Great.

Very pleased with their movers! Have had two recent clients, I'm a home and office organizer, who have moved with the excellent services from American Standard Moving and Storage. It's extremely important to me that I can refer my clients to reliable and professional services and these guys certainly has risen to the occasion each time. Their customer rep Jacob led a lovely, careful and respectful team. They were universally very receptive to my client's requests and concerns. Looking forward to sending more clients their way! They make my job a lot easier and I cannot thank them enough.

Amazing.

Blown away by this company!! I’m late with this review but is needed! Brian Sanchez fit us in right away for an estimate and managed to schedule our move during the Fourth of July weekend.. Which was amazing because we gave no notice. We moved into a 4000 sq foot home, my movers handled all of our solid wood oversized furniture without a hitch! They were there bright an early, 8 on the dot as expected, after giving us a call that they were on the way. Super friendly and professional movers. I was very impressed with how they wrapped each piece with padded blankets, plastic and tape. They put blankets down to protect our carpet as well. They worked quickly and efficiently, I never saw anyone loitering, taking smoke breaks or taking a long time to put furniture together. So glad we took our realtor’s recommendation with this American Standard Moving! We asked If they would be able to move all the items from our attic, that we forgot to show Robbie during the estimate meeting. They made sure to let us know the per hour cost beforehand so there were no surprises with the total cost. The estimate plus the added time were spot on. No unexpected amounts like I read reviews about happening on some other moving companies. Thank you guys so much!! Very happy to be in our new home with the furniture all in place :).

American Standard Moving and Storage a Terrible moving company.

Crooks,, Theives! Unprofessional Moving/ Brokerge company should be investigated. They are stealing so much money from so many people by trapping them and putting people in a position by quoting little better price estimate than the competing movers. Then have you pay them about a third of what they estimate as a deposit. In my case around $850.00.
We moved to a different community about 185 miles, 220 miles the long way.
The day the moving truck showed up 2 days later than they committed to. I took 2 day off work to make the move turn into 4 days I had to take off.
They said they had a move in South Dakota and had unexpected delays. Moving day a rented 26 foot U haul truck they rented pulls up with 3 men.
I didn’t expect a U haul truck to pull up. I greet the men when they pull up to our home we are moving from. One of the men spoke some broken English the other two did not speak any English. As I was showing the man that spoke some English through our house and our belongings, I asked him where they were all originally from the lead man said they were all from Croatia.
The two other older men started to carry our things to the rented 26 foot U haul truck. The lead man had a clip board he said for counting , inspecting
and identifying our belongings. The lead man asked me for another $1000..00 so now they have around $1800.00 of my money. I noticed they did not blanket wrap any of our nice 3 or 4 month old furniture like the representative said they would. I asked the lead man why isn’t I blanket wrapped he said it was I just couldn’t see it. I couldn’t see it be cause they didn’t blanket wrap anything.
They loaded as much as the rented U haul truck but didn’t get all of our belonging on the truck. They clearly could not read the word fragile that was written on all sides of the boxes. They needed about 5 more feet of truck to get the rest of our belongings on the truck so I had no choice at this point but to say go with it and I’ll have to figure a way to get the rest in my own. They went to weigh the truck someplace. As were driving to meet them at the home we were moving to I receive a phone call from American Standard Moving and Storage representative and they told me how much I was to pay when they drop off our belongings at our new home. The lady from American Standard Moving told me to have a cashiers check or cash in the amount of approximately $4200.00 when they deliver our household belongings. My wife and I were appalled and devastated when we were told this is the amount we need to give them to receive our belongings. The original estimate they gave me to move our 3 bedroom home was about $2900..00.
Now the total amount for this move is up to over $6000..00 The representative told me we had much more weight than they originally figured. Any weight over the estimated weight I will be charged $1.26 per pound. Piss poor estimate American Standard yea I know it was a couple thousand pounds heavier than you estimated. I am in the Trucking business and have been for over 40 years and $6000.00 for 12 hours total time for this move. Our $250,000 tractor trailers with a professional driver earn about $1500.00 gross revenue per day. and haul 52000 lbs of freight. You at American Standard Moving rent a 26 foot U haul for my guess would be less than $1000.00 per week hire three men my guess would be I’m sure on the very high side and I know you don’t pay them $300.00 per day. 3 men not professional movers x $300 = $900.00 plus your rented 26 foot U haul even if it was a $1000 per day (not) would be a cost of $1900.00. So your gross profit for the 12 hours is $4100.00. We had so much damage to our things. Crushed and broken like , my deceased mothers antique crystal, broken pictures an frames broke our new washer and dryer scratched. Less than 6 month old furniture scratched badly.
You put my family and me though so much stress and hardship.
I’m certain any positive reviews that are posted can’t be true.

Unreliable and Unprofessionally Run.

Absolute joke of a company and complete waste of our money. My husband contacted ASMS over a month ago to schedule a cross-country move (3-4 day drive for us, so understandably not simplest relocation). Before he placed a deposit he was told it was estimated to be 5-9 days from when our belongings were picked up to when they arrived at our new home. When he was in contact again (before moving day) he was told it could take up to 21 days or we were to get a refund. It has now been 18 days since our home was packed up and our furniture, clothing, cookware - everything that did not fit in 2 cars - is still not with us. What is much more aggravating and disappointing than the incredible lag in having our items (we have been in our new *empty* home for 13 days sleeping on an air mattress and sitting on lawn chairs) is the complete lack of transparency and poor customer service. Before the movers even arrived we had trouble getting in contact with the company to confirm the day they would be here as they did not call when we were told (he called 2 representatives and customer service, and did not get a return phone call until he called again the next day - the scheduled move). A detail I was unaware of is the fact that our things were packed into a truck, driven 3 hours away, and then placed in storage until another driver picked them up - meaning double the liability with moving and possibly damaging our things. After day 7 my husband called to ask for an update to find out if our things had even left yet, and could not get through to anyone initially, then received a call from a rep who said they had no estimate or tracking. No tracking? We couldn't even find out if they had started their journey? The next day he received a call that we should expect our things in 5-7 days and we could expect a call 2 days in advance to plan for movers (meaning, yes, they had not left the facility where they were taken after pickup). 2 days ago my husband received a call from a driver (he had yet to speak to this person) informing him he would arrive between 5-7 the next day. A bit of relief. 4:30 yesterday hits and my husband receives a call from the driver saying he would be here at 10 pm, to which of course my husband said would not be happening (we moved an entire box truck - this would not be a 60 minute ordeal and he works at 7 am, not to mention neighbors). The driver said 8 am the next day, and texted my husband asking for our address?? It is now past 9 am on day 18 and there are no movers here, and I have yet to receive a phone call or email back from customer service. I'm shocked at how poorly this operation has been run, mostly due to the lack of transparency and the failure to ever remain in contact with us. Our experience with ASMS was an unforgettable experience in the worst way, and I feel obliged to encourage as many people as possible not to utilize this company for any type of move.

American Standard Moving - Don't trust them, Corwin and Debby Holtz.

If we could give negative stars we would. We were looking to have a few personal items moved from a vacation home outside of Lake Tahoe, CA to our home in upstate NY. We called ASM and were given a reasonable quote. During our pick-up window in May, we received a phone call that the truck was full and they would not be able to pick up our load. We were assured by ASM that they were so very sorry and wanted to keep our business to the point that they would give us a discount on a rescheduled move. We then sold the house with a closing date of 7/26 we re-scheduled the load for a two day pick-up window of 7/19 or 7/20. On 7/18 we received a call and were told that their truck was broke down and that we would not be able to be picked up. We couldn't believe that they only had one truck available in the state of CA. No, they couldn't accommodate us because we were in the "boonies". Hard to understand their adjective of "boonies" when the house is 2 miles south of Interstate 80. Considering this is the second time ASM has cancelled, we now have a rental van and will do the move ourselves. The cancellations have put us in the position of not only incurring substantial additional expense but one of us will have to drive solo from Soda Springs, CA to New York. Anyway, just hoping we get our $701 deposit back.

They are just brokers / pimp.

They have picked up my stuff in June and I had given them a confirmed date of delivery but when I called them to confirm delivery date and time , they had started giving me excuses everyday and finally after 3-4 days , they told me that another moving company is going to call me to confirm the date. They rudely told me to refer the contract that they do not garuntee dates as they are just the coordinators. Avoid them as they are just brokers. Go directly to real moving companies.

Decent.

So it's always a relief when your movers show up on time. On the day of the move, American Standard Moving reached out to me to let me know that they were on their way. The movers showed up on time, were courteous, careful with our furniture, and extremely efficient. With such short notice, they managed Hoboken parking, wrapped all the furniture neatly and professionally. Once they got moving, everything was done carefully and efficiently. Absolutely no complaint at all with their movers - I will definitely be using their services for all future moves and will be recommending them to my friends and coworkers! Handled all my belongings with the utmost care and took my stress level down immensely! Deliver took a bit longer than expected but they made up with the level of service. They were diligent and competent with their time, and I would book them again for the next move I will do. Much appreciated guys keep up the superb work! You guys rocked it. So many many thanks!!

From the initial phone call we described everything we could actually expect to have before and after the transfer. I became extremely joyful about that relocating morning. American Standard was great!! As soon as the men arrived, they got the properties loaded up and able to transfer in a very little time frame. The pickup was smooth and simple, they stuck in touch with me and when the delivery morning arrived they organize each of our pieces of furniture in the areas we selected. Absolutely nothing was basically damaged or even shattered. I can mention that the prices were reasonable and also the service was excellent. I am delighted and would often inform people concerning the company. I would reccomend them for your move! Great service!

Horrific Experience - Stay Away.

HORRIFIC experience, do NOT use them!!

After speaking to the sales person and walking through all the furniture we own, move details, etc. we were assured there was 0% chance our move would cost more then $3,500, and we were provided the payment details and schedule. American called again a week before the move date to again review what we were moving. Surprise! the actual movers came out and promptly told us we were woefully misquoted and our move would cost $6,000. American had not even provided the movers with the updated list of what we needed to move, which is what they base the space needed in the truck off of. I immediately called American where the customer service team was horrendous, rude, and zero help. There response was basically "we didn't quote you wrong" and "well you must have lied about what you own" "we did nothing wrong" which doesn't even make an logical sense. The customer service rep even argued with the lead mover onsite on speaker phone. The actual movers (which were subcontracted) were lovely people and super helpful. At this point we were stuck, as the movers were already there and we had to get our stuff across the country, so we had to pay the $6k. So much for promising under 3.5k, what a joke.

I beg you, DO NOT USE THEM. They subcontract the work anyways, so find a small moving company that will just work with you directly the entire time.

I wish there was an option for zero stars.

I wish there was an option to add no star as even a star is a huge compliment for this company. Avoid it at all costs. They cheated us on the inventory, lied to us about delivery and charged us extra.MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INVENTORY THEY PUT IN YOUR CONTRACT. We had to dump half our things and the moved ended up costing us lots lots more.
My story is as follows:
My sister with her one year old was moving as alone from Syracuse to Tennessee to join her husband. I travelled from Europe to help her. A day before our move, our original company from Memphis cancelled and said that their truck had broken down.Our flights were already booked and were non refundable.We decided to look for a mover who could get to us the next day in Syracuse to pick up our things. We found one and the gentleman was very nice, however he was clear that we would be looking at 5 days to receive our belongings. He did a detailed inventory and was super honest with us about the delivery time. He also warned us that whoever promises to deliver earlier would be lying. The gentleman quoted us $3100 with delivery in 5 working days.
As our new place in Tennessee was unfurnished and we had children, we decided to contact American standard to ask if they can get our belongings delivered earlier. I got through to a Mr. Austin,explained our situation and that I wanted know if they can deliver earlier to TN. He told me that they can do 500 miles a day and as our destination was around a 1000, it can be done very early. I was ecstatic and thought this would be ideal. Then he said that he would transfer me to someone, who can get details and give me a quote. I spoke to a Mr. Brad, who heard my concerns, appeared helpful and asked us to email him the inventory that my previous quote from the company was based on. I emailed it and he came back with a quote of $3599. I thought that as they are getting the belongings in so early it’s fine to pay the extra amount. He even said that this is final amount and you won’t pay a cent more. He said that I will base the contract on this inventory. lo and behold, the contract was instantly sent and we were told to sign it urgently electronically (whilst on phone with him) so that the movers can be sent out that very instance. As we were in a hurry to get the mover in and believed what he said, we signed the contract.
Next day, the mover came. The minute he walked in, he started complaining about the boxes. We said the size is listed on the inventory. He read it and went quite. Then he started complaining about every little thing we had. Then came the big shock that our 6 seater sofa was not included in the inventory. we couldn’t believe it and called the company. The customer service was extremely rude and said they understand our situation and despite us sending them a detailed inventory, it’s our fault that we signed the contract.
The company that was picking up was a subcontractor and charged us an extra $600 and we had to leave half our things behind and dump them.
We thought this was it.. however, we are still waiting for our things to drive. Our belongings were picked up on Friday and it’s Wednesday now and the delivery has not even been scheduled as yet. I called their customer service and was told they can only offer me $200 compensation and I can get delivery updates from the partner. They refused to acknowledged their fault and kept on blaming us for signing the contract.They did not put me through to anyone I spoke to earlier and said they were not in the office or busy on another line.
I refused the compensation they offered for $200 as this amount was a slap in my face for all they put us through. So in summary, this company cost me $4200, which was $1100 more than the quotes I had, they had me dump over thousand dollars worth belongings, children toys and things of sentimental value, gave us intense anxiety and despite it being over 4 working days, we still have no delivery date. Please avoid at all costs!
