Worst company I have ever dealt with

All around the worst experience. I booked them July 18th for a Sept 1st move. They never showed or called, they were suppose to be there at 9am. I ended up calling them and they were running behind from a move from the day before. They showed up at 330PM. By the time we got to the new place it was after 9PM because they were so late to begin with. The driver was unable to make a turn on my road with his 36 foot truck even though Sleep countries 40 foot truck had no problem at all. They some how backed into someone's fence on the road as well. They ended up leaving. The next day I heard nothing so I called around and I eventually got Cheryl who deals with these situations and she said they were loading a smaller truck for me and I had to just wait all day/night until they showed up because she couldn't give me a time. I told her I was a single mom with a 5 year old and they had my furniture. She asked if there was somewhere I could drop my kid off (there wasn't). I got a call at 9pm and they said they would be there at 9am the next day, they never showed. They showed sometime after 12pm with the same truck. I had to go find a Uhaul because they refused to even try it. I had to spend $100 on a uhaul and I missed 3 days of work and was without my stuff for 3 days. They then billed me for $1700 way above the quote because of their mistakes. The owner Scott was even going to stop by because it was such a messy situation so the drivers said he was going to stop by and he never did. When I called to complain Cheryl said it was all my fault and that it wasn't their responsibility to even refund the uhaul amount. I am going to seek legal advise today as I have no where to go but here.

Long Distance Moving- Prince George to Nanaimo

The Long Distance division of this company is AWFUL!!!! The guys who actually handled the packing and unloading of my items were great but the office people are horrible, disrespectful, outright rude. I had a scheduled time for delivery, guy who does scheduling couldn't be bothered to call me back notifying that they were delays, took over 3 days to have items delivered, extra charges on my bill and now the service office will not return emails or phone calls to return my money. Horrible horrible company, DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Great service

While there was a delay at the start of the move by 1 day due to them being really busy , the crew kept in close contact with me and I was very happy with the level of communication. The crew was from Edmonton and they did a great job! They wrapped all our furniture with care and everything made it to our destination in one piece. They were polite , courteous, and very careful. No damage at either locations. The price quoted was what I was charged as I didn't exceed the 6000 lbs standard for their fee. And by far the best rate compared to any other company I got a quote from. I will definitely use this service again. Again shout out to the Edmonton crew fantastic job!

Long-distance move from Armstrong, BC to High River, AB

Moving company

Scott burley is one of the most immature individuals I’ve met in my life. Treating me like one of his lowest paid employees. Earl said they were going to send an empty truck because we were not sure of the weight. Then sending a 3 ton van for ten acre move.Thentook17daystogetourstuff. Burley you are the biggest failure. Ha ha what a joke this company is. Burley needs a good tuning up. Bunch of liar and manipulators. Tried calling 6 times but blown off every time. Every call they acted like they didn’t know me.

2burleymen. And a very bad move (Vernon to Nanaimo)

Where to start. Very poor communication to us, with us waiting hours with no calls, and no show to unload (waited 3 days) had to stay in hotel 3 extra days

Lots of damage and broken items. They even forgot to pack

and load the front closet)

They LOST all the liquor along with numerous other items

We would NOT recommend these people to anyone

They are very poor movers

Move from Comox to Duncan, BC.

I had a number of issues with this company when I moved. I asked to speak with someone in their PR department but they said there was no one for me to talk with.

One of the movers broke the stand off of my 52 " flat screen TV. He said he could probably fix it but it wouldn't be very secure and would probably lean to one side. He left it lying in the middle of a high traffic area at the final destination. I had to ask him to take it off of the ground and lean it up against the wall before someone stepped on it.

I was quite concerned when we got to my new place because he went into my bathroom and did not come out for 20 minutes. I asked him a number of times if he was okay.

I asked his partner at one point if he would check on him to make sure he was okay. When he finally came out he said he had a sore back. I'm glad that he was okay. (I was also concerned that I was spending $120 an hour for the two movers). This 20 minutes was charged to me.

Meanwhile the second mover had fragile boxes on his dolly and was running down the slope with them, stopping at the last moment at the gate, gravel flying everywhere. I was shaking my head and started thinking that the scenario was out of a cartoon scene. A few days later my friend asked how the move went. When I told her about the broken TV stand, she said that didn't surprise her. The movers had stopped at her place to pick up a couch and loveseat for me. She said they had literally thrown them both into the truck. The couch first, then the loveseat on top of the couch. With such force, that the loveseat rolled over the top of the couch and landed behind it. I could go on with my move but I 'm sure whoever's is reading this gets the picture. It would be nice to hear from someone at the company but I am not holding my breath.

Move from Kelowna to Summerland

Very big mistake using these people. No professionalism whatsoever no matter who we tried to talk to. Movers not professionals, but kids that were hired by a labor company? Broken boxes, dropped boxes, broken furniture, left the place in a dirty mess. No one moves in flip flops either. Claim we got was unsatisfactory. Way overcharged for rotten service. Use some company that is professional.

Overcharged and damaged furniture

Requested a quote for moving from Calgary to Red Deer, quoted $1350+GST for 2 guys for 8 hours and gas. Set up the move for 8am. Guys showed up over an hour late and the first thing one of them asked is if I could tip them in cash. They did a decent job packing and moving, however when they put stuff in storage they damaged some furniture and totes by sliding furniture on rough concrete floor and overstacking boxes. When the bill came they wanted over $1700 for the move but could not tell me why, first it was the extra travel fees then their customer service told.me it was extra wait time which was total BS I had to wait for them. They charged me for 10 hours but only worked 8 hour, the bill says 2 hours to load and 2.25 hours to unload, no way travel was 5.75 hours. Chery from customer service was useless, blamed me and then just ignored me. I showed this to another moving company and they confirmed that this is way overcharged, $1300 is max that I should have paid. Never using them again.

Move within Nanaimo

This is the second time hiring this company and both times have been what I would call a success. The one downfall was that they arrived over an hour late. I received a call to say they’d be running a bit late, but it turned into a lot late. When they did arrive they got right into the move and they moved quickly and efficiently. They stopped for a short break in what turned out to be a fairly long day. They earned it. There were a couple of small dirty marks on one wall in the new house, but other than that we have not noticed anything else. Certainly nothing to cause concern or complain about. Overall we were pleased with the three personable men that moved us and their hard work ethic.

Long-distance move from Calgary, AB to Vancouver, BC

Long haul nightmare

If your ideal move is to chase your movers for a delivery date because no one knows where your stuff went; play phone tag for 3 days with multiple employees who pass you off as someone else’s problem; finally secure a delivery date, but have things arrive damaged and broken; get charged DOUBLE what they originally quoted; find out they lost some of your items, and when you notify them, they give you a “We’ll look for it”; then proceed to chase them down for a month, only to have them tell you they can’t find it and will give you $16.80 for your lost items (which was actually around $800 worth) – then this dishonest, hell-hole moving company is for you.

These guys don’t care. Their customer service is pathetic. Their lack of communication between cities is a joke. The incompetence of the staff is laughable. They can’t even accomplish the most basic task of a moving company: deliver your client’s stuff from point A to point B. To say they are unreliable is being generous. You think you’re getting a reasonable quote when you first call. (It’s a trap!) Be prepared to pay double what you were quoted. They say they “charge by weight” but never show proof of weight. I’m just glad I escaped relatively unscathed compared to the other reviews. Their google response makes no attempt to rectify their mistakes, just says “Hope we can do better next time.” There is no next time. There will never be a next time.

If you’re looking for a mover, get a U-Haul or pay extra for a better, more reputable moving company, but stay away from 2 Burley Men.
