495 has been an excellent moving company. They helped move my wife from one condo to another ( I am currently out of state). I called with very short notice and Jacob was able to make this move happen. He was upfront and answered all of my questions. The movers showed up on time and they were very nice to my wife and did a great job!! They did not mess around and try to milk the clock. They were fast and effecient. My wife was very pleased!! A happy wife makes for a happy home =).

I have used 495 Movers 3 times and they are the most professional, courteous, honest movers I have ever eperienced.  I have used Mayflower, North American Van Lines, et al and will NEVER use those companies again.  495 Movers goes the extra mile and then some.  The owner is kind, courteous, and a consummate professional. Tom and Alex are attentive, courteous, kind, efficient, and honest.  They take extra, extra care in wrapping and packing your goods--treating them like they are valuable, precious famiy items.  They are fast and efficient and go over all of the costs ingreat  detail.  But beyond their professional expertise, these guys are kind human beings.  Truly the BEST movers anywhere!

Moving interstate is so stressful and finding the right movers can alleviate a lot of that stress and John at 495Movers did just that!  From the moment our phone conversation began I knew I was in excellent hands!  I was coordinating the move by phone from my home in Florida for my son who was moving from dc to New York.  This move had to be done all in one day!  The day of the move three men showed up and took right over wrapping all his furniture as they went about removing all of his belongings!  They left at 11am to start their drive to New York City and 4 1/2 hours later they met us at the New York apartment! We literally had just arrived after taking a plane from dc to meet them!  The move in went just as smoothly as before and unfortunately for the movers they had to bring it all in to a two story walk up in 90 degree weather! These three men were amazing! Not a single thing was damaged all of his breakables were in perfect condition!  I cannot say enough about this company from my first call with John to our experience with Jose and his men on the day of the move!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone!  I could not wait to call John at 495Movers and express my gratitude as soon as the movers walked out the door!  As stressful as the day was for us trying to get from dc to NY City to meet the movers we knew the furniture was in good hands! I found 495 Movers by reading reviews on several different mover review sites. 495 Movers got consistently good reviews. Their representative, Jacob Kuhn, started educating us about moving from when we first called to ask for a quote visit.
Jacob told us what we needed to do and what 495 Movers would do and everything happened exactly that way. There were no surprises; the packing and delivery crews are professional, hard working, courteous and thorough. The packing crew packed everything, and with care and ensurance that all items would be in the same condition when they arrived. Since we had no house to move to when we left Maryland Jacob gave us plenty of storage time so we would be able to find a house. Once we did, 495 Movers got our stuff to us promptly,  The delivery crew was as professional, hard working, courteous and thorough as the as the packing crew.
495 Movers uses a fixed price model which enables you to budget. Other moving companies started with lower initial quotes, but left delivery and packing costs open, so you can never be sure of how much you will end up paying.

It was an amazing experience to work with 495 Movers. Extremely professional and courteous. Having to interact with only one agent (John) for the entire move was great. The crew arrived on time, packed everything extremely well. The drop-off was right on time and in excellent condition. Prior to my move, having researched different companies I became more and more concerned about shipping my belongings, but after having found 495 movers and having read their reviews and the Better Business Bureau ranking I was more confident to have my items be delivered from coast to coast by 495 movers. Now after having actually worked with 495 movers I am so happy and thrilled to have chosen this company over any other company to handle my move. I can only thank John and his entire crew to making my move such a pleasant and relaxing experience. Thank you!!

I found 495 Movers after searching the web and reading reviews.  They had ample reviews stating how satisfied their customer's were with the service they provided.  After contacting them I got a call from their customer rep John.   We had a good conversation about what I needed done and he gave me some premliminary estimates that sounded in line with what I was expecting afterwhich he offered to do a walk through of my home with the owner.   They both came to my house at the agreed to time and did a visual survey of my belongings.   Both of them were very friendly and professional.  After the survey they changed their initail plan from sending one truck to sending two trucks.  I am so happy they did that because they used every bit of the space in both trucks.    After the estimate and I paid the deposit John followed up with me multiple times which gave me a great deal of comfor because my timing was planned out and depended on them being their.  I won't take too much more time but will leave you with that when John called me after my move to follow up I had nothing but great things to say.   Short Version: On Time, Friendly, Wearing a uniform color, Nothing Broken, No Scratches on the walls, Stayed until the job was done, helped me with any requests, Followed up and followed through, Finished well under the estimated cost!! This is the moving experience you want.. I wouldn't waste my time reviewing any company that didn't blow me away.  I am very happy!  They are a greeat choice and I will recommend them to others.    .

My moving experience was fantastic! I had called the morning of the move after a holiday to see if they were available to help move me from southern MD to northern VA (it was the only time I had available). Even though they were late getting there, it was to be expected considering the timing of traffic. The team that helped move me was wonderful! They were friendly, polite hard workers. I appreciated their expediency and we completed everything within the allotted time I had hoped to be all moved in. They were great and I will definitely be using them again since I am moving back up to MD shortly.

I used 495 Movers to relocate from Baltimore, Maryland to San Diego, California in the summer of 2013. A cross-country move like this is stressful under the best circumstances, and 495 Movers made it an even worse experience. Several boxes and a set of shelves were lost (or stolen), their contract employees that delivered my belongings were rude bullies, and the management/contacts at 495 Movers were dismissive and rude once they had my money.      
On initially contacting Jacob at 495 Movers in June of 2013, he was very helpful and understanding in helping to plan my move. They offered a comparable estimate for moving my two-bedroom apartment across country. The movers who arrived to pack and load my belongings were also very polite and competent. Basically: when 495 Movers still wants your money and your business, they will go the extra mile to make you feel safe and comfortable. This treatment will change once they have your belongings and you are under contract.      
Upon delivery of my belongings in San Diego, the subcontractors were rude and dismissive. At first they refused to unload the truck without additional cash paid directly to them, because my new apartment was set back from the street and behind another building. This situation had been made very clear by me BEFORE delivery was attempted, or even scheduled, and was within the maximum distance as noted on my contract. The subcontractors ultimately agreed, after they failed to shake me down for more cash. They remained very loud, rude and aggressive throughout the unloading process, and when I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers directly, during the delivery, he said only that he was “sorry for the inconvenience.”      
The aggressive nature of these subcontractors caused me to make a very serious mistake: I failed to account for every box on the checklist as it was being delivered. I felt bullied and intimidated by the movers, and I felt like Jacob at 495 Movers was no longer my ally in this process. After the movers left, with my apartment in disarray, I realized that two boxes of comic books were not present, and that a set of four shelves from a cabinet were also missing. The comic books valued more than $200, and the missing shelves made the cabinet unusable.      
I contacted Jacob at 495 Movers about the missing items, and he sent a terse email directing me to CSI, where I could make a claim and seek damages. My claims were denied in total, because it was my responsibility to note the missing items upon delivery.      
This is all very legal. 495 Movers has acted within the bounds of our contract. But my items are still missing -- comic books with monetary and sentimental value, and a set of shelves -- and 495 Movers will no doubt continue to treat customers with dismissive disdain once money has changed hands, and will most likely continue to employ subcontractors that care nothing for the objects being delivered, or for the customers already undergoing a stressful moving experience.      
495 Movers, their employee Jacob Kuhn, and the subcontractors who delivered most but not all of my possessions, let me down and ignored me when I sought a resolution. Potential movers: they are interested solely in your money, and not your peace of mind. Do NOT employ 495 Movers, and know that while they might treat you with respect at the beginning of your move, once they have been paid, you will no longer be a concern of theirs.      
I repeat: do not use 495 Movers for your relocation, local or cross-country. They’re dismissive and rude, at best. They will carefully pack and take your things away; what happens after that, only you are concerned with.  .

I moved from a high-rise apartment to a similar apartment in downtown Silver Spring, MD. The 3 gentlemen who moved my possessions were professional, courteous, and worked steadily. They continued to work hard until the job was done. Everything arrived in good condition and in a timely manner.  This was a one-bedroom move and they arrived a little after 9am and finished up around 3pm.   All my furniture was wrapped in protective padding and shrink wrap before the move.  They even helped with dismantling the bed and table and assembled them in new home.
When we arrived in my new home, the loading dock was in a separate area further away from the apartment.  I felt bad that the guys had to trudge back and forth all that distance.  But they told me to stay inside in my new home and that they will take care of my belongings.  And they did.  I packed most of my belongings in numerous large boxes which were quite heavy and they moved them without any problems.  As for the cost, I felt that the cost was reasonable.  They also asked for 10% to 15% gratuity which I agreed to pay.  All in all, I was very satisfied with their moving service.

I recently engaged 495Movers to move me 4 hours from my location. They arrived before normal start time of 8:00 a.m. The owner, Tom, was extremely accurate on the estimated costs of moving, although I thought it would take less time, it was exactly what he said because the three movers took there time to ensure boxes were secure (and if not, they took necessary precautions to wrap for benefit of no damages to property). We found that the prior movers who moved my items to storage had damaged quite a few pieces and they took photos for my insurance claim). Unloading was performed at the same level. I would highly recommend this company.

P.S. I came to them by way of referral. My friend had to move from three locations in one day and they did such a superb job that I decided to move with them as well.

This review is regarding a move performed on April 23, 2015. This is officially the second time that I've used 495 Movers. The first involved me using their services to move furniture out of my condo and into storage. They not only moved my furniture into storage as planned, but arrived early, wrapped all of my furniture in a bubble-like wrapping, moved it onto the truck, transported it safely to the storage unit, and actually use less than half the space in the storage unit to store the furniture. All while also performing the job in more than 2 hours less than predicted. That specific service had me hooked.  This review current review however, is for my mom who needed movers, of which I recommended 495 Movers. The move that was done for my mom was actually even better than the move I experienced for myself. My mom needed her furniture moved from her townhouse into a condo. Not only did the movers do everything as explained above that I expected of them, but they also beat us to the destination when transporting the furniture from the townhouse to the condo! I was completely floored at how they actually beat me to the destination when I actually left ahead of them. Also, arguably more impressed with the fact that all of the furniture was still intact and not damaged. If you want efficient movers who will give you peace of mind regarding a move, 495 Movers are the best.

I actually scheduled this move a day before I was supposed to get all of my stuff from my apartment.  My original mover fell through on Sunday, the day before I was supposed to move.  I looked up movers in my area and found 495 Movers via Google.  They had a 4.5 rating and many good reviews.  So, I went to there website and filled out my information to get a quote.  Tom from 495 movers called me within an hour of my request!  He went over everything with me and though the quote was more expensive than I would have liked I went with it.  I was able to get move scheduled the very next day which kept me on schedule for my job relocation.  To say 495 Movers was a life saver is an understatement!  The guys who showed up were very professional and quick.  They took direction fairly well and were able to get me packed up in about 2 hours.  I would definitely use them again if I move, though I may have to save up a bit before I use their services again:).

I received 5 different quotes from companies to move my 2 bedroom home from Takoma, DC to Silver Spring, MD.  Tom at 495 Movers followed up with a call to my online request for an estimate to get further information about my exact inventory.  He was plesant, professional and had an immediate sense of helpfulness. Believe me you want helpfull people around you when you're moving.  
Tom emailed the detailed inventory as he said he would and when I provided my own list in a format other than their online list, he called to clarify a few things and immediately provided me with a quote.  I made my decision to go with 495 movers over a few othe least expensive moving quotes I had received because of his professionalism and follow-up with me.
The moving crew called about 30 minutes before they arrived to my house to inform me they were on their way, but they showed up about 1 1/2 hrs early. Not necessarily what you want when you're planning ot get up early the day of your move and finish packing some last minute things, but the crew more than made up for it.  
The moving crew of three cam in and IMMEDIATELY scoped out my place, decided on their plan of attack and went to work.  They hustled for 3hrs straight with out stop.
I LOVE the fact that 495 has boxes/paper for those last minute things you can't fit in and they will even pack them for you!!
When we got to my new place, they came up, took a look and the different rooms, I told them where the major pieces of equipment were going to go and they went to work.
Overall, I was completely satisfied with their hard work and professionalism.
I would definitely use them again and recommend them to VERY close friends :-)

Was a wonderful moving experience - I highly recommend 495 movers! They were up front about everything, never felt I was being taken advantage of. They were always prompt and responsive and fast. And since I was moving between two apt builidngs and had to reserve the loading dock/service elevator their promptness was super important. I've had some bad moving experiences before, but not with this company. I couldn't have been more pleased. If I have to move again I plan to use them. .

We just moved from an apt to a single family home and although I had movers booked, my builder did not get the occupancy certificate on time for our previously booked move. In panic, I started searching for movers online and decided to contact 495 Movers. Tom was responsive, professional and most importantly extremely flexible. Since I first spoke with him, our moving date changed a couple more times and Tom was easy to talk with and never irritated. He understood the challenges when it came to the uncertainty of things and made the move very simple. The moving crew was also extremely professional, timely, and easy to work with. We ended up needing boxes at the last minute and they were more than happy to accommodate. It made the entire thing so much more pleasant. I have recommended 495 to two of my other friends who are moving in the next month. The only thing (which was shared with me when I booked the move) was that they add a 5% charge if you pay with credit card - other than that - it was fantastic! Thanks to Tom and his crew!!

One of the most pleasant and professional experiences my family has been through.  The company was genuinely concerned about our well being and it  showed in the quality of work provided.  As we had to wait thirty days for the delivery due to timing with the move in date, 495 wrapped and stored our household goods.  At delivery, there was not any scratches nor damages.  The guys who did the physical work were friendly and quick.  They dismantled the furniture and rebuilt the same as if it was their own.  Morti was great to work with and listened to all my concerns and answered my questions without hesitation.    I will recommend Morti and 495 Movers to everyone. .

This company is great. We were referred to them by a friend and I am still in shock at the work the crew did. They showed up on time. They started working within minutes. They never slowed down or took breaks. They were careful with all of our belongings. They treated us with respect.The work that the crew did would have taken me and my friends two days to complete and probably would have cost more. After three hours our house was emptied and our belongings put in storage. The price was reasonable and well worth it. I have already recommended 495 Movers to clients and friends.
