Terrible Service / Don’t cover their damages

They were booked for 8am but didn’t arrive until 8:40am. No apology for the delay.

I had dismantled most of the stuff to try to keep my costs down and make the job quicker but this didn’t make any difference. They dragged their feet to make the most out of me that they could.

They left so much at my old property that I had to make multiple trips back to collect my belongings.

They spent most of their time on their mobile phones talking to family or friends. This slowed them down further.

They didn’t “mantle” my washing machine which they just dumped in the laundry room not even putting it in place or my sons bed which they left completely unassembled.

They only allowed 24 hours for me to check for damages to make a claim on their insurance which I was unable to do as I had to vacate fully the other property still and assemble my washing machine myself to use it before discovering that my dryer was damaged from the move.

They held my fridge / freezer ransom until I paid them $1435 based on $150 plus GST for 9 hours even though the quote verbally and in text was for $150. Who quotes without GST in this day and age. Misleading. They did mention GST but that seems to refer to the service fee of credit cards NOT the overall cost. I mentioned this in an email to them but they never replied. Big surprise!

They promised I would receive my invoice after I paid but I had to chase them up.

They damaged a cabinet I had and refused to fix it. Saying it was loose before the move yet if that was the case they never brought that to my attention.

All in all I had to make 8 extra trips myself due to the amount of items they left behind. They didn’t offer to return to collect the rest even at further expense to me.

The fact that they gave so little time to check for damages to make a claim and wouldn’t cover the damages they caused that I did tell them about on the day means that I would never recommend them for moving anything.

I was paying a mid range price for professionalism and insurance coverage but I got neither. Quite frankly I feel I could have gone with a cheaper mob and had better service.

Service by Sorab& Prabh

Sorab & Prabh came with a 5-ton truck. They were very professional and helped us to move from a 5-floor apartment to a 20-floor apartment. They were careful with our stuff like TV, refrigerator, washing machine and dryer. Highly recommended and in future would gladly hire them.

Stay away big liars

I had a terrible experience with this company. They sent inexperienced staff who needed constant direction on how to move my belongings, making the entire process stressful and time-consuming, they quoted me for a smaller truck, which ended up being too small for all my items. And they forced me to pay twice for the delivery, which felt like a deliberate tactic to overcharge.

Secondly, they refused to take my coffee table, claiming it had a glass top and there was no room in the truck. This was a blatant lie, as there was clearly enough space. Their excuse was that the coffee table could damage their truck, which was ridiculous and unfounded.

To top it off, their customer service was incredibly rude and dismissive when I called to address these issues and said it was after 24 hours which is not in the terms and conditions but i already addressed over the phone I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable and professional moving service.

Furniture Removal

I am so sad to have to write this review but after months of trying to resolve this issue I have no choice.

This company delivered a sideboard to our home and dropped it on the floor ,badly scratching the parquetry floor.

One of the guys was not even wearing safety shoes .

They complained about how heavy the item was, even though I had given exact details of the specifications .

When we complained on the spot they refused to leave without being paid.

Just today after at least 16 calls to the office asking for a dignified response I received an email saying that because my complaint was not received within 24 hours they have no obligation to help me.

Please think carefully before using these people. They say they are stress free… they are not!

They have caused us so much anguish and we now have been left with a ruined floor and not one offer to help, even though they advertise they are fully insured!

Very very poor customer service.

BEWARE people!

Liars and rubbish movers!

TLDR: 2.5 hours late, damaged items, screamed at me, lied regarding breaking an item, all our furniture left on the street (not in the truck) with no one watching it, assume they will take the maximum time quoted.

I have immigrated 3 times in my life and moved at least 20+ times (army brat) and I have never experienced such a horribly unprofessional and rude team. After breaking a $200 cat tower, trying to gaslight my husband by saying it's not broken (despite one of the towers clearly being snapped), taping it together and balancing it to claim they've fixed it, leaving our stuff on the road (not in the van) without anyone keeping an eye on it (we have no clue yet if anything has been stolen, but I'd be surprised if nothing was stolen as it was there for hours), starting 2 hours late and not even being prepared enough to bring a drink bottle - i called the office to see if they had some men who could come and help so we could finish before midnight (I had been told the two men started at 5am with no breaks, which is illegal and so dangerous considering they are driving a massive truck) as they were moving so slowly and triple handling everything - i am not blaming the movers themselves, the management is to blame for these poor men being exhausted! My husband even helped them pack up as they were just moving so slow due to exhaustion. The man in the office ended up screaming at me until I burst into tears and apologized.

I have never wanted people out of my house more! We helped them unpack, and even though the unpack was mainly straight into the garage with drive-up access, it still took hours longer than it should have. I am now down 1.2k, exhausted, still moving items myself and will be for the next week to make up for their incompetence. This isn't even covering the damages done, which they refuse to cover as they claim they "fixed it" (put tape on it).

Due to prior interactions with this company, and being legitimately afraid of the management in the office, i will not be making any attempts to contact them again for a resolution.

Please avoid this company if you value your time, possessions, or yourself!

Absolute Nightmare!!!!

Do not use this company!!!!

This is what I would describe as a Fred in a shed company. The two ‘workers’ (loosely used) were EXTREMELY slow, rude and generally clueless!!!

I had packed up and sorted the majority of the items that required moving so the loading should have taken an hour / hour and half maximum but here we were 3hrs later!!

Every time I looked there they were, talking, on the phone, or generally standing around.

Once the van was eventually loaded they then found the van was broken and they couldn’t drive off. They needed to get a new van, unload and reload again. These things happen but they wanted me to pay the hourly rate for the time it would take for this change of vans to be completed. Obviously I refused!!!!

On arrival to the destination they were just as rude towards the people receiving the items.

Work shy, unprofessional, unable to communicate efficiently. Zero stars

Shocking - broke things, denied liability, demanded payment before job

They broke our lamps and denied liability. They arrived late, worked slow. When it came to drop off the demanded payment before unloading the truck or else they would take our stuff. When it came to discuss the broken lamps ($1500 each) they denied and said it was like that. I had photos prior but they refused. Honestly go anywhere else. Rude staff, intimidating. When I range the manager and complained (also refused to pay until unloaded) he unleashed a torrent of vile abuse calling me homosexual slanders, c*#%, f^## and so on. He was crazy. Appalling Company

Slow workers. Refusing to take items up stairs. Wanting me to provide a waiver on carrying items once site. Refused to complete the job until I paid in full. Damaged my expensive lamp. Once I paid they refused to do the next part of the job because they wasted the vast majority watching YouTube on their phones rather than assisting.

Would rather do it myself

I am a very reasonable person. Using Ace Movers has been the worst experience i have ever had in dealing with a company. Avoid at all costs.

The movers were inexperienced.

They demanded payment half way through the move (basically holding our stuff in the truck at ransom) saying they weren’t leaving until we paid.

They damaged our washing machine.

They left a huge pile of our belongings at our rental. When i followed this up with the manager via phone and email (asking for 1.5 hours reimbursement) I was yelled at, abused and threatened. We were never provided with a receipt, and I’m convinced this was because we were overcharged (when bullied into paying on the spot).

I would have preferred to have done all the heavy lifting myself than to have dealt with this scam of a business.

Warning do not use Ace Removals

Unprofessional, unorganised, arrived on site with without the correct equipment-

Trolley blankets etc, lazy work ethic looking at their phone regularly and when I complain to their boss he was incredibly rude, arrogant and basically told me if you don’t want them cancel the job.

Terrible attitude when they know you need to be out of the property on the day - almost like holding you to ransom.

Finally the staff need a lesson in personal hygiene and the use of deodorant.

There are more professional removalist out there.

Do not use ACE as they are NOT ACE and incredibly expensive.

My worst move ever! Think twice before using this company.

I have done several moves (1+) but this one was the worst of the worst - a true nightmare!

I provided ACE MOVERS with a full list of packed items to be moved prior and requested a quote. The original quote estimate with a 12 ton truck and two persons provided by ACE MOVERS was 6-9 hours for a max cost of ~ $1500. The move took a total of 20 hours to get the job done (13 hours with 2 men and 7 hours with 4 men, two men were sent at 10pm to finish the job on the day which the former 2 were tasked to do in a max of 9 hours) at a cost of $4732 (more than 3 times the original cost, and 4 times the original time, quoted)!

What went wrong?

1. The 4 men, though young, were totally exhausted working 20 + hours and hence totally inefficient in their work. They left at 5 am to go on their next job at 6am having spent 20+ hours on my job and having previously finished their job with another customer at 11pm the previous day (with the other two at 9pm same day)! How can men, even young, operate without sleep and food?

2. Whether consciously or unconsciously, the men applied the standard delaying tactics to increase chargeable hours - 1+ hours to get from loading to unloading destination (not more than 15 min apart), and coming up with blatant excuses - cannot get a park, got lost in the journey, blocked driveway, slow lifts, proper truck stacking... etc.

End result - frustrated customer conned into an estimate which turned out to be more expensive, and took 4+ times longer, than other fixed professional quotes. Plus a neighbourhood which were woken up in the middle of the night complaining about how such a move was allowed in such hours! One small positive - no missing items or significant breakages (hence the 1 star). Zero value for money (0 stars). Never again!

Shocking removalist

I had a shit experience with the guys from Ace. Turned up an hour late. Both Indian gentleman stunk bad of BO. Spoke constantly in their native tongue and made sexually explicit jokes towards me.

Knew exactly what they were moving and showed up with a truck far too small. Kept telling me to “come and look” and they were doing their best to save me time and money.

Broke 2 of 4 legs of my TV unit and chipped a door. That had to go to the bin.

Damaged two large expensive framed pictures. Have been quoted almost $1,000 to repair.

Ruined the bottom of my buffet, cannot be fixed.

Damaged my son’s queen bed, that cannot be fixed so that frame went to the bin as well.

Damaged a tall boy - to the bin.

Took out drawers in my upholstered bed and never put them back in, got grease marks on each of the drawers that I can’t get out.

I was left going back and forth (same suburb) for hours afterwards and left so run down because of it. I’ve gotten so sick I’ve been in bed.

Didn’t bother to go back to Nick after reading these comments. Only booked with them as my GF used them and highly recommend them.

Last kicker… the main guy asked to borrow my phone for a few minutes to use maps as his phone died… turns out he left himself a 5 star review!!

Shitheads!!

ACE Movers Review

I hired Ace Movers for what should have been a simple move - 1.5 km, just 11 pieces of furniture. I chose them based on their high star rating, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t match the reviews at all.

One of our items - a fridge - ended up with a visible 6cm scratch. A part of our bed frame also went missing. And a large dresser was left behind entirely, with the movers telling us it was “too heavy” unless we paid extra to bring back more staff. No practical solution was offered while they were on-site. Later, I was able to move the same dresser myself with one other person - by simply removing the drawers. That alone speaks volumes about their willingness to help. So much for the professionalism.

We reported the issues shortly after unpacking, as it’s only during reassembly that you can spot missing parts or damage. Ace Movers refused to take responsibility, citing a 24-hour reporting window buried in their terms. From what I’ve since learned, that kind of policy may actually be an unfair contract term under Australian Consumer Law (Section 23).

They also failed to provide the service with due care and skill (Section 60). The movers were slow and disengaged, which felt like a tactic to stretch the job out for additional charges - not a team focused on delivering a smooth or professional service.

After multiple emails and legal references, they first offered $50. Eventually, they increased it to $100 - but only processed the refund after we followed up again a week later. Their final response was literally:

“Please find the receipt attached.”

No apology. No explanation. Just that. That message sums up the entire tone of our experience - dismissive and transactional.

TL;DR – Timeline of the $100 Refund:

- Move: 1.5 km, 11 furniture items

- Fridge scratched (6cm), bed part missing

- Dresser left behind; movers said it was “too heavy”

- I later moved it with one other person—no issue

- Reported damage after unpacking → refused due to 24-hour policy

- Offered $50 → pushed to $100

- Refund paid only after we followed up again

- Final message: “Please find the receipt attached.”

I hired this company based on the star rating alone. I regret not reading the detailed reviews first. My advice: dig deeper before trusting the numbers. Our experience was far from 5-star service.

Working damaged my property and refuse to take any responsibility

They broke my blue water hose at the back of my fridge plumber assessed and confirmed this(all proof shown to them) I needed to purchase a new part (invoice provided) they refused to take any responsibility. The workers didn’t even connect the fridge back up as they knew it was broken but have stated they didn’t connect the fridge back up as there wasn’t a water outlet (there is proof shown) and never said anything to me on the day.

They are just wiping their hands of this.

Disgusting customer service and extremely disappointing effort to help me fix a problem they cause due to being rough and not knowing what they are doing.

Terrible unprofessional ‘service’

Summary: terribly unprofessional, intentionally slow, no communication, no skill in safely moving belongings. I am left $500 out of pocket having unloaded most items myself and with many awkwardly shaped and sized items left in pickup location still needing to be moved myself as was truck packed inefficiently by the team.

I had a very disappointing experience with ace movers after selecting them due to positive reviews despite not being the cheapest quote I received.

I accommodated them changing the time the day prior to the move.

I move often with my job and this experience is was exceptionally poor.

The removalists who arrived were unprofessional, on telephone calls via headphones for most of the move. They took little care with my belongings and this resulted in damage to boxes marked fragile and sentimental handmade furniture.

They did not make appropriate use of space in the five tonne truck they recommended for my one bedroom house and announced simply that the truck was full and I would have to move the rest of my belongings myself (despite me having sold most bulky furniture prior to moving I.e no couch, tv unit or wardrobes). There was no attempt to disassemble any items. There was no communication prior about the possibility/concern of running out of space nor a question of which items to prioritise. I am certain if packed correctly and professionally everything would have fit within the truck.

It is impossible to give these men the benefit of the doubt that they were not intentionally and deliberately slow to exploit my time for their profit. I have never seen behaviour like this from professional movers before. My personal belongings were moved from room to room within the pickup location and at drop off I could personally offload a full moving trolley of belongings from the truck and then transfer and unpack it into the storage unit in the same time the two removalists took to offload only two boxes from the truck together onto a single trolley.

Finally the removalist was absolutely unprofessional and acted in an unnecessarily intimidating and unreasonable manner in demanding immediate(!) payment to bank details in a wAttsapp message on his phone screen whilst I was alone in the isolated corridor outside of my unit in the middle of unpacking a trolley. He would not accept that I finish unpacking the items on the trolley first and retrieve the cash payment from my car afterward. This was not approached in a professional way in good faith and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable. There is no reason why this couldn’t have been asked politely and professionally in line with their service agreement of payment at 75% offloading in the public loading dock once I had completed unloading that single trolley of belongings.

Overall I am $500 out of pocket, spent most of the morning moving my own belongings and still have to organise the removal of the remaining items left behind at my pick up location.

Moved 1/3 of house in 7 hours

I am extremely disappointed in the value of the service I received. I was charged 7h for moving two truckloads less than one kilometre. I had stated that I had to move a 4bedroom house at time of booking so why they came with such a small truck is beyond me. I moved more than your men did in my van.

I moved all the boxes myself. The move was not finished in a day despite me doing the majority of the work. I had to return the next day to complete the move on my own. All up these guys moved approximately 1/3 of my house.

Then there is the fact that they did not give me a complete run down of costs following my booking meaning the moving team left in the uncomfortable position of having to reveal a number of hidden costs. I tried to resolve the concern with manager, Nick and we was rude and abusive so here’s his 1-star review hoping others don’t fall into the same trap.

ACE MOVERS ARE TERRIBLE - DO NOT HIRE THEM!

Charming when they quote you, rude once you hire them. The worst removalists, ever. Difficult to deal with. Constantly on their mobile phones when they should be working. They ask you to take items in your car so they have to. They drag their feet to extend your hire costs and work slower when you help. Unethical, unresponsive

I used Ace Movers last Friday and they put a hole in the wall right near the front door of the rental I was vacating. The removalists didn't mention it me, but of course I noticed it straight away. In front of my parents who were helping me move, they told me it was a common occurrence and they'd fix it up. One of the removalists then used his mobile phone to take a picture of the damage. In hindsight it should have already been a red flag that this photo hadn't been taken before I pointed out the very obvious damage to them. Maybe they didn't notice, but I've always noticed if I've put a hole in the wall, haven't you? "Don't worry" one of them said, someone from Ace Movers would get in touch "within a business day or so"...

Monday came and passed so I followed up on Tuesday morning with a phone call only to be told the guys there that day hadn't mentioned anything to them, and it was "unusual of me" not to have contacted them within 24-48 hours. Unbelievable! I was told they'd need to talk to the guys and would get back to me. I let them know my tenancy was ending and I needed it fixed, but the next day I still hadn't heard back from anyone at Ace Movers.

I followed up with another phone call on Wednesday and was told those removalists had a day off and hadn't been spoken to. This started a week ago now, still nobody has gotten back in touch with me at all. My rental tenancy has now ended and the bond owed to me will be deducted for the damage. I am extremely disappointed with Ace Movers and would never use them again.

The quote they provide you with is also sans GST and this will be added at payment time.

Do yourself a big favour and give someone else your business, this company is not responsible if something goes wrong and they've left me well out of pocket through no fault of my own. Ace Movers are seriously lacking ethics and accountability. Very disappointed.

BEWARE - SHONKY REMOVALISTS!

I placed an ad on Hi-Pages requiring removalists. THEY contacted ME to gain some business and assured me they were the best in town as I required them for 2 seperate jobs. Pft! They were anything but. The first job I booked and paid a deposit for they didnt even arrive at the scheduled time and date; they didn't arrive at all! Moving can be stressful at the best of times and now this! I had to organise another removalist at short notice. But to give the benefit of the doubt I retained their services for 2 weeks later. This time they arrived with the wrong size truck. They said the larger truck had "broken down" but at no time was I notified of this. They used this same excuse for the first job. Instead they arrived in what appeared to be the size of a food delivery truck, not fit for purpose. The removalists did not understand what I was saying and spoke in a foreign tongue most of the time. I even had to supply disassembly tools as all they had was a $10 tool set you would find in The Reject Shop. I felt obliged to assist with the removal as they were dragging their heels just to get a longer hourly rate out of me. I was quoted $500 - $600 for the job. It ended up being $900. They did not use the blankets they had on board to protect the furniture. They gouged one of the leather couches and ruined a brand new $4500 fridge as they did not cover it and tried squeezing it through a doorway narrower than the fridge itself. At no stage did they scout the premises for a more appropriate entry point (which there were plenty of). I had to supervise them the entire time as they were complete novices and were extremely careless with all the furniture. Before they would unload the last lot of furniture they demanded final payment. And dealing with the manager "Mitch" was a nightmare. At first he starts off nice and the moment you voice a legitimate concern he becomes instantly defensive, irate and verbally abusive then hangs up on you. He initially asked for photographic evidence, which I provided. He then tried to tell me that the damage to the fridge and couch was already there and that his guys wouldn't have done that, but then he said "you put them under so much pressure and that's why they damaged the fridge". Doesn't make sense! After a while, he (Mitch) no longer took my calls. He called me a f***ing d***head and told me to f*** off and then hung up never to answer any of my calls ever again. This business needs to be deregistered and investigated by the Ombudsman or WorkSafe Victoria.

Very disappointing experience moving

This was a very very disappointing experience that is unfortunately still continuing. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. The two gentlemen had no experience in moving - to make a long story short, they had great difficulty disassembling and assembling the 2 beds (standard beds from ikea), the beds had to be reassembled after they left, they broke a mirror, they lost bolts and nuts from the sectional sofa so it is not properly assembled, and worst of all, my 70 inch tv arrived with the screen cracked (it had obviously been hit in transit) and only lines on the screen (totally not working). When I called 3 minutes after I had paid (they took 11 hours to move a 2 bed unit) and the movers left, to inform them, there was no response. I sent an urgent email, no response. Called from another phone, the staff person answered and was very abrupt (unlike at first) and said to handle it on Monday (the move was on Friday). No one got back to me on Monday, sent an e-mail again, on Tuesday, sent another email, still no response. Zero customer service, even though the quote clearly stated they had goods insurance. The utter arrogance and carelessness astounds me - I would have been willing to work with them if they had been in the least courteous. If I could give them zero stars on the review, I would..

Terrible movers

They quoted me 4 hours and $450 for my move of a 1 bedroom + storage unit. + $130 each extra hour. The truck was unmarked and the movers were new and inexperienced. They took 12 hours to move me (3 blocks) and held me to ransom as they wouldnt unpack the 1st load until i paid over $1000.Then did the same with the next load. They dropped the 1st box they picked up, marked fragile. They kept asking if they were finished. Yet they hadnt emptied my apartment. They told me they were finished so i went to lock up and there was still things there. Asked me for water, not sure what they expected as all my glasses were packed up. Kept asking me to help them move my boxes. At the other end, they put my mattress on the other side of the room and packed boxes in front of it, told me i should put my couch together myself even though they took it apart. Not sure where they thought i was going to sleep at 9pm. AND 1 of the movers asked me many times if i lived alone / was alone. VERY CREEPY. Dont subject yourself to these movers. Very unprofessional and they just send random guys with no experience.

MELBOURNE’S WORST REMOVALISTS

If I could leave 0 star I would. Never have I been more anxious, stressed and upset whilst moving house from hiring these so called ‘removalists’.

Where do I start? I was verbally abused, sworn at and screamed at by their manager Sam. Because THEIR removalists put our 10k mattress on the back of their dirty truck when we had clearly instructed them to put the mattress in the protector bag which was sitting on top of the mattress when they moved it!! They then lied and claimed we never asked them to do this. Absolute liars and cheats!

I cannot believe the degree of unprofessionalism, and genuine lack of care that this company has. Do not hire them.

The fact that their company slogan is “stress free moving” is an absolute laugh. Oh and they charged us $690 in total. Our mattress is now covered in stains and dirt. 10k down the drain.

DO NOT HIRE.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $690
