Long-distance move from Miami, FL to Pueblo, CO

Brilliant Job!!

We had to move both furniture and a ton of small boxes. They created a plan, loaded in a logical order, and stacked everything carefully in the truck. Nothing shifted, and unpacking was easy because everything was labeled.

Long-distance move from Vicksburg, MS to Hayesville, NC

A nightmare!

This company had a 3 day delay the first scheduled pick up. Then stated load was three times over the estimate. When I questioned the amount the mover became belligerent and finally unloaded all furniture. Was sent a second mover and showed up in an open trailer! I refused to allow my furniture to be transported on an open trailer. Company refused any resolution and refused to return deposit. Terrible experience!

Official company response

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m truly sorry to hear that your move did not go as expected. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to resolving any issues fairly and professionally.

Regarding the delay on the first pickup, we acknowledge that any disruption to the agreed schedule is frustrating, and we apologize for the inconvenience. As for the estimate discrepancy, while weight and volume can vary from what’s initially quoted, the behavior you described from our mover is completely unacceptable. We do not tolerate unprofessional conduct and are investigating this internally.

The second attempt to complete your move should have met our standard of care and equipment. We understand your concern about the open trailer and agree that your furniture should be transported securely and safely.

Finally, we sincerely regret that you felt there was no resolution offered. We would like to review your case in more detail to see what steps can still be taken.

Long-distance move from Maher, CO to Detroit, MI

Brilliant service!

We chose these movers for moving some pieces of furniture and a few boxes from my parents' home to our home. I used their service, which by far offered the best value for money compared with any other moving company I took quotes from. I would wholeheartedly recommend these movers to anyone who is relocating or moving furniture. Their service is professional and speedy. Their staff is incredibly helpful and quick to reply. My furniture arrived without a scratch.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!

Complete nightmare from start to finish. Move was double the estimate, movers showed up with no packing material or boxes, truck showed up 11 hours late at 1:30am to load my house! I asked several times to be emailed information which I have still never received.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!

When I got the call that my things were ready to be delivered, I was charged a $1,750 Shuttle Fee because the truck the brought was too big. If I didn't pay, I didn't get my things.

30 of my items we damaged, broken or destroyed when I started unpacking. The Team delivering my items could not have cared less. They told me to call whoever packed it to complain. When I called Allied to file a complaint, I was told there is NO Complaint form! They told me to check my Homeowners Insurance. Absolutely no help.

Soma Trans LLC and Dimbas LLC were the two companies they used to move my things. $20K is what it cost in the end. I have over $4K worth of damage to my belongings that I will never see. Furniture, pottery, artwork, all destroyed. The worst most unprofessional company I have ever had the great unfortune to work with. DO NOT believe anything that they tell you, It Is a LIE!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!

No good.

Beware! They are NOT a moving company and not to be mistaken for Allied Moving. They are a broker. Why is this important? Because as soon as they sell the service they wipe their hands clean of any responsibility or help if anything goes sideways with the move. Which in my case it did. I have over 2k in damage and the movers they selected offered me initially 50 bucks! Then changed it to 100! What a joke, If I was you, liquidate your belongings and start over, or go with someone else if your care for your belongings. 100 bucks…haha.

Long-distance move from Houma, LA to Port Charlotte, FL

SCAMMERS

Do not believe their "good" reviews. They probably use a third party to either remove negative reviews or fake accounts to post positive reviews - Research them on Yelp and BBB.

We hired Allied to assist in the move from our small office in Louisiana to Florida. We provided the list of furniture that needed to be moved and were given an estimate of $1841. This amount was paid in full at the signing of the contract. We received notice the mover would be available to pick up our items that following Tuesday. As we are a business, we had a representative available to meet the mover. I was then notified that the mover had an increased estimate. I’m an understanding and reasonable person, I understood that there might be an increase based on the amount of space the items take up. But the increase went from $1800 to $8200. He stated our furniture would take up a full 26 foot truck which typically can hold a 3-4 bedroom house.

When I asked for a copy of the estimate I was given a handwritten note with no real explanation of the costs. According to the movers, the quote is based on what they visually see. I requested an itemized breakdown and received photos of all the items we originally listed. A few items he provided pictures of were not to be included in the move. I was told I needed to speak with Allied to discuss the quote. I call Allied and speak with Daniel Summers who stated that he needed to review the documents and quotes from the movers. I expressed my frustration as our company is now losing money due to their original calculation for space being inaccurate. He hung up on me. I call back, no answer. Send a text. No answer. The following Thursday I get a text from Daniel telling me to call the movers. I explained I was out sick with Covid but was waiting to hear back from him in regards to the estimate the mover gave us. His response “They gave you a revised. They are picking you up. Please call them. He gave you a new quote. CALL THEM BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ANSWEING THEM. They are the movers. CALL THEM!!!!” I explained to him that I was waiting for his response; PLUS the mover had only called me once which I responded to him via text.

Since this occurred, I received a voicemail from one of their reps stating we were due a refund. I have had to hire another company to move the furniture. Their company will not respond to me via email. And they are still refusing to refund the $1841 we paid up front - more than the required deposit.

We have filed complaints against them on BBB without resolution. We want to cancel the contract and get our money back. This company is a scam. They scammed us for the money and have left us losing money as a company. They are rude and unprofessional.

Long-distance move from Castle Rock, CO to Lithia Springs, GA

A devastating experience with these liars and crooks

IF ALLIED CHEATED YOU, EMAIL ALLIEDTGCLASSACTION@GMAIL.COM.

Warning: This is NOT Allied Van Lines, the reputable decades-old movers. From the reviews it appears that some people have mistakenly left positive reviews for this company that were intended for Allied Van Lines.

But “Allied” called us, and, after my fiancée said her parents had used Allied for 20+ years, the rep let her falsely believe the 11-mo.-old broker was the same Allied, never mentioning they weren’t movers. $3450 later, Allied didn’t provide the legally required list of movers nor identify the movers, Houston-based Visions, a.k.a. Royal Transport and other DBAs (with an BBB grade of F and myriad horror stories on the web). Instead, they said to have cash, money order or cashier’s check when they arrived, which we later discovered is a highly dubious practice. After compelling us to sign a bill of lading (BOL) with Visions, Allied told us their name.

Visions co-owner Victor arrived by U-Haul. Throughout the day, he assured us that Allied’s mistaken double-count of 18 bins meant abundant space for extra items to fill the 1130 cu ft. Only when I asked at one point did Victor say they were full. With a huge overestimate, they nonetheless couldn’t load the remaining 20% of our items FROM THE ESTIMATE without nearly $4000 more, 70% now! With box size estimates far exceeding actual sizes and NO oversized furniture, we were shocked. No, we couldn’t pay cash now and would have to scramble to move the rest to GA from CO. Victor’s reply: “Not my problem.”

There’s more.

Having us agree to buy 1 $135 shrink wrap roll - which “should take care of all of it” – and 2 $80 crates, he charged for 3 rolls, 6 crates and both sets of stairs when the estimate included one free. After arguing, he “did [us] a favor” by reducing somewhat the extra charges while threatening to unload the truck if we didn’t agree to this extortion.

Victor clearly stated delivery would be at least a week after a FADD of 7/25, because “no way” a truck could arrive by even 7/26 when it was 7/18. But the only FADD in writing was 8/23 on our binding estimate.

2 days later, Victor reiterated by phone that delivery would be a week or more after 7/25. After I shared that we had to postpone our departure to rent a truck, he put me on hold to “contact the driver,” then revealed that delivery would be on 7/25 or 26, and if no one could take delivery, he’d charge storage and redelivery fees, likely in the $1000s!

We’d yet have hard copy paperwork from Visions or Allied - only an image of the BOL after signing it and a binding estimate PDF. Despite no written FADD, Victor insisted on 7/25. Victor then texted a copy of the BOL with his signature and a FADD of “7/25/22” scribbled in AFTER my fiancée had signed. FRAUD!!!

When we informed Allied’s Daniel Summers, he ignored us, then days later said that we weren’t his only customers and he’d take care of us when he could. Finally, he responded, indignantly refusing to help except to provide us with paperwork. He never did.

Only after help from Tom Martino’s radio show did Victor and driver Sam work out a FADD and guarantee not to charge storage and redelivery. They agreed to send a picture of our goods on the truck before arrival but REFUSED to demand payment to open it to let us see if our items are there! When I protested, Victor said if we didn’t like it, he’d auction our items.

UPDATE:

Moving the remaining items costs us almost $5500.

The movers? 225 cu ft of boxes, bins, & furniture did not show up; broken antiques; crushed FRAGILE boxes on the bottom of stacks; broken items in boxes; open boxes missing items; our mattress with urine and mold on it; someone apparently kicked in and broke the foot off the white vanity; a precious antique dresser and family heirloom that was “crated” splintered in the back. We did not include all the pictures here for sake of space. I could go on about this, but it’s too tearjerking at this point.

After months of trying, neither Visions nor Allied has provided means to file a claim. Daniel agreed to send a link but then hasn’t and ignores my texts.

BL: Allied - liars & crooks partnering with liars & crooks to rip you off! STAY AWAY!!!

Official company response

Lets address each issue/claim one by one....
1. Every review on our page is from an ACTUAL customer. There is not one review that is mistakenly left for any other company.
2. No one asked for a list of carriers. We are only required to have a list of carriers available to you.
3. We have our company name written on every document you sign at the time of booking. It is also on all the documents emailed to you before your pickup. There should of been no confusion of who you booked your move with.
4. The forms of payment for pickup and delivery were outlined in the estimate [signed by you] as well as in the email sent to you titled "Verification and Important Information Regarding your Move!" The payment options you listed are the CORRECT payment options for ALL Household Goods Interstate Carriers.
5. "After compelling us to sign a bill of lading (BOL)" -- This is the law. Must be signed 3 days before pickup according to the FMCSA.
6. 90% of all pickups for long distance, interstate moves are picked up in your typical U-Haul, Penske, Ryder since they are then taken back to the local warehouse and reloaded into a semi and sent for delivery.
7. I don't know how we are the ones who mistakenly counted your items, when the inventory was given to us by YOU or a family member at the time of booking and WAS SIGNED OFF ON STATING IS WAS CORRECT. IF INCORRECT, it should not of been signed or it should have been amended at the time of your Quality Assurance Call with Adrienne on 7/13/22 but at the time of your call with her, you stated that you needed to get a good box count and call back the next day. You refused to pay the additional amount to add all the items that were sent to Adrienne, therefore your estimate went up when those items were added at pickup. You paid for the space and volume you took up.
8. Shrink wrap is not provided (also outlined in your signed estimate as well as in the verification email).
The other issues outlined in your above review will be addressed. We are very sorry that you incurred damages and are missing some items. This has to be filed by claim with Visions.
We have not heard anything from you since 8/2022. Everything else you outlined is standard practice in the industry and the information was sent to you multiple times. All of this can be sent as backup.

Do Not Use

I will forever scream it from the rooftops not to use this horrible company. I wish I had looked further into the reviews when I used them and saw they are just padded with their own fake 5 star reviews. If you read all the negative reviews they all have the same theme. Thia company will charge you a butt ton more money than the estimate they give you but not until after they've gotten all your items loaded up pn the back of one of their trucks. They will break items during the loading process and not tell you, you'll only learn later when you look at the cameras because you find a bunch of glass in your yard after they leave.

They will tell you upper management will give you a call by the end of the week and 2 months will pass by with no call from management.

You can leave tons of voicemail and text messages that will go unanswered.

They will give you multiple dates for your stuff to be delivered and then not call or come on said dates.

I am a single mom who was leaving a bad situation and instead of that being a smooth process it has added more undo stress to my kids and I.

I've made a BBB complaint and now my next step is contacting local news outlets as I'm sure there is a story based on the number of 1 star reviews that all state the same bait and switch estimate tactics.

Official company response

I want to start by sincerely apologizing for the distressing experience you’ve described. Moving is already a major life event—especially in a difficult personal situation—and I’m truly sorry that our service added stress instead of helping to ease your transition.

Your concerns about inaccurate estimates, poor communication, property damage, and unfulfilled promises from management are deeply troubling. That is not the standard we hold ourselves to, and I assure you that your review is being taken seriously.

We do not condone bait-and-switch pricing tactics, and if a team member or process failed you in this regard, that needs to be addressed. Transparency, respect, and accountability are core values we strive for, and it's clear from your review that we missed the mark in multiple areas. I am also personally concerned about the claim of broken items and lack of response from our team—there is no excuse for that kind of customer experience.

While I know no message can undo the frustration and disappointment you’ve gone through, I would still like the opportunity to speak with you directly, review your case in full, and find a resolution that reflects the seriousness of your concerns.

Long-distance move from Las Vegas, NV to Horseheads, NY

Unfair Business Practices and Unethical

My experience with Allied Transportation Group (not to be construed with Allied Van Lines) was nothing short of a nightmare. Anyone who is thinking of using this company, please reconsider. I initially spoke with Samuel Goldstein (Senior Logistics Coordinator) who provided me an estimate based upon the property I planned on having them move, which was right around $5,503. While speaking with him he told me that the estimate includes the movers disassembling any furniture, wrapping and packing everything and then placing it onto the truck. He also told me that the movers would walk through the house, video and inventory everything. He told me that my items would be stored in a climate controlled storage facility near my final destination, and they would re-deliver within 300 miles. I was told that the storage wouldn’t be more than about $300 a month, after the initial 30 days of storage they provide. So far this all sounded pretty good (this should have been a red flag for me). Prior to the move date I updated the inventory with some stuff I forgot to add, and this increased the estimate by a few thousand dollars. When the move date arrived, I expected an actual marked moving truck to show up. However, I was greeted by two guys in a rented Penske Truck (this should have been another red flag, as they weren’t in a company truck). The movers filled the truck about ¾ of the way, and then told me there was a problem. I asked what the problem was, and they said I was only quoted for 1269 cubic feet, even though I provided a very thorough inventory and even accounted for extra room. However, I was told that the inventory is based on DOT standards. At this point the truck was already ¾ full, so I had to pay a litle over $2,500 to have them put the rest of my property on the truck, which put me at 1,800 cubic feet. When the truck was filled and the movers were ready, I was told by their driver Mat that they would be taking our property from Nevada and starting their drive across the country. However, prior to the move, we placed an Apple Airtag in our property and noticed it was located in a storage unit within our hometown, in a high crime area (which I was well aware of based upon my profession). The next day I spoke with Noah Carberg (Customer Service) and explained to him that I was told that our items would be stored in a climate-controlled facility close to our final destination. I was told by him that they store in near the point of origin until redelivery. I was flat out lied to by both the driver Matt and the Sales Representative Samuel who told me our items would be stored near our final destination. I was also told storage would be around $900/month after the first 30 days. Therefore, I decided to pay for a storage unit on my own, close to the final destination. It took the company 29 days to relocate our items to my own storage unit. I saved the company the extra step of not having to deliver my items to a house, and reassemble as well. When the items arrived to the storage unit, I met with the driver and when he opened the truck, I immediately noticed three flattened boxes, which had originally contained our items. I asked the driver about the boxes, and he told me that they were in the storage unit at the point of origin in that condition. I later found the items that was in the boxes scattered throughout the truck (the movers were too lazy or didn’t even care to repack the box). During the unloading process I noticed a damaged TV stand, and some damaged to a few articles of my furniture. After enduring the headache of dealing with the company I spent almost double the amount of money I was quoted for. This company uses unethical and unfair business practices and will straight up lie to you, to get your business. At the end of the day, they don’t care about the customer, but how they can make money off them. I hope this serves as a caution to anyone considering using this company. Please consider paying the extra money for a more reputable and legitimate company. Also, I requested to speak with the owner on several occasions but was denied.
