Big Boy Moving and Storage

Moving is never easy and tends to become a stressful task. My first mistake was to go on line on . On a website stating moving quotes.
I submitted the requested information on this website. This lead to so many calls to my cell I actually considered CHANGING MY CELL PHONE Number!
I finally spoke to the only estimator that treaded me like a human being and wasn't trying to sell or push something on me.
Liz over at BIG BOY Moving and Storage. She explained to me the value differences between brokers and carriers which was all very intriguing considering all the other quotes I recieved and the range of price difference ! Big Boy Moving relieved that
Moving stress and I got excited about my new place and moving again. I gave them four out of five stars . Because I know I had a 48 hour window for pick up and I really preferred Tuesday instead of Wednesday and they came on Wednesday. Other than that Mike and Steve did a fantastic Job packing and loading all of my household items and using extreme care with my boxes. So overall yes I would recommend big boy moving in storage.

I would never use Big Boy Moving and Storage again.  My son moved from a 1 bedroom apt. in VA to NJ and the sales rep Liz quoted 395 cf. for the inventory I gave her.  The inventory DID NOT change, when the movers arrived they said it was closer to 600 cf.  This was an increase of $658.  You have the right to cancel at that point, but the contract states that you would lose your deposit, which was $629.  When you have to vacate an apt. in 3 days, you have no choice but to let them move the items.  They also brought a 75 ft. semi which added another $224 for a long carry.  An additional $75 was charged for using the elevator.  The mover took off 50 cf., and when I called Customer Service to complain about the increase, they try & make you feel like they did you a favor by taking off 50 cf.  We boxed up the TV ourselves which saved them time.  Customer Service is claiming they packed items for free, the only thing they did was take out the small glass top from the coffee table & wrapped it in a dirty blanket.  Customer Service is very rude, they took off $100 and told me to have a nice day.  Both reps I spoke with kept telling me I was being disrespectful to them & they ended our conversation.  The blankets used to wrap the furniture were dirty.  In the future, I will use a professional, big name moving company.  If you use Big Boy Moving and Storage, expect to pay MUCH more than the estimate you are given.

Not only did 1/2 my boxes come kicked in n ripped open n w a lot broken including a antique hope chest that was my moms as a kid it had 2 legs broke but one was attached haphazardly to the wrong side ! Now I'm done empting all n there is a box of collectibles missing. I was spoken to meanly by ur workers rushed on all boxes coming off the truck, harassed by driver to tip both on pickup n delivery n he wanted to leave the garbage on my lawn. When packing the truck tossed my flat screen up to its spot on the truck. Over charged me on the shipping after I had signed a contract for a specific amount,,were over an hour showing up past the 2 hours given n after calling an saying be there in 5 min. Same on delivery..Would not wait for me to try n count n or look into any of the ripped kicked in boxes of which there was many..I want the missing box shipped by mail to me..N I want tracking n insurance..I have a family member who is a criminal lawyer and is ready n willing to go to bat 4 me..It will cost me nothing to sue you n win I was bullied n lied to. I spoke to big boys n they r the ones getting crap because of u all not the other way around n want to join in on the fact that I have a top shark lawyer all to willing to go to the mat for me n them against you. I will be your worst nightmare ever already posting on any site I can how horrible u r n will do so 4 as long as I can.

The Moving company being reviewed here is entitled “Big Boy Moving & Storage”, locate at 600 NE 185th Street Miami, FL 33179. This is simply the WORST service company you can ever deal with. Granted that sometimes, emergencies and unplanned events happened but that was not the case with me. And even then, there are ways of relating to the customer so that it is not what you say but how you say it.

When I was looking to move from New York to California, I searched and contacted moving companies via Internet. I then called some and finally settled with one entitled Eco Van Lines. As it turned out, this was just an agent like a broker who turned me over to another one.

This company is an absolute nightmare. Do not hire them. I dealt with a salesman named Mario on the phone who quoted me $3200 for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom move from Michigan to California. He told me to put 30% down, 30% at the time of the move, and the rest at delivery. Wrong! The movers arrived at 8:30 p.m. (5 hours late), jacked up my price to $4800, and told me that I was supposed to pay half at the time of pick-up. I had to move for work and Mario told me that the average delivery for that distance is 7-10 days. It's been 2 weeks and i'm still sleeping on the floor. I contacted a customer service rep today who said that she has no estimated time of arrival and that they would call me when in route. Where are they now? Do not hire this company!

If I could give 0 stars I would. WORST COMPANY EVER. Do not book this company, they are cheats.  I received a quote and signed a contract for a price regarding my move.  After the contract had been signed and deposit made, Big Boy contacted me and said "sorry, that price wasn't correct, you need to pay $800 more for the service".  They get you to sign an agreement, then jack up your price. They have terrible customer service and after I asked to speak with another rep regarding the increase, they haven't gotten back to me. They lie to get you to sign with them then won't stand by their own contract! Horrible.

I don't know how I missed these review sites but wish I had seen them. I have never worked with a company that cares less for their customers. This company has been nothing but false promises, extra fees and HORRIBLE customer service. They under estimated my load significantly, did not inform me that cash/check was needed AT pick up, straight lied to me about charges for my mirror and glass table and can take up to 21 days from your requested date of delivery to drop off your goods. Everything revolves around moving a full truck and their timeline. Zero care for customer receiving goods. Even with all of these mishaps what frustrated me the most was their blatant disregard to respond to email an voicemail. I asked for delivery and didn't hear anything so I called 4 days out and left messages and email. Then again two days out. Then called the day before on a different number and reached someone who hung up on me before I could reschedule the date of delivery! I feel completely scammed as though they said anything they could, to get my business. I warn anyone from believing what they say or dealing with their rude customer service. This company should not be allowed to operate. I feel for anyone who has to go through what I have gone through, and I still have not even received my goods. I pray things are not broken like many of the other reviews.

This company is unprofessional. The movers were not movers; they were friends of the owner. The movers were constantly on their cell phones and taking very long breaks. They were rude and yelled at my mother. They threatened to take her stuff if she did not pay for an extra hour, when it should have been done in less time. Worst of all, they broke a custom cut glass tabletop worth $450 and refused to take responsibility. The owner sided with his movers and said he would not replace the glass. I opened a complaint with the local Broward County Better Business Bureau and still the owner refused to take responsibility. They do not care about customer satisfaction. My advice, do not use these movers. Do you research and find someone reputable and professional. So the move cost an extra $450 which is what we have to pay to replace the broken glass.   .
