Long-distance move from Miami, FL to Chattanooga, TN

It was a disaster.

No even one star!, This was the worst experience in my life. This company is not the cheaper one!! . Please read carefully: Alicia from sales team did a very good job, she got me as a customer, then the first crew arrived pretty sharp the day we agreed, they looked very professional, they treat every object as they were the owner, at least in from of me, I can´t say what happened in the truck cus I wasn´t there. Well they took my stuff to an storage for two weeks and then they sent them to me to my new home. A1A surprised me, thanks to Stephany, she is great, they sent all my stuff when I need it, but what was wrong with this company?, a lot of thing arrived broken or damaged, they were treat in a very bad way, every box I opened looks like Godzilla stepped on it. My TV was protected, covered with a lot of cushions and in a box that I bought at home depot as Alicia recommend me to do, no matter what I did the TV arrived broken with a big big crash in the screen, a big big hit in the screen, I´m still paying the TV!! and I can not use it because the crew was so rude with it. Well a that moment I was saying "well it is only the TV", but when we started unpacking we discovered a lot of boxes with the FRAGILE text outside.. everything was broken inside these boxes, 10 cups, 15 glasses, 10 wine glasses, even one of my king bed leg was broken. What kind of people contract A1A?? I called Stephany and she said I have to write a claim to the insurance company, but I know how it works, nobody will take responsibility. it would be beautiful to me to write a new review about the solution presented by A1A. My name is Mario Davila, my phone is (305)778-0990. I want my TV back, I want all my stuff back.

-------
One year later, they sent me a letter with a $25 payment for the damage.
------

Stay away of this company.

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to Windermere, FL

Terrible service. A nightmare.

I would like to enforce the extreme disappointment and stress caused by the services (barely) received by this company.

Not only I was deceived as far as quoting , for it was very much unprofessionally done , inaccurate and miscalculated from the beginning , but I also have never in my life dealt with a company with such POOR customer service.
Nobody in the company answers the phone.
My shipment was transferred to a bother truck without any type of communication with me. Not ONE notification.
I was expecting my belongings to be in Windermere by the first weekend of August as planned ! And because of that I had purchased flights to family members to help me with organizing . Well that was not done , and if I haven’t called / emailed / txt A1A Moving and storage SEVERAL times , I would probably not have been informed of the delay at all.
At a few moments I was afraid my belongings were stolen , so bad the communication was. And when I would get to speak with anyone , I was given an attitude as if I didn’t have the right to know the status of my shipment.

When after long two weeks of extreme stress and aggravation , leaving several voicemails / emails and txt messages (mostly unanswered) my shipment got to my residence , the driver had only one other company employee and two random locals , to help unload and assemble my furniture. They simply dumped all of my boxes in my garage , carelessly , unprofessionalism at its finest. Assembling only furniture from the master bedroom and dinning room , damaging pieces of those . And refusing to assemble the other two bedrooms , yet leaving damaged pieces.

I had to ask kindly for one of them to help me , a woman , to bring other heavy boxes in the garage from the driveway.

After a couple of days of moving the boxes inside myself (again a woman) and unpacking , I attempted to start putting furniture from the guest room together , only to realize that there was boxes missing , with the sides (bases) of the bunk bed , preventing me from assembling it.

This whole experience was a complete nightmare. Causing me frustration , stress , sleepless nights and , I still don’t have all of my belongings.
Once I contacted the company several times in different days last week , I was given the run around . And once I stopped contacting them , although I have requested answers by last Friday , I have never heard from them again.

My family arrives from Brazil on August 26th and I have not yet finished my home organizing BECAUSE of A1A Moving and Storage’s poor service.

The A1A Movers was a very professional team. Everything was done as promised. I received move in and move out services as well as storage service. The quote was very good and cheap. Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Portland, OR

Misrepresentation, Scamming, & Avoidance.

My move with A1A Movers LLC has been nothing but headache. In speaking initially with Ron D., a salesman from the CA branch, I was told that my move would be 1 price for my studio apt ( estimated 300 cu.ft),which included: moving, truck, fuel, long walk, shuttle, and elevator fees. My thorough accounting of furniture was also reviewed in person by another company, estimating the same allotted space, so I was confident that this quote would be upheld. Supposedly, there even was one of A1A's trucks already making a trip in the direction of my move that promised delivery on 2/12 (with a 2/9 pick up).

However, when the movers came and carried out my belongings to the truck, Gal, the head mover, told me he 'eyed it' and that I would be way over my allotted space. All without attempting to load in my furniture to see how much space was actually needed and without taking legitimate measurements to support this new price. He 'eyed' that my furniture would need 530 cubic feet for my move - note: there were no appliances or couch in this move. This added an additional $1,000 to my move. He ignored my dispute of the 'needed' cubic feet and told. me that I needed to pay this new amount, else they wouldn't take my furniture. Due to needing to embark for my new home the next morning and that my move day was on a Sunday, I would not have been able to find movers on such short notice that would also be able to hit my delivery date. He continued to say that he would go with me to the bank to get the cash that was needed.

Through this whole ordeal, I felt like I was being extorted and blackmailed. All the while, I tried without success to get in touch with Ron, my Salesman, to see if he might be able to help sort through the discrepency in estimate vs 'eyed' space. When the movers left, I called A1A Movers Customer Service to contest the blatant scam that just occurred. I was told that my case would be reviewed and someone would be in touch. That was Sunday, 2/9.

To make matters worse through my own calling to confirm delivery and follow up on my claim on 2/10, I learned that the truck I was promised would be taking my furniture was a no-show and the promised delivery date of 2/12 would not be met. They did not have answers for when my furniture would be delivered.

By this point, all faith that I had in A1A Movers was gone. I would call to speak. with someone, but it would be rare that I was able to speak to anyone. When I would catch them, they would tell me they would look into it and give me a call, but never did. I would leave voice messages that were never returned.

Realizing that A1A Movers was bidding their time so my move would happen without them resolving my issues, I wanted to be prepared for when I might be able to catch someone on the phone (a Customer Service Rep or Supervisor Frankie). So I researched each piece of furniture and box dimensions online to calculate the actual cubic space of my move. From the dimensions I found online, I was estimating 250 cubic feet. Not the 530 cubic feet the movers picking up my furniture provided.

After 5 days (2/14), I finally was given a call back by Frankie. We discussed my findings. I asked him to prove how the movers' estimate was accurate and even shared my calculations for each piece of the move with him to review. In closing the call, I asked that he/ A1A Movers make it right by amending the amount due - considering my move 'paid in full,' as I had paid the quoted amount for my 300 cubic feet of furniture (and then some).

Later that day (2 days after the promised delivery date), my furniture was delivered by sub-contractors. Not the A1A team that I was promised. Unfortunately, in order to get my furniture, I was forced to pay the full amount based on the 530 cubic feet.

Today is 2/19. I have attempted calling customer service reps, Frankie, and Ron to try get an update on the review/ what is being done, but none of my calls are answered, nor returned. I will continue to try and get a hold of them and would appreciate someone from the company contacting me to get this resolved amicably.

For you, future mover, the key take aways are that A1A Movers will misrepresent their capabilities & what their quotes entail, scam & extort you - preying on your need to have furniture moved, and then avoid your calls and ignore your messages so they never have to speak to you again.

If you want a stress free move where you're not getting scammed out of your money - do not even consider A1A Movers.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Miami, FL

The Worst Movers Ever!

WARNING: ** A1A Movers **

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. Help spread the word so others don't get conned too.

They doubled the price on me once they had all of my belongings on a truck and THREATENED to leave with my things in the street if I didn't pay the increased amount on the spot. They delivered my things 25 DAYS later than they promised and RUINED my couch, my bed, dresser, multiple art pieces, decor pieces, chairs, my dining table, and my clothes are all wet as if they left my things out in the rain. The sales rep didn't answer my calls since she passed me off to her amateur colleagues after I signed the initial contract. I now see from other reviews that this is the norm for the company. DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY PAID PEOPLE TO POST. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST AND DO EVERYTHING WRONG. I've tried to call, email, text and Whatsapp the sales rep with no reply. They damaged THOUSANDS of dollars worth of my belongings. Who wraps a tv with a plastic bag?? Amateurs!! They literally brought be my garbage from NYC to Miami AND RUINED my garbage can with their amateur taping job. Complete morons!! Please spread the word and make sure everyone is aware of the way they do business. STAY AWAY!! You mind as well buy new things and save time and money. These people are ruthless.

Long-distance move from Orlando, FL to Easton, PA

Terrible

I would never ever use this company again. Not only was my driver rude, unprofessional and childish...(literally walked out the door as I was trying to talk to him), but the customer service at dispatch was also rude and unreliable. I could honestly write a book about not only my experience from Florida to Pennsylvania, but friends who moved from Florida to Michigan. Both our experiences included damaged items, my price increased after my estimate, theirs doubled from 2k to 4K, plus some of their stuff was missing. When the movers FINALLY delivered my stuff I had extra items which means those people were also missing items! I would’ve much rather paid extra to use a reliable company, one that actually cares about their customers and the items. I did file a claim and have yet to hear back. Waiting for Delivery

I used this company for my move from Long Island, NY to Colorado Springs, CO --- Have been waiting for my Shipment to be delivered --- Repeated calls to their "Dispatch" has provided NO INFORMATION regarding when I can expect delivery. I was told the cross-country trip would take 7-10 days, but I've been in my apartment for 18 days now, and as far as I know, my belongings have not even been loaded onto a truck. If ANYONE from the Company is reading this - my job number is 6111273 --- You will find my phone number in the MANY phone messages I've left with the N.J. Dispatch.

Long-distance move from Bradenton, FL to Wausau, WI

I can’t use the words I’m thinking here so I’ll say disgusting humans

Humans is too little, thieves. Heartless.

Levani Kezevavze @ the 507 West Elizabeth Ave Linden NJ 07036 again missed another court date today regarding 2 cases I have had ruled in my favor, contempt.

I hired these fools, I can say that with every bit of truthfulness, to move my things from Florida to Wisconsin. I was a game piece in their moving game.

Short version as they only allow so many negative words.

Hired, paid deposit.

Paid money order (that or cash and I wanted a record) amount due at pickup except their driver wouldn’t take.

No reason given.

Mailed the money orders to address given by female receptionist.

Paid them in full except agreed $100 to be paid to driver upon delivery.

Driver arrived stating I owed $2600. Moving office said $2600.

Had sent $2500 Zelle the previous day as told to do and he confirmed he received it so the second round of games began.

I wasn’t paying more than the agreed balance of $100.

Mind you all, I corresponded by email or text because I trust no one and wanted proof of everything. Best thing I could have done.

They left with my things.

Next day the driver sent a text that he could “redeliver” my things for the $100 plus $550 redelivery fee! .??? A redelivery fee plus exactly what I owed the day before when they said $2600

I took them to court.

Sheriff of Union County served the papers to Levani Kezevavze, owner.

No show or even zoom call.

The judge ruled in my favor.

Letters/documents sent by court to Levani Kezevavze were opened, ignored.

Todays hearing, again ignored by Levani Kezevavze .

Just opened the door for me to pursue this in a bigger way.

In December my first great granddaughter was born. Everything I planned to make her was with my things, things I have no clue where they are.

More than what I wanted to make her is my baby ring from my godparents when I was baptized is in my things with the movers.

Sixty four years I saved it for my first great granddaughter and I don’t know if I will get it back to give her.

Recently I was diagnosed with cancer.

Besides my household things, clothes etc my personal things, things I want to mark for each grandchild, children, nieces and nephews before I die seemingly won’t happen.

This moving company STOLE my belongings!

Don’t let it happen to you!

It’s the most heartbreaking thing to know the courts saw w/my evidence this moving company defrauded me and stole my things yet they continue to ignore the courts orders and I may not get them to distribute to my family before I die.

I wouldn’t normally do this but if anyone has a question and I can help prevent this from happening to anyone else takingastand2022@gmail.

Just fed up with these thieves who have no morals or values. Who bully the disabled and elderly.

Concerned for future customers.

Local move from Palm Beach, FL to Sarasota, FL

Untrustworthy Mover.

I hired A1A Movers to ship my contents from W.Palm beach, FL, to Sarasota, Since I had a small move, I gave a description over the phone to Jennifer (NY/NJ office) who originally contacted me for an estimate. I had my pick up on 3/5/2017 and the delivery was scheduled for 3/8. When the movers arrived, to my surprise, the driver said my bill would be $600 more. Jennifer, the New York HQ agent estimated 261 cu.ft, ($800) which is what I thought final, or close to that. The driver said it was closer to 500 cu.ft. My first reaction was how could the agent have miscalculated being 100% off, since I gave her the exact items to be moved After they loaded it on, he said the total was 460 cu.ftor 200 cu.ft over the original estimate. That increased my bill to $600 more than the estimate, a 75% increase. I told the movers I wanted to measure myself, so I got up inside the truck, very dangerous with my age and bad knees, to calculate for myself. I came up with 302 cu.ft at the most. The driver said he has to charge me by the space it took up on the bottom whereas he was not able to stack items on top of each other to go up to the truck ceiling. None of this was explained to me when I got the estimate. I had no choice but to accept this at the time since I had to be out of my temporary lodgings.
Why should I have to pay for space that my items didn't use? I saw where he didn't use the space efficiently where he could have stacked some items easily without causing any damage. One section (135 cu.ft.) could have been saved by more efficient stacking. Also, on the pickup, the two men disassembled the patio table top without my consent. They said (from what I could understand) something about making space. The table top was only 24", so I didn't see the need for this. With the top off, it seemed to be an odd shape to try to stack it as opposed to leaving the top on. It seems that they were trying to take up more space to charge me. The movers also tried to charge me extra for saying the total feet from my door to their van was over 75 ft, which would have been extra. I re-measured with a tape and it wasn't
On Wednesday (3/8), when they delivered the furniture, I noticed that my items on the truck were this time stacked to the ceiling of the truck, unlike what the movers did on the original pickup. Also, the movers broke off one leg of an antique dresser, left an expensive oriental rug at the warehouse, and didn't put the patio table top back on the legs. Mr. Suarez, the main man of the two man crew, told us they would be back the next day to bring the rug and fix those items. They never came back and when I called, Mike, the Florida manager, he said that Mr. Suarez never told us that he would come the next day (Mr. Suarez lied to his manager).
Mike said he couldn't deliver the rug until the following week when we wouldn't be home. They left the rug on my front porch with no plastic wrap to protect it from the rain and never fixed the broken items.
I sent an email to Jennifer in HQ to complain about this. She sent my email to Mike in Fla. He called me on 3/21/17 and said he would discuss my issue with Mr.Suarez when Suarez returned from Peru on the 3/23/17. Mike never called me back.
I don't know if A1A Southern Florida outfit tried to scam me with or without their HQ knowledge. When we just moved here to Florida in January, I saw many news articles on numerous contractors taking advantage of Fla. senior citizens like myself.

Long-distance move from Florida to Connecticut

Move from FLorida to CT.

If I could give this company a '0' I would.
This is the first and last experience I will ever have with a moving company. I have written to the BBB and they were unable to correct anything about my complaint except to forward it to the moving company and movers. They explained to me that they are not an enforcement agency.
Here is the short version of my experience.. USA MOVING SERVICE out of Florida, along with A1A movers out of New Jersey overcharged me. After quoting me a price based on what I said I was moving and then actually having less to move, they charged me an additional 25% after loading the truck with my belongings not before they loaded it. I was at their mercy. They lied about when the said they would deliver. It was a week later than they quoted and only notified me 3 hours prior to delivery not 24 hrs as stated in their contract. They claimed that 2 different trucks on 2 differents delivery dates, broke down. They delivered 75% of my furniture damaged or totally destroyed (even being wrapped in blankets). Maple syrup was all over my wrapped mattress. Brand new Rubbermaid totes were smashed and completely broken then retaped closed. How does that happen? I watched them as they dropped another customers belongings in my driveway and break things. They looked at me and said "don't worry, it's not yours". They said make a list and they would give me 60 cents per pound for the damaged items. Sooo if you decide to use them after reading this, be sure to purchase the additional insurance. Their movers were rude, discourteous, late, careless. I could go on an on. I don't know how they continue to stay in business after all I've experienced and if I had the means, I would shut them down.
If I can help prevent one person from experiencing what I have had to with this company, I would feel like a made a difference.
