Long-distance move from Arkansas to Washington

Don't use Allied Van Lines.

We were guananteed a 2 day window for delivery. The day before they were scheduled to pick up furniture we were told that our driver was pulled and they didn't have another. Our furniture would have to be stored in their warehouse until a driver was found. The packers were 8 hours late and didn't finish until 10:30 pm. I asked them to cover the stairs (beige) and they never did. Our furniture arrived 7 days late (so much for the guarantee!) I had several pieces of furniture with big chunks taken out, some with scratches. Boxes were literally smashed, even with "fragile" stickers all over it. I was told that it was my fault because if it had been packed right, that wouldn't have happened. It was a very "sloppy" move and would not use them again!

Long-distance move from Arizona to Pennsylvania

Do Not Use.

I used Allied moving out of Phoenix. It was a really horrible experience.

They were late arriving to pack up my things. They also charged me extra at the last minute to deliver when they said they would deliver.

When they delivered my things they broke: TV, 2 dressers, TV stand, sofa, scratched dining table. And they didn't put racks into the wardrobe boxes so everything was crushed and wrinkled.

The move was really traumatic and I even paid for the full insurance and they still wouldn't pay for all the things that were broken or damaged.

Please don't use them if you value your furniture.

Long-distance move from Oregon to California

Bad move with Alliance Van Lines.

Please guys, who ever trying to engage this mover please stay away to have your peace of mind. Everything went bad with the word 'go' right from the beginning. This move is about my household items.
Sharing them for readers benefits:
1. Did not picked up items on time
2. Rude people entering into apartment and having issues with proper estimation. Price jacked up by another $400 and made to pay the extra money upfront.
3. Once items picked up, no word on when it is to be delivered.
4. Despite so many calls nothing returned. Fed up and wrote a lengthly mail and reply received that they have 21 days to deliver. (reply was so rude as well)
5. Waited for 21 days and contacted as well. (Imagine the pain and agony on staying without anything on a new location in this state!)
6. Finally a word came from no where that it will be delivered on 22nd day.
7. Delivered most of the items and found 3 important boxes missing.
8. Still in touch with them to trace where my items are.
Anyone willing to engage them please think about these and best of luck to you.
Thanks.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to New Mexico

Allied Van Lines.

We contracted to have our household goods moved from Tennessee to New Mexico with Allied. Our things were picked up on 6/8/11 and were to be delivered between 6/15 & 6/20. Called today to find out status of our shipment and was told it was still in storage and it did not have a driver assigned. No one called, no one emailed, absolutely nothing was said to us to let us know that we were not going to have our things delivered anytime soon. Allied does not offer decent compensation for this inconvenience either. So our family is in an empty house, sleeping on a air mattress with no way to cook, no way to do laundry and absolutely miserable.

Long-distance move from Kentucky to Virginia

Never use these movers!!

I moved from Ky to Va after my husband passed away. The movers mis-labeled boxes and placed china with bed sheets and things like that. Once it came time to deliver my items it was like I was bothering the driver. They did not put together the items they took apart when packing my home up like stated in my paper work. I had a clock given to me by my brother when he was serving in Germany and that was "misplaced" and also my coat rack made by my husband before he passed went "missing". Also some small items like a radio and floor covering for my computer chair went missing. The driver when I asked him if he was going to find the pieces to put together my things said, " I have to get on the road and I do not want to sit in traffic so you can call the company and speak to them about anything missing." Once the movers left they left empty gatoraid bottles all over my yard with no regards to me or the neighborhood. Then when I called about the missing items the lady was extreamly rude and acted like she did not care. They said they had a tracker on it and would call me back. I waited a week and I had to call her back with no answers once again. After the third time she once again had no regards to my belongings and said "oh we can't find your things so we will send you a check." Well that does not replace anything but at least these people could have at acted like they cared. And they sent me a whole whooping $200 check. I would never recommed this moving company, even to my worst enemy. They were so irresponsible as a company and have no regard to personal property, aslong as they get on the road in time.

Long-distance move from Nebraska to Florida

Claims service following move.

The home company in my city was fine. My problem is Allied's customer service for claims. It has been 6 weeks and my claim has not yet been settled. This is not a major claim, the damages to be repaired/replaced are minimal. And, yet, to date nothing has been done. Someone came to view the damages the first week of August. I have been waiting since then for the repairs to be completed.
Allied customer service followup is almost non-existent. I was told today that it is their "busy" season. But that should not effect my claim and my repairs.
I have used other companies for our moves, which have been long distance, and not one has failed to satisfy the claims in a timely manner.
I would advise others to use another company, such as Atlas Van Lines. Their customer service was excellent.
I was unable to use them for this move.
I will never use Allied Van Lines again.

Long-distance move from Alaska to Washington

Alaska move.

Yesterday (Friday) when the movers showed up at 9:00 am and began blaring rap music with questionable lyrics/words loud enough for my neighbors to hear, they began packing, and found my weapons before I could get to them and secure them. My husband is a Marine, and we live, eat, breathe firearm safety in this house. One of the man-child movers began playing with it while 'looking for a serial number to record'. I had already secured my pistol at my side after watching them passing it amongst themselves, never checking, nor declaring 'cleared!' as protocol dictates. I was getting out of the lawn chair where I was sitting off the front porch with a friend in order to say something, when one of them deliberately 1.took the safety off, 2. racked the round and 3. pulled the trigger, thus blowing a 3 inch hole in my front porch..not 15-20 degrees from the angle at which we were sitting. No one was injured, but I spent some time throwing up in the bushes beside our home after it had time to sink in. He is now saying that it went off on its own, spontaneously.      After they left, I then discovered a massive clog in my master-bath toilet. One of the movers used it, was unable to flush, and decided not to inform me.  My friend and myself plunged this toilet for 30 minutes with no effect whatsoever except fouling up the surrounding area ..it was horrific.      While they were in the garage, one of them pulled the 'emergency cord' on the garage door opener, thus preventing me from being able to use the garage door until I figured out how to fix this, having to crawl onto the roof of my car to do so, since I now had no furniture to climb on.      And last, when taking down my curtains, they pulled a curtain rod holder out of the wall, did not say anything, nor did they reattach, I discovered after they left. I am 5'3"..no way of fixing this as my husband left 2 weeks ago and without furniture, I cannot reach it. In their credit though: The supervisor came over immediately and fixed the clogged toilet. Their responses to emails and phone calls are immediate and satisfactory. The supervisory staff were respectful and courteous and good communcation all around.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Texas

Choose Another Company!

From start to finish this was a terrible experience. I lay to several times. From the very beginning, I was told that my belongings could ship out early. I wound up waiting 2 months for my things. I was given an original estimate that was $3000 less than what they ended up charging me after picking up all of my boxes. I was lied to about when the items would be shipped off. I was lied to 3 times about when the items would arrive. When the items were delayed I was not given a call and instead waited around all day long for my things which wound up coming 2 weeks later. On top of that, 80% of my clothes arrived reeking of mold!! I spent $700 on dry cleaning, and hours hand washing things and doing the laundry. A lot of my books smell. One of the only boxes that was packed by the company was crushed and destroyed. I have missing items that are unaccounted for. I was given a discount for my troubles and was happy about that but ended up paying more that amount on dry cleaning. I filed an insurance claim and it took them over a week to contact me and then 3 weeks before they can come check out the damage. In the meantime, I have boxes of moldy clothes and crushed boxes sitting on my patio waiting for them to look at. I cannot put into words how stressful this situation was and I feel so neglected and disappointed and saddened and have been very angry. Luckily I did not have any furniture to ship as I heard that the people who had furniture in my truck had their furniture destroyed. It makes me sick that they can operate a business like this. Moving is hard enough as is without further complications. On top of that, I'm 5 months pregnant and living alone as my husband is in the army and have had to deal with mold that has made me nauseous and given me headaches. Do not choose this company!

Long-distance move from Kansas to Massachusetts

Allied Van Lines.

I very upset and extremely disappointed with the deception I experienced with my recent move from Mission, KS to Monson, MA with Ailled.  I was given a quote of $5742.13 which I paid as demanded prior to unloading my belongings.  When I noticed that I was missing a substantial amount of my boxes I was told that ‘it was overflow” and another truck was coming.  I left Kansas on Wed. July 22 as did the crates and moving truck.  It is now Sept. 3 and I start a new job tomorrow without the rest of my household goods and clothing.   I should have realized something was wrong when my belongings were packed into storage crates in Kansas.  I asked why and the crew told me that they were waiting for a driver so they would go into storage temporarily.   Right now I have been forced to buy items to replace what I already own somewhere in a warehouse in Kansas.  I have no silverware, underwear, socks, cleaning supplies and the list goes on. Coleman Moving/Allied's move coordinator Kelly Albrect is useless.  She places blame elsewhere and contends that 'we are waiting for a driver'  What does that mean?  To hire one?  Put my stuff on Youship?   .

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Horrible experience with Allied!

I cannot recommend Allied at all! The rep. who came to my home gave a written guarantee of services but when the problems with delivery started, he was no where to be found!
The move of the furniture was to be delivered on a weekday between 2-4pm. The day was changed to a day later, same time. But that didn't happen. When I was finally able to call the driver at 4, after a maze of calls to the Allied office in NY, he was in Georgia, HOURS away, with a delivery to make before mine. After tracking it for hours, my furniture was delivered at 2 AM!! I was exhausted!

When I called Allied to discuss this, I spoke with secretaries that fielded calls away from the sale rep. that had given me the guaranteed delivery. I left him a message. He never called me back.

Allied provided very poor customer service. It was very stressful to move, and unfortunately this company made it worse. I have a large move coming up in a month, and clearly will NOT use Allied.
