Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

DO NOT EVEN INQUIRE FOR A QUOTE WITH THIS COMPANY!

DO NOT USE!

I sold my car to an individual that lives in FL and he chose this company to pick up the car in central Texas. Car was picked up on Friday and the driver was extremely rude. Today, Tuesday, the new owner contacted me as he hasn't received the car yet. I checked the locations on my Ford Pass app and the car is in Mexico and this company doesn't care and has offered no assistance!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!

Great Company - used them in 2017.

I don't know why people are complaining about this company. In 2017, I had them ship a 1995 Camaro Convertible from Chesapeake Virginia to Sacramento California. I worked with a guy, Nick Armstrong, a very pleasant, polite, and courteous person. My uncle needed a car as soon as possible because his car at that time, a 1998 Honda Accord broke down. Nick did the legwork for me in finding a trucker that can deliver the car to my uncle. Within a day or two, he found a transporter and my uncle received the car in less than 3 weeks. The person who picked up the car was also pleasant; as a matter of fact, we talked for about half an hour after he loaded the car to his truck. My uncle received the camaro in California without any scratches. As of today, 2020-04-23, Nick is working on getting the camaro shipped back to me from Sacramento California to Chesapeake Virginia. My uncle is moving to Virginia to live with me. If you want an honest company and person to work with, use this company, contact Nick Armstrong at 678-224-8820.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to Burnsville, MN

American Auto Transport

I had my 2010 Toyota Tundra moved from Phoenix AZ to Burnsville MN with ATT. The truck was wrecked by their driver (damaged my roof going under a shop doorway) that was over 1 month ago and my truck is still not repaired. When I called Tony Perez my booking agent I was never called back. I kept calling until I reached who I think was a dispatcher. Was told call our insurance and that was about it. I tried many times to tell her I had not received my truck it was taken by the driver to a body shop in northern MN. Long story short - ATT double brokered my truck in other wards they gave the job to one of their carriers who in turn gave it to another carrier. ATT was zero help trying to sort out all of the insurance calls and documentation. 1 month later here I am trying to get my truck repaired and the insurance company I finally reached has been stalling to make or approve repairs. I would never hire or recommend American Auto Transport to anyone EVER! I am going to every review site I can find to hopefully make sure that people understand what their business practice is. They had no problem taking their 350.00 fee (paid upfront) but when it came to assisting their customer or accepting accountability for their drivers they were a huge no show. Be warned if anything happens to your vehicle when in the possession of ATT or one of their carriers you are on your own. I have spoken to many folks in the auto world and this is not the case with the majority of automobile haulers out there. Be careful and do your home work otherwise your results can be frustrating and expensive!

Long-distance move from Colorado to Ohio

Bait and Switch.

In deciding to transport my 1991 Dodge Stealth from Colorado to Ohio I have been getting a deluge of emails from American Auto Transport sales staff. Paul, Chris, Angela, Victor, Keith, Jennifer, Matt & Sebastian all have sent me multiple emails each. I have shipped 5 cars cross country in the past 10 years, so I am not a complete neophyte as far as transporting vehicles (not an expert admittedly either). In my initial contact I was requesting a quote from Snowmass Village, Colorado, 81615 to Brunswick, Ohio, 44212. The first quote returned was from Sebastian for $9 for transport from Snowmass Village, Colorado, 81615 to Brunswick, Ohio, 44212. Yes $9, obviously a mistake. He sent a follow up email with a corrected quote for $675. That was followed up with emails from Matt and Victor with no location or prices mentioned. Later that day Sebastian sent a third email with the same $675 price but changed the pickup location to Denver for some reason. I have overall received over 25 emails from American Auto Transport. In talking to other dispatchers I have come to understand that Snowmass Village is out of the way with narrow roads transport drivers avoid so I changed the pickup location to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, 81601 to save costs and emailed the information to multiple email addresses at American Auto Transport. In return I received a quote from Chris with my re-route request reprinted at the bottom where he said: “I CAN WORK WITH YOU AT THE RATE OF $700 FOR YOU REQUIRED TIME FRAME, WITH THE INFO YOU SENT ME I CAN SET UP YOUR FREE RESERVATION, CALL ME TO DISCUSS FURTHER DETAILS ON HOW TO E-SIGN THE CONTRACT.” Since I have been talking to other dispatch companies and a driver who has access to Central Dispatch I have come to understand that I70 is not an overly popular route and the few cars that are on Central Dispatch are not moving. In trying to get some semblance of order from the communications from American Auto Transport I called the toll free number and got Paul. When I asked for a supervisor or manager Paul said he was not available and asked me what I wanted. I explained how because of the light traffic on I70 that had been communicated to me by other dispatchers and a driver, I wanted to deal with a transporter who owned their own trucks so I would not be subject to the fickle Central Dispatch. He assured me American Auto Transport was a carrier even though I did not see that they were listed as so on Transport Reviews. He quoted me a price of $850. After I told him I was talking to other transporters (I hadn’t looked at my past emails yet so I did not realize that American Auto Transporter had quoted me a much lower price) and was looking to hit the $700 mark. He said he would check the schedule to see if any more discount could be applied. I returned to my computer and went through all the emails from American Auto Transport and discovered the huge discrepancy in price. I called back to the direct number for Chris to see if the information I got from Chris would be any different from what Paul told me. As soon as I identified myself and he pulled up my records he said “I will transfer you to the dispatcher in that area.” And transferred me before I could even ask him anything. I was transferred to Paul who I told that I had the impression that my file had been tagged from my last conversation with him to be transferred directly to him. He answered saying, no that it was SOP to transfer the caller to the dispatcher, though to be honest it seems strange that every inquiry coming in would be immediately transferred to the dispatcher before any order had been placed. If this were SOP why have commissioned sales people at all when a receptionist could easily route the calls to the dispatcher. I informed Paul of the lower price I had been quoted. He insisted that ALL quotes were for a Denver pickup and that after our first call he had changed it in the computer. I asked him if American Auto Transport would honor the price quoted by Chris on the 21st. Paul emphatically said no since the quote was from Denver. I said the email was quite clear and it was from Glenwood Springs but he insisted there was no way that could be so. I told him it was pretty cut and dry but he refused to accept it even after I told him I would forward him the email. I did forwarded him 3 emails, the $700 from Glenwood Springs from Chris as well as the $675 quote for Snowmass Village (and the $9 one) from Sebastian. At this point as a customer, it honestly looks like a lowball price is SOP to get people to call in to be talked into a higher price. Not what the reviews I read on Transport Reviews led me to expect from American Auto Transport. About 7 hours later Paul called me back and even after receiving the emails American Auto Transport refused to honor the quoted price. I asked him if he felt obligated to honor the commitment made by American Auto Transport. He replied that the agents had only been working for American Auto Transport for 7 years and he had talked to them but would not budge from his $850 price and I would not be able to move my vehicle for less. When I mentioned that I would leave reviews about the bait and switch and he realized he was not going to get my business his attitude changed and said the would continue to ship lots of vehicles regardless. Overall this has been a very unprofessional company. At the time of this writing. I have yet to select a transport company.

Didn't ship my 53 ford.

He told me he was a shipper and not a broker. After 5 days of dealing with him and promised pickup and delivery was perfect.. Said the driver would be contacting me soon. For 5 days I called asking when the driver was going to call. Soon he would say every time. Then on the 5 the day when the driver was to call another man who said he worked with victor in the same office told me they were brokers. he told me they could not deliver it to my house but would be dropping it 50 miles away.  My car is a 1953 Ford one you would not want to drive on salty roads. Called victor who was going to fix it and call me right back. Week went by and still no call from victor. shipped it with another shipper. Not a broker.

Annoying phone calls.

I wanted to ship a car from California to the East Coast. I went online to a website that provides estimates from several trucking companies. Most of the companies called once and/or sent e-mail. American Auto Transport called many times, and the calls were annoying automated ones. The company also sent multiple e-mails. I chose another trucking company, but I'm still getting several automated calls each day from American Auto Transport.

This company isn't even based in U.S.

This company will tell you they own and operate their own trucks. They don't. They will tell you they are located in Davie, FL. They aren't. Reserch the address they give you and see for yourself. It's a P.O. box in a government building. There is no business. There are no trucks. The truth is they are based in South America. Colombia to be specific. They have no intention of honoring anything they say. Be very careful giving out your credit card info. Also, the reviews on BBB and on transportreviews.com are fake. If you want real reviews, check out their Yelp and Facebook pages before it's too late.

Car transport.

I would not recommend this company if it was the only one available. My car was rescheduled 3 times. It showed up over a week late. David was very rude and argumentive when I called to find out where my car was. I was directed to deal with the transport truck they hired. I understand that problems arise but 3 times with one transport? They were very disrespectful and could care less if I was happy or not. He got his part of the money up front so had no motivation to care. Obviously he doesn't care about his reputation. What a dirtbag. Please find another broker. I send a car back and forth a couple times a year and unfortunately I came across this company. He was so nice when he wanted my business but after that when there was a problem he could have cared less. DONT USE THIS COMPANY, they are unscrupulous. Very unprofessional and rude. Call someone else if you want to be treated with any respect. He's cost me so much money not getting my car as promised. He can rot for all I care. This is being polite compared to the way I was treated.

Spineless Liars & Cheaters.

Believe nothing they tell you. It's all a pack of lies. Be especially careful of Chris Carter. He is liar-in-chief and doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to keeping it real.  These people are thieves and scared the daylights out of my teenage daughter.   There are many other choices out there. Some are even legitimate but the fact is that this is an under-regulated industry. Even this website which purports to be an independent reviewer is owned and funded by the moving industry. Chris-the-confabulator guaranteed a a three day delivery. Within two hours of picking up my daughter's car, we received a call from Mr. Dishonest himself claiming that something had happened to the driver and that the car had been moved to another truck. We had the driver's cell number and called him. He said that he still had the car on his transport. He also informed us that he was scheduled to deliver the truck in 7 days! Chris, the former military service member with the Purple Heart (he made sure we knew that) was just lying all the way home. There was never going to be a three day delivery. Lying for bucks. Very honorable Chris. We are all very proud of you!

Transport never happened.

After speaking with Victor we were guaranteed a pick up on Saturday, Oct 3, 2015 for our car. We were to leave for Key Largo, Fla. On the following day, arriving on Tuesday. Saturday came and went with no response from the company as to what the problem was. Sunday followed suit and we had to cancel reservations for that night. On Monday, we finally reached Victor who seemed totally amazed that no pick up had occurred. We played phone tag and late that afternoon spoke to Niah in Customer Service ( more accurately, no service ) and she blithered on about this and that blaming the weather primarily. On Tuesday, Victor and Niah both tried to exhort more money from us.. I finally agreed to pay an additional $150 if transport happened by the end of that day. She never returned my phone calls and no transport arrived. Today, Wednesday, we gave up and cancelled the order. I have never in my 70 years dealt with a more disreputable company. They should be forced out of business for the way they treat customers. I am posting my experience on social media and emailing all my contacts to warn them never to deal with American Auto Transport.

Shipped a car from NY to CA. The car was delivered 6 days past its estimated time. I was also told on 3 separate occasions when the car would be delivered and each time the car never showed up. This Company is a SCAM.

I called Alex, who promptly called me back and gave me a great quote (both in terms of time to deliver and price). He promised me that it would be picked up and delivered on specific dates. I point blank asked him if he was a broker and he told me "no"--that was a lie and I should have realized this but this was the first time using such a service.

Alex called and texted for about one day. Luckily, we hadn't paid him before he just disappeared. On the day it was supposed to be picked up, he never called or followed up. It was just not picked up. When I tried to reach him, he never returned my calls. I tried customer service, but they never called me either.

I believe the company is a scam (and some of the positive reviews look suspicious). They cost us a few weeks of delivery delay since we had to start over with another company.

Whatever you do--do not use this company. They will NOT actually pick up your vehicle. They are a scam.

Worst company ever BEWARE.

Worst company ever BEWARE- call you numerous times, booked with them, called back with payment info. Asked for who I had booked with and the rep that answered be also listed me on his name as well. Got a call that I was getting my vehicle picked up. Moments later I got another call that said the driver cancelled because he saw I was double booked. I waited 2 more weeks, with lies of time frames when the vehicle was being picked up. I had to call from different phones to get them to answer. Their excuse was they couldn't find a driver to take my ride. Finally I called and asked to be taken off the CENTRAL Dispatch board ( when they said I wasn't on it and they had their own trucks) and the guy I spoke with told me to GET LOST

lol called another company and vehicle was picked up the same day at the same price!!

Never Again.

Since early this morning I have called, texted and emailed Mr. Parker only to hear that the car will be picked up today. When my wife called him he said we had not contract and that no attempts to pick up any car had been made earlier this week. When I called to ask him about that at noon today, he again said the car will be picked up today. As of 3 pm today, the 6th, nothing. I called, texted and emailed and finally at 4 pm he called stating the truck was in Boston but not returning until the 12th of April.

All prior correspondence from Mr. Parker said the noted route was driven 3 times a week for the next 3 weeks and that AAT used their own transport vehicles. The one order that came in on the 4th stated Golden Trucking who was supposed to pick up the vehicle between 8 – 9 pm but left at 3 pm with not one call to us.
This is a joke. We were lied to and screwed around with all week only to end the week with the car still in Boston.
Never Again.

Hello,

Thank you for getting back in touch with me.

Currently we're running this rout twice a week. We have our own trucks which we use to transport vehicles for staple routes such as yours. If one of my trucks is not available we will use our broker's license in order to meet your schedule.

Once you have confirmation that deal will be going through, get back to me so we can figure out some dates and get that vehicle transported to you.

I hope everything works out, I'll be waiting on your response.

All the best,

Hello ,
We've been texting back and forth for a bit, and you've requested the total cost of the trapnsport of the Acura.
We have our own trucks which we use to transport vehicles for staple routes such as yours. If one of my trucks is not available we will use our broker's license in order to meet your schedule.
We can Certainly get the route done without a problem. The price for this route is $550 all inclusive, no hidden fees, no hidden charges. This is for a door to door service, fully insured.
I understand my quote is not the lowest you have received but the majority of brokers in this industry will low ball in order to get your attention and bump up the price or simply not be able to pick up the vehicle.
Please let me know if you're interested and we can set something up.
All the best,
Michael Parker

Mike:
The driver changed the schedule to 3 pm after your email stated 8 pm to 9 pm. I stated clearly that my sister in law is in the middle of tax season. She and her son (who also left work early) waited not knowing the driver had changed the schedule; the driver left at 3 w/o the car. This is totally unacceptable. Big difference between 3 pm and 8 or 9 pm AND no call from driver prior too as your email states below.

I expect you to correct this immediately.

Good morning ,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I'm sorry that this has happened, when we spoke to the driver and told him the conditions of the pick up we made sure to make it clear that it won't be available for pick up until that time. When he okayed it I automatically contacted you. I wouldn't otherwise.

I'm going to get in touch with the driver, I'll let you know what happens.

If you have further questions, please let me know.

If I could give a negative five rating I would.

If I could give them a negative 5 I would. Communication. That is an integral part of business. Evidentially they failed to learn that at American Auto Transport (“AAT”). I screwed up as I should have Googled their company name and added “reviews” to the Google search. If I had done so I would have run like heck the other direction. Everything you read on the reviews is TRUE. I scheduled a pick up for my vehicle to be moved from Massachusetts to Texas. Everything look to be good to go. They had a two-day window to pick up the vehicle. Towards the end of the second day, when I had not heard anything I gave them a call and left a message. I then called again a little later and they answered. I was told the truck had a major mechanical failure and they were looking to see if another truck could make the pickup. They said they would get back to me. That was the last I ever heard from them. I call several times the following day and left numerous messages. I called 9 or 10 times in a row thinking the ringing phone would get them to react. NOTHING. I do not ask for much. Just let me know that you cannot hold up your end of the contract. DON’T IGNORE ME!! They quoted me $1188. I had to go with another transportation company who is charging me $1600. Since my son is flying back tomorrow he had to inconvenience a friend who will have to deal with meeting the driver somewhere to load the vehicle. Instead of transporting two of his suitcases in the vehicle we are paying an additional $100 to take them on the plane. I could never work for a company that treats their customers the way I was treated. Not even sure how they are even in business. So, when you Google “auto transport” and the name American Auto Transport comes up, RUN LIKE HECK!!

Terrible Stay Away!!

STAY AWAYYY!! If I could give 0 stars then I could! DO NOT USE THIS SHIPPING COMPANY! They were very responsive at first just to get your money. We had a signed contract months before my car was to be picked up. I called them repeatedly during the two day pick-up window and afterwards for several days but every single number went to voicemail. Lauren who had helped me originally did not answer any of my emails or return my voicemails. They then answered back 2 days after my scheduled pick-up date and eventually sent a truck, only to find out that we were not allowed to have the car packed, which we were told upon signing the contract that we could! The trucker then left in a rage and the car stayed put. THEN upon trying to find me a new truck they told me it would now cost MORE money than our original signed deal. When I said no and that I would only pay the contracted price I was rudely yelled at over the phone and told that my contract would be cancelled. I had to then find a new company to ship my car across the country, eventually arriving a week later than planned because these people were so unresponsive and rude. Do Not Use this company!

This company is awful. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
My vehicle was delayed on both ends. It was picked up over 24 hours late and was delivered over a week late. I sat around for a week having no idea where my vehicle was. I was also told I'd be given tracking information. I never got any.
Literally as soon as they had my payment information, I never heard from them again. I'd been texting with Paul, he just ignored me once I paid. I called all their phone numbers and left voicemails, nobody ever called me back. Out of the dozen or so times I called an actual person only answer once. They don't actually man their phones so don't believe the customer service [EDIT] that they spew. He told me my vehicle was due to be delivered that night. It wasn't delivered until 5 days later. To this point I'm stilling waiting for a responses to text, voicemails, and emails.

Worst customer service I have ever seen.

Never use American Auto Transport for your car shipping . As soon as the car was picked up I never heard another word,no one answers phones there when the time came for delivery and they didn't show they don't answer the phone. I finally had to threaten to get the police and they told me go ahead that they didn't have to get the car back to me for 30 days. Finally tonight I get a call from people in Miami saying we have a bunch of cars here which one is yours we don't know. They name off about 7 or 8 cars many much nicer than mine and asked me which one they need to drop off. Supposedly they're on their way here right now with my car. The worst part is they refused to tell me where my car was. Told me to call a driver, who never returned a call.

American Auto Transport

4839 SW 148th Ave. Suite #425

Weston, Florida 33330

American Auto Transport (AAT) failed to deliver on the promises and guarantees the Florida sales consultant Chris Klein sold the transaction on. He guaranteed the car would be delivered on a specific date – February 2, however, the car was delivered on February 4. I paid additional money to insure a February 2 delivery date. He knew from the beginning the date was not possible but tried to blame the weather on the issue. However, there were zero weather events across the country during that time frame. Chris blatantly lied to me to secure a sale. In addition, he stated they were not a broker which was another false statement. When I spoke to the actual transport company who was delivering the car they told me that they never told AAT that the car could be delivered on February 2. They gave AAT a delivery date of February 4 from the beginning and Chris knew this all along. His manager Nick was not helpful at all. Chris kept referring to me as “boss” throughout my conversations with him which I found disrespectful. I only used their service due to having the car delivered on February 2nd since it was needed Monday the 3rd for a new job. I had to incur additional transportation costs for two days to address the lack of honesty of Chris Klein. Lastly, even after I signed the contract with AAT, I received several reminders that I needed to sign my contract in multiple emails and had to call customer service that the contract had already been signed. When looking for a reliable broker for Auto Transport you can do much better then American Auto Transport.

Spoke to George about transporting my vehicle. Was told he had a transport vehicle lined up, and ready to pick up my vehicle. The day of pick up , no one showed. When I called dispatch I was told they were waiting to find a transport. I was promised the next day my car would be picked up. No one showed up that day either. Late in the day I got a call from dispatch, again telling me they never had a transport lined up. This company lied to me from the start. I would never trust this company with any of my vehicles.

I’d wish it had a Negative 10

Allegedly they provide GPS for tracking your car which is a Scam,,Misleading Customer service is a joke Nobody ever Awnsers ,,,,The driver Melton was unreliable was late 4 hrs for his pickup time. Car that was shipped from Texas to South Carolina was late for delivered 2 days late. Sorry excuse of a company that I have ever dealt with Left numerous text messages voicemails to no avail. I know a perfect world doesn’t exist but at least be courteous and let customer know what’s is going on As I said I’d wish the reviews had a negative , it give them a -10 as a review. FOLKS DONT GET THE RUN AROUND with this company
