We were really disappointed with our first experience from a different moving company after they moved 1st part of our belongings, we had to wait with our boxes packed like forever before the movers showed up and the way they acted seemed like we owed them something or were working for them instead of them working for us. But after my experience with Allied Transportation Group I’ve gained back trust from the moving industry as not everyone is alike. These guys handled everything smoothly and professionally.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7900

We called this company and were told the reviews were good and they could be trusted, we were so wrong and mislead. We were given a quote based on our household item, estimated number of boxes, and distance of move. They quoted us just under $6k. Apparently the DOT standard is cost based on cubic feet, so that's the first misdirection they gave us.

Next, they outsourced the actual, physical move to a company called Insta Movers based out of Birmingham, AL. Allied's logistic team either didn't care about the reputation of their company or just didn't care about us. Insta Movers has one of the worst reputations across the internet and group of interstate movers that a "professional" moving company can have. Our costs went from $6k to $18k, so thank you so much for taking all of our money and giving it to a company I wouldn't trust rearranging a cabinet, let alone an packing up and moving an entire house.

Insta Movers had a single employee with a truck and 2 day laborers pack up our things. Meaning, the other 2 guys had zero liability packing up our household goods. Allied said they would pack non-perishable food items, Insta Movers said they don't. Allied said they would box up everything and we wouldn't need to worry about anything. Insta Movers informed us that was a separate service that was never discussed between them and Allied, more money out the window. The Insta Movers said "they were all done", and several times we had to walk them through the house, open drawers, closets, undo brackets for various household items they dismantled, and show them all the things they didn't pack. We still don't know where the hardware is for our beds because they have no idea where they put it.

Insta Movers paperwork showed a window of 10-21 days based on the distance of the move. Later that window changed from calendar days to business days. It was also a window based on the first available delivery date (not pickup date), which they didn't tell us. We tried to call Allied on multiple occasions to clarify where our stuff was and when it would be at our new house, we never got a call back. They would constantly tell us that "they will get in touch with Insta Movers and call us back", that never happened.

Insta Movers kept our stuff in some kind of storage facility for over a month before putting it on a truck. The person that delivered our stuff paid some random hitchhiker he found on the side of the road to unpack our household goods into our house. More than half of the boxes unloaded were crushed, damaged, or destroyed. Numerous items not loaded in boxes were damaged or destroyed. Custom frames, paintings, antique furniture, completely destroyed without regard or remorse.

Insta Movers won't answer our calls, Allied won't take responsibility for their horrible judgement in hiring Insta Movers. The amount of damage done to our personal property and the lack of care both of these moving companies have shown is disgusting. Do yourselves a favor and pick up a UHaul, pack your own boxes and move your own things.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $18662

Don't be fooled by the name Allied. On the initial phone call I told Victoria I had 4 storage units. 3 in one building and one in another. When the 2guys came, they knew nothing about a 4th unit at a different location. They didn't speak much English, so it was hard to communicate. One of the movers stepped on my grandmothers mirror, stuff was broken. They were looking at stuff on one of their phones and when unloading one of them was chatting on his phone. These people are not movers they are scam artists who overcharged me. They only packed and unloaded 2 units. I did a third. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS!!!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5222

It's amusing that they say the mess ups are rare, yet you are seeing the same complaints over and over. Interesting?Also, look at their answers and you will know how they will treat you as soon as you sign anything.

Same story as therest here: they give you a low ball estimate to get you stuck, don't seem to vet the movers they use (broke and lost so much), conveniently don't answer your call during pick-up so that you can argue the new, higher price, and then don't help you get your stuff back. They are no longer answering our calls, emails, etc.--I'm sure they will have excuses for you as to why we still haven't received the final piece of furniture after 5 weeks. It is THEIR ENTIRE JOB to take care of the logistics. You can call us, Allied, you absolutely have our number. Or maybe I do need to be more specific since you seem to have a number of people you have screwed over this fall/winter.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $5000

I strongly advise against doing business with these individuals. While they may appear exceptionally helpful initially, provide attractive quotes, and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate your schedule, the reality is far from ideal.

Our experience with Christopher, who initially signed us up and seemed wonderful,and was wonderful, for our move from LA to NYC, was particularly disappointing. He quoted us around $3,400 for the service. Two days before our move, I sent a detailed inventory spreadsheet, including an additional 8 boxes just in case, to Bruce. To my surprise, Bruce assured me, in his exact words, that 'unless your furniture is fit for a castle, this will be your final quote.'

However, on the day of the move, the situation took a drastic turn. The movers arrived and presented an entirely different inventory list, which closely resembled my original one. Bruce, the person responsible for this discrepancy, was nowhere to be found, and the Allie team appeared unresponsive and dismissive. Our initial quote suddenly doubled, and our requests for a clear receipt were ignored, which prompted our credit card company to consider a dispute.

Furthermore, the moving company, Movers Van Lines, proved to be equally problematic. We were initially told that our belongings would be stored close by in Jersey, ready for delivery when we secured our new place in Brooklyn. To our shock, when we finally found an apartment and contacted them to schedule the move-in, we learned that our items were stored in Vegas, contrary to their earlier assurances. Not only did they fail to provide a delivery date, but they also continued to charge us for storage.

In addition, the inability of Movers Van Lines to schedule our move-in, hindering our access to the elevator, added further frustration to the situation. Christopher, who initially assured us he would help, instead blocked us after we expressed our concerns.

Allied Transportation Group got their money, and now they are unresponsive. We are determined to challenge them legally.

If you are contemplating using their services, I strongly recommend recording all calls, obtaining written documentation of all agreements, and having an official quote provided in person. Be prepared for delays, misquotes, lies, lack of communication, and frustration. Given our experience, I also question the authenticity of other positive reviews, suspecting they may be connected to Allied's operations. Their business practices are shady and should be looked at by BBB.

I cannot stress strongly enough that Allied Transportation Group is totally the most horrible moving company in existence. I have dealt with multiple movers over the last 70 years, but never have I dealt with a company as dishonest as this one. When I read the horrible reviews, I questioned the company broker (Richard) about the bad reviews. He explained that it was the problem with customers under exaggerating the size of their load, and when their driver shows up there was more that estimated and overcharges were due. Richard explained that my load, where I had an exact number of boxes and dimensions of the several pieces of furniture, I would be fine.

I must state at this point that the contract you are required to sign specifies several cases that would result in overcharges. Trust me your move will result in every single one of the overcharges. That is how they make their money. If your move is between two addresses directly in the interstate, you will still be charged a “transfer fee” because the semi-truck cannot make it to address based on THEIR route, and their route is whatever they say.

You give them dimensions of a table, but at pick up the driver says that the table is “bulky”and a special “bulky fee” is owed. This means every couch, table, bed etc., that is in your move will be charged an extra “bulky fee”.

You measure every box and you know the volume of the load, but the driver says once your load gets on the truck the volume changes.? How is that possible?, well it is and you owe more money. Your contract allows for all the “unexpected” added charges, and they must be paid. If you cancel at pick up, you still have to pay and you are left in the lurch.

The contract also states the load will be inventoried, protected with straps, and moving pads, and will be delivered within 7-17 business days. However, none of these items occur. So, 22 days later you are just relieved to get your boxes. However, you also receive 7 boxes from someone else, your boxes (one labeled fragile Lamp shade) are open, and items added to them? Do you what your boxes delivered to someone else, and do you want to pay every possible upcharge to have that privilege. Then I suggest you use this moving company. However, if you want a safe and accountable moving company use anyone but this company

Heard about this company from a friend actually who used them a year ago and had a good experience. I researched their website online and looked through their reviews. I then sent them an email and they got right back to me. I filled out info online and talked to one of their customer service people as well. They really stayed on top of everything throughout my whole move. I was able to also send them a job reference number on their site and they then messaged me the exact location of my things mid move. They made my move effortless.

ATG is a scam of a company the person I talked to Samuel lead me to believe he worked at a moving company. They are broker that prey on innocent people just trying to move their stuff. They nickel and dime the crap out of you and bleed you dry of your hard earned money. My estimate started at $5400 then when the paperwork was signed it went to $5900 then we added stuff so it jumped again to $6700. So much for it being cheaper than doing it yourself. On our move date the people were late showing up by hour and half. Then the moving people proceeded to raise our price to $9500. Stating that ATG under estimated our initial price and the amount of stuff we had. So with our backs against the wall needing to be out that day. We had to cave to their demands knowing this was BS but had no way to move our stuff this late in the day. Our closing was on the next day the mover said if you’d called me directly you wouldn’t be getting charged these ridiculous charges that ATG implements. Stay as far away as possible from these people and any other broker moving scam. Make sure they are an actual moving company. They’re only out to drive up the price as high as possible to make their commissions checks as fat as possible at your expense. I have never felt so deceived as I do with these scum of the earth people. I can’t wait to see at delivery if they come up with more bogus charges to screw me with….

Crew was so professional, very polite and patient for our long the key wait and communication was brilliant. With the stress of the move and how important the day was, they reassured me and confirmed everything. For me this is great customer service, I have never moved in a chain before and they guided us though the process. As soon as we got the keys they were on their way to our new home, put carpet down to protect the floor and put the boxes in the rooms we requested. We have already recommended them to a few friends and would do so from now on. Thank you again guys for all your help!!
