Do Not Use!!

We are using these guys and when we were told that it would be here in a few days after pick up on the phone and that is not the case when I have called they are rude and not helpful, when they pick up the items they told my mom that she did not have to pay and then the office said it was wrong we needed to send payment they will not take payment over the phone or via electric wire just cashiers check very weird in this age where everyone takes CC payment. I ask for a supervisor would not transfer me to one. we now can't do nothing about it and have to wait to see when they feel like Delivering the items.. THEY TELL YOU SOMETHING OVER THE PHONE AND IN CONTRACT THEY PUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. DO NOT USE.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

SCAM Don't use this company!!

Don't believe a word they say from the start. Our sales person gave us a quote of 3,000 dollars for moving from MN to FL wich ended up costing 9, 000$!

That was not the worst part. The movers promised they would pick our stuff up by June 25th so everything was out by June 26th the date our buyers were moving in. They did not show up until 11:30 pm on June 25th and were not finished until 6 in the morning the day of closing leaving no time to clean for the new owners of our house. This made for a very stressful situation.

The worst part of the situation is our sales person told us there would be no problem getting our stuff delivered by June 30th to our new house in Florida. When the moving company picked up our stuff, they said it would be 10-21 buisness days until they could start delivering. That was never told to us . I would have never used this company if we new it would take that long. We are currently on week 2 in FL with literally nothing to live on/ beds/ couches/ things needed for work. We have heard no word on when we are getting our stuff and when I call we are told they are working on the schedule but are very backed up so they don't know when it will happen. This is such a hard thing for our family to go through, living on the other side of the country not knowing anyone and having nothing. I don't want anyone else to go through what we have so DO NOT USE AMERICAN STANDARDS for moving!

The worse customer service.

American Standard did NOT move my items. They are a broker with horrible customer service. They quoted me a certain amount but ended up actually charging me $500 more than the quote. The rep William Jameson claimed that this would never happen at his company. Scott was another rep who was extremely rude and refused to let me speak with a mgr. I reached out to a mgr who only contacted me by email to let me know it was best to communicate with her by email, only to never answer my questions or address my issues. Luckily the company US Movers who actually moved my items were much better at customer service. William Jameson gave me his email, and direct number and informed me to contact him for and concerns. He never responded to my emails, text or messages. Once I paid my $500 deposit, that is when American Standard showed who they really are. If the Operations Director Christina Reed treated people like this, I guess I understand why the rest of the employees are so rude and lack customer service. If I could go back, I would’ve never spoken with these crooks. Do yourself a favor and choose a different moving company. Avoid brokers altogether and contact US movers directly.

Horrible Experience!

They are not a moving company. They are a brokerage, which means they subcontract your move to a third party. They drastically underestimate your cost to move to get your business. They communicate in terms of cost per weight (which sounds great), but then charge per cubic feet, so you owe A LOT of money at the time of the move. REPEAT, YOU WILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY AT THE TIME OF THE MOVE. Also, I didn't know when they were loading my belongings until the day before the move and they have up until 5 days to actually move your belongings. Ultimately, the final cost was on par with other moving companies, but the inconvenience and deceitfulness is not worth the hassle.

Horrible ! Dont Use ! They Lie! They are Brokers Not Movers.

This company is not the actual movers. They are a broker. They lied to me and said they were the moving company, then sub contracted to another company that I did not research. Was the most horrible experience. Movers did not show up till 1:00 in the Am. I was promised I would have my stuff from CA to NY in 2 to 3 weeks. Did not receive for until Two months later. I was promised I would be able to speak to the guy I booked during my whole moving experience. "William and Jason" both gave me there cell number and emails. I was texting and emailing when I was in desperate situation and no one ever answered or responded to this day. I am putting a claim in to better business bureau and consumer affairs. You go with your gut to trust people and than they screw you.. And when I finial received my belongings My 50” TV screen was smashed, my microwave glass was shattered and my Large Cat tree was destroyed…Terrible.

They will hold your money with no service.

This company gave me a quote over the phone for my mom who was moving from Miami to Tennessee. When the driver came he wanted to charge an extra 600.00 because the box where larger and we were not asked for the size of the box. Customer service would not help and they held my down payment with no service. I am going to write a letter to the better business bureau.

The absolute most horrible experience!

Never, ever use this company. We had no idea where our furniture was for weeks, and no one would answer the phone at the office to tell us where it was and when it would arrive. We called the office, from a phone that was an unfamiliar number to them, and they answered.

I was kept on hold for 20 minutes and then they disconnected.

We had an up charge on both ends of the move. $2000 more at pickup, and a month later,$2000 on delivery.

Please stay away! Scam artist!

Worst Moving Experience- bait&switch.

This company misrepresented the services that would be provided and after receiving a very detailed inventory of our move over the phone the representative, Mitch, assured that our move would take place on 8/14/20. We were told that date would t be an issue and placed a deposit on the move of $5,250.

Mitch stated this price was due to the short notice and we would pay the balance on the day of moving. They later called to confirm the move for the 14th. A couple hours later I received a call confirming for the 15th. I told them this was incorrect and the dispatcher made a huge deal of having to accommodate for the correct date of the 14th. I was changed from my previous time of 9am to 1pm.

On the day of our move (14th) the movers called to confirm 1pm. Several hours later said it would be between 3–4 pm. A little after 4pm, a much smaller truck with 3 men showed up. We were supposed to have 4 movers, not 3. The truck was a Budget rental truck that I could have rented myself and they didn’t have any additional equipment to “wrap and pad” my furniture as I had been told was part of the service. It was also very obvious when they did the walk through that they were contractors and had not been given correct information. They said it would be additional money. They were not happy about needing to disassemble table and beds, again something that I was paying for. They also said that all drawers would need to be emptied of clothes and I had specifically asked Mitch and the person that confirmed our move of clothes could be left in the drawers and was told yes.

So a move for a 4 bed 2 bath house, shed contents, which I specifically went through at length and made sure that Mitch understood it contained a garden tub, dishwasher, and double vanity for our new house, and 12 boxes of brick facade was originally quoted as $7750. This was a large move and I agreed to a large price. The movers arrive and want more money. I sent them away after arguing in the phone with American Standard and telling them this was unacceptable. I refused to give them one more dollar or to pay any remaining balance. They refused to refund any of my hefty deposit. Plus we had to rent trucks and move ourselves.

Do not use this company! It is a bait and switch. Not only do they take advantage of the customer, they take advantage of smaller movers that they contract the jobs out to.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Miami, FL

Most Horrible Experience Ever.

What a terrible experience with this broker, and a terrible way to take advantage of people during COVID. I was lied to by their sales rep, who sent me an itemized quote that included a motorcyle. After an hour talk, selling me on the excellence of their services, he promised me that the motorcycle would be handled with care, and that there will be no extra cost as long as my inventory is correct. I signed off the agreement electronically, and only received a deposit payment confirmation. A week prior my move, I called to ask whether I could get the bike picked up from a near by location. I was transferred to the moving company they hired, and was told it would not be a problem, the address was added on file.

2 days prior pick up, the company called and when going through the inventory, mentioned no bike was on the list. I ended up paying over 700 extra, and the bike was picked up like a box, secured between pieces of furniture only. The movers had no tools and wore no masks.

I just received the shipment today, and got charged $350 for transferring my items to a small truck from the trailer. Would the broker not advice me about this, if he was honest? Worst, my bike is still missing, along with my mattress, and large pieces of furniture.

Do not trust his company, and book with a moving company you know you going to work with from the beginning to the end.

Move from Tuscaloosa to Texas.

American Standard is just Sales Group that brokers out your move! Do yourself a favor and Move on to another company. My sales rep Mitch lied about every aspect of my move. From his quote, to when I would receive my furniture. Know that the moving company he farms you out to has up to 21 business days to delivery your belongings to your destination. Be prepared to sleep on the floor! He low balls your quote to get your business and the moving company they contract charges whatever they feel like at the time they arrive to move you. You sign another contract on their terms. I was quoted $1,910. Actual cost was $2,690. I moved out of a small 2 bedroom that I stayed in for one year. Hardly any furnishings. Basic necessities .. 2 beds, 2 piece sectional, kitchen set, counter stools, 9 large boxes. Not your typical lived in 2 bedroom home with a lot of stuff. Your Sales Rep will quote you by items.. 1 Table, though actual mover tells you 5 items- table top and 4 legs! Not a joke its on my new itemized list. Read your contract before you give any deposits to any moving company. Fees are charged to wrap a TV $150, mattress has to have special cover you are charged for but they do not put on! It is one scam after another to take advantage of you as you have no choice. The American Standard contract you sign states its at the discretion of the mover! In short, I recommend to sell your furniture and treat yourself to new furniture when you get there! It will arrive faster and with less aggravation.

Warning: Bait And Switch Scam.

American Standard Moving and Storage is a scam. We gave them a list of items to be moved and they quoted us a price. On moving day the mover showed up and classified 70% of our items as "Bulky" items that required a premium fee. Bottom line our $2800 quote ballooned to $6300. They refused to move us for the contracted fee of $2800. When we refused to pay the $6300, the mover left and American Standard refused to refund our $1300 deposit.

Avoid These People.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Bait and switch tactics!

Dodge calls. Don't answer emails.

I still don't have my things. Time frame has come and gone for delivery. Cross country move.

When I booked my move, the sales person and I walked through the process, did an initial inventory that he told me.. "lets just get close, identify the big items, and we can estimate the smaller ones"..

Ended up with about 90 items.

He calls back the week of my move, we go through it again now that we have items packed and a better idea of what we are moving.

Some things have gone, some have been added, but we still land around the 88 item mark.

Movers show up (completely different company..by the way) American farmed us out to some random movers.

The foreman takes a look around and counts items and ends up with DOUBLE the number.

In the initial count you say, I have 2 queen beds and frames. this gets counted at a total of 4. But when the movers show up this gets counts as a total of 10.

I.e. 2 headboards, 2 footboards, 4 side rails, 2 mattresses.

Same thing happened with our tables, desks, and other items.

So, all in all, our move cost double what we had been quoted. Being stuck as we were leaving about 10 hours later, we agreed.

Here we are more than 3 weeks later and past the delivery window.. our items still have NOT even left the original destination. Again, this is a CROSS COUNTRY MOVE.

I call American Standard and they say, NOPE, you need to call this other place.

I call the other place and get ahold of someone the first time I call. They said they need to call dispatch and give me a call back..

No call ever comes.

I try to call back, and it goes straight to VM. Time and time again..straight to voicemail.

We call from my wifes phone and VOILA they answer!! But they say the same thing, we need to call dispatch and will call you back.

OF COURSE NO ONE CALLS.

If our items ever show up it will be at least 5 weeks without our items.

If they ever show up.

I have used movers before for both long haul and short haul moves and this is INSANE!!

I know why they make you pay with cash when they pick your stuff up and drop it off.. so you can't dispute it with your CC company.

SCAM ARTISTS.

AVOID THESE PEOPLE.

Horrible service. Lied to from the moment of first call.

I received a great original quote from Glen Davis. Discussed that once all was packed I would receive a call 72 hours prior to arrival to update inventory. Well I called 3 times over the previous 3 days and was told not to worry they would call. Once movers showed up I was explained what the cost would be if I completely filled truck, but not to worry that wouldn't happen. Once truck was fully loaded, I was informed it would be an additional 2000 dollars. I called Mr. Davis who said "Well that was our fault sorry we didn't call, but it is out of our hands now. You can always refuse delivery and lose your deposit." On the day of moving that would have then cost me an additional 1500 dollars for a moving truck rental on day of move. Customer service offers no help, sales reps lie, contracts were broke . but who care they got their money right?

American Standard Moving Company.

Do not use this company! I used this company to move from San Diego to LasVegas and they subbed out the work to Cheetah Movers. However, Cheetah did not pick up my stuff. Another mover came named White Gold and their lead guy was very rude to me. The final delivery was made by yet another company. A bunch of my collectibles were broken but who do you hold accountable when different companies are involved? I had no idea when they were going to deliver. They told me it could be up to two weeks and then at 10:40 pm I received a text that they would deliver the next day. Their customer service told me to have a Cashier check made.to Cheetah but then White Gold shows up and won’t take it. Both American Standard’s sales guy And White Gold were unprofessional and rude. I saw the poor Reviews and should not have used them. I also had questions and they did not return my calls. Don’t use this company as they are so unprofessional.

Long-distance move from Colorado to North Carolina

Do Not Use This Company!

My husband and I recently relocated from Colorado to North Carolina. I was, of course, looking for the most reasonable cost for this move, and looked into many companies. The sales rep from Am Standard was nice enough, but when I was hesitant to move forward with making a final decision, he switched me to another rep that really increased the pressure to sign, which should have been my first red flag.

I had given them the list of all our furniture and appliances, an approximate box count, and our quote was $12,000, minus an ENORMOUS discount of 65%, bringing the total down to $5700. Of course, this was the best price I was able to find, so I signed with them. The discounted amount should have been red flag #2.

The day the movers showed up, it was not a truck from American standard, as expected, THEY BROKER THEIR MOVE OUT AND DO NOT TELL YOU! The foreman sits down with me, and with his nifty pencil, gives me a final price of $12,400. I about fell off my chair! No, I explained, I have a written price of $5700 from American Standard. He says, oh, that is nothing, this is how we calculate your cost, and explains it to me. Here I am, three days before we must have the house empty and cleaned for the buyers, and be on our way to our new home, six states away. I got right on the phone with Am Standard, and was going to straighten this problem out-Only, my salesman is not available! I am only allowed to speak to a customer service rep who knows nothing about our move.

I explained what was happening, and she was very sympathetic, even offered to refund $450.00 (which, of course I never got!) The foreman, in the meantime, called his boss, and got $2000 taken of the total cost. I was backed into a corner- no time at this point to shop around for another mover, was not able to reach the Am Standard sales team, and this mover was not loading a box on his truck until I signed his contract. After several calls to my husband at work, we decided to sign, and contact a lawyer once we got to North Carolina. This was classic bait and switch, and there was no way out!

The movers were very good at their jobs, I will say, and they did wrap all our furniture very well. There wasn't a single item broken or missing, and no damage to any piece of our furniture.

On the other end, our belongings were supposed to arrive on Sept 2. When I called on Sept 1 to confirm their arrival time, I was informed they had up to THREE WEEKS past the date I was promised to deliver our belongings, which was explained to me by my movers (this was a complete surprise, and was definitely not explained!)

We ate off paper plates and slept on an inflatable mattress for the next two weeks, until our belongings arrived on Sept 14.

We have now settled into our new home, but this is not over.

Long-distance move from Fairfax, VA to Madison, WI

Poor communication.

I knew the move I was trying to schedule would be difficult, and I did my best to convey that when I spoke to Jason on the phone. He assured me he would send a team that could deal with the tight elevator schedule, and my shipment could be warehoused in my new home town while I house hunted, and delivered when I found a home. He gave me his number so I could reach him with questions without going through the dispatch number. After that, he never answered any of my calls or replied to messages.

The movers were scheduled on the wrong day, and I had to wrestle for a new elevator appointment. One dispatcher told me the movers would be there an hour early for the new appointment. They were two hours late. I called back, and another dispatcher told me that the time was not when they would work, but a window of time during which they might arrive. I was running boxes and furniture down the hall myself, trying to get it all in the loading dock before my elevator time ran out. When the movers showed up, they were in no hurry. When the work was nearly complete, and I was being hollered at by the elevator czar from the property management office, the moving crew stopped for a break. In the end, I did about half of the heavy lifting myself.

When I arrived at the new town, and found a home, I called to try to schedule a delivery date. Everything Jason said about moving things to the new town for a quick delivery went out the window. After three weeks, everything was still in the wrong state. I was told they'd get it on a truck in about a week, and then it might take two to four weeks to arrive, but they would call 24 hours ahead of arrival. All I could do was let my employer know I would need a day off on short notice between now and the end of time. The good news is that it only took a few days, not two to four weeks, between the time the shipment was on the road and the delivery. I was given 16 hours notice.

When the shipment arrived, the people who moved it were careful and professional. Of course, by that time the damage had been done. There were some broken plates, and a few missing items. Many of the boxes and some of the furniture had been damaged.

Untruthful Sales Associate.

Sales Specialist Lied about cancellation policy in conversation. I spoke to a sales associate on the phone named Vince Pearlman for American Standard Moving and Storage and scheduled a moving service. Vince promised me verbally over the phone more than three times that I could cancel my service up until move in day. I called the next day after speaking with Vince and asked to cancel. He sent me to customer service. I asked to cancel. They denied my cancellation and requested to hold my $574 deposit because that was their written cancellation policy. The sales associate verbally denied that was their cancellation policy after I asked him numerous times. Their sales rep repeatedly denied this in a phone conversation three times. Even after calling to cancel, American Moving and Storage has refused to give me a refund even after I called the next day.

Must Read.

I'm a senior and have moved households many times in my lifetime, however I was not savvy enough to see this scam. I have an open case with the State Attorney Consumers Affairs Division and Department of Highway and Transportation.

I am pushing them to do a full blown investigation. They provided no service to me and want to keep my 3k deposit.

I would rather donate that money to someone in need than see the scam artists keep that money. They simply lowballed my estimate then after we closed on our home and prepared two weeks for the move, they show up and their hired help spends literally 5 minutes in my home and tells me they screwed up. Now the 6k estimate for the move is 12,000 to 14,000. You can imagine the shock my wife was in. This is after a few days prior going over every item that had to be moved with a gentleman named Scott and informing me they had to bump the estimate from 5,700 to 6,300, again after reviewing every item room by room. Okay we really had no choice that was just few days before the move. We did not add one item from that conversation. So then they use the contract wording, "estimate" as their basic way of not having to honor their contract. Just for your FYI, Mayflower came as an emergency call and provided an estimate and moved me the next day for thousands less than American tried to scam us for. Be aware of a sales rep named Brian, nice in the beginning then ghosts your calls and emails when the scam takes place. I've been in business many years but this is truly the shadiest scam artists I've ever dealt with. I confirm everything I wrote is factual, which was sent to their customers relations department. You should have seen that response, gouging and deceptive practices are criminal, that's what I'm, seeking the Attorney General to move forward with. However they respond to this is more cover-up for their scams.
