Long-distance move from Rochester, NY to North Augusta, SC

Horrific

Do not, I repeat, do not use this company. They screwed my wife and I out of a 1350.00 deposit. Even worse, they showed up the day of the move and said they could only take about a third of our belongings - unless we wanted to spend another few thousand dollars. Needless to say, they left us hanging with no movers and a closing to attend two days later - and it was 1000 miles away. They did not return our deposit of 1350.00. Crooks. Watch out as they will have several different reps call you and when you attempt to return calls they will not answer. Crooks. We had to rent a truck and do it all ourselves. Please be carefulmw8th Venture Van Lines.

SCAMMERS

Actually if you get a call from this scam company hang up ESPECIALLY SCOTT OR KASEY and save yourself the money they will steal from you. They are crooks, Kasey is the crook and Scott is the con man that will lie; manipulate the numbers and take you for your money. They send drunk, rude and threatening movers to try and bully you into paying them.

I Booked a move with them, their driver told me the price was going to be up when they get there that the price was too low. I rescheduled to make sure I could be there. After days of no response a new date was set.

The driver didn’t show up, no call no nothing. I spoke with Kasey the crook and Scott the con, and told them I wanted a new mover, asked for that or my money back. Kasey the crook refused this and re hired the driver who never showed up even after telling me “I don’t think he’s going to show up”

Not even an hour later the driver called me drunk telling me he wasn’t going to do the move, even though Kasey the Crook booked him again.

Next day they showed up randomly, smelling like alcohol and completely rude, aggressive and unprofessional. When asked about the just showing up and smelling like alcohol the movers cranked the price from $2100 to $3500 and demanded $1500 up front (already paid Venture $700) and left when I refused. Kasey the crook and Scott the Con won’t return any calls after I was told I would not be getting my deposit back. Even after being told the previous day I no longer wanted this company to handle the move, being told by Kasey she didn’t trust them and the driver calling me drunk. I’m out my deposit.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Monterey, CA

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE COMPANY.

FRAUD. TERRIBLE COMPANY DO NOT USE THEM!!! Entire business model is based on SCAMMING people. They will tell you whatever they need to for you to book but when it comes down to it they only care about the initial payment (They are a broker). After providing a list of items/dimensions they calculated what it would cost (including all fees) and when the movers arrived (3 days late), he had no idea what he was picking up and tried to tack on so many additional fees the price almost doubled on the spot. After many phone calls (and no one answering) I cancelled the move and Venture Van Lines refuses to provide me a refund. I was warned by others not to use them and I should have listened. THEIR "CUSTOMER SERVICE" IS A JOKE! This was the worst moving experience I've ever had. I highly doubt this company will survive much longer but do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else.

Long-distance move from Gering, NE to Phoenix, AZ

ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY!!!

DO NOT use them! Terrible communication!!! I booked them to move from Nebraska to Arizona and all was well when they took my deposit of almost 1,700. Then I was not given information on who was doing my move just told everything was on schedule for them to pick up my stuff the following day then I had to call the company after waiting for them to show up to find out no one was coming! I was then told the earliest it would be was a week!!!!! I had already sold my home!! After 3 months they tell me it’s my fault I couldn’t wait and so therefore no refund!!!! DO NOT USE this company!!!! I’d give a zero if I could! It took them 30 DAYS to return my multiple voicemails!!!!

Long-distance move from Kennesaw, GA to Brookings, SD

Horrible service, unimaginably bad business practices

I contracted with Venture Van Lines for my move from Georgia to South Dakota. They then subcontracted to another vendor, which is standard procedure with a broker.

The company they outsourced to was absolutely beyond horrible, and Venture did nothing at all to try to help me remedy the situation. They had my money and they were done. They literally told me to call the local company myself. That is beyond poor business practice.

The worst part is that they never even mentioned a potential $750 "shuttle fee" that the local mover my charge. When the local mover arrived and said I had to pay it (after they had loaded my goods), I called Venture immediately. Jay in Dispatch told me that it was in the contract, and that's why they put that sort of thing in there, even though no one ever reads it. He then agreed to refund me $200 to help offset the fee (the local company supposedly offered $200 as well), and I agreed because again, I had to move and my things were already loaded. What's more, the contracts states that a shuttle fee may be applied if the moving company was unable to get an 18-wheeler within 75 feet of the door. They absolutely can do that here. They just didn't want to spend the money. The local company dispatcher actually said the words "I'm not going to send an 18-wheeler for that small of a move).

Venture didn't help me at all after my items had been picked up, when the delivery was late, and then very late (more than 2 months when I finally got my things), stopped responding to my inquiries about the $200 they had committed to me and that I've never seen, and when the local movers that Venture contracted with did show up, they had increased the amount due to cover the amount they'd agreed to discount when they loaded. I had items that were missing, that were broken, boxes that were crushed, and again....they were very, very late. And with all of this, nothing from Venture at all.

I guess if you're on the east coast and they happen to contract with a reputable vendor, and nothing at all goes wrong, they may be fine, based on other reviews. I would carry my stuff on my back before I ever did business with them again.

Long-distance move from Los Alamos, NM to Puyallup, WA

Cross country move

My mother used this company for her move from New Mexico to Washington. They contracted Genesis Van Lines from New Jersey. They have had her items for going on 80 days without an end in sight. Very poor communication from owner and driver. Rude on the phone when you finally can get them. Her estimate doubled the day they picked up her items as well. Venture Van lines states they can't do anything about it. Do NOT use this company.

Long-distance move from Bakersfield, CA to Lombard, IL

BE WARNED - Never use this company, I can't rate lower than 0!

BE WARNED - Never use this company!

On behalf of my elderly mother (85), we arranged and agreed to a contract for a move of our possessions (17 boxes/packages) of my late father in California to Illinois through Venture Van Lines.

Venture subcontracted to a moving company of THEIR choice named Five Star Professional Movers owned by Jamal Hall of Florida. While they were in route for the pick up (11/23/21), we were called by Venture Van Lines and Five Star Professional Movers via conference call to be informed that the quoted price had been increased by $100 per Five Star’s request.

Venture told us to pay the additional $100 and they (Venture) would reimburse us the $100 once delivery was made in Illinois because this was not part of the quoted and agreed upon contract price.

We had to pay Five Star ½ up front, the balance was to be paid upon delivery in 10-14 days.

Five Star loaded our property on November 23, 2021 and immediately deposited them in a US Storage facility in Bakersfield, CA.

To this day, 2/28/22, the contract has not been fulfilled and Venture will not reimburse our broker fee or the amount paid to Five Star (who no longer can be reached or found).

Venture will not help recover our property from US Storage nor pay the outstanding balance owed by Five Star, who has never paid a month and abandoned the locker.

US Storage will not release our possessions because the storage contact is with Five Star even though we have proven that the contents of the locker are yours which was verified by a detective with the Bakersfield Police Department. We now need to get a court order to recover our property and pay the outstanding storage charge due or US Storage will auction off the locker contents.

To date, Venture Van Lines has cost us over $1,700 (and growing). We have tried numerous times via phone (which they say "there is nothing we can do"), email and certified letter to resolve this situation but have had NO reply.

Long-distance move from Marana, AZ to Lewiston, ID

Do NOT hire Venture Van Lines (FRAUD)

Received a quote from Kyle at Venture Van Lines for 450 cubic feet for about $3500. Received a call from Kasey at Venture to go over items again and it went from 450 cubic feet to over 750 cubic feet and an added $2400 expense. I already paid about $1400 for initial payment using Zelle. Kasey stated the moving company would call the day before my move. Currently, I’m supposed to move today June 12th and never received any phone calls from anyone. I have called Venture Van Lines 6 different times since June 11th, 2022 and the calls are sent to their answering service. I had spoken with Abbey and Karen at this answering service 6 times to have Venture Van Lines call me which they never have. I’m now going to have to rent a U-haul truck and move myself from Marana, AZ to Lewiston, ID which is $2,000 for the truck and most likes at least $1,000 for fuel. I will be demanding my initial deposit back from Venture Van Lines for Breach of Contract. If they refuse, I will be suing them in court for the initial deposit plus all of my expenses paid to obtain a U-haul truck. Please please please do NOT hire Venture Van Lines for your moving needs. I promise you will regret it just as I am.

Sincerely,

Brian R Stephenson APRN MSN FNP-C

Long-distance move from Santa Monica, CA to Phoenix, AZ

VENTURE VANLINES IS A SCAM!!

They gave me a very reasonable quote a month before my move. I was told that I could not make a payment with my credit card, they would accept Zelle (basically cash). I paid them and signed the contract. They called a couple of days before my move and asked for an additional $750 dollars on top of the $1400 I had already paid. This was a red flag. I refused and the representative backed off and said they would make the original agreement work. Then my moving day came and no one showed up, no one called, nothing. I called them 7 times over the next two days and spoke to 3 different women at their 3rd party "answering service". These women at the answering service said that Venture Vanlines was a new client and that they receive several calls a day from distressed customers who believe they were victims of a scam. VENTURE VANLINES IS A SCAM!! I will never see that $1400 again. I can't even get through to these people who took my money. Please don't fall for the FAKE reviews in this site.

Long-distance move from Lutz, FL to Las Vegas, NV

Terrible Communication & Poor Service

On 5/3 I spoke with Kyle at Venture Van Lines who claimed he had done hundreds of moves. He scheduled cross-country car shipping for $1,000 and my mini move at $1,758. I signed their estimate contract and he had me scheduled for pickup on 5/30. On 5/23, I spoke with a woman named Kasey to ask if they would move my pickup date sooner to the 27 and she told me that "dispatch" would charge an extra $500 since it's within a 5-day window. So, I left the original date of 5/30. I then got a call to confirm my inventory on 5/27 where I gave Kasey an itemized list of my things with photos. Kasey then told me that there was one move that created a domino effect in the scheduling they had and that she would call me on 5/28 to confirm the date and time the movers would be here. I explained to her that I had a flight scheduled to leave on 5/31 and needed to be out of my place by then as well. I received no phone call on Saturday, no phone call on Sunday, and on Monday I texted her again to ask about updates and she said she was still waiting on "dispatch". On 5/31, the day I was supposed to have my flight out, she called to tell me that the movers would be at my place on 6/1 but still did not know a time and that she would get with "dispatch" to ask about a discount for the delayed pick up. I had to cancel my flight at this point. That afternoon, I got a call from a company called We Care for You that said they were "partners" with Venture and that they would be at my place on 6/1 from 11am-4pm. I then called Kasey to ask about the car since I had not been given any updates on when it would be picked up this entire time. She said, "no one has picked up your car?" I said, "no, shouldn't you know that?" Kasey then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to raise the "bid" on the car higher so a company would pick it up which absolutely confused me because that was never mentioned to me at all from the beginning. I asked her why she or Kyle wouldn't disclose that information from the beginning and she replied saying that there wasn't anything she could do now and that's just how they do it. She also said if I dealt with a company to ship my car before, maybe I should just call them. It's now 6/1 and I haven't been contacted by the company who called the previous day. At 1:30pm I called We Care for You directly to ask if they would give me an update on when the movers were supposed to show up. Jessica at We Care for You told me that the driver would be contacting me directly to give me a time and that regarding a discount, it would have to come from Venture because they just got the order on 5/30. This told me that the ball was absolutely dropped on Venture's end because they sent out for my move to be picked up the day it was already supposed to be scheduled for pick up. I finally got a call at 4:30pm from a guy who said he would be at my house at 7:30 at night. At 6:30, I sent him a message saying if we were still scheduled for 7:30 and he responded saying, yes. At 8:30pm, I got a phone call from the driver asking me to text him my address because he "left paperwork in another truck." I texted the address anyway despite the terrible feelings I had already been having about Venture and We Care for You. The driver and three other men showed up at 9pm with no uniforms in a regular U-Haul truck. He showed me paperwork that he originally claimed had been left in another truck that were basic inventory sheets you buy at Staples or Office Depot- no logo or company information anywhere insight on anything. He quickly glanced at my mini-move, made a call in another language and told me it's going to be an extra $400. I wouldn't have minded the extra charge had everything been handled professionally and appropriately leading up to this but with how uncomfortable I felt and how it seemed like fraud, I said no. They ran out of my house and then a different guy in their group rang my doorbell to tell me he could do the move for a cheaper cost as if they weren't the same group of guys. It was extremely unprofessional, and I wouldn't feel comfortable with them taking my stuff two miles down the road let alone a cross-country move. It was the most mortifying experience I've ever had. I have been so distraught over it. Venture won't refund me the deposit of $656.25, I lost money having to cancel my flight, I now must extend my move date till the end of the month and pay double rent at both places and begin a new search to make this move happen. Venture originally made it seem like a worry-free, stress-free experience and what I just endured was utter hell. I would never use or recommend Venture again nor would I use or recommend We Care for You.
