Great movers!

The crew was organized and neat. Their crew even fixed some pieces of furniture of ours before wrapping it up and loading it out of our apartment. They packed up the kitchen and some random stuff we didn’t have boxes for and had no clue how to pack. Really amazed with the service and would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Simply incredible!

The guys were so professional and nice! I hired Alliance Moving & Storage to deliver a large piece of furniture. They wrapped the furniture properly to prevent any sort of scratch or damage. Their price is reasonable. I would recommend them and will hire them again when I need.

Long-distance move from Portland, ME to Indian Trail, NC

Breach of contract.

Movers were expected to come yesterday 7/30/2020 and they came in at the last minute on the way to airport.

In addition they said that when we wrote a bed it was not understood that this included mattress despite a number of calls and clarifications we had with them.

Their attitude is you have no choice..this is a last minute exploitation and confirma why they did not come on agreed date.

Continued Review/Rebuttal.

Hilarious you guys respond to this review but haven’t called me back in 5 days. There were extra items added and lots taken off the order! I had 100 additional square feet added to 550 so how exactly does that double anything? When I emailed the company and got no response from my salesperson and got Natalie on the phone her reply was “Steve is locked out of the system once the order goes to dispatch” whatever that means. I asked “So he doesn’t forward it to you as head of customer service?” And much like these lame reviews responses they post, she had no good answer. I’m still awaiting boxes of family photos and framed prints that are priceless and irreplaceable. But these thieves told me 5 days ago they would call back to discuss. But haven’t yet! But DID have the time to reply to this online review. Very strange! The subcontractor that showed up to do my move, who was both a sexist pig and a homophobe and completely unprofessional with no mask on during a pandemic, continued to call and text my phone after business was completed. What kind of company lies and tells you “I know this crew, I’m going to get my best crew to New Orleans to move you” and “They are EMPLOYEES of Alliance” when none of that is true? If this is your best crew, you really don’t know what good is. I’ve called back today & spoke to a much friendlier person, named Sierra, and she says she will have Heather Rosen (Natalie’s supervisor) call me. Let’s just say I’m not holding my breath! Side note, the people that delivered my furniture?? He hired one of my neighbors across the street to help him unload his truck. And the other local person he hired to help him unload? When he unloaded and brought 2 chairs to my house & I told him they were mine, his response was “Well Merry Christmas then” and was just going to give me another customers items. I said “No, I wouldn’t want anyone else taking my items, so please take this back to the truck” and for the rest of the day he was visibly annoyed and rude. In my own home this is how these people behaved. And this company is NOT taking responsibility for who they sent to my home? Then WHAT DID I PAY YOU FOR? Please explain that.. still waiting..

This company totally misrepresented.

These are scam artists , the completely misrepresented the moving experience. They said they had employees, in fact they brokered the move. 3 days late, price doubled when they finally got here.

The entire experience was perfect.

We used Alliance Moving & Storage to move from our 4th floor condo to a 1st floor apartment. Lee and his crew were prompt and on time and ready to go. It shows Alliance Moving & Storage’s professionalism when They wrapped all of my furniture with a blanket, and packed other items in boxes carefully. They even used a buffer over the front door frame to prevent any damage IF they made contact; they were so careful it wasn't required. Thank you so much for such a great experience.

Will not go through a broker again.

I did not know that Alliance Moving & Storage was a middleman during the time of booking. They do not make that very obvious on their website. In looking closer at the contract that I signed and in the fine print online, they do specify what they do, but as a first timer moving across country on my own I did not know. I learned my lesson in trying to save a couple bucks and the stress was not worth it.

Their motto is "Moving can be stressful. We can help" but this company was the source of all of my moving stress. When speaking with my moving coordinator Frank Jackson (who never emailed/called me back after getting my money) I told him that I'd like my things picked up Friday, 9/25. He said that Alliance gives a moving window of two days and that typically they arrive on the second day. Great, a window of 9/24 - 9/25 it is. Frank said I would get a call the Monday of that week to confirm which date the movers come. No call, so when reaching out to customer service I'm told they come on Thursday 9/24. Sounds good.

That Tuesday, I do my quality assurance call with Thomas Hoffman. Thomas has been responsive and helpful throughout this ordeal and I have no negative feelings towards him. As it turns out, with some extra boxes and my specialty bed disassembly my quote went from ~$2,800 to ~$3,900. I didn't even blink at the change because this is still a very affordable rate for almost 3,000 miles.

Wednesday morning rolls around and as I am preparing to finish my last 5% of packing (while WFH), the moving company calls saying they're coming today. So much for a 24 hour notice! I asked what he meant since this is a day earlier than the first day of my moving window and that I was not ready. He basically said that I just have to deal with it and pack while the movers start loading the truck. This really screwed my plans because I had intended to bring my cat to a friend's house and also had a therapy appointment on Wednesday which I had to cancel and pay out of pocket for. My cat got to stay in the bathroom for five hours while the guys worked and I lost $100 for a call with my therapist that I could not have. Plus the last-minute hysterics of throwing things into boxes hastily because I did not have time to adequately organize before they showed up. I had not had a panic attack in about a year, but Alliance welcomed that feeling back to me this week.

The worst part is the inconsistencies and miscommunications between broker and vendor. I signed a contract with Alliance saying that wrapping of furniture is free of charge, yet the vendor tried to charge me for that. When I pushed back, he helped me out because I had been nice to them. Alliance also told me I pay half at pick-up, half at delivery. The vendor wanted a 75% payment on pick-up. The vendor also tried to charge me for the elevator service (I'm on the 5th floor so we used the elevator to pack my things) and I just kind of stared at him. What? What I've found is that Alliance makes generalizations about what is included, but the vendor will try to charge you for extra things the day of.

Oh, that's not all! The Alliance booking system somehow became compromised, so not only were viruses sent out to clients via the clickable estimate they sent out, but the vendor did not have my updated inventory list. Customer service is kind but clueless, because when I called to discuss their system being compromised/whether the moving company has my updated inventory list + record of estimate, they said not to worry and that had all been sent to them. This, like many other promises Alliance made, was not accurate.

I work as an Executive Assistant and have to be an organized person. I had spreadsheets, calendar invites, and comprehensive plans for this move. I did everything right, but it still wasn't enough and I have Alliance to thank for that. Save yourself the headache and book through a legit moving company.
