You Move Me not very professional.

They eventually came with their own boxes, they packed and moved my goods, and they got paid. In that sense they were professional movers. Otherwise, there was little professionalism about them. They were supposed to arrive 1:00 - 3:00 PM and give a call about 30 minutes before. They called at 12:30 to say they'd arrive around 1:30. They arrived 2:50. They dinged up door jambs and walls with their dollies; they left behind a number of articles they shouldn't have; they didn't even label the boxes they packed with the room the contents came from, much less a more detailed content list; they unpacked the boxes first, so when they brought in the furniture, they had to rearrange the boxes so the furniture could go where it was supposed to; they stacked the boxes so high they fell over. They used plain plastic tape for the boxes, which they tore by hand. More than a few times, the effort of tearing pulled the tape off the box and they had to retape. The net result was much slower than using a retail tape dispenser (which I generall did) much less a real tape gun (as the UPS people do). It was also much slower than tearing the tape I'd bought at U-Haul when my plastic tape ran out. All in all, a waste of time that was symptomatic of their performance. Furthermore, in addition, there were multiple workers and they did not work as a team. This was most clear at the delivery end where there was a single narrow staircase. The obvious answer was to form something like a bucket-brigade for the boxes. Not them.

Bait and Switch at its finest.

I contacted this company 2 weeks ago for our move and got a somewhat high quote but I had so much else to deal with regarding the move that I just whent ahead and booked it. Thinking that a quote was somewhat of a contract for services I assumed that would be the price. Oh was I ever wrong. I was quoted aprox 1500 for the whole move. I agreed to that price and waited for the guys to show up. They showed up a few hours after I asked them to start but they called and the weather was bad so I understood. They began to pack up the house. Two Guys, one was obviously the supervisor and the other just worked. They got about half of my belongngs packed up because they forgot the dish boxes at the warehouse and they only were here for about 4.5 hours. I was presented with TODAYS invoice for over 1000.00 That is 300 more than the whole pack out was supposed to cost. I got on the phone with the GM and was told that the estimate on  by the call center is really just a rough estimate and not really binding on them. I told them that if it is going to be double at least what they quoted its their mistake not mine so now Im stuck having to pack most of my stuff and get it moved but still having to pay for services never received. Very unsatisfied with them and would never ever recommend them except perhaps to my ex wife. .

Cheating.

Cheating! I will never never recommend their service to anyone. Here is our story: My wife had contacted them, shared all our rooms (like Living room, 2-Bed room, Kitchen etc. Information), even shared the total number of boxes used during our last move which was some 1.5 Years before, and got an estimate of $700.00 -- 800.00; Well, the day the Movers came, inspected the whole house, confirmed and verbally shows they are with the estimate of 700 / 800 expense; Well, the final amount they charged: $1437.00!! Not even near there..Absolutely Frustrating with these people, it is PURE CHEATING!! We moved local, if that amount or even anything near was shared, I could have done myself as much as we could!! Never use their service, I burnt my fingers.

You Move Me.

We recently experienced a move by You Move Me in Wisconsin. The 3 man team of Matt, Nick and Richard arrived promptly, took great care with all of our furniture and finished the job under estimate.  We were completely satisfied.  They could not have been any more efficient or polite. The key is to be prepared, well organized and ready.  We would be confident in recommending this company to family and friends without hesitation.

Movers.

Mike and Coda are a terrific team! They were here early, disciplined in their work, and got the job done in a very timely manner. I wasn't sure they could fit the items that were packed into our storage facility but they showed real knowledge in stacking the items so we weren't forced to rent additional space.

Our family would highly recommend 'You Move Me' and particularly the team of Mike and Coda for excellence! We will definitely use them again if the need arises!

Unforgettable Move.

I used this company on Sept. 29th for a move that was supposed to be a $450.00 move that turned into a $700.00 move and a 3 to 4 hour move that turned into a 7 hour move. They say if it sounds too good to be true..then it is. After looking at and comparing prices with several movers I chose these people. After securing the date I was never contacted by any agent. I contacted them 2 days prior to my move. That should have been a red flag then. The movers were supposed to be there at 8 AM. They call me at 8:05 saying they are stopping for breakfast and will be there shortly. They loaded the truck with no problem. They were following me to the new place and I see them go over to 7-11. They later call me to get the address. I had all my boxes labeled. They did not pay attention to the labels. They put them wherever they wanted to put them. They put the tv directly in front of the computer and the tv stand is sitting there empty with nothing on it. Daequan went out to get tools to put my mirror on the dresser. Billy goes out and tells him that I said they could go. I no longer needed them.I realize they are gone. I called Billy who I had spoken to earlier in the day. He didn't answer his phone. Daequan asked him who was on the phone. Billy replied" oh it's nobody". Then I call the office to find out what's going on. They in turn call the movers. This is when the truth comes to light. Daequan ask Billy what's going on and Billy told him that he lied because it's time for him to go pick up his son and he didn't want to be late. Daequan came back to finish the job alone while Billy was called into the office.. What happened to Billy I don't know but I think he should be fired and I think I am due a portion of what I had to pay due to these shananigans. To this day Oct. 17th 2016 I have not heard from anyone in the company. Most companies would call and apologize and offer something. Not these people. They haven't called to see how the move was..but I guess they really don't have to call when they already know.

Better to move yourself.

The day they came in and moved things out, they were on time and had a full crew. Everything seemed to be going fine. Then the wheels came off. They lost things in storage and the move into a new home was a disaster. I'm still finding things missing. I contacted the local franchise owner repeatedly about an entire plastic bin of holiday decorations either lost or stolen. While the owner told me of efforts he made to locate the bin, he admitted that they could not pinpoint the trucks used to move me and no longer used the storage facility where they had stored my stuff for a mere 2 weeks. His move manager was also in the process of quitting during my move back and no one stepped in to address the service problem. So, I am out about $200-300 in items which cannot be replaced, not counting many broken items and chipped furniture. Sorry, but I cannot recommend using this company. Get some friends and hire a truck, you'll be better off. If you do decide to use this company, make sure you number every box and piece of furniture and check them off as they are moved into your new place. Also put contact information in each box/bin in case it gets lost or delivered somewhere else.

Terrible experience.

Some of the movers showed up drunk, left things they were supposed to move behind, some of them on the driveway. of the old house. Did quite a bit of damage to several pieces of furniture as well as the new home itself. When confronted with the damages, the operations manager William gave a little chuckle, as if to say its no big deal, then left and said he'd get back to me. Never did. Had to call multiple times, and leave multiple messages until I get an email from his manager stating I'm just going to have to deal with it as they do not need to pay me. Really bad customer service throughout the organization, from top to bottom. After reading my review on Yelp General Manager called me, strung me a long a little bit, said he had to meet with the owners, then came back and said "Sorry, there's nothing we can do.".

Buyer Beware.

Do not use this moving service. The first time I used them, they were supposed to show up at 2 pm and instead they did not show up until between 6-7 pm. The move took until 2 am in the morning. I decided a year later to give them another chance, hoping the first move was a fluke. They failed to properly put together my bed frame and supports (they did not even bring the screws and pieces and left the necessary leg supports in the drawer). My bed broke in the middle of the night almost injuring me (and my neck actually hurt for a week afterwards). I now need to replace my entire king size bed set. I have had to sleep on the couch for weeks now because they have refused to get back to me. Their national customer service got back to me quickly, but the local NJ team they put me in contact with failed to get back to me after numerous calls. They finally emailed me yesterday claiming they tried to call me 5 times (my call log shows differently). The woman I spoke with was very rude and combative. I am demanding a full refund. I will never use this company again and will never recommend them to anyone. I strongly recommend that you think twice before hiring this company to move you.

Upfront Rates?

The actual service was fantastic, but if you want "UP FRONT AND TRANSPARENT RATES" you are going to be disappointed. I was initially quoted $238 for a 2 hour move which seems fair. However not until after they had moved all of my stuff was I told there was an additional $154 "State Mandated" vehicle fee. You would think that this would be in the quote. I thought I had messed up reading the fine print, which would be fine, I signed the agreement, so I paid. But after they left I went back and reread the agreement and they had marked the vehicle fee as $0 in the initial estimate. So, either they are careless and incompetent or deceptive and trying to underquote and overcharge. They even conceded that they had made a mistake and took $50 off. If I misread something do you really think they would take $50 off the bill? I didn't think so. They admitted multiple times they messed up their quote and I'm still down $104 dollars. Great business you guys are running.

On the positive side, the delivery men were very professional and everything was handled with care and speed.

First Time Mover.

This was my first experience with a moving company and I am so glad that it was a very pleasant experience. Thank you Blake. I must have picked the hottest day of the month to move, but you would have never known this by the two young men who were moving my stuff. They were on time and very professional. They made sure I was satisfied before I paid them a penny. I will tell all my friends about "You Move Me", and to request Eli and Allen to move their treasures.

Never Use Again.

Very displeased, when they bid $600 over the phone, I decided to move everything but the furniture, was expecting to be around $400. They were to send two guys but sent three, had 27 pieces of furniture and four totes, no clothes, no boxes, no lose items, 7 of the 27 pieces were a entertainment center already broken down, all of my furniture was broken down, it was pick up and move, all but two items and the four totes took two people to move, the third guy had nothing to do. I was not there and had a friend stand in or things would have been different, they charged $745.00! I moved 1/2 mile down the street.

When I complained they gave me a $100.00 credit, what I wanted that I did not get was for a manager to come to my house and look at the 27 pieces and explain to me why it took four hours, three guys and $745.00.

Never, Never, Never again, if you read this and you still use them you have no one to blame.

You Move Me Experience.

Found this company online, good reviews, talk of professional staff who took good care of items to move. The gentleman arrived timely and were very pleasant, but were not professional movers. I could of just had a bunch of friends help me move for free. Our mattresses had red wood chips mashed into edges..all of them, leather furniture..all pieces have rub marks on corners, beige linen headboard full of red marks, every table dinged or scratched, including a desk. Every item moved had some sort of dent or scratch.

I know moving is tough and exhausting, but this is their job. I don't feel these young gentleman were trained at all. I have used other moving companies and wow what a difference, too bad I lived too far to use the one I had a good experience with.

I would not use this company again.

You Move me.

We had You Move Me move us late in May of this year. Based on our description of what we had to move, they sent us an estimate the included three men and one truck to take six hours (plus or minus 20%). The crew that showed us was two skinny guys and a young guy who said he had told he was to help with this move at the last minute. They showed up with no tools, no appliance dolly and apparently no moving experience. We and our adult kids and a neighbor watched them and we all agreed that they had almost no idea what they were doing. They dropped a lot of things and had no idea how to load a truck. It got later and later and they called for help and the company sent TWO more trucks and TWO more crews to help. These other crews were apparently not happy about being called to help because they had just finished other jobs. We sent one crew away because they weren't needed. After 13 1/2 hours, everything was finally moved into our new home. We were charged an extra almost $1000.00 for the extra time and the extra crew. There was no reason an able crew couldn't have done the move in the time the contract specified. The only appliances to be moved were a washer and dryer. There were only the ordinary items in a normal move. After the movers were gone we found extensive damage to our expensive leather living room furniture that was only about seven months old. Also our clothes dryer is not working properly. Three furniture repair people looked at our furniture, one said it was the worst he had ever seen and told You Move Me that they needed to replace our furniture. The other two said that they couldn't do the repairs necessary and that it would probably cost more to fix than the furniture was worth. The technician who looked at our dryer said that the motherboard was damaged and needed to be replaced. The cost for the motherboard and a new top to repair the dents in the top of the dryer would be more than $700.00. Also many smaller items (the tv stand, stainless steel bread box, an outdoor thermometer, a metal garage storage cabinet, etc) were damaged or broken. After numerous phone calls and emails it became obvious that neither the local company or the head office in Canada were going to do anything for us. We were offered $600.00 for the damage to our furniture which cost us well over $5,000.00 and $35.00 for the dryer. The local manager quit returning our calls and his assistant lied about what their contractor said about the damage to our furniture. The head office in Canada said the they can't do anything because the office here is a franchise. We are extremely frustrated with the unfeeling way we've been treated. I would never recommend this company and would recommend Three men and a Truck. They have moved us several times and have never had a problem with them.

Great Service.

You move Me out of Cincinnati moved us on August 16, 2018. I can not say enough about this team of workers. From the office personnel to the crews that moved us. Everyone that we dealt with were so professional and easy to work with. The weather conditions were very bad, from the high heat to the downpours of rain, never slowed them down. They worked hard wrapping and padding every piece of our furniture and taking so much care moving each piece. When each employee arrived at our home, they each introduced themself to myself and my husband. They even reached out to our two dogs to put them at ease. The price was right on. If you are looking for hard workers, who are polite and take care of all of your belongings and are the best price in the Cincinnati area, this is your company.

Ymm Cincinnati is The Worst Company!

This is THE worst moving company we have ever worked with!
(5 Month Update: They refused to reimburse us for the damages they made and say we need to remove NEGATIVE REVIEWS if we ever want to see reimbursement. Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable company! The CEO and Matt are not honest, they don't care about making things right when things are damaged. They only care about removing negative reviews. Save yourself the headache and stress!)

~I read all the negative reviews and thought there is just no way this company could be that bad(I mean especially since 90% of our home was already packed by me), but boy was I wrong. They only had to pack up the kitchen and wrap our delicate furniture like velvet couch and suede upholstered bed frames and they didn’t even wrap those all the way. They damaged all of our beds, they forgot to wrap two of our kids mattresses and I saw them place them on the dirty floor of the apartment hallway. It was disgusting! They nearly left without some of our things because they were rushing to leave and closed doors(to make me think everything had already been packed). The thing that makes me the most upset about working with them is that they damaged our furniture broke lamps and then said that they would send a fabric cleaner and pay for the damages and they never did. They are a very dishonest company and I would never recommend them to anyone! We thought we had a very simple move load for them so it wasn’t worth hiring a real professional company like United it mayflower but we should have. This company didn’t pack our boxes well(would put all of our glasses in a box without wrapping them individually and then throw 1 sheet of packing paper on top and close the box). They didn’t come prepared, didn’t even have a pen or marker and so they didn’t label the contents of the boxes . Which is a nightmare! Please save your money and energy. Work with a better company ! They have yet to respond to emails or phone calls to rectify the damages they created. They will likely do the same thing to you that they did to us.

Best Movers Ever.

We have moved many times over the years, but have never had movers as efficient and courteous as the You Move Me team in Cincinnati. Jared, Mike and Jake took charge of wrapping our antiques so carefully so they would arrive undamaged. It was so nice just to turn everything over to them and watch them take charge. As a side note, they came in under our estimate by $600.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Arizona

Find anyone else. Anyone.

I have never met a bigger bunch of buffoons in my life. I have given this company thousands of dollars to help pack, then load a trailer. We had huge problems with them simply packing (how hard can that be?) and then the “area supervisor” came onto the scene. He is an ex-Marine (name is Shawn, I believe) and it all went downhill from there. The estimator severely underestimated the scope of the job, and when I was told five guys working for eight hours would suffice, they got about half of the remainder of the house packed. They were supposed to be back the next day simply to load the truck, but without everything packed, they were unable to do that. Shawn, the supervisor, was utterly unapologetic, and, actually quite confrontational with me. They did return the next day to supposedly finish packing, but with time running out, they reverted to trying to load the trailer with the little they had packed. The team leader (or whatever you call him) of the five guys was spineless and absolutely ineffective at having his team pick up the pace and try to finish the job. The team leader himself ended up taking on the responsibility of packing the kitchen, and what we found (on the other end of the move) was that $100-$150 pans had been nested inside of each other, and were severely gouged after rattling around in a box all the way to Arizona. In fact, after offloading the truck, every single piece of expensive anything was gouged, damaged or broken. Items were packed without any protection, the glass on a China hutch was broken, desks were completely marred, even our wooden headboard to the bed was damaged beyond repair. We just this evening opened another kitchen box, and found the food processor stacked right against several other small kitchen appliances, with absolutely no cushion between them. This is our hard earned money that we spent to purchase these items, and these complete morons have trashed just about everything we own. I’m completely appalled. To make matters worse, during the process, I emailed the head of Customer Service. She asked me to send photos of the poorly packed boxes, which I did. She said she was going to escalate my issues to the top, but I have heard nothing in months. I emailed her several times since then, inquiring about the status of my terrible experience, and she can’t even find it in her heart to even reply to the emails. These idiots have caused thousands of dollars of damage, and they truly don’t care. I don’t understand the good reviews of this company. From the peon packer/loader all the way to the top, this is a huge ripoff of a company, and I am really angry. Nobody responds, and I guess we are just going to have to suck it up and replace all of the things they damaged. Buyer beware - this company couldn’t care less. Pathetic.

Recent small move from neighboring neighbourhoods 20 mins apart.

My move started with glowing promises which fizzled into very poor administrative lack of communication. It took more than 10 days to get a commitment & contract firmed up amid long spells of uncertainty. The team were polite enough but a little inexperienced. Upon unpacking a box of clearly marked artwork., there were 3 pieces of smashed glass frames. Albeit , the box was packed by myself and clearly defined as FRAGILE, it was obvious that heavier objects were placed on top of it or that it was forced into or jammed up against other objects. The admin @ 9 Dibble, Toronto, have washed their hands of any liability which stinks of very poor lack of customer service. So very disappointing experience! Never again.

Beware of Underquoting.

BEWARE! I hired them last week to move me last minute based on a referral I had from a realtor. They underpriced the job during my initial quote and stuck it to me in the end. The lady on the phone quoted but mislead me .. FYI it's your job to know how long a move takes..Moving is stressful and expensive and the last thing needed was to come up with an extra $300 at the end of the move because it should have been quoted as a 4-6 hour move not a 3-4 hour move. They sent 2 guys and I had 2 friends help and it took them 4.5 hours- uh heck yes they under quoted it! I argued with 2 managers for this company and in the end I was left still paying way more than I should have. To top it off the movers ran over a bottle of cleaner left it tipped over on the carpet so I have a huge round bleach stain and I reported it to them and they have yet to pay for the damages or submit a claim to their insurance company to cover the damages. After reading other reviews about them and their pattern of under quoting and hitting people at the end of the job- I wish I had hired a more reputable company.

Terrible experience.

I really don't know how this company manages to stay in business in Toronto. They overcharged me and when I complained they ignore my emails. They did not finish the moving job, and actually lied to me because they wanted to leave--I asked how much was left in the house and they told me a few boxes and two chairs. When I got into the house later, I saw that there was too much for me to move myself. They refused to come back the next day to finish the job, and I was forced to hire another company to help me finish. The movers themselves did not know how to pack a truck properly necessitating two trips to a storage unit. During the trip to the unit, I was forced to wait for 40 minutes in blistering heat while they disappeared apparently to have lunch. I strongly recommend that everyone avoid this company.

Beware.

The only word I can use is BEWARE. Do not hire this company. I used You Move Me to both pack and move me from one city to the next, upon which damage was done to the condo property by the movers. The company took full responsibility (right off the bat) and assured me, verbally and in writing, with multiple emails, that they would pay for the damages. Similar to other customers, when I followed up with the invoice (damage was almost $1,500), I was ignored, dismissed, promised a payment would be made but never was. I got bounced around from the local office to headquarters, I spent countless hours, 9 months and nothing, no matter who I talked to. This company is unprofessional, does not take accountability and lacks in customer service. It took hiring a law firm and legal fees to get You Move Me to pay attention and take accountability. Please save yourself the hassle and legal fees if something goes wrong.

No customer service.

We used this company for a move into storage and then several months later into our home. We were very happy with the three person crew who moved us from our old home. When it was time to move into our new home they only sent two people. As a result I had to work along side the two movers to get things moved into our home. A leg on a dresser was broken in the move and for the past three months I have spoken with the franchisor a number of times and have left multiple messages and emails with the local franchisee. I have never received a call or any other response from either. I can only assume they hope I will tire of reaching out so they can avoid any expense in addressing the damage.
