      WORST MOVING COMPANY

Alliance Van Lines and their contracted movers, MOVE On Movers, are THE WORST! My move fron Nevada to Florida was 6/27. The movers came a half hour after my alloted window. I was charged $500 more because I had more boxes than I stated. Fine. 2 days later I was called and asked for the first date I would be available for delivery. I was sent an email to fill in the date and I replied 7/6.

I live in NY so I hightailed it to Orlando to wait for my delivery. When there was no delivery I called the number that's supposed to be the dispatch line and was promised a call back within 48 hours. 2 weeks later and daily calls from me, no call back from them. I called a random number of theirs and was told that someone would call me back regarding delivery date. After a week of no calls I called them, only to be told that they have no trucks and my goods are at their warehouse. Why couldn't they be upfront with me? The last time I called I was told I should get stuff by the 26th.

This is the worst service I've ever had and if I'd done my homework it could have been avoided.

I would encourage anyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Would give negative stars if possible

Do NOT use Alliance for moving. It takes more time than they estimated and more expensive than they estimate.

Initially it was great, I had an accurate count and they adjusted my price based on the count. Verbally, Chris from Alliance said that we have to tell you 1-10 business days, but it usually takes about 3 business days. I was going to share a truck going yo/from the same states as me. I thought great, that’ll work out well with when I start my job.

Three days before my estimated move date, I was at work when I was called and unable to answer. I proceeded to get three calls in a row (within 10 seconds of the phone no longer ringing, it would start ringing again) until I answered to give an updated inventory. I was also then told that I need to have cash or a US postal service check for the moving company. I was told with my initially contract that I could pay with a credit card, but then they said nope, they need cash when they pick up and drop off so they have money for gas and food. That should’ve tipped me off, but I had my cash ready for when they would arrive. The moving truck comes and turns out it is not Alliance, but rather a business that Alliance contracts with.…

Bait and Switch - they will take your money

WARNING!!! AVOID!!! They will provide you with a great quote and then show up and try to charge you way more. I started out at $4200.00 then I did the review again before the move and they increased the price to $5500.00 I thought that would at least be safe, they showed up and wanted $11,000.00 to move me. They said I had way more stuff than what was quoted. Of course, I said I cannot pay this much I don't have it. So they tried to find another mover to do it for cheaper and they cam e back to me at $9000.00 on top of my $800.00 deposit. I explained I cannot afford it as I don't have the money for this. Of course they said ok if you reject the offer we are keeping your deposit. So I lost $800.00 and had to rent a truck and move it myself. Now mind you my original quote was for 1200 cubic feet and after the movers showed up they said it was 2300 cubic feet and thats why my price went up so much. So the original quote was almost 100% off. You would think they would have an idea when you provide a detailed inventory. They do not know what they are doing. To make matters worse, I packed all of my belongings in a 26ft truck to approximately 1700 cubic feet. So after the movers did a…

      Awful

Our initial experience with Alliance started off well—but it quickly went downhill. They brokered our move to a company with a reputation for damaging belongings and failing to deliver on time.

Our delivery was over two weeks late, and when it finally arrived, many items were soaking wet and damaged. Even the movers, who were subcontracted by Move On ( move on is the company subcontracted by alliance) admitted this kind of mishandling is typical for them.

When we tried to contact Move On, they hung up immediately. Alliance, our original point of contact, has been equally unhelpful. We trusted them to handle our move professionally, but instead, they partnered with unreliable companies and put our entire move—and belongings—at risk.

Awful, Deceitful Company - Stay Far Away!!

I was duped into booking with Alliance Van Lines by their flashy sales pitch that they would be by my side and taking care of me every step of the way with my move. I’m almost 100% certain that I was told there was no middle man with Alliance when I first spoke with an agent about an estimate, which is what reeled me in but was completely false.

They sold my contract to another moving company, Road Runner, who is a nightmare to work with. After having to go back and forth on payment types, the movers showed up on the day of pick up only to tell me that there was no way my items would fit in the square footage they had allotted to me based on my estimate (without even seeing my items!!) and then started their spiel about service fees that I was promised were part of the “white glove” service. Road Runner wanted to charge me another $1000 that I did not have to bring everything that was listed on my itinerary!! I ended up having to leave a lot of my items back in California and I was moving cross-country to Georgia.

It took a full month to receive my items and I am convinced that it is only because I stayed on top of them and constantly pestered them and threatened complaints…

Long-distance move from New Castle, KY to Minneapolis, MN

Stress Free move

I had moving assistance from Jerry and Richards, and I was astounded by how quickly they handled my belongings. Knowing that they had carefully protected and cushioned my furniture pieces, which had not been damaged throughout my transfer, made me feel secure. I also valued their willingness to put together my bed frames after they arrived at my flat. Without hiring Alliance Van Lines my move would not have been nearly as easy or stress-free. The customer service was outstanding from the time I made my initial enquiry until I was put up in my apartment. Kudos

Extremely Grateful!

Used Alliance Van Lines to move house. Even though I provided late confirmation of the move date, they were very accommodating and reassuring. They moved many items, including fragile items and sofas, and I did not have a single breakage or damage. The staff was accommodating and asked us where we wanted each item in our new house. I would highly recommend this service.

The movers truly exceeded all expectations with their exceptional service! I cannot express enough gratitude for their efforts and the positive impact it had on my overall experience, especially how they came before the time and told me about the estimate and where to keep my things. If the occasion were to arise, I would unquestionably request their services once more.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Florida

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS OR IT WILL COST YOU!!!

Basically, I contracted with Alliance Van Lines and gave them a list of what we were moving. Based on that list, they estimated 817 cf. and I paid them a deposit of $1180.

A few days before the move, after all was packed, we revised the list to 931 cf. I paid them another deposit of $789.39 for the difference . That left a balance of $2506.62, half of which they said I would pay on the day of the move and the other half when our items were delivered to Florida.

The company actually doing the move, their sub contracted “Expert” Movers from NJ, came on the day before our closing time. When 90% of our items were loaded onto their box truck, he said “we’ve reached the 931cf limit. I estimate it will be about another 300 cf left”. I protested and called Alliance. Alliance Dispatch was on speakerphone with them and all Alliance could say was I needed another binding estimate from “Expert” Movers to move forward. They did not challenge their figures which they themselves calculated based on the exact list that we provided. 300 cf is 1/3 more space than what was already loaded. The driver said it would be about an extra $1200 and they wanted cash. Then he called his office and said, “just give us $1000 extra". I said absolutely not. Since they had most of our belongings on the truck and we needed to vacate before noon the next day at closing, I was in a bind, so I adamantly said, "only $800 extra. I don’t care how you figure that out, but that’s it.” So he adjusted the final cf to 1156 cf based on the amount of money, not any accurate measurement at all. They left and I figured I’d take the issue up with Alliance and “Expert” Movers. On our way to Florida down I-95, I spent hours on the phone with both companies stating that there was no way we had 1/3 more cf than what Alliance had agreed upon and that the 1156 cf figure was based on a dollar amount, not a measurement. So all Alliance said all they could do was to have “Expert” Movers remeasure the load before delivery (it was taken to their wear house in NJ to be loaded on to a tractor trailer). They came back saying 1156 cf was the accurate measurement, and at that point Alliance bowed out. “Expert” movers agreed to reduce the $800 extra cost by $100, so I owed them $700 at this point in addition to what I owed Alliance.

When the tractor trailer pulled up, he demanded cash or no unload at our destination. I paid it and we got our belongings, some damaged as well.

After contacting the Florida AG's office, a representative and I spoke with John Edwards, Alliance's dispatch manager. All he could say was that the 1156 cf was an accurate measurement according to their sub contracted movers, refused to admit it was not accurate as it was never measured at my home, and was exactly the same in the warehouse in NJ with "Expert" Movers but based on an adjusted cf figure from a dollar amount at my home. Sound accurate to you? He said without pictures there was nothing he could do in spite of "doing the right thing". Stay away from these unethical people!
