Horrible experience no one can get a hold of the driver or that's what they keep telling me. Finally we waited all day but they never showed up and no one called us after that. . We could not wait any longer because we were flying out of state next day. Have to hire a UPS store and pay lots of money to get the things moved. When we filed a police report they said truck was dispatched but no other details and they REFUSED OUR DEPOSIT. I just saw a review by an employee about how horrible this company is and she said they are liars and cheaters. They did not reply to emails except saying we will not get our refund because we cancelled. This is exactly what they are doing to lots of people, and take your money and won't show up and refuse your refund.

I have a valid recorded call with their dispatch not knowing where the drive was, and they even agreed why I should not get a refund.

We gave them a complete inventory of what we would be moving across the country, but when the movers they hooked us up with arrived, they told us we had too much stuff. The movers put everything we owned out on the lawn and then said they could not fit it on the truck unless we paid another $3,000. This was way more than the "not to exceed" quote we received from America's Family Movers. We had no choice but to agree. When we told America's Family Movers, they basically said, "Oh, too bad." The movers also charged another $700 when they delivered a month later. Horrible experience! Go with an actual moving company, not a broker.

Lies, lack of communication, SLOPPY, LATE, I could go on and on and on. This was a simple move from NYC to Tennessee. It was more boxes than furniture. Kate Sanders was our contact person, but guess what? Once the project was in motion, Kate was nowhere to be found. Either this person had a crisis of conscience and left this filthy scam company, or the person never existed at all! My money is on the latter. We were told 5-10 business days from NY to TN. Try, 28 days. OH... and then came the up charging. SCAM SACAM SCAM SCAM! Vango Van Lines picked up my stuff in Queens. Yes, ALL OF THIS IS OUTSOURCED!! Vango Van Lines charged an extra 400.00 for 10 additional (Home Depot) small moving boxes. This was after I deleted a Loveseat, a bookcase, and a bedroom Media rack from the initial estimate. Apparently (10) small Home Depot boxes takes up SO MUCH MORE ROOM on the truck. Four weeks later when SOME TRUCK arrived in Tennessee, Vango insisted on charging me an additional 170.00 because we were a third floor walk-up...SOMETHING THAT WAS CLEARLY PRINTED ON THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT THAT MENTIONED NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR A THIRD FLOO WALK-UP! I talked them down to $100.00 which was wholly ridiculous, but my life - held hostage - was parked outside in a truck. I won't mention the amount of broken stuff that once was whole when it left my Queens, NY apartment. These people are filthy, dirty scammers that somehow elude the useless authorities and POINTLESS Better Business Bureau who should be monitoring this kind of thing. I had considered doing this whole move on my own, renting trucks and making a few trips. That plan was not cost-effective. In the end, the money that I thought I had saved was handed over to Crooks, Criminals and Liars!

America’s Family Movers operates within the broker model, additionally outsourcing and pooling their ‘customer support’ people which are utilized by many of these moving companies. When you call in to speak to your representative who professes he is your point of contact- in my case ‘Sean’-this gatekeeper customer service informs you that you are to speak to them only. This group of people are trained to antagonise you with set phrases that are not pertinent to why you called. The techniques are designed to intimidate, antagonize and are quite insulting. I contacted my bank immediately after such a conversation and created a chargeback. My bank was further successful with that chargeback.

Unfortunately, I ran into this model again with Empire Moving Group who is in the same geography. Again the estimator(Luca) professed he would be my point of contact, sure enough I was forwarded to the above pooled service group who used the divertive tactics. In an effort to be competitive EMG did not include packaging into my quote -so it was a problem when the movers arrived. Beware, this industry has the worst ethics and does not care what happens on the back end. Beware of the time frames quoted as well, each entity involved utilizes it to their advantage.
