They are just brokers / pimp.

They have picked up my stuff in June and I had given them a confirmed date of delivery but when I called them to confirm delivery date and time , they had started giving me excuses everyday and finally after 3-4 days , they told me that another moving company is going to call me to confirm the date. They rudely told me to refer the contract that they do not garuntee dates as they are just the coordinators. Avoid them as they are just brokers. Go directly to real moving companies.

Decent.

So it's always a relief when your movers show up on time. On the day of the move, American Standard Moving reached out to me to let me know that they were on their way. The movers showed up on time, were courteous, careful with our furniture, and extremely efficient. With such short notice, they managed Hoboken parking, wrapped all the furniture neatly and professionally. Once they got moving, everything was done carefully and efficiently. Absolutely no complaint at all with their movers - I will definitely be using their services for all future moves and will be recommending them to my friends and coworkers! Handled all my belongings with the utmost care and took my stress level down immensely! Deliver took a bit longer than expected but they made up with the level of service. They were diligent and competent with their time, and I would book them again for the next move I will do. Much appreciated guys keep up the superb work! You guys rocked it. So many many thanks!!

Long-distance move from Colorado Springs, CO to Georgetown, CT

Hannah.

From the initial phone call we described everything we could actually expect to have before and after the transfer. I became extremely joyful about that relocating morning. American Standard was great!! As soon as the men arrived, they got the properties loaded up and able to transfer in a very little time frame. The pickup was smooth and simple, they stuck in touch with me and when the delivery morning arrived they organize each of our pieces of furniture in the areas we selected. Absolutely nothing was basically damaged or even shattered. I can mention that the prices were reasonable and also the service was excellent. I am delighted and would often inform people concerning the company. I would reccomend them for your move! Great service!

Horrific Experience - Stay Away.

HORRIFIC experience, do NOT use them!!

After speaking to the sales person and walking through all the furniture we own, move details, etc. we were assured there was 0% chance our move would cost more then $3,500, and we were provided the payment details and schedule. American called again a week before the move date to again review what we were moving. Surprise! the actual movers came out and promptly told us we were woefully misquoted and our move would cost $6,000. American had not even provided the movers with the updated list of what we needed to move, which is what they base the space needed in the truck off of. I immediately called American where the customer service team was horrendous, rude, and zero help. There response was basically "we didn't quote you wrong" and "well you must have lied about what you own" "we did nothing wrong" which doesn't even make an logical sense. The customer service rep even argued with the lead mover onsite on speaker phone. The actual movers (which were subcontracted) were lovely people and super helpful. At this point we were stuck, as the movers were already there and we had to get our stuff across the country, so we had to pay the $6k. So much for promising under 3.5k, what a joke.

I beg you, DO NOT USE THEM. They subcontract the work anyways, so find a small moving company that will just work with you directly the entire time.

Long-distance move from Syracuse, NY to Collierville, TN

I wish there was an option for zero stars.

I wish there was an option to add no star as even a star is a huge compliment for this company. Avoid it at all costs. They cheated us on the inventory, lied to us about delivery and charged us extra.MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INVENTORY THEY PUT IN YOUR CONTRACT. We had to dump half our things and the moved ended up costing us lots lots more.
My story is as follows:
My sister with her one year old was moving as alone from Syracuse to Tennessee to join her husband. I travelled from Europe to help her. A day before our move, our original company from Memphis cancelled and said that their truck had broken down. Our flights were already booked and were non refundable. We decided to look for a mover who could get to us the next day in Syracuse to pick up our things. We found one and the gentleman was very nice, however he was clear that we would be looking at 5 days to receive our belongings. He did a detailed inventory and was super honest with us about the delivery time. He also warned us that whoever promises to deliver earlier would be lying. The gentleman quoted us $3100 with delivery in 5 working days.
As our new place in Tennessee was unfurnished and we had children, we decided to contact American standard to ask if they can get our belongings delivered earlier. I got through to a Mr. Austin, explained our situation and that I wanted know if they can deliver earlier to TN. He told me that they can do 500 miles a day and as our destination was around a 1000, it can be done very early. I was ecstatic and thought this would be ideal. Then he said that he would transfer me to someone, who can get details and give me a quote. I spoke to a Mr. Brad, who heard my concerns, appeared helpful and asked us to email him the inventory that my previous quote from the company was based on. I emailed it and he came back with a quote of $3599. I thought that as they are getting the belongings in so early it’s fine to pay the extra amount. He even said that this is final amount and you won’t pay a cent more. He said that I will base the contract on this inventory. lo and behold, the contract was instantly sent and we were told to sign it urgently electronically (whilst on phone with him) so that the movers can be sent out that very instance. As we were in a hurry to get the mover in and believed what he said, we signed the contract.
Next day, the mover came. The minute he walked in, he started complaining about the boxes. We said the size is listed on the inventory. He read it and went quite. Then he started complaining about every little thing we had. Then came the big shock that our 6 seater sofa was not included in the inventory. we couldn’t believe it and called the company. The customer service was extremely rude and said they understand our situation and despite us sending them a detailed inventory, it’s our fault that we signed the contract.
The company that was picking up was a subcontractor and charged us an extra $600 and we had to leave half our things behind and dump them.
We thought this was it.. however, we are still waiting for our things to drive. Our belongings were picked up on Friday and it’s Wednesday now and the delivery has not even been scheduled as yet. I called their customer service and was told they can only offer me $200 compensation and I can get delivery updates from the partner. They refused to acknowledged their fault and kept on blaming us for signing the contract. They did not put me through to anyone I spoke to earlier and said they were not in the office or busy on another line.
I refused the compensation they offered for $200 as this amount was a slap in my face for all they put us through. So in summary, this company cost me $4200, which was $1100 more than the quotes I had, they had me dump over thousand dollars worth belongings, children toys and things of sentimental value, gave us intense anxiety and despite it being over 4 working days, we still have no delivery date. Please avoid at all costs!

Ggg.

I hired American Standard to handle my move from Salt Lake City, Utah to Houston, Texas. I had a good experience the whole way through minus a slight delay which ended up working out for me anyway. My sales rep was really detailed and explained everything including the negatives if they were to arrive. Movers were on time, packed really well and I got everything with no issues. I will be recommending them to friends and family.

We needed to move our household items to two separate locations. I called American Standard Moving after reading reviews. They seemed to be a very professional. Their truck and movers showed up precisely as requested right on time. They loaded my garage storage in 3 hours and our furniture from the storage space in 2 hours. They delivered and unloaded our possessions and re-assembled everything. They were very nice and accommodated all of our wishes. We were unsure of where items were going and moved them from room to room several times. I felt like a pain, but we are not capable of moving heavy items. The guys did it with a smile on their face and never complained. Everything exactly like clockwork.

My experience with this company has been really great! They are very reliable and trustworthy. Orlando and David were our movers, and they did an excellent job when they showed up. They were very kind, professional and even patient with me when I got things confused. Customer service was very responsive. These guys helped us move furniture between three different houses, which was a big job. Everything went very well! I highly recommend American Standard Moving to set up your move!

Honestly one of my best experiences.

American Standard Moving and Storage was excellent. The estimate was exactly what we paid, the time estimate was accurate and we were not pressured about extras. The crew they sent to us came on time, worked quickly and carefully and unloaded the same way. They were extremely professional and polite. Could not have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend this company to you guys. Was a little more expensive than expected considering I got quotes $500 cheaper etc. But I am glad I chose this company.

Complete scam.

My girlfriend and I were planning a 2500 mile move. We found American Standard Moving (ASMS). We had never worked with movers before and were not aware there was such a thing as a moving broker. The people we talked with through ASMS never mentioned they were a broker until things started going badly. They were deceptive, manipulative, and dishonest from the start.

It started with multiple phone calls every day after we used a moving company search engine. They used high pressure tactics to get us to sign contracts without reading them, saying things like "we need to sign this as fast as possible because we have a truck coming through your area in a few days that could pick you up, but only if you sign it now.” They used our schedule as a manipulation tool, stating that we "probably would have to change (our) schedule” if we didn’t sign right away. They encouraged us to skip reading the contract and to scroll straight down to the inventory they manually entered at the bottom. They did not talk about any of the stipulations in the contract. They claimed they “properly” disclosed all of this information during disputing the credit card charges.

As soon as we paid the first deposit of $1000, they were suddenly hard to reach even though they had been calling at least twice a day until we paid the deposit. They didn't know when "their" movers would be out, and they regularly refused to answer questions about the move, stating that "dispatch is handling that now and we can't see their systems." We got the run around for a few weeks until they finally said we had to do another inventory, at which point they raised the price from $2800 to $3800. We paid another $700 at that point. They verbally promised to send “their most professional men," still never mentioning that they were NOT a moving company. They also verbally promised that we would hear from them at minimum 1 week before the move date. We didn't hear from them until the day before the move when they stated that we would owe them another $1100 in cash or check on arrival.

It was at this point that we decided to cancel the move and use somebody more trustworthy and communicative. We called back and suddenly the price was $8000 for our move.

I reached ASMS' customer service employee and told her that I felt strongly misled and that their services had been misrepresented to me. The woman I spoke to, “Stephanie,” escalated and started screaming at me, talking over me, and threatened to take me to court if I cancelled the move. I felt threatened and unsure of my options, but canceling was the better option versus letting someone take my belongings for an unknown amount of time for more than double what we had agreed on. I was VERY clear that these were my reasons for canceling.

I then filed disputes with Chase. The woman who I spoke to said her name was Stephanie, but on the paperwork they sent to Chase her name is now “Nicole,” and she blatantly lied and said I "refused to give a reason for cancellation." 2 months later, Chase sided with ASMS and let them keep our money even though no service was provided and they lied throughout the process.

We aren’t the only people going through this. They have many negative reviews at different websites with people reporting very similar predatory practices being done by ASMS. MyMovingReviews.com even noted that they saw many fake reviews all coming from the same IP address.

Per the Better Business Bureau, they have 33 complaints in the last year. For comparison, United Van Lines, a company with volume many times larger and with many years of service, has zero.

These guys suck!

If I could give no stars that would be more accurate. Please don’t be tempted by their “rating” from others that reviewed and do not go with these guys. Worst experience ever!

Here are the facts:
1. They will give you a low quote originally only to add additional costs on the day of your move, leaving you with no choice but to pay it.
**Be sure to ask about and factor-in the additional $150 long haul cost (once for pick up and again for delivery - total $300), $370 shuttle cost, extra box and packing costs and any additional inventory costs.
2. They don’t tell you the exact date or time they’ll be there to pick up your stuff until 24 hours before the day of the move.
3. And they also don’t give you the exact time and date they can deliver your things until 24 hours before the day of delivery. Even though you tell them your preferred date, they completely ignore it and means nothing to them.
4. Their customer service is a joke and even after you call them to try and find out the dates of pick up and delivery, they say they’ll find out, but they don’t follow up at all.
**Even after repeatedly following up for a resolution, they suck at resolving anything.
5. Their packing job is horrible and you’re items will get dinged, ripped and damaged.
6. When unloading, they take apart everything and then do the worst job re-assembling the items they took apart, leaving you with extra screws/bolts and parts.
*They'll also try and duck out before reassembling everything they took apart so, make a note of what they took apart.
7. They’ll damage your hardwood floors and bang up your new place walls when unloading and the try to cover it up by placing your boxes over the area so you won’t see it until you move/unpack that box and they’re long gone.

In short, if you do for some reason decide to go with these guys..don’t say I didn’t warn you and enjoy the [EDIT] service and price gauge you’ll get.

My experience with this company has been HORRIBLE! Whenever I call customer service they always talk over you and are extremely nasty. The company that is supposed to actually deliver my daughters furniture Insta-Movers has yet respond, they were given the correct dress to deliver to but yet when I call they have nothing on file for her delivery date and the dispatcher has no clue. Tried to call the initial salesman and he has not responded but yet I was told to contact him if I had any issues-I wold not recommend them to anyone not will I ever ever ever use them again!

Great.

American Standard Moving has really helped me with this! Their customer service is great. From the initial call everything went well! The total estimate did not exceed what I was quoted.

I loved my daughter from PA to Brooklyn New York and was scared to hire some of the brokers calling me. Brian was great in guiding me through the process and customer service was great with my follow ups.

The movers did a great job and the total cost of $1577 to move her studio apartment saved me a ton vs renting a truck and having to fly out there to move her. The delivery did take a little over a week but hey! It was quite a distance so it was understandable. I will most definitely recommend American Standard!

This is the first time I have ever written a review on the internet this is how bad my experience was with American standard moving.

Then I get a phone call 2 days before my move asking for an additional $300 which I have to pay or they will cancel my move and keep my deposit.

This company is Not the movers.

0 stars is how this review should be. They DONT live up to what they tell you and they take you for every dollar they can. They said they’re the movers but that’s a lie. They have some low budget rude owner Cheetah Movers do the moving and they add another $1,000 to your amount due. Also they say it will be done by weight which is a lie. However, if they damage your stuff they’ll only pay .60 less than a dollar a pound. Oh yeah besides them having you sign everything blank before they’ll start working. I thought the reviews were 50/50 but I’m thinking they probably had friends write the good reviews.. Companies like these two are some of the reasons NOBODY CAN BE TRUSTED. Ialso they didn’t even take all my stuff and the moving company said he’d throw my stuff in the trash. I’m waiting to see if and what condition my stuff shows up. This is a sad world we’re living in when once they have your money they treat you like your getting a free Service and how dare you complain. $4,300 and I still have to move some of my own stuff because I wouldn’t fork out another $1,000. Oh and don’t you dare complain to Ely from Cheetah movers he’ll call you names and tell you he’ll throw your stuff away. All I can think is a Company is only as good as the people their hiring. Save yourself the heartache and trouble do it yourself.

Time.

This will be a two part review. I was told my furniture would be here in 10-14 days. It has been 19 days. I called them and a very smug smarmy lady started to quote the DOT rules and regulations. Never mind what I was told. I told her I received a call ten days ago saying my furniture would be here today at the latest 11/4/19. It was picked up 10/16/19. She said nope. Then she said those aren’t “business days”. Really? So 14 days is really 15 business days which is really 21 days.
The price was average. They are a moving coordinator not a true moving company. As of now I would say look elsewhere. I will be back when my furniture arrives. For there sake it better not be one day later than the law allows.

Amazing!

I was in the Navy and have moved many times over the past 12 years and this by far is the best moving company. Anyone who has ever been in the military can tell you what a nightmare it was to move to a new duty station. So, when I hired American Standard movers at the end of 2019 I was simply amazed! The three-man crew that showed up was absolutely incredible! They were punctual, polite, and very professional. They wrapped all my furniture in blankets and stretch wrap and loaded everything carefully on to their truck, and they were just as particular unloading at my new place. Everything arrived in perfect condition. So, when I just learned that I needed to move again I did not hesitate to contact American Standard Movers. George had once again made the setup process seamless and I have no doubts that my upcoming moving experience will be just as spot-on as my previous with them. With no hesitation I highly recommend American Standard Movers!!

American Standard Moving and Storage.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This company proved problematic from start to finish. Here’s what you can expect from American Standard Moving and Storage: They will low-ball your estimate to get your business, and after you’ve provided them a substantial NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, they will squeeze you for more $ every step of the way! I ended up having to pay them almost $1000 above their estimate, and I have the documents and email copies to prove that. They are disorganized and obviously poorly managed. Bottom line: they are scammers. AVOID AMERICAN STANDARD MOVING AND STORAGE for your next move. Their only reliable “standard” will be sub-par performance and bad business practices.

Bait and Switch Scam BEWARE.

This company provides zero value to you. They will give you some estimate that's low, take a large non-refundable deposit, then assign you to some random movers who will come and charge you an additional $700-$1000 every time they see you (pickup/delivery) because why wouldn't they? The quote that American Standard gives you is absolutely worthless, it means nothing. They'll say it's "binding" but the movers will show up and let you know that it's going to cost an additional $100 per degree above or below 72 or whatever they happen to choose. Keep in mind, this is after you've paid a $900 non-refundable deposit and after the movers have your things on their truck. You have no contract, you're just assigned to random movers for pickup and again for delivery (they explicitly lied to me about this one) who will charge you whatever they want.

Long Distance Move.

This company is HORRIBLE DO NOT USE!! I spoke with an individual named Vince who was extremely accommodating while he was trying to get my business but when I ran into some problems(i.e. the price that he quoted me was less then what I was required to pay) and I tried to call to speak to him about it, he NEVER returned my call. I guess he was like we have your money now so there is no need for me to speak to you. I would be extremely disappointed if I owned this company and knew that this was the type of customer service that was being exhibited by my employees. Prior to me realizing what a fraud this company was, I referred them to a friend of mine who they also tried to scam. Even if you list out everything that you plan on moving, be prepared for the movers to tell you that have exceeded the amount of space that the company reserved for you. I gave Vince a list of everything that needed to be moved short of an extra mattress and he quoted me a price. I don't live in the city where I was moving things from so I had to fly into town. The movers get there and quote me a price over what I was told because they said I had gone over the amount of space that the company told them I needed for my move. I STILL HAD 16 BOXES THAT NEEDED TO BE MOVED. AS A RESULT, I HAVE TO GO BACK AND TRY TO GET THESE BOXES MOVED. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE I USED THEM. They will make your life a living hell.

I had to delete 5000 characters from this review to fit it here)

AMERICAN STANDARD TAKES A PERCENTAGE OF YOUR TOTAL PAYMENT FOR LEAVING YOU IN THE HANDS OF THE CRAPPY MOVING COMPANIES THAT THEY WORK WITH. AND THAT'S ABSOLUTELY ALL THEY DO:

American standard is a fraud company, and its business model is based on:

1- convincing the customer verbally to trust them, so they lie and lie on the phone, about your price, about delivery dates, about the service you receive. They do everything to make sure you trust them. This step will get you to sign a contract with them that you most likely never read.

In this step, they pretend that they are giving you an actual estimate, so ask you how many BOXES you move and base their estimation upon that. But think about it, the "number of boxes" cannot be a measure. Because anything from a small shipping box to an enormous appliance bix qualifies as a "BOX" here.

They only pretend they are giving you an estimate here, while, in fact, they have nothing to do with the pricing. American Standard only wants you to believe that they are a part of your moving. In reality, they have a list of crappy movers, they refer you to them, the movers do everything and then finally give a percentage to American Standard.

2- They have a collection of movers they work with, and they will leave you to them. If you are lucky, you may find yourself in the hands of a decent company (if they ever work with a decent company). But most likely, you are stuck with a collection of crappy movers (I'll explain why I use the word "collection" here) that you would never do business with.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS, it means you care about the ratings and reviews of the company you hire. So why would you hire this company only to assign you to horrible movers that you do not know randomly?! Just think about it, you obviously care that you are reading this review. Now, you know, by hiring American Standard, you are actually leaving yourself in their hands to pick some of their random crappy movers for you. Save yourself.

3- American Standard may use its network of movers to optimize its benefits. Meaning they are working with a lot of movers, and your property will be dropped off and picked up by multiple movers in a given time frame to get to you. It could have been an option if their pricing was accurate or competitive. You will end up paying more than paying to a single moving company, your property will be heavily damaged and lost because so many movers pick up and drop them off, you will not have a single point of contact, and in the end, you are not able to hold anyone accountable because there are way too many of them.

American Standard covers all these facts, only to get you to sign their contract.

We have had the most horrible experience in hiring this immoral company:

-We have lost so much. After months of recording and filing claims, we are offered $76, and only if we waive all our rights and future claims. The damage exceeds $2000.

We also lost so much of our properties because we gave them away. American Standard in their initial evaluation makes it look like it is the volume that matters, not the weight! So we got rid of all our bulky things, not knowing they do not care about the size, they only care about their weight!

-We paid them a total of $5,616.00 (all with hard evidence), while the final value in the bill of lading is only $4,614.91. It is a $1,001.09 difference that they refused to pay back.

They received: -$1,175 check on 4/17/19 -$750 check on 7/29/19 -$1,719.50 check on 7/31/19 -$1000 USPS money order 0n 8/30/19

-$791.50 USPS money order on 8/30/19 and -$180 check on 8/30/19, all with evidence and receipts

The bill of lading, which shows the total we should have paid them, shows $4,614.91

They denied us the money back, they are giving us hard-time for the money, this money is stolen and does not belong to them.

They are probably going to respond to this post by saying things like: They are not an auto-moving company, or all the customer's requests were handled professionally and promptly, and so on. Trust me, they won't hesitate to turn the truth on its head to stay in business.

I do not know who you are, but I am sure you deserve better than these people. If you are filing a lawsuit against them, you can count me in. If you can find me, I will be more than happy to spend more time talking to you on the phone to convince you that you should not hire them.

I have wasted at least 50-60 hours of my time on these guys so far. I am just hoping that at least, these last few hours I am spending to write this review can help some of you, not to go through the same nightmare as we did.

Just imagine what they did to us that I put myself into so much trouble to spend so many hours of my time writing them a negative review.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Worst company ever. I was injured very badly and had to cancel. I was never told that I had 72 hours by the broker which I was not aware it was not the company. And I did call within their timeline the dispatcher to tell them I had to cancel. I did not get a return phone call from anyone so try to call the gentleman I talked to gave me his phone number on my caller ID. I did call him but he did not call me back a few days later I tried calling again and no response I left a message. So I tried calling a couple of more days and no one would call me back. Then I decided to use my cell phone with a different number. When I did I got a gentleman that picked up the phone and told me that the broker that I had called was in a meeting and he would have him call me back. So I waited another day and no call he did not call me back. I had called another day and no one called me back again so I used my cell phone once again and called and I finally got ahold of the broker. I told him I had been trying for several days to call him and that I had to cancel. He gave me to his manager. Very rude person. She told me that I would not get my money back because I did not call back in the timeline of 72 hours. I was never told I had 72 hours and asked her why they did not respond to my call she told me I was too late and would not return my money. Maybe they are scammers out to get your money and very rude. I never received any kind of contract never saw a contract of any kind when I was talking to the broker on the phone. I did fill out a partial piece of contract that was on for what I was going to move only to fill it out and a possible timeline of maybe when but not definite moving. I was so shocked when she told me that they were not going to refund any of my money. This company is a big Ripper they took me for $2,400 for nothing I am 73 years old and live on a fixed income this is unbelievable. I warned you do not use this company ever you will regret it. I have read many many reviews of them that are really bad many horror stories. She flat out told me in a very rude way that you would not be returning any of my money. I'm going to fight this to the end and I will never give up till the world knows what kind of horrible Company this is.
