Long-distance move from North Carolina to Indiana

USA Van Lines.

I was making a small move from NC to IN and was quoted after several calls a reasonable price for the move. While loading my stuff my movers who were the only pleasant part of this process as they were efficient and very polite told me about some additional charges that were never discussed with my quote.  After my things were put on the truck, the total bill was 2 1/2 times the quote! The driver said they would deliver my things 4 days later.  I called the day before my scheduled delivery and the dispatch said they had up to 21 days to deliver and that my stuff would be here in 3 more days.  This morning I spoke to the company and they said my furniture would be here before 12 noon it is now 9:00 pm and I have not heard another word from them nor have I been able to speak to anyone. 2 1/2 times the price and 2 times the days on delivery and still no word. .

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Michigan

Terrible-do not use USA Vanlines.

It is now 3 weeks after we were supposed to have our items delivered. First off, our bill was incorrect in their favor when moving my mother's things by up to about 1800.00. I finally redid the math and they agreed that what they were trying to charge me was not on the contract. Then they gave me a routing as well as an account number where I did an online payment, and it turns out that they want you to wire the funds for an additional 25 dollar fee versus an online payment in a matter of a day. Spoke to the bank manager with meetings over 5 times trying to fine the funds. They were finally located and their bank-Bank of America finally found them, but they did not allow a next day delivery without charging us 500 dollars in order to have the funds returned to us. We were out over 12,000 for the funds not including the deposit on a 7000 dollar move. Speaking of fees, the company makes a proft on the charges that they charge by a customer using a visa, mastercard, discover, American Express, etc. by a good 4% for using a visa. The average should be 1.75 percent, so in order to use a visa card there is a charge of almost 400 when it came to our move. They got paid a cashier's check in the end as they were unwilling to allow the funds to clear on their account as they refused an online bill pay even with a confirmation number provided to them by the bank manager. In the mean time, our stuff is still not here. The movers were waiting up the street from our home when we got home from the bank, and as many trucks that we have seen go through our establishment including 2 men and a truck several days ago, their truck was according to the company was unable to make the turn into our driveway, even though the road is wide and there is nothing in the way, they went back and had to get a new truck and they are charging an additional 700 dollars for the move. I am hoping they take a check for additional labor as I do not want to go back to the bank. The customer service is terrible, and they have a fee for everything, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ON THEM TO ANY ONE ON ANY LEVEL!!

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Texas

All US Van Lines FL / Cross Country Movers FL.

"INTERSTATE MOVERS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED AND MONITORED TO STOP THEIR ABUSIVE PRACTICES" Thank you, for signing this petition. http://wh.gov/lV6YH My experience with "Cross Country Movers" and "All US Van Lines" from Hollywood FL was and still is a nightmare. Once they had my things they called (of course) to increase the amount of my Binding Estimate that by definition I was obliged to pay the 100% of it, not a cent more but the company made it clear, "No money, No delivery" Finally when they delivered, 50 days after, the driver asked for $200 because the huge truck couldn't go inside the apartment complex. To make things even worse my 32" HDTV Panasonic was missing and to this day I haven't heard a THING from the claim I submitted. I did my homework, checked dozens of company online, played by their rules and even that is NOT enough for this scammers. They LIE, LIE, LIE once they pick up your things the claws come out. The government has to do something to stop this abuse.

Long-distance move from Ohio to California

Very bad experience.

When I was contacted by Elise at Interstate movers, I specifically asked her if her company outsourced their moving, she assured me that they used their own drivers and trucks. She gave me a binding estimate, which I knew I would have about 10 extra boxes and 1 more piece of furniture than first expected. I sent her a final (and thoroughly measured) list for a final price. She sent a new estimate that was still reasonable. However, the movers arrived at my house in a U-Haul truck, supposedly because they couldn't fit the "actual" van on my street. After going through the house, they told me they could not pick up or move my stuff unless I paid DOUBLE the estimate. They said I had way more cubic feet that what I had measured. So if I wanted to complete the move I had to get more money from the bank, agree to the new costs, and agree to pay double in order to get my stuff off the truck. Since I had already turned off the utilities, I agreed. When my stuff arrived, they had damaged my washer and one of a kind iron coffee table frame. There were several smashed boxes and large boxes, including mirror boxes, that just never came off the truck. The guy who was in charge of unloading my belongings, spent a lot of time telling me how much the "company" made moving people and didn't check off any items from the list, and had me sign off before he would unload the truck. Since the move, I haven't been able to get a return call or email from either USA movers or Interstate movers in order to make a claim or find out where my boxes went. So, instead of a happy move for about $4,000.00, I got a disappointing move for almost double that.

Move.

They were very professional and cordial. Great customer service. I was very nervous and skeptical but extremely satisfied. From the moment I called them there was no delay in coming out to do the estimate and worked with me. I then managed to plan everything and in 5 days everything was done. I had delicate and fragile items that were handled with care. Thank you! I highly recommend them.

Long-distance move from Dothan, AL to Savannah, GA

Nightmare Movers.

If this review saves ONE person from the nightmare we had to deal with then this will be worth it. Called and got a quote for $2800 for a 4BR house. Sounded too good to be true but I was hopeful it was just a good deal. They were to show up on a Saturday morning between 10am and noon. I was supposed to get a call from the driver the day before and I never got a call. When I called the main office at 9am to confirm, the girl told me they were on their way. I got a call after 12pm from the driver to tell me his truck had broken down.. 3.5 hours away! We were moving across another state 5.5 hours away and I was starting a new job that Monday morning, but I calmly said I understood. Things happen, and as long as we could just start early morning on Sunday we should be able to get to our destination and in bed at a decent time right? WRONG! There were only 2 guys sent to move a 2200 sq ft 4 BR home. The driver, who assumed the role of "boss", basically put stickers on stuff, wrote on his clipboard, and played on his phone while the one other guy loaded our entire home into the truck. As someone else pointed out, they told me on the phone I could write a check, so I did not have cash on me. Well guess what, it was Sunday and the banks were closed. What the heck did they expect me to do? I had to have family moneygram the cash to a walmart nearby. They had gotten there at just before 8am, and he said we would be done around 2 or 3 pm. Then it was 6. Then 7. Then 9. We didn't close the doors to the truck until 10pm that Sunday night. I owned the home so I ended up leaving stuff because I couldn't wait any longer. I had a 3 year old I was going to have to drive ALL night long with to make it to work that next morning. I was already pissed, but then the kicker. This guys "boss" called and said they had taken too long and now they had to reroute to another job, 4 hours in the OTHER direction from where we were going. I asked to speak to her and she basically had the attitude of "well we have your stuff now so what are you going to do about it". They had "commitments they had to keep". So you screw me over to make sure you take care of the next guy? And tried to blame it on me having more stuff than I "said I did" when it was their broke down truck and slow as molasses lazy driver that took so long (who repeatedly blamed the delay on the guy busting his tail because he "was new". Here's the next best part. On a quote of $2800 they charged me an extra $1500. And that was after leaving a deep freezer, patio set, and several boxes that were all listed in the quote. Once your stuff is in the truck what can you do about it? They didn't show up at my new home until 4 DAYS LATER. We went 4 days in an empty home without ANYTHING but what we stuffed in our cars, with a small child. I went to my first day on a new job with 1.5 hours of sleep because these guys were milking the clock and took 14 hours to load, and didn't even have the decency to get me my belongings by the next day. They are scammers who will cheat, lie, and steal your money. Stay away from these crooks!

Long-distance move from North Carolina to California

Pleasantly Surprised !!

My Husband and I originally signed with another company and when the movers arrived to pack our things into the crate the size of the crate was grossly underestimated. We immediately cancelled with that mover feeling as though we were being played in order to increase the price. I went on the Internet ASAP and ALL USA Van Liines was the first call that I made and I spoke with Iris who was very helpful and emailed me a form to provide us and estimate ASAP. The estimate seemed fair so we scheduled the pick up from our home in North Carolina to be delivered to our home in California. The moving truck was a few hours late but that was no problem, when they arrived there was a disagreement about the way the Sofa was listed on the proposed items to be picked up. Iris had written a Sofa/Love Seat and I thought nothing of it until the driver said that he would have to charge us more because the contract did not specifically state "Sofa". BUT IT DID!! However, my biggest concern was when the guys did not crate up my 6 foot Heavy Mirror, they just slid it between two mattresses and promised that they would properly crate it at the warehouse before transport. Needless to say I was terrified. I took pictures and noted everything that took place during the packing. After they left I realized that the Inventory list only had One of my room size rugs listed on it so I immediately began calling Customer Service. I never got a return phone call until I researched the company deeper and found the owners phone number, guess what?? He did call me back and I emailed to him the corrected inventory list and our shipment arrived next day and the movers were absolutely proffessional and very thorough. They were very concerned about pleasing us and we tipped them VERY nicely because things turned out much better than we expected!!

Long-distance move from Florida to Arizona

Worst moving experience ever.

When I selected All USA Vanlines to be the moving company for my move from Florida to Arizona, it was based on the conversation I had with the sales representative, Cesar. We discussed the timeline for the move and Cesar assured me that scheduling a July 20th pick-update, that  the items should arrive in Arizona around July 26th or 27th. Based on this information, I proceeded with plans in Avondale, AZ including paying partial rent for July thinking I would move in the last week of July.   Nothing about this move went smoothly. The day of pick up on July 20th, Cesar had said I should have an 8:00am appointment. The call from the driver said 8am-12pm was the window for arrival. The truck did not arrive until 1:40pm. Not only did they arrive outside of the window, they didn’t bother to notify me early that they were “stuck in traffic”.   Once the movers arrived, they refused to take certain items that were listed on the inventory I submitted without boxing them up first. I had intentionally updated the inventory with ample time prior to the move date to prevent this very problem. I learned the day of pick up that items placed in garbage bags and; live plants were not permitted. Additionally, they would not take other small items without re-boxing them. All told, they insisted on packing 3 large wardrobe boxes at a significant cost. When I tried to discuss this, I was told by the driver there was no other option; that it was unlawful for him to take the items without boxing them. This added an unexpected cost to the move. He never gave me the option of not re-packing the items and accepting the responsibility if they arrived damaged.   Additionally, the driver told me I needed to tip the crew that day because it would be a different crew in Arizona. I have never heard of such a practice. I have only tipped a moving crew when they have completed the job at the new location.   When I arrived in Arizona, I called a day or two before the date Cesar and I had discussed, only to find out that my items had not even left Florida yet. This began a series of discussions with the worst customer service representative I have ever encountered named Danielle. I explained to Danielle that the reason I had booked the move with your company was because of the dates he had guaranteed me. Danielle informed me that I should have asked him to put that in writing. Why would it ever be the customer’s responsibility to see to it that a representative of your company is following through on the verbal promises made? Danielle repeatedly talked over me, not bothering to listen to my issues or concerns. She was incredibly rude and claimed I was at fault and that I didn’t follow up to get things in writing from Cesar. I tried to bring to her attention the issue of the additional wardrobe boxes the driver, David, insisted on packing, and she said “did he hold a gun to your head? If not, then you could have refused”.  This is how your customers are being spoken to. After much back and forth and a discussion in which I had to force myself to talk over Danielle, she agreed to check the inventory to see if the items I mentioned were indeed on them and that she would get back to me. Ultimately she took one wardrobe box off the bill.   At the time I made the arrangements with Cesar as well as when the items were picked up, I informed all parties involved that all payments would be made on a credit card. Everyone said that was not a problem, they would pre-authorize this for me. The day before the items were dropped off, I called to make the credit card payment, and was informed once again by Danielle that this was not acceptable and that I didn’t give enough notice. I gave several week notice! Apparently letting everyone know from the start was not ample and she refused to run the credit card. At this point, I would not receive my items if I didn’t come up with the cash; a major inconvenience and again something I had not planned.   On the day of drop off, the truck arrived in a timely manner and they started to unload. I have included a lovely picture of the sweaty driver sitting down on one of my chairs in the driveway. This is incredibly unprofessional! As items started entering the house, I noticed how banged up the boxes were. Then when Rubbermaid tubs came in bashed in and cracked, my concern for my items deepened. Not only were multiple items damaged, items are missing! A coffee table, two flower boxes/pots, and a box are all nowhere to be found.   The movers were ready to go, when I took a quick inventory and realized I was missing several items. When I went to back to the truck, I could see on the truck a coat rack that belonged to me. When I said it was mine, they said, it doesn’t have a number. I said, so check my inventory as I listed it on there. The only inventory they had was of the items that were hand written by David at pick up. When they removed the coat rack from the truck, one of the prongs had been busted. Additionally an end table had been cracked, the handle on a dresser was bent, two floor lamps were bent and the bottoms broken, and a number of items taped up by your company have adhesive that is impossible to remove stuck to them. All of these were items packed by All USA Vanlines. Additionally the front tire was taken off my mountain bike and the front breaks were damaged in the move.   I immediately called Danielle to ask what I should do about the broken and missing items. She said to have the driver, Sammy, make a note on the inventory and sign it. Sammy refused to sign anything to witness the damaged item. He also claimed that he had unloaded every item with a number from the truck and none were missing. This is completely impossible but because the system is so archaic it would require my going through the entire inventory piece by piece to identify where the missing items fell on the list.  Had the driver had my original inventory, it would have been clear the number of tables, flower pots, and boxes and they did not match up with what they took off the truck.   Danielle was, once again incredibly unhelpful and rude in this circumstance as well, telling me she refused to speak with me anymore. I was able to get the claims process and contact info before she hung up on me. I filed the claim and over a month has passed and I have heard nothing nor have my missing items been located. .

Decent job overall.

We used All USA Van Lines to load a container for my upcoming cross-country move. Proper arrangements were made at the very last minute and the moving crew that arrived was extremely careful and flexible, they were thorough in describing the service and other costs. They did the move on a Saturday afternoon at my request because we still had to pack up things. The movers were courteous and professional and the owner called me the next day to check on the service, making sure everything was satisfactory and asking for suggestions on how they can improve. Decent job overall.

These guys are really good, I do not reccommend lightly :-)simply pros.

On a coworkers recommendation, I hired All USA to complete a move this past Friday and I've been raving about them all weekend.Communication was timely, and to the point. I scheduled with Daniel via email. He checked in a few days before to confirm our start, and called 15 minutes before arrival. As requested, a two man team (Jeff and Corey) completed the move- a downtown loft apartment with 6 years worth of stuff, mostly on loft level. They were fast, efficient and careful.. and came with their own supplies (dolly, blankets, shrink-wrap, tape). They even took care to return a handful of change that had dropped from a drawer I should have emptied prior to move day.Price point was standard, and rates straightforward. Attitude was amazing. Both Corey and jeff are incredibly nice, really down to earth guys, while still maintaining an honorable level of professionalism. I was ribbing Jeff a bit as he smiled every time he walked through the door. Do you smile when you carry things?? Because I know that I don't! I highly recommend their services, and will book them again for my next move. Thanks guys! You made it remarkably easy :-)    .
