Awful Experience, Avoid At All Costs

Never again; learnt my lesson.

The scam they run is the following: they will pick up your furniture in timely fashion because once they do, they essentially hold you hostage. It's been almost 30 days since they picked up my furniture and still waiting for delivery.

First I was told delivery would take place between Tuesday June 8th to Thursday June 10th. On Thursday, I got a call saying will take place on Friday June 11th. On Friday they call and tell me delivery is guaranteed to occur on Sunday June 13th between 11AM-4PM. I had a wedding to attend on Sunday but I just wanted to get this over and done with, so I ate the cost of the airfare (couldn't get a refund) and missed my friend's wedding. It is now 7:45PM on Sunday and STILL no delivery.

I'm just too exhausted to even be angry at this point. Moving is always an awful experience but these people love making it worse.

These people seriously do not care: they already have your deposit, the pick-up fee, and they are happy to forgo the last payment since they are holding tens of thousands of dollars of your property.

It is Sunday right now. I've been waiting for these people since 11AM. They called at 3PM saying they'll be heading to my place next. It is now 7:45PM and nothing.

I missed the wedding, lost my airfare, have done nothing but waiting around, and they can't even dignify themselves to let me know what's up. And entire Sunday just wasted, couldn't even go to the grocery store just waiting for them.

I cannot even begin to think what an awful pain it'll be when they actually deliver and not everything is there.

Heartbreaking Deception

Alliance was booked to pick up estate pieces from my deceased parents estate. They did not pick up on date promised and would not commit to another date. I ended up losing the items as house was sold and I had no other options to move items interstate. Broken hearted, disappointed do not touch my feelings. Avoid this deceitful company at all costs.

Long-distance move from Fall Creek, WI to Vail, AZ

Left me high and dry

It all started off well. Customer service answered questions and I received all my answers. Then I realized they are brokers after I signed contract and paid down payment in January 2021 for a move in May 2021. The two day window of my move date came. No call on the first day. No call on the second day. When I called customer service they said the stop before me severely under declared their items and he will talk to driver to see if he can fit my 560 cu ft load. No call back. Finally I called back and the lady said they wouldn’t be able to pick up my load. Thankfully my house closing was pushed back. I then asked her if it can be guaranteed within a 12 day window and she couldn’t guarantee it. Now because I followed all rules I got bumped because of an inconsiderate person also on my load. Without hesitation she offered my money back with zero offer to help find a truck. Even after I stated I am 1,800 miles from my stuff and have to start back at the beginning trying to find a mover. Nice customer service. At least she was polite and I did receive my down payment in a timely manner.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!! I moved from Ohio to Florida, they picked my things up on April 17th and I asked if they could deliver them to me on April 22 they movers said "they'll call you and schedule...I got my stuff on May 28th I called them almost everyday. They would just say we have no updates. After all of my stuff was loaded in the truck they had me sign this crazy contract.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

This is not a legit moving company and they don’t tell you that when you sign up. They give you a two day window, and tell you they will call the day before they are coming for pickup. Well my two days passed, missed my flight and now I am forced to sell all my stuff. They told me they may not get a mover to me for a week, if not at all. The people who move you and alliance and two different people that’s why it’s so cheap. Please please do not use this company!!!! I am all alone across the country from family and friends and am stuck. Avoid this company or you will have the most stressful move of your entire life. I can’t even imagine how horrible it would go if they actually did pick up my stuff and if I ever saw it again

Would give negative stars if possible

Do NOT use Alliance for moving. It takes more time than they estimated and more expensive than they estimate.

Initially it was great, I had an accurate count and they adjusted my price based on the count. Verbally, Chris from Alliance said that we have to tell you 1-10 business days, but it usually takes about 3 business days. I was going to share a truck going yo/from the same states as me. I thought great, that’ll work out well with when I start my job.

Three days before my estimated move date, I was at work when I was called and unable to answer. I proceeded to get three calls in a row (within 10 seconds of the phone no longer ringing, it would start ringing again) until I answered to give an updated inventory. I was also then told that I need to have cash or a US postal service check for the moving company. I was told with my initially contract that I could pay with a credit card, but then they said nope, they need cash when they pick up and drop off so they have money for gas and food. That should’ve tipped me off, but I had my cash ready for when they would arrive. The moving truck comes and turns out it is not Alliance, but rather a business that Alliance contracts with. I then had to renegotiate my estimate because they said while my count was accurate, the Alliance estimate was “too low” for space. They tried to charge me for things that Alliance said I would not be charged for: blankets for furniture moving, using an elevator (I saved you stairs and you want to charge me?!), mattress covers (I bought them and they didn’t want to use mine but rather their own). My stuff was then put into a warehouse… and it stayed there for 20 days. Why on earth did you need cash the day of when you drove only an hour to go to a warehouse and then my stuff was stored for a few weeks?!

After my requisite 3 business days that I was verbally told by Alliance, and not hearing anything, I called Alliance to get an estimate of when my things might get moved. They have no estimate other than they are looking for a truck/driver—wait, what happened to the truck that was going to/from the same states as me that I was to share with?!

I called the warehouse that my stuff was mysteriously stored at, and they told me it would be 1-21 business days and they had no estimate. I said, but my contract says 1-10 business days and they said “we legally have 1-21 business days” and it did not matter what my contract said because theirs says 1-21 business days. When I called back Alliance a few days later, they told me they had already talked about this with me and nothing had changed.

It took almost 3 weeks before my things arrived. I had damaged items (well packed boxes were smashed down, large plastic bins were cracked) and I was missing boxes and plastic storage containers (as well as got a few boxes that weren’t mine I later realized). I filed a claim, but based on how this company operates, I already know that I will not be reimbursed well.

Very unhelpful to be starting in a new place, have terrible customer service, and have your things in limbo. Would never use Alliance again, and would not recommend them. Always, always read the fine print and do NOT let anyone rush your through reading a contract.

Well Done

Alliance Van Lines was such a convenient and professional service! I requested them to move a heavy TV stand, and they were able to schedule something the same day. My team lead Glenn was communicative about their arrival, and the move went seamlessly. Glenn and Davis were experienced, respectful and professional, and we couldn't have moved that piece without them! Would recommend. I have referred these guys to my sister- who is my neighbor- and she's going to use them too after 3 weeks.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to Denver, CO

Total Chaos, No communication, they are a broker

Moving from Phoenix to Denver. Make sure you have detailed itemized lists before they give you an estimate. Movers arrived, told us they didn't have enough room in the truck. The company they contracted with to move us did not have the final inventory. Alliance has zero control on the cubic feet so the final bill may be hundreds of $$'s off. Original quote was around $2,100...will probably end up paying around $3,100....and lots of headache. Keep in mind it is not Alliance Van Lines moving you. They are just a broker who finds other moving companies, pass along the cost plus their cut. I would highly recommend going directly to the moving companies and skip this Broker.

Highly Recommended!!

The two-man crew, David and Williams, arrived on time and got to work right away. They were fantastic! Hard, efficient workers who took care of my furnishings and boxes. They completed well within the predicted time, and I feel like I got a steal. And they were done by noon, leaving me the whole day to get settled. They are the best. I highly recommend them. Moving is stressful, and Alliance Van Lines made the experience positive and peaceful.

Long-distance move from Jersey City, NJ to Ellicott City, MD

Inaccurate quote and unnecessary headache

I needed to move from New Jersey to Maryland and was quoted approximately $1700 to move from my 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment. I filled out an inventory two weeks before the move and was told that I could pay with a cashier's check. However, on moving day, I was told that I had to pay cash and that the new moving cost would instead be approximately $2200. I was quite upset with this inconsistency, and to add insult to injury, not all my items were packed into the truck despite the agreed-upon inventory. My things got to Maryland in one piece, but the movers broke the door sign. I have learned my lesson and will never use these movers again. I would also highly discourage others from hiring Allied Van Lines as well.

Long-distance move from San Antonio, TX to Hopewell Junction, NY

Worst "Company" Ever

If I could give less than one star, I would.

I am going to start by saying - do your research before picking a moving company. Unfortunately, I did not. This was by far the most unprofessional "company" I have ever spoken to in my life.

I booked my move with Alliance Van Lines on July 15th. This was for a window of August 30th-31st 2021. When these dates arrived, I did not hear anything from Alliance.

When Thursday, 09/02/2021 came around, I called to check on the pickup. I spoke with a woman named "Asia", who informed me they were working on my move and it would take "less than a week to find a truck to pickup my belongings." I understand that things may have been delayed with Hurricane Ida, so I was patient and waited through the Holiday weekend. However, I heard nothing. I called Alliance again Wednesday, 09/08/2021 and there were no updates to my move.

Out of frustration, I requested to cancel my move. I called back within the half hour to see if we could un-do the cancellation. I was speaking with "Cassidy." We had agreed that I would look for other movers while Alliance works on my move, and if I find movers that can provide service sooner, I would cancel and receive my deposit. About 10 minutes after hanging up with Cassidy, she calls me back to say the refund was already processed and Alliance can no longer work on my move. I told her that was fine and thanked her.

I then received a call on 09/08 from Dispatch not five minutes after my chat with Cassidy. A man named "Andrew" had called me saying they actually did not process my refund and they can continue to look for a truck to complete my move. He told me he had found a truck that was picking up a shipment in Austin, TX, and could pick up my belongings on 09/17/2021. He said he would not have called me and would have just processed the refund if he was not confident that the pickup could happen on 09/17/2021. I said this was fine.

I spoke with Andrew later that day again as well, as I had found a BBB Accredited company that will help with my move sooner for similar cost (U-Pack). I asked if there was any compensation given for my move being it was over a week later than I had signed for. Andrew informed me that I was eligible for $25-$50 a day since the day after my pickup window (beginning 09/01). This would be an approximate $600 reimbursement not including holidays or weekends, assuming $50/Day. I asked Andrew if that was fine and he said yes. I asked for this in writing, which I received from Cassidy on 09/09/2021 via email. I was waiting on this written confirmation prior to signing the new contract that was given to me for the 09/17/2021 move- however, I (luckily) never got around to signing the new contract for 09/17 pickup.

I received a phone call on 09/09/2021 at around 12:35 PM EST. Another man from dispatch had called me to inform me that I am NOT eligible for compensation and that Andrew was apparently mistaken. He informed me that Alliance would refund my money for deposit, and that doing a $25-$50/day compensation would not be possible although I have in writing that it would be. I, of course, cancelled the entire move and received my refund (which did come through.)

It is absolutely unacceptable to be over a week late with something like moving, and further, relaying false information about compensation due to a late pickup -- ESPECIALLY when it is given in writing. Alliance Van Lines did not even have the decency to call me to inform me if there was any delays. My time was well wasted.

Upon further research of Alliance Van Lines, it seems that this entire "company" is a type of Ponzi scheme anyway. Per opencorporates.com , this company's president is "Samhaka Inc" with a chairman and secretary of "Cointech Inc." It is impossible to find any of the workers on LinkedIn or any legitimate website, leading me to believe that they do not go by their real names. It is impossible to even find a CEO or real president of Alliance Van Lines, and they have hidden domain registry.

All in all, do not use this company. Stick with moving companies that are at least BBB accredited, which Alliance Van Lines is not. Look for a DOT number. Anything. Do NOT let this sham of a company handle your move.

I would highly recommend this company. They were very responsive concerning the quote, gave me quick and accurate information; their price was reasonable. Calls for a moving quote

This company was not called for a quote but continually called me to give one. I was told to send them my lowest quote and they’d beat it by 20%. These bait and switch tactics are common in low end companies and to be continually badgered by their salesman is an unacceptable business practices. I called and asked to speak with a manager and they transferred me to the same salesman. I told him to transfer me to his manager and the manager defended his business practices. I told him I could not believe he was defending his salesperson, told him I would not do business with them and I’d leave a review about my experience. Here ya go, do not use this company!!!

Fantastic Mover!

Wrapped all wood furniture with a blanket then covered it in plastic wrap. It took approximately 2 hrs. 45 min to move a Two-bedroom apartments to another Two-bedroom apartments located within a miles away. Both apartments had an elevator. We had Gaylord, he is excellent (now I had my second move with him). They did outstanding work, worked hard, and fast and were very careful with all of my furniture. They are well worth the money!

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. We ordered a move from NYC to Naples at the end of February 2022. They originally quoted us $3500 and it ended up being $7000 when they arrived and looked at what needed to be moved. It was a bait and switch. I saw them moving my furniture and boxes half hazardly. They were stacking heavy boxes on top of other boxes that said "fragile". And rolling the boxes over and over to get it on to the truck. I was outside where they didn't see me as I watched them treating my boxes like garbage. They only were delicate once I walked up to them. The movers themselves kept peaking over my shoulder during the drop off process as well when I was on my computer and asking me personal questions about what I did for a living. Very inappropriate. And they disassembled an expensive sewing machine without my consent that is worth $5000 and I keep finding little pieces in separate bins. I still can't find all of the pieces, making this sewing machine useless. Also, I have a broken book shelf, secretary desk, large fan, and countless other things I'm still going through. And I am informed that they pay for broken items at 60 cents per pound. That is a useless insurance policy. ALSO, the broker that books with them is equally incompetent and shady. On the phone the broker promised a 3-5 day shipment. After the moving pickup, I come to find out the moving company says it could take 30 days and they never deliver in 3-5 days. So I didn't have my furniture for weeks. And when I called the broker, they said "that promise was on the phone, you can't prove we said that." I could have spent the same amount of money somewhere else with competent movers. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. BEWARE.

Do not use Alliance, absolutely awful

I have moved five times before, using other moving companies, and have never had any issues. Alliance sounded promising on the phone, and I reviewed my items with them several times, provided detailed descriptions, and asked how much it would be to add and subtract certain items. I was given an estimate that was in the lower third of the estimates I received, and decided to go with Alliance, as they assured me that they were confident with the estimate.

The day of the move was hectic. The movers kept complaining about my treadmill, which had previously been moved without issue. They also asked me if it was ok to scratch up the walls, to which I responded that it was not.

They then charged me more than double what the estimate had been. This was especially surprising as I had overestimated what I would be moving when speaking with the customer rep, and so did not expect that the cost would be over the estimate, let alone almost three times as much. At this point all my belongings were on the truck and I was set to leave the state, and so had no option but to pay what they charged.

They delivered a week later, which seemed great, but only sent one mover. They then asked if I had neighbors who could help with the heavy lifting, which I do not have and is part of the reason I hired movers in the first place. They ended up calling the gardeners working next door to help. Overall, a move that should’ve taken less than two hours took almost six hours. They did not reconstruct some of the items moved, and broke others. This was overall a terrible and overpriced experience, and I will be reporting the company.

Terrible Company

In my opinion, this company is terrible! They screwed my visually impaired disabled vet daughter out of over $2,000. At pick up the driver demanded an additional $680for oversized pieces and refused to review the detailed inventory with me. He also demanded another $700 be paid at delivery. The company was to to only use a straight truck at both locations but showed up with a semi at delivery. This driver demanded another $700 to transfer the load. What could she do, he was holding her goods. I sent certified letters the the Ft. Lauderdale office and to two shell companies listed as owners. NO RESPONSE. I filed a complaint with BBB but the company refused to address these excess charges, Again, in my opinion this is an unscrupulous company and I say buyer beware. The only reason for the one star rating is the system won't let me post zero stars

WORST MOVING COMPANY

Alliance Van Lines and their contracted movers, MOVE On Movers, are THE WORST! My move fron Nevada to Florida was 6/27. The movers came a half hour after my alloted window. I was charged $500 more because I had more boxes than I stated. Fine. 2 days later I was called and asked for the first date I would be available for delivery. I was sent an email to fill in the date and I replied 7/6.

I live in NY so I hightailed it to Orlando to wait for my delivery. When there was no delivery I called the number that's supposed to be the dispatch line and was promised a call back within 48 hours. 2 weeks later and daily calls from me, no call back from them. I called a random number of theirs and was told that someone would call me back regarding delivery date. After a week of no calls I called them, only to be told that they have no trucks and my goods are at their warehouse. Why couldn't they be upfront with me? The last time I called I was told I should get stuff by the 26th.

This is the worst service I've ever had and if I'd done my homework it could have been avoided.

I would encourage anyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

When I asked about the relevance of asking for my preferred delivery date, to which I replied the 6th, I was told that was the date they would pack my stuff on their truck. Basically she asked me what date she should do her job. Everything was a LIE! I'm livid, because I need my belongings and I can only imagine its condition now.

Awful, Deceitful Company - Stay Far Away!!

I was duped into booking with Alliance Van Lines by their flashy sales pitch that they would be by my side and taking care of me every step of the way with my move. I’m almost 100% certain that I was told there was no middle man with Alliance when I first spoke with an agent about an estimate, which is what reeled me in but was completely false.

They sold my contract to another moving company, Road Runner, who is a nightmare to work with. After having to go back and forth on payment types, the movers showed up on the day of pick up only to tell me that there was no way my items would fit in the square footage they had allotted to me based on my estimate (without even seeing my items!!) and then started their spiel about service fees that I was promised were part of the “white glove” service. Road Runner wanted to charge me another $1000 that I did not have to bring everything that was listed on my itinerary!! I ended up having to leave a lot of my items back in California and I was moving cross-country to Georgia.

It took a full month to receive my items and I am convinced that it is only because I stayed on top of them and constantly pestered them and threatened complaints that I even received my items. When all was said and done, I thought that I had been lucky for having only one item missing from my lot, even though I was charged forA shuttle to get my items to my house (another $300+ hidden fee) because the 18-wheeler could not access my residential address.

Well, it’s been about a month and tonight I discovered that the suitcase I had on the moving truck had been gone through. I found a deck of Star Wars playing cards that I do not own, 4 essential oil bottles that I do not own, and a Chinese hair chopstick that, again, I do not own, in my suitcase. I had personal items in that suitcase and I feel violated.

Alliance Van Lines is a slimy company and they contract out to even slimier movers. If I could give them a zero rating, I would give them a negative five star rating. NEVER AGAIN.
