I recently used the moving service facilitated by Authority guys, and I can't recommend them enough. Their team demonstrated great customer service, responding promptly to all my inquiries and being flexible with the changes in our schedule. The entire process was smooth and well-organized, making my move stress-free. The movers they sent were courteous, professional, and diligent in handling my belongings. They took every precaution to ensure the safety of my items, including the most fragile and bulky ones. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and their great insurance options make them a top choice - can genuinely recommend them.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2900

My wife and I contracted with Authority Moving Experts (AME Moving and Storage) to move my daughter’s furniture from Austin, Texas to Brooklyn, New York. We spoke to the Logistics Coordinator supervisor named Jayson (Jay) Dioro. He never disclosed they are merely a broker and would ultimately subcontract with the lowest bidder mover. Jay gained our confidence by telling us that they pick-up and deliver every day inclusive of weekends, and provided us with his direct number and email, and charmingly assured us that he would be our advocate during the entire process.

AME subcontracted with Luxury Logistics LLC (also referred to as SSD Freight LLC). Our arranged pick-up day was Sunday 07-30-23 from our Extra Space Storage unit in North Austin (roughly a 9-hour drive from our hometown in El Paso, Tx). We called AME first thing on Sunday Morning, to find out that they close early on Saturday and don’t work on Sunday. We next called Jay’s personal number, and he did not answer nor return our call. We had no choice but to book an extra night at our hotel for a Monday pick-up. AME rarely answers their phone and is untimely with responding to voice mails. Ultimately, they called us late in the morning to arrange for a pick-up from Noon – 3pm Monday 07-31-23.

This time commitment came and went, and we did not hear from AME. We called back, and once again were only able to leave voicemails. We received a call around 6pm from Chris, the Supervisor to the drivers (from Luxury Logistics LLC, the subcontractor) to notify us that he would pick-up a U-Haul from Dallas and meet us at the storage facility in Austin around 9pm. We reminded him that the storage facility closes at 10pm. Fortunately, he did arrive at the storage facility at 9pm and unloaded about 1/3 of the unit when his boss Achmed (Alex) called him on Video Chat. Achmed insisted that our 5’x10’x8’ storage unit had 650 cubic feet of contents. Despite telling Achmed the full storage unit only holds 400 cubic feet from wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling. We have documentation and pictures to prove this claim and show that our unit was not filled to maximum capacity. AME estimated our inventory list at 286 cubic feet, after dealing with two different representatives. Achmed advised my wife that he would have his driver return the furniture that was already in the U-Haul to our storage unit if my wife did not agree to amend the contract to his inflated 650 cubic feet. To proceed with the move Achmed imposed a $1,800 up-charge. This egregious charge was almost double our contracted amount. By this time, we were 15-20 minutes before the 10pm facility closing. Therefore, my wife amended the contract accordingly under extreme duress!

The driver of Luxury Logistics LLC called my daughter in Brooklyn, NY to schedule a delivery on 08-04-23. She was his 3rd delivery, and the driver advised my daughter that he would arrive at 8:30pm. He was lost and ran into traffic and ultimately arrived at approximately at 12:30 am on 08-05-23 and finished at 3am. The driver did not have any helpers to unload and set up her furniture at the time he arrived. The driver did not remove the arms for her recliner, for it to fit up the narrow stairwell. My daughter suggested that the driver drop it off at her previous residence to resolve a few blocks away, and he refused. They also scuffed and tore the back of her study/office chair in the move. The driver reloaded the recliner ($400 value), and he left her apartment with the recliner on this truck. The driver also left one of her boxes on his truck and took it to the residence of his last client in Hell’s Kitchen New York. He refused to bring it back to my daughter, so she had to arrange to pick it up from the residence of the driver’s last stop which was 11 miles away.

We would be amenable to a fair settlement and move on, yet the Logistics Coordinator has ghosted us once all deposits were paid, and contracts were signed. I would suggest not using Authority Moving Experts and Luxury Logistics LLC for interstate moving due to their disreputable business practices.

I LOVE this company. Had a moving mishap and needed movers 2 days before I needed to move, and on a Sunday. I was desperate, and after contacting some moving companies directly, figured out I needed help. I have chosen Authority guys due to reviews, and OMG they delivered! They scheduled me instantly, and their quote was very fair. Movers that arrived were spectacular. I was shocked how efficient they were. At one point they had 16 boxes in the elevator for one trip down. It was crazy. I can’t recommend this team enough, they took care of everything! I will be using them for every move I have in the future - which I hope isn’t anytime soon.

Used their service for a short distance but big move (we needed 2 trucks)! Even though it was rather short notice, these guys sent us a 5-star team! They took only a couple of breaks while working 10+ hours, and were very easy to communicate with. day and kept us informed the entire time. They worked extremely hard and were pleasant to chat with during the process. This company’s customer service is amazing, between calls, texts, and emails, none went unanswered and most were immediately responded to. The price was extremely competitive and fair. What a breath of fresh air! After trying to coordinate with another moving company I finally demanded my deposit back and called these guys. Totally positive experience from the first phone call. I was given a REASONABLE quote - no hidden fees or charges. They sent great company who knew what they were doing and were super knowledgeable with the packaging! All three movers introduced themselves - were friendly, efficient, and professional. They were wonderful. Thank you so much guys! You are indeed as good as you promised!

I was a bit nervous about hiring the movers via the facilitation team, but they proved me wrong. No hassle at all, all I had to do - place an order and provide the details. The rest was done for me. These guys found the movers, instructed them, coordinated them and controlled them as well. Movers themselves were great, very polite and friendly. They were very careful when they were moving me into my new home. They took time to make sure my furniture was where I wanted it and that I was satisfied. Would never be looking for movers in a different way! These guys were superb! They handled our move on a very short notice, and found the team that went above the expectations! The movers were polite, respectful, professional and hard working. We moved on a hot day, and they worked their tails off in the heat. They were very efficient and careful with everything. We were pretty impressed how gracefully they carried our furniture down three stories. They were pleasant to work with, easy going, and made the move a lot less stressful. The coordination team that set everything up via phone were also very nice and pleasant to speak to. Everything from start to finish went very smooth, and I would definitely recommend this company to family and friends. Thank you!

I feel bad for the people that are just doing their daily jobs here, and really the CEO of this company and upper management are at fault. They make sure not to disclose tiny details to you and then blame the moving company they paymired you with . Ididnt even realize they were a broker until the day of pick up when another not extremely subpar moving company called Luxury Logisitics called. My fault for not paying attention to details after the first really kind call. I called them out for things they refused to be accountable for but they kept repeating a generic like” I understand but that’s all we can do.” That’s what you signed.” They are all very sweet on the phone is the scary part.. Not going to survive as a company if they can’t be accountable for unhappy customers complaints and their choice of moving companies they pair their customers up with. They will talk to you and say I understand and hear you but won’t take accountability by taking in the cost for their customers complaints of disservice when they paired them up with a poor company and the company will not refund them. They will offer a mere refund after you have to fight for yourself but not without prompting them several times. I immediately called them after my pick up saying as my broker they need to call the company and figure why I got these extra charges for tape, extra cubic feet, long carry fee, elevator fee, shrink weapon my sofa, the promise to assemble and dissemble furniture listed on the quote suddenly changed “the Foreman decides what’s safe” even after I told them that adds to he cubic feet, and just rude behavior. They have record of my emails and calls saying I need a resolution to this before my delivery date. And “conveniently” my truck arrives before the resolutions so I’m forced to pay the full amount. No communication or advocacy for the customer just a I understand but that’s all we can do. DOT is aware I’m sure so I don’t think unfortunately this company will last long until they realize they have to be accountable for the costs of unhappy customer who were not disclosed everything instead of a passive aggressive responses saying they did their best. I’m sure they will respond to this with some explanation or excuse rather than accountability. In hindsight, I know they are just trying their best, but the best doesn’t involve being accountable of the the poor service of the moving company they set us up with, hard to ever recommend them again. And seeing that I am not the only one means something.
