SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company is a joke!!! Whatever you do DO NOT USE them. They ruined my bedroom, dining and office along with laptop and printer and offered $81 through insurance. DISGUSTING!!! Jacob came across as so nice when he took my money and they movers were 5 hours late to pick up and 2 hours early to drop off. WORST experience ever and cannot get a hold of anyone. This is why we pay for insurance.

Very Unreliable and Trust Worthy

I do know why people in the moving industry do not know how to size out furniture! This is not rocket science. They under estimated the materials, there 3rd party vendors are UNREAL! This has to be the most horrible services, I am not sure why they need to do this, people will pay the amount quoted, but to scam someone for their belongings, is down right LOW! We are all going thru difficult times and this company does not care! They will rip you off, they have no morals or care. The customer rep. department is like talking to a secretary from the 80's: Don't waste your time. They put you on hold all day during the move! Hope you find a good moving company but they are all just as bad! I has to be the industry, they have to compete with each other and the consumer is the prey!!!!!!

Avoid at all costs!

I would not recommend this company. The communication is horrible. The actual cost of the move was twice what they quoted me and when I found this out, all of my belonging were already loaded onto the truck (which they did not finish loading until nearly 2AM). They owe me a refund which I have not gotten despite calling and emailing. Please avoid the hassle!

Long-distance move from Woodbridge, NJ to Olympia, WA

Paid $6,500 for a deposit for a move. I need to hire FEDERAL ATTORNEY

I paid a deposit(thousands) in October for a 423 items move (They created the contract). I live in New Jersey. They are located in Boca Raton, Florida. The move was to my other house in the state of Washington. We (me and American Standard) kept in touch, both myself and my attorney. The first move was scheduled for August 05, 2020. I even got a Welcome to your first Move letter a couple days before WHICH THEY SINCE DELETED. BUT I made copies of it BEFORE THEY DELETED IT and it's in my hard drive, as well as friends of mine hard drive. They had Abraham Movers call me the day before August 05, 2020. He asked me if we could reschedule my move because it was not a good day for him. I said that he could reschedule for November 2020 if he liked, otherwise it had to be for that day because my animals were picked up, and I bought my ticket so I could be there for them. So Abraham, from Abraham Movers, the company that American Standard scheduled for me said that's okay I'll be there between 7 and 8 a.m. I didn't here from them and kept calling. Hours later they called back, after calling both American Standard Moving and Storage and Abraham Movers. He told me to meet him at Treasure Island, where many of my boxes were, in the same town. We waited over an hour and a half and called him a few more times. Eventually he called back and said to go home and meet him there in a couple more hours. We did. They were closed.

So they came to my house and asked which item should he take first, I said the piano. He said he couldn't take the piano because he didn't bring the right equipment to move the piano. I called American Standard M & S and they said he could get something, it's only a half hour away. Then Abraham, I believe, said he was not going to move the piano. My kids made it easier for them by putting some of my furniture outside. Abraham (that is how he identified himself) said I had too much stuff. He said I would have to pay him an extra $300 for each piece, then changing it to, $300 for each piece that had glass. He eventually said $80 for each piece that had glass. I verbally agreed. Then he went outside, it was getting dark, we set up special outdoor lights. Then he, Abraham, went on to call American Standard. He told them I had LARGE ANIMALS in my yard. I spoke to American Standard and assured them my animals were all taken the previous day and there were no animals in my yard. Then Abraham called American Standard and told them I had metal animals in my yard. THEY WERE ON MY CONTRACT that AMERICAN STANDARD WROTE, almost in detail. Then the girl I spoke to, whose name I have written down in my complaint said there is a storm in Florida, that I am bothering her, that she is working overtime and WHY DON'T I DO MYSELF A FAVOR AND THROW OUT ALL MY JUNK. She said that this is a 30 thousand to 40 thousand dollar move ALTHOUGH AMERICAN STANDARD is the one who wrote out my quote for the $15,830.00 for 423 pieces. Also Abraham from Abraham Movers said he wanted me to sign something, which I refused because I did not want to negate my contract, and he would NOT TAKE VISA and wanted $9000 CASH to move ONLY THE BOXES IN MY GARAGE . There was all kinds of furniture including curios, doctor scale, penny scales, dressers. Can't get into it all here. If you are foolish enough to use them use a REAL CREDIT CARD. Do not use a debit card. I spent money on a regular lawyer. They just informed her today they are not paying my anything.I believe they are committing a federal CRIME. Another moving company just went to jail from FLORIDA. Now I have to take this to FEDERAL COURT. There is no way I am letting this go. I have to pay tons in storage fees. Had to buy minimal furniture just to live. I have to live through this every day. I spoke to FLORIDA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. I spoke to the FEDERAL COURT. I am in the process of getting a new lawyer that practices in Federal court.

STAY AWAY! EXTORTION COMPANY

1 bedroom condo. Quoted decent price. Accepted. 2 days before they upped the amount from $1800 to $2800. Promised they were not selling it off to 3rd party movers. Sold it to Map Express who showed up 3 hours before I needed to be out of my house as escrow had closed. Was told by movers I needed to give them an extra cashiers check for another $2800 or they would leave all my items for trash to take. Forced me to go to bank to get the money or follow through on threat. I drove to bank and got the money. After pick up I have yet to see my items again. Starting a class action lawsuit.

Would give 0 stars if possible. This has been the absolute worst company I have ever worked with.My stuff is extremely and I am unable to get ahold of anyone via email or phone. I try calling daily and I get sent to voicemail and then am unable to leave a voicemail because the box if full. The employee who originally made my contract blew up my phone hourly at inappropriate time and until my payment was made and now I cannot get ahold of him for weeks. His name is Joseph Stella.

Moving from Indian to Georgia

1. Mr Nice guy. I spoke with Jason very nice, initially who gave me a quote of 1606. Paid through American standard, although he sent me reviews of 5 star from Van lines a partner i assume. I put down a deposit and was excited about my move. I called him about 3 weeks later to speak about the specific date, I left him a message as he didn't answer my call. I called later that day, he rushed me off of the phone. Nothing like the first call.

2. Then got a call from a second person, Scott, who then quoted me $900 more than I was quoted before. Where Jason spoke in pounds, Scott spoke in quantity. For example. Jason Explained the pounds of a queen bedrooms, where Scott broke it into pieces. I just started selling stuff because I couldn't afford it. We came to an agreement of $1809.

3. The day of the move, the moving men came in, boxing stuff up which was part of the quote. They started charging me $50 per box for each painting, I had about 20. I left some out because it was just too much. I even asked if I can box them myself, he told me no, it wouldn't be insured. I said I'm not worried qbout them being insured at this point I just need to move. He said he couldn't let me box it myself. I was forced to pay and obscene amount of money for stuff that was worth the $50 dollar box. I had to pay $1100 dollars more than Scott. Which was paid to on your way Inc.. I just feel ripped off and taken advantage of.

I literally told them I had mirrors and paintings and never did anyone say anything about additional charges, $50 per box. I have friends who are moving out if state as well. I will never refer this company. Its a rip off, the people who came to move was another company called Way to go Inc.

DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS

This is a broker, do not use a broker, they do not do anything but take your money and disappear and leave you with a crook of a moving company. They low balled our estimate, even though I gave an average of in person estimates, they do not use movers who weigh your items but upsell on cubic feet when they get to your house. Once booked and paid they want nothing to do with you. We waited the day of our move and no one showed, we called and the mover said American Standard did not pay them so no one was coming. American Standard booked our move with Western Van Lines the next day after their quarrel with the other mover, little did we know Western Van Lines would become the worse nightmare of our lives, but I'll save that for their review. During the whole move American Standard literally did NOTHING for the $3,000 we paid them but set us up with crooks. If you use these guys, trust me and others, you will end up paying MORE than the higher estimates from good movers, DO NOT TRY AND SAVE MONEY WITH THEM.

Long-distance move from Wilmington, NC to Webster, MA

Unforseen fees & 3rd party movers

Our move with American Standard was a nightmare from start to finish. It seemed like a really great quite with great insurance in the beginning, but then they kept upping the price as the move date got closer because they "underquoted us" despite the fact that I gave them the size of our storage unit and told them it was full. Upon picking up in NC, they called me twice to up the price yet again, the second time was to charge us for boxes that we didn't ask for, only after my boyfriend refused to tip the rude drivers the amount of money they were asking via Venmo. He did tip them a little in cash, but demanding a tip on Venmo after unprofessional service was just unreal. Next came the call from the 3rd party company asking for my 2nd payment of 3 via Venmo or CashApp since my boyfriend didn't bring cash to pay the movers. WHAT?! Bear in mind, the initial deposit was fine via credit card over the phone, so this was a complete surprise. If my dad hadn't helped me pay, we wouldn't have had the capital at that time to make the move and we would have been out the ~$500 deposit. I wasn't sure which storage unit exactly I would be sending our stuff to in MA, so their offer to hold our stuff for 30 days for free seemed fine. We then tried to ask for a date before the end of those 30 days and they almost wouldn't let us, which would have charged us even more money! We changed the address to 2 miles outside of the 30 mile radius from the storage unit because it turned out the basement of our apartment had enough storage after all, and they charged us a penalty on that. Then came the day of the drop off. I confirmed the time the day before, and they told me that the driver would call me the day of to reconfirm the time. I left early from work with plenty of time based on the time that they had quoted me, while I'm driving, I get a call from my boyfriend saying that we were going to be charged a late fee if I wasn't there in 20 minutes. The driver never called me and it was way before the time we had agreed on. I was furious. Finally got there to meet the truck, and they have apparently found it sufficient to only send one driver and NO HELPER to move our heavy stuff. So the driver (who was actually pretty nice, much nicer than the guys who picked up) had me sign the paperwork, I asked him how much the weight was since there was a calculation of $0.60 per pound of insurance, he said he didn't know. So I "guessed" and put down $20,000, which was the insurance that the guy on the phone had initially told me. The driver basically just lifted the stuff down from the truck, which didn't have a ramp and was graffitied on the side, and my boyfriend and my 65 year old father moved all of the heavy stuff since the guy didn't have a helper. There was a huge scratch on my headboard and dents on my dresser. They never reimbursed me for anything. Also worth mentioning, none of the movers wore masks at all, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Avoid these crooks like the plague!

SCAM - RUN AWAY

RUN AWAY - SCAM COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS! I booked with them several months ago and normally I check reviews first, but was sucked in to their very low rates and, seemingly good opportunity. After I booked I saw all the horrific reviews and felt I fell for a Scam. I then placed a dispute on my credit card deposit since I also could not locate my receipt after I booked with them. I finally received a confirmation from Cardinal Van Lines stating that the move was still on and that they are not a scam. Thus, just after an hour of placing the credit card dispute, I reversed my dispute. I received the letter from my credit card company showing that the dispute was resolved, and forwarded the letter to Cardinal (or American Standard as they told me they were Cardinal, but when Cardinal contacted me as you will see below, they then said they were American....so who knows what is the truth).

They acknowledged receipt of the letter and did see my screen shot in my bank account showing that they were rebilled and confirmed the move was still on. Just yesterday, a few days before the actual move was scheduled (and about a month and a half since the original dispute), they contacted me saying that I needed to wire them the money because they had been trying to contact my bank and get the rebilled money, but to no avail, and that in order to prevent my move from being cancelled I had to WIRE or ZELLE them the money. I pushed back and said I had already been rebilled for it and that I show it was already paid. They said they could no longer accept the letter and screen shot of my payment as being acceptable, and the girl became extremely pushy, claiming they never got the money. She kept saying that they had tried over and over to collect from my credit card company, but they never responded and that they had until the end of THAT day to respond to the original dispute, or they lose the money. I asked them why they waited so long to get a hold of me to try to resolve this and waited only on the final 45th day to then call me and pressure me that I had to wire them money now? All she kept saying is that they were trying to work with my credit card company, but after days and days of trying to contact them, they were never successful in getting the money. Therefore, the only way to resolve the issue and prevent my move from being cancelled was for me to WIRE them the money.

This was sounding very suspect to me, so I pushed back telling them it made no sense since the money has already been rebilled, I sent them the screen shot showing that they were paid, and why were they pushing me to send them money via WIRE and not asking for me to just use a credit card again? I then informed them that I was on vacation with my family standing in line to DOLLYWOOD and would not be able to send them any money at that moment. The girl then said I could get the ZELLE App on my phone and send them money. I told her I was not able to do this at that moment as I'm with my family on vacation. Within minutes, I received an email stating they cancelled my move and that the only way to reschedule was to send them money.

So, while at Dollywood, trying to enjoy my vacation, I contacted my credit card company immediately regarding the issue. They reviewed the entire situation and said that they show that there had been NO COMMUNICATION from them to claim the money that has been sitting there for 45 days. She explained that when a dispute is put in and then cancelled and rebilled, the company has up to 45 days to claim the money. Since it seems they didn't claim the money in time, they were pressuring me to send them the money. However, they also said it sounded suspect since all they had to do by the end of THAT DAY, was go in and claim the money which has been sitting there for some time. It would only take minutes, yet they never claimed it. Thus, for them to pressure me in WIRING them money that day, screamed SCAM to them as well. They also agreed that they could have taken another credit card payment, instead of Zelle or Wire. Thus, we put a dispute on that payment as we agreed it screamed fraud.

When I emailed the company back to let them know that the credit card company shows NO INDICATION that they tried to communicate with them or even claim the money, all they said back was that they were going to dispute my dispute unless I wire them the money. She also said that they would let my credit card company know that I CANCELLED THE MOVE AND THEREFORE THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO KEEP MY DEPOSIT! I told them that I DID NOT cancel my move, they cancelled, and that my bank has all the information in their records showing that their company DID NOT CLAIM the money in 45 days, that their company had NO COMMUNICATION with my bank whatsoever. Thus, they were going to have a tough time fighting that dispute. Since then, I haven't heard from them. THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!

Local move within California

Unethical unreliable deceivers

This is a broker not a moving company. They hired Brooklyn Moving Inc to do our moving from Edina, Minnesota to Boulder Creek, California. The movers arrived at 7:30 PM and worked until 3 AM. Their final moving bill was outrageously higher than their original quote. They unpacked our furniture from 6:00 PM until midnight. We had no lamps in our new home because they were packed. So they unpacked in the dark. We contracted to have some furniture reassembled, which they did not do as they did not bring tools. They lost much of our belongings. The furniture that did arrive was broken. When we tried to settle with their insurance company, they claimed our paperwork was not properly filled out, which was the paperwork the movers completed. The movers told us to just take pictures of the damaged furniture and submit that as evidence. However, the insurance company did not accept the pictures. Check the Better Business Bureau website to see more stories similar to ours.

Long-distance move from Spearfish, SD to Bremerton, WA

I would give this company a zero if I could

This company lied to us so bad it’s embarrassing on our end. I am writing this because I don’t want it to happen to others. When we first spoke it sounded like we were getting a great deal to move our 600sq apartment from SD to WA. It ended up turning into a nightmare and we paid 3x what they quoted us. We had had in our contract that the people would come pack our boxes and load our furniture. We paid extra to have our boxes packed for us. Instead only one guy came and we had to help him pack everything. He kept saying someone else was supposed to show up but they didn’t. Same thing happened when they dropped off the stuff. When we called American standard moving headquarters they did nothing to help us and said we had to contact the driving company. We understand now that they hire out companies and why we had to reach out to the driving company. But American standard moving should not be giving quotes at all when they are so inaccurate and then when you use the contract to back you up they don’t follow through with it. Even the moving guys said this happens ALL OF THE TIME when clients use a separate company to hire them. I guess you live and learn. But we will not be using American standard moving or any other contract for hire moving companies in the future. Time money and sanity were lost during this endeavor.

Long-distance move from Chula Vista, CA to Buckeye, AZ

Fraud company do not use

We hired this company back in January 2021 to move us from California to Arizona. Based on all our quotes they were the most affordable, this should have been a red flag. Considering the initial quote was 3k to move us from a little less than 1500 sq ft town home. At the time of the initial quote we were never advised that they outsource or hire smaller moving companies to actually do the physical work and that we would be dealing with other companies period. We were told our initial deposit of 1100 would not be refundable. A week prior to the move the company would reach out for the final quote. They never called… we called them and guess what the quote changed to 5k and they collected an additional 1500 from us. They told us a scheduler would call to set up the pick time with us a day prior to the move. No one called, we were calling the 1800 number endlessly the day prior to the move, no one picked up our call. we panicked and set up a uhaul as back up.

The day of the move came and someone called us from an evergreen moving company saying they were 30 minutes away. Upon their arrival they arrived with a 26 ft truck, they told us they would quote us yet again and they told us now

We would need to pay 9k in addition to what was already collected!!! They said their quote was based on cubic feet when American standard movers and storage said it was based on weight and our quote of 5k would be for a 26 ft truck and we would not have to pay much more after that final quote was given. The moving company they had come to see us told us we could only use half of the truck and our items would arrive a week after the move!!! We had to refuse, we

Could not afford to pay an additional

9k!!!And they already had 2600 of

Our money.

We paid uhaul over 1k for a full 26 ft truck and moved ourselves. This experience has been the worst ever! We attempted to ask for our money back and we’re refused and treated poorly. I am not sure how a company like this is still in business low balling customers just to turn around and over charge them and misrepresent pricing and exactly how their service arrangements would be handled. unresponsive to customer Calls and lack of follow through and customer service. The experience has been appalling and sickening. Having a customer contract in place is only as good as them delivering on their word and service retaining deposits for performing no service is completely unacceptable.

Long-distance move from Elmira, NY to Honor, MI

Do not use American Standard Movers

We have been dealing with this move crew for 7 weeks now and still do not have our stuff in our new home. We are trying to move from New York to Michigan. They were supposed to pick up our things on June 16th. We were notified on June 16th that the truck had broke down and would be 2 days late. We did not complain about this. I asked the dispatcher if there was extra room on the truck if we could add some things that were not on the original list I sent and she said sure no problem as long as there is room and we could pay for it. The driver of the truck was supposed to call when they were an hour away. They did not call until they were in the driveway. When we told them we had been told by the dispatcher that it was ok to add more stuff the driver was very rude and was extremely hard to work with. His english was so broken we could barely understand him. They told us we could not add anything. He finally called someone and then decided they would take what they could. We asked them to take what was on the original list and then we would add what we could. The driver told us that is not how it works and they would take what they wanted. After getting what they wanted outside of the house next to the truck they decided to go get something to eat. They left our things on the sidewalk for over half an hour while they were gone. They also charged us for wrapping things that we said we didn't need wrapped. Again we were told this is how we are going to do it and we had no say in the matter. Once the truck was loaded with what they wanted to load the price went from $6000 to $12,000. I called the Tri-State Movers to talk to the drivers boss and he was even more rude than the driver and would not let me talk. He talked over me the whole time and I finally hung up. I tried to contact the company that brokered this deal American Standard Moving and no one would return my calls. When someone finally agreed to speak with me we were forced to put our things in storage for 30 days. Now it has been 40 days and we still don't have our stuff. We were told it would be here the 2nd week of July. Then we were told it would be early the next week. Then we were told it would be this weekend. The weekend has passed and we do not have our stuff, no one has called with an update and no one will answer my calls. I have left numerous messages on the customer service line with no response. We are at a total loss as what we can do to get our things? I have told them several times I have the money to pay even though they doubled the price and still no delivery. This has been a difficult time for us with no help from the movers. And at this point I am losing money at work because I am dealing with this.
